[#664] Santa Baby

Normally I don’t tend to shake things up too often but when Brenna and I collaborate together anything is possible. As I was discussing the different types of goodies that were available at the Winter Edition of Pose Fair, the “Santa’s Girl” pose by X.T.C Poses made a strong impression on the both of us. We thought that making an edgier Christmas pic would be fun and gave me a chance to play on the time old tune Santa Baby. The version of the song I chose is performed by Eartha Kitt who at one time played Catwoman in the Batman television series starring Adam West. It’s a nerd choice all the way.

The pose itself offers two different options: one coming with a chair and the other with just the poses so that you can choose your own furniture to use. Of course it comes with gifts of its own in the form of the Santa Hat and large tree ornament that I have in my possession to the champagne bottle that Brenna has. Each of these items are transferable so that it’s easy for anyone to be involved in the pose without fear of not be able to use the props.

Pose Fair is now open to the public and I sincerely encourage taking a look at all the great poses from some of the best pose makers on the grid.

Brenna and I thought it would be funny if Santa got caught by Mrs. Claus and going on the “Naughty List” by entertaining one of his helpers in a sense. She’s wearing the “Sasha” bow by Vanilla Bae which is a part of the current round of FaMESHed. This bow could be a lot of fun potentially for both the guys and gals as it has 7 steps of removal before fully coming off so it has a level of interactivity to it.

My attire consists of the “Brandon” pants and jacket from Salt & Pepper. I picked this up last year at the SL Christmas Expo (I think that was what it was called anyway) and intended to use it for a photo but it never materialized. It certainly helps make this idea more authentic though I think my version of Santa is a bit more fantasy based as we all know that he’s rather jolly and not shredded like my version.

Of course I have to thank Brenna for not only conspiring with me for this idea but also setting up the rest of the scenery with the fireplace and Christmas decorations (stockings, tree etc). We are definitely going to be doing more shoots for Pose Fair but this is probably the one that will be the most eye opening and also give a good laugh considering Santa is about to get posterized with a flip-flop.

I certainly don’t envy him at all.

Now that I’m blogging items for female avatars now and again I find that coming up with creative things hasn’t been harder nor has it been easier. I am finding out that I do come up with some pretty good ideas that I might never would have blogged on my own before this time so I will take it as I can get it. I love to create visual stories to songs and sometimes it’s not always the stuff I listen to all the time or every day.

It allows me to even include genre’s that I might not have considered in the past as well. Honestly I’ve never had anything against Lady Gaga prior to her turn in the remake of “A Star Is Born” in which the music is fantastic and truly shows her talents outside of the theatrics and shock value we’ve all known from her with her strange dresses and music videos.

From the moment I saw the Versov “Rodeo Drive” backdrop an idea jumped into my head right away. I had some photags from a gacha that I played last year at some point and also a great pose set from one of my sponsors, Image Essentials called “Holiday Shopping” and yeah it’s not really anywhere near the holidays right now but when you love shopping any day can be a holiday so that’s what I’m going with.

This set has eight different poses each with their own set of shopping bags for each hand so that you can show off how boss you are when you are out on a shopping spree. This set has been around for a while and I didn’t get a chance to blog it when it was new but thankfully I was able to do so now and also bring attention to it to maybe a new set of people who missed it when it was brand new.

So I’ve checked off the Versov backdrop and because there’s not much to say about it’s features other than the fact that is a well made mesh facsimile of what Rodeo Drive looks like with the street full of shops with trees and benches. For bloggers and photographers alike it is about as realistic as can be with perfect textures so if you’re interested in taking photos of yourself browsing stores or shopping like I’ve done this is a great way to do it.

Putting that aside, I have two articles of clothing I’d like to share from Native Urban that I was able to combine together to make one solid outfit and it also works since it is more of a outwear thing and because it could be considered a post-dated photo from the holidays with the shopping pose set.

I’ll start at the top and work my way down of course because it’s the easiest way to do it for me. The “Melo Jacket” is a cool jacket with hoodie add-on that was originally only supposed to be a male release but at the last moment Native Urban was able to update it with a fit for Maitreya so I chose to wear both of the new releases for the body because to me they looked great together. The amount of customization in the All Colors pack makes it so easy to come up with just about any combination you can think of with the colors provided.

With the weather starting to get warmer though I’m glad I quick snuck this one in before the bug to wear more shorts and t-shirts.

Jeans are a staple in every wardrobe and it could be said that you can never have enough jeans (I’ve said this before) and it is true. There are so many types that you can fit a style to whatever you are wearing and not even feel any pressure about how you look. The “Rollup Jeans” are a denim version of “The Rollup Pants” which were a previous release not too long ago. There is a good selection of denim colors that I’ll go into when I list the features and it is practical that if you’re interested in more than one color that the All Colors option will put that styling power into your virtual hands.

[#588] You Don’t Look Back

I apologize for the lack of new posts but I’ve been under the weather for the last week or so and it caught up to me in the last few. To give myself a little bit if a needed break I decided to refrain from partaking in any kind of photo taking or blogging until I felt in the right state to do it and this is my way of testing the water a little bit.

I have a little bit of time before any new commitments blogging wise come up so I decided to try my hand at something I usually reserve for Halloween, which is do photographs inspired by The Crow. I’ve loosely associated this photo with the second film in the series, City of Angels and while nothing will ever come close to the originals I enjoyed it as best as I could because I wasn’t expecting anything so I wasn’t disappointed.

The version of the the character, Ash, was a mechanic who rides a motorcycle in the film so this is my tribute to it but not as closely based as my previous photos related to the original film.

Everything I used for this photo are non-current event items that I pulled together however there is a new release that is store specific in the form of the “Leather Leggings” that I am wearing from NOCHE. That’s right, I couldn’t pass these up because I am a fan of things that are made of leather…(wallets, jackets, shoes and of course pants or leggings as these are). There is also a latex version that came out at the same time if you’re more into that than leather which is alright too. But you can get your leggings fix on by going to the main store and checking these out.

Sometimes putting photos together can be difficult as far as poses go. Trying to find the right thing to make the setting perfect so while I was trying to find the perfect motorcycle prop and pose set, I ended up combining the bike from WetCat’s recent “Young Blood” couples pose with Poseidon Poses “Action Bike” pose set (took them out of the bike and threw the pose I wanted into a poseball). Combining them worked out for me because it gave me the look I wanted from the start; sometimes improvising is the best answer to getting the results I’m looking for.

I love long coats (duster’s and trenches or anything in that family) and through a photo I saw on Facebook, I was introduced to one I’d never seen before by Lenox. It surprised me because I’m usually pretty good at keeping up with releases from the store with many of them residing in my closet already. I made a run for the store and instantly grabbed all of them because who knows when I may need this in another color down the road (pun intended of course). The fit is great and it also has materials to give it an extra special look with advanced lighting much like the leggings I paired it with.

On that note though I think I am going to leave you all with the credits and at least say that if anyone might be interested in the face pain I have on it is one that’s been retired for quite a while so it’s something that unfortunately cannot be purchased. Hopefully though someone will come along and and perhaps make an newer version that could be even better.

I am going to go find some more things to bundle up with and be back again soon providing I don’t freeze to death in the great freezover of 2019. My coverage for Pose Fair is close to completion as the event closes up tomorrow night but I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve before all is said and done. I grabbed my brother Paul for a shoot that reminds me a little bit of when I was younger in the real world and I used to spend time with my brother. Memories like this are fun to try to portray virtually because the internet is able to hold onto them for a long time.

Space Cadet’s pose set “Teen Spirit” is a fun one that has five different air guitar poses. Not many people I know of do it today but it was a pretty big thing to do for fun when listening to music in my younger years (This was before video games took over). Both Paul and I have different poses from the set and I cannot tell you how much fun we had with this and the coolest part is that the poses are named after musicians such as Axl Rose and Slash from Guns N’ Roses.

Many of the poses that I have used for blogs from Pose Fair are great (as are ones that I have not as well) but this definitely is a lot of fun and I think that anyone that gets this pose pack could live out their rock star fantasies.

Modulus has quite a few new releases going right now and in this post the style I have on is the “Pete Hair”. It is a short to mid length style that flows to one side of the face or the other depending on which version you wear. I have seen a lot of musicians have similar hairstyles to this and using it for this photo works out for me because I feel like I choose the right direction for the hair to fall as I jam out to some Boston.

I‘ve been sticking with my closet and wearing clothes that likely have been featured a time or two here but I decided to do a little shopping this afternoon; visiting both The Men’s Department and Men Only Monthly to put together an outfit that I really like. I’ll start with my shirt which is from Chuck Size and called “FABIO”. Graphic shirts are probably my most favorite type of shirt there is and the designs that this store has on theirs is super cool to me. It only makes sense that if I am doing a photo where I’m playing air guitar to possibly one of the most well known songs of the last 40+ years that a shirt with a skeleton holding a guitar is appropriate.

The jogging pants I am wearing come from etham and can be found at Men Only Monthly. Taking into account all of the previous things I mentioned, jogging pants made it clear to me that I have kind of a retro look going on that is pretty 80’s or 90’s inspired. Might as well be comfortable while I’m doing my best impression of just about any famous guitar player out there wailing away at a guitar solo.

Paul is attired in past releases from Cold-Ash and takes after his brother when it comes to knowing good clothing when he sees it.

On that note I think we’ve jammed out a good while and you all know what’s what. Time for some credits to get you out there shopping and if the weather is anything like it is here…staying in and going on a shopping trip is a lot more exciting. If you must venture out please be safe and warm and do NOT lick frozen light poles, you’ll live to regret it!

The whole month of October always inspires me to do strange photos (even though I do them all year round but they are extra fun in October). I’m trying my hand at being a neighborhood Jason as opposed to terrorizing a camp. Running around and scaring people left and right in some super short shorts with only a hockey mask and a machete. Seems like it might be a cold time with there being a chill in the air now but when your adrenaline is running on all cylinders it could be -10 degrees and you could be as warm as a Sherpa blanket.

Speaking of Machete’s, Attitude has a really sweet pose set (not sweet as in candy or relationship of course) at Pose Fair. This means that anyone who goes to the event can check out this set and mirror a psychopath in their photography. With 5 differing poses and an included machete (one for each hand to fit the pose that best goes with it) Halloween photography will get that much better as it certainly inspired me along with a visit to Missing Mile, a long standing rp sim that is so well put together an photogenic in a creepy way.

What psycho slasher isn’t caked with blood? You’re going to have to find me one that doesn’t because every single one I’ve ever seen on TV or on film is always bloody in some capacity which is why I am using a really good blood splatter applier from Revolver Tattoo called “Halloween Blood”. I really am a fan of how it helped bring my buff slasher together and helps show how much he got into his work.

Finding blood appliers can be hit and miss but this one was definitely scratched that itch and gave that extra added something to the look and also helped create the scene along with a good surrounding and also good lighting on top of that.

Lastly most everyone knows about The Arcade’s Halloween Pop-Up round that is going on right now but just in case you don’t…they have a special round with machines centering on the ooky and spooky. It began on the 6th of October and will last until the 31st of October (which as you know is Halloween woohoo) and so far it’s been a hit because many people who have been trying to get in to play the machines have had a hard time due to their only being one sim for this special event instead of three.

One of the machines that I thought was super cool was the Versov machine which has an assortment of masks, a few knives, a machete, some severed arms and two different pairs of shoes (one limited Bloody version and a non bloody FATPACK with an assortment of colors). I knew after I ended up with the bloody shoes and a mask that looks similar to the classic movie killer I just needed a few more things and a look would be complete.

I added the blood applier and threw on the “Gerard” shorts by LOB and wandered around the streets of Missing Mile to find a location and the rest as they say is history. There is a policy of not going into houses on the sim to photograph and I remain respectful to that so I stood right at the threshold of a house that looked like it was at a good spot and went to work.

Lately I feel like I’ve been on a small run of creativity so I’ve been wanting to hammer out these ideas while I remember them and if some of the items that helped produce it are still in an event to promote them while they are still available at these places. This is likely one of the first times that I’ve ever blogged a backdrop as one of the main sources of inspiration for a post; most of the time it’s a pose, clothing or an accessory that helps me put an idea together.

Joplino’s “Skatecave” is definitely the photography aid for those who are big fans of action sports or just skateboarding in general. It has several different spots within its structure that still pictures can be taken or with a skateboard for that grinding/shredding action. The walls have graffiti on them which gives it a skate culture feel.

As such with a backdrop there’s not really a lot I can speak about concerning “features” like I can with clothing and accessories. It’s very cut and dry that you see what you get and it’s definitely worth your time going to The Men Jail event and seeing it for yourself and you have until the 28th of July to do that but why wait until then? Head over there now!

Pose Fair still has a good amount of life left for it’s July round as well and as a late entry, Image Essentials has released three new pose packs but I am focusing on one for the guys and it goes by the name “B-Rad” and that seems rather fitting for a skateboarding type scene wouldn’t you think? The poses are all static as well as bento capable and if you were to ask me to best describe it, I would say they are all very chill and laid back stands which is right up my alley when I don’t feel like doing anything intense that requires action.

This post is rather heavy with items from The Men Jail (included the backdrop I’ve already mentioned), in fact I would say close to half of my look and outfit are items from the event; as you can see there are a lot of various items you can get at the event which is nice to have a variety. Most men’s events do have these things but there are just so few of them that you have to take what you can get.

L&E has this hair/bandana combination for sale at TMJ which I thought fit my needs exactly for what kind of look I wanted to achieve for a skater dude, the way the hair is styled reminds me of professional baseball player Bryce Harper, which reminds me of his appearance recently during the 2018 MLB Home Run Derby. It’s has the wet look to it with strands sticking up here and there and also really could be worn for maybe a summer photo working outside in the heat as well.

The headband (which is also packaged individually) has quite a few choices for designs that I almost had a hard time choosing which one I wanted to use and I looked at them all and narrowed down my choices and finally made a decision. Having options is a great thing but I don’t have to tell anyone that because it’s just one of those truths.

Sticking with my coverage of The Men Jail, I am also wearing the R2A “Vest Shirt with Bag” (the bag itself I didn’t include in the shot) with the thought that it most definitely gives the skater vibe that I was looking for. It’s not a full sleeved shirt and it’s baggy as well which is good for movement and wouldn’t be restrictive to someone that skateboards. The bag that comes with it is comparable to a fanny pack (if you are younger and are not familiar google it now but don’t forget to come back!) I chose to omit it from the photo because I didn’t feel like it worked with the idea I had in my head but it is a cool added feature.

I haven’t forgotten The Men’s Department as I mentioned in one of my previous posts that there would be more items from the event featured on the site and that comes in the form of these Capri Shorts from TonkTastic, who have been making some excellent clothing items in the last year or so (including the collabs with Hermony which were fantastic). These shorts are at a length that I like but the fact that there are so many choices color and fabric wise that it caused me to choose because buying the entire collection was not an option for me at that moment so I chose to go with denim because I don’t recall having anything like it in my wardrobe.

It fit with my ideas for what I wanted to wear for the photo and all fell into place naturally. It doesn’t always work that way as many bloggers will tell you there is generally a snag in even the easiest plans which is why when putting everything together and not having any hiccups upon the shooting process.

I also have to give props to Versov for the skateboard I used as a prop, it’s from their gacha that was first released at the June 2018 edition of The Arcade. Speaking of shoes, the ones I am wearing for this look come from The Men’s jail as well and are from Dossier (whom I’ve worn in several blog posts recently). The “Slip-On Konshu” are similar to like the Vans slip-on shoes you can get out in the real world and with this release you get all of the color/styles in one release. Yes you get the entire FATPACK and the cost of them is a value. If you need some slip-ons these will do well for you and that’s definitely a bargain you can feel good about.

Now that all the information I can think of about the majority of the featured products of this blog are done with I think that it would be fair to wrap this up so that I can start to plan the next scene and get it photographed by the weekend (or possibly sooner maybe). There’s still plenty of things that I’d like to show on these pages and also Men Only Monthly is coming back for the July/August round which is exciting as well.

The productivity I’ve been feeling over the last few weeks is also a pretty good one and not in a way where I feel like I’m just trying to hammer stuff out to meet a deadline. The ideas have been coming along with the help of products I’ve received from events or ones I’ve purchased on my own accord. I hope that I can keep a steady pace and as July transitions into August come in swinging heavy.

Putting fun (or just funny) scenes together is something I do like to do even though most of the time it seems like everything on this blog is super serious. I like to try and show a little bit of everything when I can so that’s what I’ve got going on in this post. I’d say that I came into contact with this song that I’m using for the soundtrack of the blog about maybe 3-4 months ago when I was traveling and listening to the radio. I thought that it was a really upbeat type of song even though some of the lyrics to it are a bit deep and maybe even troubled. I have at times felt this way in my life and I’m sure many others have too but there’s always someone in our life that brings our spirits up and we might not have seen them recently.

This is dedicated to those people because no matter how long time passes between visits or communication they always have that special place.

As my coverage for my first round as an official blogger of The Men Jail is winding down, I have several different items that are making an appearance here because I wanted to get as much as I could in when it was applicable. The event has such a variety of things so choosing what to show has been a bit of a struggle for me but in a good way. I hear things from others saying that they have hard time blogging items from events because it doesn’t fit what they do or whatever the reason might be but I am of the mentality that I can make just about anything work and I’m going to try win, lose, or draw.

Poses are something that you can always easily apply to a photo because it’s essentially a lifeblood to help you capture something unique (unless you are a landscape or decorative blogger than that does not apply) and {Phantom Animations} latest release “Cart Saga” definitely fits the bill. “Cart Saga” is definitely something fun as who doesn’t remember goofing around in their youth at the grocery or at the local retail chain goofing off with the carts with siblings or friends. It’s very possible that adults may attempt to do this as well to a lot less favorable outcome.

As a part of my look I’m wearing the Purfect “Mesh Beard A 012” which when it comes to mesh beards I figured I’d be tweaking it or trying to tweak it so much that I’d end up getting frustrated and giving up and wouldn’t end up using it but this beard was super easy to do a simple tweak and it fit my face “purfectly” ok that was a bad pun but I have to throw one in there now and then. I seriously like this beard and it’s not so much a hipster style beard and for a moment before I added hair to my look I thought I kinda had the “Eric Young” look going on (if you have no idea who he is hit up Google to learn more about him!)

My third and final item is from another brand that I’ve heard of but like Purfect is making it’s first appearance here on the blog. MP Style has been around for a while but for some reason I just haven’t gotten around to showing any of their stuff until their TMJ item “Bruno White Shorts” and could also quality as a Bermuda pant as they go past the knee. I am a fan of any short that doesn’t go too far above the knee like your inner thighs have swallowed the material and I know that some people like that style but I don’t feel it looks right on me.

Fortunately I’m able to show off the latest Modulus hair from The Men’s Department with over a week left in the round. Hopefully in the near future I’ll be able to get myself together with taking photos and getting them posted but sometimes my energy levels suck and I just can’t force myself to post something because then I’ll hate it and if I don’t like it how are the brands I am blogging going to like it? It’s a multifaceted process and I’ve made it goal after posting something that I realize I wasn’t feeling 100% to never consider “phoning it in” again.

The “Joey” hair is a short to mid length style that is combed off to the right, I have the sides and back of my head shaved to give it more depth. Hair is another thing much like facial hair that sometimes needs a bit of resize tweaking to look it’s best on you and I didn’t have to do much of that with this product or usually any of Modulus’ hairs.

For this particular scene I’m wearing a tone from the Browns pack as that’s been my signature hair color as of late.

I was also able to get the credits from my buddies look and can tell you that I may have to take a trip to Men Only Monthly to get the A&D “Gregory” shirt because it looks pretty cool. My last featured product that also comes from The Men’s Department event are the “Zoe” Sneakers from Native Urban. Don’t let the name fool you this are unisex shoes that you can wear and use for exercising, jogging, or just hanging out with your favorite people. I love that the Fatpack version has so much customization and sure in this photo I played it safe to match my outfit but I can always do something really different in future looks. Native Urban really has a good sneaker game and I’m pretty strict about my footwear.

The last week or so has proven to be one giant test for me personally and while I don’t feel compelled to go into details I will say that having an outlet such as blogging has been something of a godsend because it’s helped me from falling over the edge into places that I don’t really want to go. Frankly, if I did I might not ever return from them.

One thing that I have learned is that we don’t know what’s around the corner; there are no absolutes. People come into our lives and for whatever reason sometimes they don’t stay there and there may not be a clear cut view of why or how…it just happens.

It has brought me to the thought that while time is infinite regardless of where we are within it and how long we have, it is our enemy. We can carry our weapons silently ready to fight it when it comes and each battle leaves you scarred on the inside until finally time rallies and strikes that one final blow….that’s the cycle and that’s what we have to contend with every day and most days we don’t allow our conscience to dwell or think about it.

The idea for this post has been in the making for months and I’ve had it in my head for longer than I can recall but all the pieces were not quite there yet until I came across a unique pose from SamPoses at Pose Fair. “The Fallen Angel” is exactly as it says it is with a kneeling battered wings with missing feathers and a bit of blood.

It was the last piece I needed to finally filter this idea from out of my head.

At the beginning I had purchased the Distorted Dreams “Lost Time” skybox and wanted so badly to do something with it but I just couldn’t come up with anything and so I kept it in my inventory in plain sight that I could use it the moment I had something to go with it. I love the apocalyptic broken clock tower vibe that it gives off; it also plays into what I’ve said just a few paragraphs ago as well.

Go& See released a set of eyes around Halloween last year that I’ve been itching to use as well because of the skybox, one of the eyes in the pack is a clock and thought it was a great addition to the whole atmosphere of what I had in my head visually. All of the eyes that are from Go&See are for CATWA branded eyes and will only work with them, which if you do not have a pair with a head or standalone you are missing out.

My good friend (and sister from another Mister) Lee Valentine of the LV Designs brand released a new skin at The Darkness event (if you recall in the previous post, “Shin” is also from the same brand so I am piggybacking yeah!) It is called “Angel” and comes in two tones both of which are compatible with Stray Dog tones 01 and 02 and there are two different HUDs for each tone. Not only is there a regular version of the face (with and without brows) but also a “Fallen” version with goth type lipstick and guyliner.

As much as I wanted to use the “Fallen” version in this blog entry it just did not work with the theme overall but I really think it was a great idea and concept so I’m going to give extra points to Lee for using some out of the box thinking for this release to make it even more cool and befitting of The Darkness event. The event runs until the 28th of April so you still have time to check this skin out and all the other cool items at the event.

Now that I’ve managed to finally get this idea out of my head it feels good to see it digitally in front of me and while a lot of times my thoughts are way more vivid than some of my skills can convey, this turned out nice enough that I am satisfied and can move on to one of the next visuals that I’ve had running around in my head recently or whatever may spring up spur of the moment when I see something outstanding that I want to feature right away. With that all said I am going to wrap this one up and leave you to browse the credits while there is one more day of weekend to freely get your shopping on.

While I was putting this look together I wasn’t quite sure where I wanted to go visually to present it on the pages of this blog; then I remembered I had the “Pills” pose from Reve Obscura. Looking at how I was dressed I looked like an athlete of some sort and I thought maybe if I find a cool gym to shoot at then I could kind of use the angle of someone who needs to use pills to keep themselves going or to keep their edge in whatever profession they are in.

That is where the soundtrack for this blog post comes in. Listening to it and really honing into the lyrics you can easily tell it is about the drug culture (more specifically in America but could easily apply to anywhere). It made a lot of sense to use it with the setting that my persona of an athlete taking medications (and most likely abusing them).

The Arcade opened up for it’s first event of 2018 and there were a lot of great products and machines and a mixture of different types of things, but there were only a small handful of things that caught my eye. I found myself trying to pick up certain figures in the Garbaggio SuperStars Vol. 2 collection (as well as help my buddy Kash out since I seem to have luck with them). The Gabriel machine has a really cool outfit which I didn’t have to play because my brother Ethan was nice enough to win me the important things (Thanks bubs!).

My favorite machine that is at the Arcade is the Versov “Beanie Gacha” which is pretty much filled with parts of an outfit for people who like skater wear (beanies, glasses…etc) but the one thing that put me over the top was the RARE sneakers which I am saving for an upcoming blog because I love the shoes I am wearing in this look). I am wearing a plain beanie from the Gacha but there is a RARE version that has color change and I like that kind of customization; it’s very high on my list when it comes to clothing and accessories. The beanie has a resizer installed in it and I only had to do a minor bit of adjusting but it nearly fit perfect right out of the gates.

Kustom9 is where you can find these super awesome sneakers from VALE KOER, named the “Squid Attack Trainers” and I love the brands customization so much that I went with the FATPACK. I did my best to recreate one of the styles of shoe they had for sale individually because it reminded me a lot of the White Ranger and his Tigerzord from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (yes there is a pop culture nugget for you!) It also happens to be some of the colors of my favorite NFL team, the New Orleans Saints. Another funny little nugget of a personal nature is that these remind me quite a bit of my bowling shoes (that are patterned after Michael Jordan) that are red and black. I could easily create an in-world version of those and I think I might in a future blog entry.

The shorts are currently being featured at the latest round of Hipster Men’s Event and come in 5 different colors (sold individually or all together in a FATPACK). The colors you get are (Caramel, Charcoal, Coffee, Goya and Smoke). I chose these for the fact that most shorts I own in reality are this length and I just have a small hang-up about shorts that are too short. Millo Copperfield has been appearing at more and more events recently and I saw somewhere on social media that there will be a store in-world soon as well which is great to see from a brand that is gaining momentum. Before I forget, the shorts come in sizes for Belleza and Signature (Gianni).

My first encounter with the brand LOB was at the February round of The Men’s Jail and I saw their “TOGYM Sport” set. I waited on it because I knew that I wanted to use it but I didn’t have an idea for it quite yet so I waited to purchase it until I started planning out the look for this blog post and had a use for it. You get a pair of workout gloves that have some kind of currency stuck in the side of the right glove. The tanktop is definitely one you would see a serious gym goer wearing to help keep themselves toned and defined. There is a HUD included that you can choose what kind of tank you want to wear (solid color or with a skull graphic). Sizing for the tank include Belleza, Signature (Gianni) and SLink and if you are looking for a great workout tank and gloves this would definitely be one of the best that I’ve seen on the grid. Take a look at their in-world store as I will have a taxi for you in the credits below (I know I’ll be taking a closer look at them!)

For my last pic I wanted to give you a more up close look of the Versov beanie to see more of it’s excellent texturing as well as more of the action of the “Pills” pose from Reve Obscura that I mentioned at the beginning of the entry. The package for the pose comes with the static bento pose and also the mesh pill bottle/pills as well as the cap. They even included transferable versions so if you would be posing someone that they would be able to use the props as well which I think is fantastic and should be something pose creators that use props like this do more of. It certainly couldn’t hurt and help photographers and bloggers who have friends or models that are not themselves posing for them.

Back by popular (or unpopular as it’s yet to be determined) demand is Hipster Santa, ready to deliver gifts to all the nerds and cool kids out there. With there being a second pose for men in the Naughty List series by Image Essentials, I had one more opportunity to totally nail the look for “bad” Santa and I think I totally got it. I decided to not to show more skin than I did the last time to kind of differentiate between the two looks.

With the Christmas holiday coming up this is likely my second and final holiday post of 2017. I usually only do a small handful as I have in the past I don’t want to saturate it too much as personally I’m not overly celebratory. For me personally it is a small doses type deal as I generally even try to avoid listening to holiday music up until the last week and a half if I can manage it but with many retail places in the world starting theirs right after Halloween it’s difficult to avoid. On the brighter side though I do have more reasons to be cheerful in 2017.

A big thanks to Image Essentials, Modulus and MESANGE (brand partners) for their contributions in making this blog entry what it is. As I was taking the photos, I had a feeling that it was going to turn out better than I initially expected because frankly I did not feel the last post I did as “Hipster Santa” turned out the way I wanted it to. I think it was due to the fact that I could have done a better job with decorating the scene for it as it lacked something but I couldn’t place my finger on it.

It also helps that this time I found a backdrop that was simplistic but didn’t feel as if it needed anything extra and it is something I picked up at the previous round of Cosmopolitan. On a side note I’m going to say that Paparazzi has been on a roll lately with their backdrops; I have been finding things that should be showing up in future blog entries so keep a watchful eye out on those.

This look has been a little fun to work with (can’t deny that) and I’ve gotten a few comments about it from colleagues and friends. That’s one of the things that this site is about is creating conversations and expanding on some of them (both the good and the bad). While this is not my last entry before the holidays I want to take the time while I’m in that mood to wish everyone a happy holiday and wish seasons greetings to all.
