Hello again people of the virtual world, I decided to do a mix of retro with the theme of this entry but more of a current styling. One thing I do like to do is cover all sorts of music when I come up with an idea. There may be some people (more than a fair share but I’m not for certain what my demographic is) may not know all of the artists that I choose and this gives them a chance to broaden their musical horizons.

Aside from trying to connect people with new music they might not have heard before or remind them of maybe a good time or memory, I also like to discover new brands and events to share with the people that view this small place on the net. I showcase the things I like and believe in whether it be style or a particular brand. It is exciting when you find something new and want to share it and that should be what it is all about.

This particular entry has several items from the Cosmopolitan bi-weekly event which is currently just about at the half-way point of this current cycle. There is certainly something there for everyone and I encourage you to go take a look and see what you might find. Of course please pick up demos for clothing because we all deserve to be happy with our purchases. I discovered this brand by accident while browsing through FI*Friday and it wasn’t a risk to try them out for such a great price but regardless of that, this is a cool shirt. This item was previously blogged in an earlier post but I chose a different color denim because I thought they worked well with the style and idea that I was going for. Plus, they are high quality jeans that I think fellas should have in at least one style.

One of my Cosmopolitan goodies, I couldn’t pass up the low-top because I wear them out in the real world and sometimes style carries over between them. These remind me a bit of some shoes that were a part of one of the very first Arcade’s but are fitted for the most current male mesh bodies. These are casual cool to the max and I won’t be surprised if I see people out there with these on.

The one thing I did not say with my thoughts on the shoes is that this is one of the newer brands on my radar and I’ve been seeing them at Cosmopolitan the last few cycles which is where these glasses are from. They have a marketplace in which not every item is up yet but I am sure will be soon. I have high hopes for this brand and really like the style of these glasses. They are reminiscent of a popular brand of shades that is world renown and I proudly wear them in this photo session.

Let me tell you, this kind of brings back a few memories. It’s been a while since I walked through the halls of a school in any life. This backdrop build is very authentic and skillfully crafted. Putting together the scene for this was a bit of fun for me that I wasn’t anticipating. For a moment, I almost felt like I wanted to go back to those days…but only for a moment.

Lately it seems I’ve been running back to Netherwood to do shoots because there are just so many places I can go at the location but what helps matters is that if you are a paid group member, you can put down items to help your scene. In this case it was the really cool plane wreckage that I found on the Marketplace. While I am not going to officially credit the item, I am going to give you the link to it here so that you can check it out yourself and some of the other items available.

Most of my items in this entry are not entirely new or from current events but they are from recent rounds of events that make them semi-new. I just can’t label them as new because that would not be telling the truth. In case you were wondering what exactly I consider new when I tag it that way in the credits is if it is currently available at an event or is a recent main store release during the particular month. Once the item is no longer at the event or the month ends I do not consider it to be new.

Most of the outfits I have had on lately I’ve really enjoyed putting together and this one is certainly no different. I managed to find a great hair, awesome clothes, great tattoos, and a good setting to paint a picture. Keep in mind that you should always take demos before buying, broken record or not, I am covering all the bases so you everyone who reads this (male or female) enjoys a great shopping experience and bringing home great clothing and accessories (and furniture in some cases). When I was thinking of a way to describe this hair it took a while for me to come up with something good until I thought of the fact that it reminded me a little bit of Travis Barker at one point in his blink-182 career. In a way I supposed you could also consider it a punk rock style as well. Either way it is one that I really have enjoyed and it really helped define this look. It comes in several color packs or you can purchase them all for an adjusted price (which if you were thinking of more than one would it be that bad of an idea?)

Somehow I managed to let these slip past my radar. These Catwa enabled applier eyes are a bit on the brooding side which is why they appeal to me and made putting them with this look a good choice. There are 10 iris colors to choose from with two versions.

When I saw this tattoo while I was browsing around during the opening of the current round of Man Cave I knew deep down I had to have this. A lot of times I tend to neglect tattoos which I know is not fair but sometimes it is hard to find looks to put them with. This was one of those times where I needed something to add a little extra edge to my look. There are three different opacity types and there are appliers for most major mesh bodies.

This tank was a part of last months TMD and I just couldn’t find the right pair of pants to pair it with until I remembered I had the Washed Combat Joggers from REPRESENT which I’ll get to in a second. This graphic tank has regular and worn versions with a graphic that has several different color variations to it so that you can choose what works best for you. What made this promising is that it has a fit for the Belleza body which right now is hands down my favorite; it does come with other sizes as well, SLink, and Signature to name a few.

I try not to rely too heavily on sweatpants or “joggers” as they are sometimes called but it seems my wardrobe lately has seen its fair share. Though it is good to be able to take a break from shorts or jeans and even dress pants because that kind of thing can bring you at a fashion impasse (or at least I think so). These come fitted for the usual mesh bodies but I would still suggest making sure you try them before purchasing just in case.

Easily one of my top 5 favorite shoe designers as I’ve probably stated in past entries (I am more likely to say top 3 without hesitation). The fact that you can purchase a FATPACK for the price of what two single pairs of shoes might cost and have the ability to nearly unlimited customization makes it a no brainer. It is good that the Belleza body has the ability to work with SLink feet until designers start to release products for it outight. That way I can still wear the body and still continue wearing some incredible footwear.

Imitation – Miguel

When a new pose maker comes across my radar I usually check them out just to see if they are going to have something that is going to catch my attention/interest. I came across the Imitation brand while doing a walk through of FI*Friday (Fifty Five Linden Friday). The poses looked good and for the price at the time seemed like a great deal. I am really impressed with the brand and have since purchased more poses (I believe they are also a part of the Animosity Pose brand as well) that I’ll be using coming up in future posts. Keep an eye out for this brand if you are looking for nicely made poses for guys because they are done very well.

Some time has passed and I’ve had time to process some things but first and foremost I wanted to pay tribute to a musician that has had an impact not only on myself but on countless others. Regardless of whether you like the music of Linkin Park it’s hard to deny that they hold a place in the annals of music legend. Creatively written lyrics and a combination of soft vocals and raw guttural screams they came a long way from the beginning of the rap/rock scene.

When the news broke that Chester had passed a large range of emotions had filled my head. It just seemed like so many people that I admired from a music fan standpoint were suddenly just disappearing. Unfortunately I won’t ever be able to see the band in concert but I will still have the music that was created at my disposal to listen to and remember fondly. My heart truly goes out to his family, friends, and bandmates. The world is missing one light that seemed to flicker bright even when shrouded in so much darkness.

There were a few songs I could have used for the theme of this photo shoot but I think what I chose as the final is the best to represent how I feel and many others as well. If you find yourself needing to talk to someone because you are having a tough time do not be afraid, there is always someone out there with an ear to lend even if you do not think they do. Full credits are below so I will let you dig into those but I also have to say that I did edit one of the record sleeves on the pose prop just in case you like it enough to buy it and see that it is not as it appears here. There are no specific sizes for mesh bodies on this but should work with just about all of them with the use of alpha cuts.

Due to some of the issues I had lately it took me longer to get these put into a look. ROMP is in its last day of being open for this round but there is still time to run out and get these pants. The FATPACK has a HUD with 3 extra textures as well as a color picker so that you can create your own flavor to the pants.

Some time has passed since FLite has come out with a new release but at the n21 event they have come back with a vengeance. The NoMads sneakers are really cool. Reasonably priced and you get all the styles available in the HUD that is included. You really can’t beat it for a pair of shoes from my personal top 5 favorite shoe creators. Being that I am an audiophile (a lover of music) this pose/prop really caught my attention. It was originally at the Cosmopolitan event but I had purchased it just before the round it was in closed as I had almost forgotten that it was featured there. There are poses inside the prop for the gals as well as unisex poses and each of them are adjustable so you can get the best angle/look that fits you. This was one of the defining parts of this entry as it gelled with the emotion that I was going for.

It’s been a little bit of a tough week. Since I last made an entry I had some slight setbacks with my rig and it put a slight damper on being able to blog (which of course when I have time to and really wanted to it was impossible). I’ve also celebrated another year of birth this past weekend so that was pretty exciting but now that the dust has settled it’s back to business as usual. A new round of Men Only Monthly opened which I am excited for, I had a sneak peak of it before it opened but I definitely need to get back there for more items. There has been little time for shopping as of late but I intend to hit the events hard in the next week so I can put together some cool outfits and visuals to share with all of you.

Silky Eyes are the latest product from Avi-Glam. There are 6 different iris tones and each one comes with a HUD to change each eye (or if you want to go with a different one for each side you can choose another color). There are also three sizes of pupil available as well (Small, Medium, or Large). The product includes HUDs for Catwa and Omega applier enabled eyes or one for the two mesh eyes that are included. I really like these, they photograph well but then I’ve always enjoyed this brand’s eyes.

Lee Valentine is at it again! This new skin is based off of that one guy that’s in a show that just about everyone watches (except me because I’m late to the party). Very handsome English looking fellow that comes in the form of a CATWA applier. The body appliers you can find at the Stray Dog store in the form of their T2 shade. For this skin I went back to the Daniel head because it looked best between the two that I own. The package does include and eyebrow and body shape respectively but I did not use the body shape this time around.

I’ve been a fan of Kitt Ragu’s work for a long time, the ::K:: brand often has interesting clothing even if it is not my style or fits the avatar I might be wearing at the time. Fortunate enough for me the new Popover shirt at The Men’s Department has a size for Belleza which I took advantage of. This shirt is definitely a casual one with there being a bit of open space in the front. Normally I do not wear unbuttoned shirts like this but I figured I’d take a walk on the wild side and give it a try; believe me I was not disappointed. You can get this shirt in 5 different colors and sizes included besides what I’ve already mentioned are: Signature, SLink, and TMP.

More than likely I have probably mentioned before that it is more difficult to find shoes for the Belleza body unless you use the SLink feet fit and wear shoes that are fitted for them (which doesn’t necessarily always work well). That is why I was excited to see these low-top sneakers at Men Only Monthly. Native Urban is a brand I’ve known for some time and have purchased things from them with a high level of satisfaction and these are no different. Just to let you all know, I purchased the FATPACK just because I know I can use a different color for another potential outfit in the future or just to wear around when I’m out shopping or hanging out. Sizes included for this product are Belleza, Signature, SLink, and Unrigged for Standard Avatars. Also included in the FATPACK is a HUD to change the color of the shoe as well as different parts (such as the soles, the back patch etc).

I‘ve returned after drawing some inspiration from the olden days of music but adding a little bit of TCK twist to it to make it work. I’ve always been fascinated by the music of The Talking Heads from back when I was younger and still kind of finding my way through what I liked music wise. I think it is because of artists like this I have found an appreciation for many different kinds of music.

Artistically I like to create images that may seem different or odd to some but are perfectly normal to me. That’s the beauty of art, you don’t really have to like it if you don’t want to because at some point there will be someone that will and I am quite alright with that. I know I enjoy it at least so it starts from there.

I managed to find a really great background prop to use for this photo session that made the idea that I had in my head a little easier. At first I was not sure how I was going to pull it off or if I was going to try and use post production but I found an item that fit perfectly.

What I like best about this brand (which many brands are starting to do as well) is offer a styling HUD so that you can have a variation of it that may sway to either the right or the left of maybe even have it a little more fly-away. It’s just one of the things I consider a value when making a purchasing decision and a feature that I think is being more sought after. When browsing through TMD and seeing a lot of the usual suspects that I have come to know, love, and admire, I came across a new skin by a brand that I had never previously heard of before. Amias really did a good job with the “KIAN” skin (which comes in a choice of 3 tones). Also available at their booth are the body appliers (which you can get for Belleza, Signature, and SLink bodies). This Catwa applier has several options to choose from (no brows to several colored brows as well as clean shaven to two different lengths of stubble). I am very impressed with this product and would recommend it for anyone looking to give something new a try.

Some time has passed since I purchased a product from Ascend and while I was strolling through FaMESHed I came across their latest release (a jacket/shirt combination) the “Marc” Jacket. Sold individually or as a FATPACK, these jackets have a color change HUD included for the shirt to give you several options to fit your style. I purchased the Plain version, but there are also three other versions available (Denim, Pinstriped and Tweed).

While I cannot officially say these pants were meant to be a part of a whole suit (combined with the Marc Jacket) but I will say that they compliment one another very well. One thing I never anticipated was actually being able to find a house that was actually on fire. With some scouring over the marketplace I was able to find this build which worked perfectly as a back setting in which my theme was based off of. It also gives off that kind of eerie vibe to it as well if you are able to look close enough.

A new item from my sponsors at Image Essentials, this set comes with 5 poses (with 5 included mirrors for a total of 10). I really like pose sets like this that give a sort of suave appeal to them. It almost gives the antagonist of the scene a sense of being a charmer while being completely devious and evil.

Sometimes when you become inspired by fashion or even a pose set and you are eager to get right into it you hope that when you finish the final result meets whatever expectation is in your head. I feel like with this particular session that it turned out as I expected and more. I really truly honestly love the raw emotion that flowed through when I put this together. You may even agree with me that it could be one of my best offerings in a while. Everything I used made this come together just as I had hoped it would.

Even though I haven’t put these items in the full credits I wanted to give honorable mention to the little items that helped make up the scene for this photo shoot. The round table I used is the “Barrel Table Redwood” by Trompe Loeil, the ashtray is a part of the “Lyla” bar set from [Fetch], the bottles are from a set by {Theosophy} which is no longer available, the store sadly is no more. Lastly the lighter is a part of a pose set called “Blow Smoke” by WetCat Poses. All of these items set the tone for what I was looking for as part of the theme. As I said it does have a bit of raw emotion to it and we’ve all at one point in time or another have felt like pain helps take away other issues surrounding us and some display it differently and in harmful ways which I do not condone, I’ll just put that out there.

I’m finally wearing a new skin from Stray Dog that fits my style. Marvin is actually styled for a red headed avatar but you can wear it without brows or freckles and do your own thing, which is what I’ve done here. I really like this look even though in this scene I tend to look a bit on the angry side. This product is a Catwa applier and comes in three different tones; it also comes with a brow and body shape to use.

TonkTastic is a brand that has been around a long time, I remember one of my first pairs of combat boots were made by this store. They are still very relevant today and have just done a collaboration with Hermony to bring us this really awesome shirt. There are four different packs to purchase which come with a HUD that you can combine each of the shirt designs which allows you to have an abundance of choices. Sizes included are Aesthetic, Belleza, Classic Avis, Signature, SLink, and TMP. This is really a great everyday shirt to do just about whatever you want in.

I am a jeans and t-shirt guy for the most part because when I’m not really doing a shoot or having to wear fancier clothing I just like to relax and look comfortable as I would in the real world. So I needed to find a pair that would go well with the shirt I had in mind. I realized I had picked these up at TMD and hadn’t found an outfit to match them with so it was naturally a good fit. These jeans have built in boxers (which you can change from 6 different designs or remove them with the included HUD). There are 9 denim colors to choose from as well and come fitted for avatars that own Aesthetic, Belleza, Signature, SLink, or TMP bodies. There is also an option for a bootcut version for the boot wearing crowd.

I am a fan of jewelry of all types in the real world and I’ve been trying to figure out ways to bring that into the virtual one. I was looking around on the marketplace and happened upon this ring. Being the fan of music that I am as well, the piano keys spoke to me and I knew I just had to have it. I really like the promise that bento rings have and how they actually move with your fingers in poses and AOs which they did not do before bento.

This set of rings caught my eye as well as I was browsing and the options available really made it worth taking the time to make the purchase. There are plenty of metal colors and for the rings with gems on them, there are options of many colors as well. The package includes a set for each hand and through the HUD you can even hide the rings you do not want to wear if you are feeling specific. I really hope Ysoral continues to make cool rings because I will return to their shop in the future.

Drot has mostly been associated with being a creator of hair and other accessories but they’ve gotten into the build game and have been releasing prefabs and skybox’s such as “Apt Zero” for the Man Cave event. I really loved the old abandoned look of this. It had that dark effect that I wanted to utilize as well. Major kudos to Drot for putting out a really cool skybox seting.

FOXCITY – Mens Just Psycho (Fatpack Exclusive/6) @ On9 ♯ NEW

This was the center piece of this photo/look/blog. When I first saw the advertisement for this it caught my eye. It gave me the chills a little bit because of all the unhinged type of things I could create with it. While you can buy each pose separate why would you when you get the exclusive pose with the Fatpack. I remember at one time watching a movie where someone was putting a knife between their fingers really fast while drinking to see if they would make a mistake and put the knife in their hand; this pose replicates that image. I am sure a lot of interesting pictures can be created with this set and there is also a female version as well to purchase.
