[#496] Can We Get Out Of Here?

So do you want to turn it around?
And do you want to show me how?

CHRVCHES, ♫Get Out

Once again I find myself going outside of my normal and the more I think about it the more I am starting to get comfortable with creating blog entries with my normal self not being the main focus and allowing Brena to come to the forefront and allow me to tackle that part of my creative side. The preparation is a little bit different for doing things with her as the “star” of the photo because it takes more time setting up and putting an outfit together but I find it fun.

Lately I’ve been also thinking about other ways to be a bit more organized when it comes to blogging items that are from brands that are partners of this blog. There are certain items I feel that I’m not the best at describing so I’ve thought of ways to get the information about them to any potential readers and by looking at some of what my peers might do but doing it more in a TCK flavor.

Starting soon enough I’ll be using feature points (bullets) to let people know more about the product as well as what I personally think about it so that there’s factual information that is easy to read as well as my personal thoughts or reasons for why I’m wearing it as I feel it is one of the best ways to move forward and not only help myself but to visitors who read the site (and I am aware of several who do and I thank you for continually returning).

Getting back to this post in particular and using TCK’s female extraordinaire, Brena, I’ve learned that you can definitely find new places to shop as well as items that are gifts or are very low price and for those of you who have never visited it, I think you should check out the FabFree In SL blog. I’m not affiliated with them (nor have I ever met any of the site authors) but they have been around long enough (before I even started blogging) to bring news about what gifts are out there or sales are happening. Excellent site and it’s helped me tremendously as I don’t have nearly as much depth in Brena’s closet as I do for Brennan. On occasion they do have posts for men’s items too so definitely worth a glance.

I‘ve been a blogger for Image Essentials for a good while now, I’ve at least made it through two cycles and I’m grateful for the opportunities to blog for the brand. The owner and blogger manager are people I’d vouch for in a heartbeat and they’ve given me opportunities to go outside of the box as I’d been told more than once that I needed a little bit of freshness (and being stubborn as I am, I took this advice to heart without being combative). One way I can display some of their poses that would not work as greatly for me will work excellently for Brena and that’s what I did here.

They’ve recently released a set called “Heat” at the Jersey Shore Fair and it was really fun and hard to decide what to use in the photo. Maybe I’ll try out this features idea sooner than later and give you a bit more information on these poses, what do ya say? Well I’m doing it anyway so join me for the ride. The Jersey Shore Fair lasts until the 30th of June so plenty of time for a trip to the event and see these poses for yourself.

  • Bento enabled poses
  • 10 poses included (5+5 mirrors)

Brena is also wearing one of the latest eye packs from Go&See that are newly available at the anyBODY event. The eyes are called Cosmo and honestly I really enjoy the creativity that goes into these eyes. I decided it didn’t hurt to have a head from most of the major brands so I recently went to CATWA to get her one of her very first Bento enabled heads because not only do the Go&See skins look really good on the one I purchased but I’m also able to use their eyes and that gives me so much to work with. Here are just a few features for the “Cosmo” eyes:

  • 10 different iris colors
  • CATWA only appliers
  • Can be worn by any gender (unisex)

The anyBODY event also runs to the end of the month so if you find yourself out shopping here’s another destination for you to take a look at but just so you are aware it is mostly a female oriented event so there’s probably not too much a fella would be interested in other than maybe getting a gift for someone which there’s nothing wrong with in my mind.

As I was looking over the FabFree blog that I mentioned earlier, there are a fair amount of really good items that are group gifts (not all groups have a fee but some do and the price varies but with some of the gifts being offered it’s well worth it). I found the “Lora” dress which is a group gift of the MH Unique store to which there is no cost to join and there are plenty of other group gifts as well for you to take a peek at. What really caught my eye is how colorful it is and it wowed me even more while I was taking photos; the various colors in it just popped out at me with the type of light that I used when I set the scene up.

While I have quite a few items that were involved with this blog such as makeup and shoes and hair (which was part of the VIP group for TRUTH, the group costs 350L but so darn worth it for you gals that are hair enthusiasts) that I think I would lose anyone reading if I went any further into detailing my look. The items are not new releases but of course you’ll have a ride to them in the credits down below if you want to investigate further and I always say that if something appeals to you it doesn’t hurt to at least check it out.

That about wraps it up for this blog post but as I start to get more comfortable with using feature points they’ll certainly be better and more entertaining in some way. So until our paths cross again,

onto the next conversation…

[#492] There’s A Light Up Ahead

Take this heart of darkness
I give it up
and all the emptiness
you fill it up
The times that I feel nothing
you bring enough
So I can live for something
You lift me up!

Further Seems Forever, ♫Light Up Ahead

June is now upon us and it seems like time sure does fly because it just feels like the year just started but we’re already halfway through it. The start of a new month means the restocked events that we love like FaMESHed, The Men’s Department, and of course for those of you Gachapon addicts…THE ARCADE! I hope that while I’m working to get caught up with things that I’ll have items from all these events so that you can get a taste of them from my perspective.

It’s been a while since I’ve covered anything from the Shiny Shabby event so I find myself in luck that my good people at Modulus have released a new hair at the event that honestly has me super excited. It seems a bit suspect that I’m totally gaga over a product by a brand that I’m a blogger for but if you know anything about me then you know that I blog for brands that I love and believe in and Modulus is one of those at the top and I’ve been a blogger for them from just about the beginning and it can easily be verified with little effort.

Okay! The details about this latest Modulus release from Shiny Shabby…the hair is named “Godfrey” and what makes this different from most of the releases is that you really do not need a hairbase for this. It is a parted hair with the side part built right into it without needing a hairbase as I just mentioned. Sometimes I have to resize hair to fit and make it look like it should on my head but I had to do very little with this and it’s made the “Godfrey” one of my top 5 faves of the hair releases in the last 6 months or so since Modulus started releasing products in the Alpha hair line.

40 different color options to choose from broken down into 5 different color HUDs all with an integrated color picker to add an extra bit of flavor in a sense. Of course you can purchase the packs separately or you can get all of them in a FATPACK for extra savings and then not worry about that moment when you wish you had bought more than one pack because you’re feeling like a change. I honestly think this hairstyle is old school cool and a bit vintage as well as unique because you don’t see anything like it out on the grid (but I have a feeling that it is going to trend but you saw it from Modulus first!)

Shiny Shabby is currently going strong and you have until the 15th of June to take a look at this great hair and add it to your style closet.

Go&See has released quite a few products lately including several eye packs as well as the skin that Brena is wearing, who as you can see has tagged along for this photo because I thought it would be a fun idea to throw her into the mix a bit more when I can and the ideas are there. I’ll get more to her in a bit but first I will tell you all about my peepers.

“Sparkle” is just one of two packs of the same name that you can currently find at the SaNaRae event and it is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul; it could also be said that these eyes are a good visual to prove that fact. There are 10 different color iris’ to choose from and I went with the closest blue to what my real eyes look like. The detail of them is super stunning and I’m not sure any photo taken in-world can do them justice, it is just something that has to be seen for itself.

They can easily be used for every day or you could use them also for any kind of role-playing situation you might find yourself in (if that is one of your hobbies). SaNaRae has just recently opened so there is plenty of time but in case your wallet has taken a pounding from The Arcade, you still have until the 18th of June to catch these eyes.

Lately I’ve been using a lot of poses from the store, WRONG, but with good reason as I really do love the poses that are made and also the collabs they do with The Owl store as well. It helps me create things that I have in my head a little bit easier which makes putting things together slightly less manic and stressful. I’ve been to several events they’ve released new products at and couldn’t resist picking them up knowing that even if I didn’t use them right that second that I would have a use for them.

I’m not sure how the numbering really works with them but this pose pack is the “Bento Static Male Poses – 37” which if they’ve come out with 37 different pose sets…that’s really super impressive! The somewhat funny part is that I likely have 3/4 of them and likely would go to their store and claim the ones that I previously didn’t own. To be perfectly honest I’d love to blog for them someday and maybe that could be a reality but for now that’s not a point. This pack contains 4 different bento static stand poses of high quality.

You can find this pose set at the current round of Ultra which the doors will close for this round on the 10th of June which gives you over a week to go take a look at their booth which has other pose sets as well so there’s plenty of posing options for you and your photography.

Brena has come out to assist me for this post and she has a little bit of everything going on with her look, some things older and previously blogged as noted and a few things that may not be new but are new to her along with one new product at a current event, so let’s dive into the specifics shall we?

Earlier in the post I talked about new releases from Go&See which one of them were the eyes I am wearing and the other is “Tina”, the skin that Brena is wearing. This is the first time I’ve used a skin from Go&See that was not male and I’m rather impressed by all the options that come along with them as far as brows and freckles for the face and all the body skin options.

The face skin works for both Catwa and Omega enabled mesh heads which is great for me because Brena’s noggin of choice is LeLutka’s “Chloe”. I felt that when I was putting her together I didn’t want to give her a CATWA head because I know so many people with them that I wanted to diversify from it. There is also a plus that the HUDs for the head are ridiculously awesome and are jam packed with features. However, with that said there’s always pro’s and con’s to everything which I won’t get into here because then it would turn a simple blog into nearly a manifesto of some sort.

Getting back to the face, it comes in 8 tones (Albi, Goth, Pale, Summer, Tan, Dark Tan, Tropic, and Cola) with 5 brow options (No brows, white brows, light brows, dark brows, and brow with freckles) which gives you a lot of options to find that right combination to make your girl face super pretty! The body appliers in the same 8 tones as the face skins are sold separately and have so many options that it just blows my mind and would take me forever to try to explain them all so I’m going to give you the abridged version. There are several styles of breasts as well as butts which also gives you a lot of customization to work with all on an Omega applier which will work for just about every body out there.

For attire she tagged the lucky boards at Petit Mort and came home with a flowery camisole and some jeans. She did also get some really great rose printed flats but those didn’t make it into the shot so I may have to photograph them down the line because they are really nice and well worth hanging around the store for the first letter of your name to spring up.

By now I’m sure you’ve either skipped to the credits or just got tired of reading altogether and I don’t blame you because I do tend to get wordy when I get on a roll with writing these things but if you managed to make it here to the end I applaud you and thank you for taking the time to see what all I had to say. Hopefully soon I’ll be getting back to a more regular schedule with blog posts, it’s been a seemingly wild past month but the ideas are still inside my brain and I look forward to sharing them.

Until our paths cross again…onto the next conversation
