Couples poses can have different categories and meanings. It isn’t just for the relationship and romantic variety of photography that it usually gets associated with. They can also be considered action shots or even friends and family pics depending on the pose itself. CuCa Poses mixes a bit of action and romance with the “Ride Or Die” poses sets currently available at Pose Fair. This is the first pose set in the group and as you can see there could be action taking place before or after the scene I put together. There is even a slight hint of romance there and has a movie quality about it.
I’m also excited that Cold-Ash released two new items at the beginning of this month. The “Hawthorne Shirt (Plaid Pack)” is a part of the March round of The Men’s Department. Being that I am a sucker for button down flannel shirts this really was a must for my closet. To go along with it is the “MILES Casual Chino Pants” which is available at the Cold-Ash store. These are great for when you aren’t feeling jeans but won’t be going anywhere that requires dress pants. Anyone that is a fan of Cold-Ash will definitely want to grab these up.

One of the things I’ve always enjoyed about blogging is the challenges you can bring about to your creativity. Using both male and female items for my photos and virtual photography is something I enjoy because I can think outside of the box as some people say. Being a gamer who has had eons of experience with so when I saw the releases from Lush Poses at Pose Fair, I decided to see what I could pull together and do it with a twist. It would be so easy for me to do it with my normal every day look but to pull off a female look…now that is a challenge.
“Naughty Gamer Girl” is a pose set that comes with a controller prop and a bean bag prop filled with 8 different poses. I thought they were rather tasteful and they could also be used for seductive type photos if someone wanted to go that direction. There’s a lot of ways that it could be looked at but each pose is professionally made. Lush has been one of my favorites to utilize through Pose Fair over my years involved with the event and I definitely encourage anyone to give their sets at the event a look and then also go take a look around their store in-world.
With that said I believe I’ve inspired myself to go pick up my controller and do some gaming myself. Life imitates art in a sense!

Today is another gloomy one here and I decided that I was going to infuse some warm weather vibes into my artistry. For the look that I’ve put together for this entry I have some fun things from Skin Fair that I really think are fantastic. It’s amazing just how many great stores are a part of this event and every year it just gets better and better in my estimation. From looking at works from my fellow event bloggers I am amazed at the creativity and looks everyone is putting together.
Amuse Bouche has several skins for sale at Skin Fair and when it came to me choosing one it was difficult so I did some consulting and the consensus was that Cassie paired with the Genus Baby Face W002 which is almost making its debut at the event, were the best choices. The skin itself is Bakes On Mesh tattoo layer with a brow and non brow in the pack. The skin only comes in golden which a little bit more colorful than the usual pale tones I go with but it’s not entirely tanned. The body appliers are sold separately so if you don’t have any previously releases by this store then you would need to get them.
I’ve also added a little bit of color to the lips of this look by using the Babe Lips applier by TheMars. This pack has 10 different tones of reddish tint lip gloss that is applied via HUD. The version I am using is for Genus branded heads but it is also being sold for CATWA heads as well so there are at least two different brands that it can be used for.
Many of you know about the great singles and couples poses being offered at the 10th anniversary round of the Pose Fair but did you also know that most if not all the booths offer gifts as well just for browsing their booth? I thought it would be a great idea if I presented one of the gifts and I chose one of two “Signals” poses by PRINT. I thought this best fit the idea of being on the beach and just enjoying the sun soaked day by listening to the music that was in my head. I love the hand gestures in the pose as I tend to do those a lot in various things (even when nobody is watching or looking). I certainly encourage anyone that hasn’t stopped by their stall at the event to check out this gift and their other poses because I don’t think there would be any regrets.

For a time (probably in my teens) I had this thing for Tennis. It was like this fascination I had with it even though it can be really boring for some people to watch. It was something that at least inspired me to get out and get fresh air and get exercise even when I wasn’t completely good at it. I would watch all the Grand Slam events on television and cheer for my favorites like Andre Agassi and jeer my least favorites like Pete Sampras. It was all in part to the influence my brother had on me and the things he liked were kind of an impression on me.
I find it really funny in a way that many years later I am like super excited to see well made tennis poses. OsTentatoN has three tennis themed sets out right now at the Pose Fair that I think for photographers and bloggers will really enjoy creating fun looks and be reminded that warm weather (at least for us in the US) is coming soon.
TennisCouple is a set of poses 4 can be purchased as single packs but there is an advantage of getting the FatPack because it includes one extra pose that you cannot get unless you do. Each set comes with a supplied mesh racket for both men and women (except in the pose I’m using which only the female one is needed). The great thing about it is that it comes with it’s own court backdrop (which is a clay court). It’s really well done and the textures on it are details but if I could have made one suggestion is that the court could have had a texture changer for those who prefer grass or hard courts as well. Clay was never my favorite to watch but it was amusing to see the tennis players white uniforms get destroyed with the orange of the clay that seemed to always get on them.
This set is available right now exclusively at Pose Fairs 10th Anniversary Round and it runs through the end of the month. Take a look at this pack and some of the other fun works by OsTentatioN while you are there!

It’s a new month and that means tons of new things appearing in new rounds of events and also the return of annual events. I think now that I’ve been blogging female centric items for a bit the feeling of awkwardness has completely burned away (it’s a completely different thing to have an alt or at least that’s how I feel). This post felt from top to bottom like I knew what I was doing and am pretty jazzed about the outcome (windlight, outfit, angle and lighting all falling right into place).
The most exciting part about this blog is that it kicks off my coverage of Vintage Fair and for those of you that might be stumbling onto this site for the first time or you are even new to the world of Second Life, let me explain a little bit about this event.
Vintage Fair is a collection of Clothing & Accessories, Furniture and also poses all theme for a certain past decade or time period (this year is dedicated to anything prior to the 1980’s which covers a lot of ground). The event is taking place from the 7th of June through the 16th and is being brought to us by Pale Girl Productions and Schutlz Bros. (who make very nice mesh buildings and furniture). Sponsors for the event include but is not limited to: The Annex, LAQ, Hair SL and Euphoric.
The first two items featured are both from Ohemo (bloggers are suppose to blog more than one item of different designers but I’d finished this before that information reached me so I apologize in advance and will make sure my other posts are right I promise!) The hat I have on is one of two that are going to be for sale at the event and between “LOVE” and “COOL” I chose the latter as I prefer when everything around me is cool. Also take note that I am featuring the fatpack version as at the actual event there may be singular versions as well.
This hat has a HUD with 4 different areas (top, middle, lower and “cool”) that can be colored and with 18 colors for each face to allow you a distinct and unique hat style that is true to your style and help you to look pretty sweet just roaming around events like Vintage Fair or just taking a day at the beach. This is just the thing I like when it comes to fatpacks…the more colors the better so I can dictate what I’m feeling at the moment I put it on.
Accessorizing with the hat, I’m also wearing the “Nancy Retro Shades” which are super stylish with a Ray-Ban vibe but with an added touch of the metal studs in the front of the frames. There are also four faces (Frame, Sides, Lenses and Screws) that can be color changed with the frames/sides each having 18 colors, the lenses having 5 and the screws with 2. To be honest if I don’t see people out on the grid wearing these or blogging them I’d be a little disappointed because of how well made they are; not to mention that it is near summer and sunglasses are pretty much mandatory!

To go along with my warm weather vibes I’ve got a new release from Lapointe & Bastchild that can be found at the latest round of Uber. They have a separate outfit release and I chose to feature the “April Crocheted Top” to go along with the rest of my upper body items and not end up cutting anything out of my main shot.
The HUD included with the FATPACK version has two pages of color styles and I played around with the different colors to fit the scene until I made my final decision but it has a lot of excellent choices to choose from and has the quality that you can expect from L&B. It definitely matches well with the “May Kayla Pants” which I am sure that I will be blogging in the time to come.

For those of who you are planning to visit Vintage Fair, I feel it would be helpful to show you the maps and landmarks for both North and South sims so that when the event does open you will have your game plan as to which sim you want to rush to first to pick up your fun new items. There are so many wonderful creators and their stores taking part in this event.
Also remember that with the first few days it will likely be very busy on both sims so do not get disenchanted with getting in, there will be plenty of time during the event for everyone to get the items they want.
Rejoice as summer should…chase away sorrows by living.

This week is going to be rather trying as the grid will be going through a series of maintenance which is happening through the 16th. I’m hoping that I can wade through all the interruptions and nuisances to continue coverage of Pose Fair as I am doing so in this entry. I’ve done a bit of everything so far with some male poses, a fun couples pose and I’m doing another one here. Perhaps I may even do something I’ve not attempted a whole lot but I don’t want to spill any details just in case that I’m unable to get it to work.
Ebano Poses is certainly a new store to me but being a part of the Pose Fair is a great way to add to an existing fan base. This couples pose prop is appropriately titled “Our Moments” because it’s a very nice little piece with some stones as well as flowers to make an existing scene even better, as I have by taking it at the Candlewood sim.
With five different couples poses embedded into the prop, creating that special moment with you and that special person is as easy as it can be. I had a hard time deciding on which pose to use but I think that the right choice was made for a well thought out finished photo.

As a blogger for Lapointe & Bastchild I’ve been given the opportunity to blog some excellent items and I’ve added to my repertoire now that I’m able to do female featured items. This is the first of likely many items I will blog for them as they do tend to create more items for the ladies as it is a larger market and more in demand but that’s okay! I’m going to run with being able to show off all the great things this store makes and maybe in turn help some of the male readers find things for their person or female readers have something to gain from it as well.
Uber is where the Olivia Dress Set has made its debut and holy heck there are a lot of options with the Fatpack which is what I’m featuring. The dress can be worn in whole but it also comes with the top and skirt as separate pieces. The HUD that comes with it allows you to style from floral patterns to light and dark solid colors (mixing and matching is possible as well.
With the choice of scenery the floral option looked really great and I felt like there was no other need to test any other colors.

Perhaps if I’m confident enough I may even do two blogs with female centric items back to back as it seems as if those are never in short supply and I’m feeling pretty creative in that area right now. I’m not going to rule anything out because when an idea strikes it is best not to stifle it (I know that it could easily lead to a block and I’m definitely not interested in that).
The only other item that’s recent in both of the avatar looks is the Truth VIP Hair that Brenna was wearing in our Car Wash blog, I believe that it is still available but you may want to hurry so that you don’t miss out on it because it’s a pretty neat style. I’m not even going to lie that when it comes to women’s hair their is just so much more out there and gives bloggers a lot to work with. Hopefully more and more designers other than the top tier usual suspects (Lock&Tuft, Modulus and Vango) will step up for us guys too.

With the final days of Pose Fair approaching (it ends tomorrow October 31st) I wanted to squeeze in one more item that reminded me a little bit of one of my favorite movies, which is a perennial cult classic that is shown quite often during October in most places and one that I watch as part tribute/part tradition and have for years now.
In “The Crow” during flashbacks of the life he lived before his violent death, Eric Draven and his fiancee Shelly Webster are shown in a field of flowers with vivid colors and in a way I wanted to recapture that in my own style by dancing with my most favorite person of all. I’ve pretty done a facsimile of scenes from the movie for several years of this blogs existence and thought maybe I would do it differently this year.
Normally I also don’t do showtunes but sometimes you have to compromise when it is something that has meaningful words. While I have never seen “The Greatest Showman” it is actually on my list of things to eventually get around to watching as I don’t completely rule out watching any sort of movie as I’m probably one of only a select handful of people who might admit they’ve seen “The Notebook” but I thought the story was good.
The theme that has been chosen for the soundtrack of this blog post has quite a bit of meaning if you listen to it and along with the photo makes a lot of sense to me to use it so I can thank my wife for showing it to me (as I had asked her to suggest something and she came through like she always does).
The only new release that I am featuring in this scene is the pose, which is from CORPUS and called “Time Lapse”. It’s a very sweet couples pose that fits the two of us doing something as spontaneous as dancing in a field of marigolds on the Whimberley sim, which I have not visited in a very long time and am happy that it is still alive and kicking and looking as great as ever; it is truly a unique place to explore and to take someone you care about with you as you roam around.
Available exclusively @ Pose Fair until Oct. 31st so hurry!!!
That is really all for this blog post which gives me more time to see what I can whip up for a Halloween photo tomorrow (because it’s my favorite day of the year of course!) I really hope that visitors enjoy this post as much as I did shooting it as it shows a different side of me that doesn’t always show up in the pages of this blog but am trying to more and more when possible.
I shall finalize this by giving you the credits below for what I’m wearing and also what my wife is wearing as well as the taxi for you to visit Whimberley to go explore when time permits. It is a really wonderful place that you can just walk around and relax and just have an overall good feeling. So until our paths cross once again, it’s onto the next conversation…
