Session Skins recently released a new skin just for Catwa called Rocco in Tone 02. It’s designed specifically for the Stanley head which is what I’m using but it’s entirely possible that it would look just as good with other heads from the same brand. Rocco comes packaged with a Catwa applier HUD that offers a clean face, beard and no brow versions; there is also Bakes On Mesh for those who have been bitten by that bug. There are quite a few pros and cons about it that I haven’t completely bought in but as I keep saying, I’m not ruling out using it.

Hopefully creators don’t stop using HUD based appliers in the future in favor of completely adopting to this revamped feature.

The Men’s Department is in full swing with their February round and the latest clothing merchandise from Cold-Ash will be sure to make the girls swoon and break some hearts. The Finch V-neck Sweater is multi-functional in that you can wear it as it is (as you can see in my photo) or make use of the shirt and tie add-on. If you want formal or casual it truly is the best of both worlds.

There are times after I see several product ads in a short span that inspire me to put a look/scene together and that’s what brought out this blog post. My music knowledge stretches a long time and my mental catalogue helps me put together themes for some of the photos that I take (whether the music is good, bad or even cheesy).

Paparazzi just released a pair of nerdy sunglasses at Equal10 and that was enough to get me out to the event on the first day so that I could grab them to use for this shot. I had an 80’s type vibe in my head for it with the Animosity pose pack which is a bicycle prop/pose set. It had me itching to find a location to bring my idea to life. Ideally I wanted a location that was city like with streets and buildings and such and while I was going over some of my resources for locations I came across [SL] Amsterdam and I thought I’d take a look around.

When I arrived at [SL] Amsterdam I didn’t know what to expect really because in my mind I’d be thinking it would be a quick walk and I’d see brothels and all sorts of things that wouldn’t be productive to a photo shoot but this place is definitely not quite what I thought it was. It’s a very quiet type setting with buildings and brick roads with a lot of bicycles all over and that told me this definitely was the place.

Not to get to sidetracked I’m going to get back to Paparazzi. I am really excited that Drew is branching out to do more things because the backdrops he makes are just stellar and I really like trying to find creative ways to use them when the time is right and the fact that through a few of the conversations I’ve had with him he is a cool guy and supporting his brand is important to me. My hair is also coincidentally from the Equal10 event and is from Modulus. The Cooper hair is a short hairstyle that you can choose to have regular or faded sides with and it will still look great. While it is a short style it is a little bit longer in the front than it is in the back so you have a few wisps of hair just lightly resting against your forehead. Cooper is a style that I consider would be very trendy and can work for all seasons (even though virtually there are none).

I like the fact that Modulus releases new styles so frequently (even if it seems a bit hard to catch up as a blogger) because they all have different qualities about them that allow a blogger such as myself to be able to dress and style myself in different ways and can have a hair that I personally feel works with that outfit choice. During my process of choosing how I want to style myself I tend to base the rest off of what hairstyle I have first and work with that and I have a variety to work with.

One thing I know that I can likely expect when it comes to digging into all the fun things that come with being a blogger for The Men Jail is that the Purfect brand is going to release a beard each round and 4 out of 5 times I truly want to wear it (like in an every day type of capacity). The style of these beards seem to really fit my style and they look good and are made well.

Mesh Beard A 016 which is the designation it has been given can best be described as a style where you’ve had your beard shaped to look like several claws or even sharp teeth would be a good way to describe it if I wasn’t providing a better visual of it in the photos. It reminds me of several styles I have seen worn by real life people some of them are known as entertainers. I remember before mesh beards were actually achievable and once they were and also bento arriving and getting things to fit right there, I had a legacy tattoo beard of almost this exact style so it is nice to be able to kind of go back to a style that I’ve worn before.

With the type of scene that I was photographing I thought that it would be best if I wore sneakers go to along with the bike pose from Animosity. Riding a bike with anything other than shoes (barefoot or with boots are counter productive and not fun for anyone who has ever tried). I was in luck that my people at Native Urban just released the “Tomorrow” sneakers at The Men’s Department.

One of the praises I can sing about footwear made by this brand besides the attention to detail that is taken is the amount of customization that can be achieved with these sneakers. Just about any color combination that you could think of that you might want is at your fingertips with the FATPACK HUD. You might think well I might only want one or two pairs but if you think about savings you’d be making by getting the whole thing (and you really do save money if you were even thinking about purchasing two different basic colorways).

Two things truly inspired me more for this blog post than anything and I’ve already talked about the Papazzi RetroNerd Shades but I was quite pleased when I saw an ad for the Animosity pose set that is a part of the yearly Men Only Hunt now going in it’s 11th iteration. The “Billy” Pose pack consists of a mesh bicycle with poses that have the user riding or just chilling with the bike.

I really love the creativity behind this pose set but if there’s on thing that I might have done differently is I would have made the bike have an option to change the color. I love black but having different options would help in certain lighting to be able to capture it better but take it for what it is, my opinion and nothing more. As I said I love the set but that is what I would have done differently.

After a successful shopping excursion to Shiny Shabby and The Men’s Department, I pulled some other items from my closet to put together a look to go with the one of the items from Modulus’ blogger pack from Hair Fair 2017. If you haven’t been to the fair yet and are able to easily get in, you’ll find there are a modest amount of male hair styles but not nearly the same amount as the gals. With that said, you’ll still find something to bring home with you in your shopping bag to wow those around you and without any further interruption here’s the credits for this entry.

As I previously mentioned, these items came as a part of a blogger pack straight from Modulus. Though to be honest even if I wasn’t a blogger and saw this at Hair Fair, I would have bought it for the simple fact it is a hairstyle I like and have worn before by other designers. It fits Catwa heads pretty well so that is a plus but I haven’t tried it on anything else. Good news is that it is re-sizeable so for those of you that do not have or are currently using a Catwa brand mesh head it should still fit for you.

Catwa Clip is at it again! After the release of the “Stanley” mesh head last month at the ULTRA event, she’s bolstered her male bento head collection with a new face. “Shaheen” is a little more subtle with his features compared to the previous release and fits somewhere in the middle between it and the first release, “Daniel”. I like that it isn’t as rugged but still has great masculine appeal for those who are not high on rock hard jawlines. You can get this at the CATWA main location right now!

Having a new mesh head made me think that I should make my next entry with a new skin to go along with it and I did not have to wait long. The newest round of The Men’s Department features several new skins but this go round I decided to start out with one of my new favorites and the latest release by Stray Dog. “Lewis” is definitely one of those charming fellas that has an intelligent yet sexy look to him. As with most releases from Stray Dog, it is a Catwa applier and is packaged with a shape and brow base but you can always use an alternative of your choice.

This item is one that I had originally purchased at one of the rounds of the Signature Event but did not get to during it’s initial run but I do like to try to give things that are still relatively recent an opportunity to fit a look that I’m putting together and the opportunity came for this sweater. It’s one of those that you could wear on a cool day or evening at the beach and wouldn’t just limit you to wearing it in the winter time. I like how the left arm is pushed just up to the forearm while on the right side it hangs a bit baggy at the wrists. I am wearing this for the Signature body but the package also includes sizes for Classic Avatars (Fitmesh) and also TMP mesh bodies.

Another item that managed to slip into my closet and get lost when it was released at TMD in a previous round. I like that these aren’t your typical rolled up cuff jeans or skinny jeans. They have a little bit of bagginess without looking like you’ve filled your pants as it were and they come down to about the calf in length which gives you the option to wear low or hi-tops or even boots that are ankle length. They’ve got standard sizes for classic avi’s and sizes for Belleza Jake, SLink Physique, as well as Signature Gianni (which is what I am wearing) and TMP.

Finally there is an item from NOeditiON that I know will work well for mesh bodies because there are several fits for this classic low-top sneaker. Several colors to choose from (unless you pick up the FATPACK as I did) with a light mesh side panel which has a little bit of transparency. It does also have a version for the gals which has a bit of a floral pattern in the side panel. I really like this shoe and with it actually having sizes for Signature Gianni and SLink Physique for the guys as well as Maitreya and SLink for the gals.

IE – Mellow v2 (9) ♯ ☆NEW☆ @ Square 1

Square 1 is one of those events that is newer on the scene and I’m still getting acquainted with it but I did receive a blogger pack from Image Essentials containing the “Mellow” V1 and V2 pose sets. Each set has 10 poses included (5 regular and 5 mirrored). They are great for any kind of scene where whoever is posing is in a seated position. These poses are bento so depending on the size of your avatar frame you may need to do some adjusting to ensure that it looks the way it is supposed to.

I hope you enjoyed this post which in a way is basically a post 4th of July setting with my outfit consisting of red, white, and blue items. I will be back again soon with more items from Hair Fair 2017 and a look at a few things from the Summerfest ’17 event. TGIF!!! Also for those of you who are Irish (and to those who find a way to be Irish) Happy St. Patty’s Day!

I hope everyone has had as productive a week as it seems I have. Now that the weekend approaches it’ll be time to recover from all the great events and shopping that’s been done. For this entry today I ‘ve taken a break from my coverage of Skin Fair to bring some new items from TMD from brands such as Modulus and ::K:: and also a new (and old) release from FLite.

Here’s the details…

Evan is the latest in the M-Bare line of skins from Modulus that was released for the current round of The Men’s Department. It has the options for brows or browless and also has built in facial hair if you choose to use it and there is also an option for a combination of both. I like how this skin paired up with the Miles shape from REACH.

I’ve got a double helping of ::K:: in the form of the “Leon Sarrouel” pants and the “Leon Singlet” which make a great matching pair and are currently also available at TMD. Inside the package there are sizes for [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, Standard and TMP body types.

Now I usually don’t have too many issues with clothing but I noticed that for the Leon Singlet which I am wearing for the Gianni body, when you alpha out the back to not make your skin poke out there is a space under your shoulder that looks like a bite has been taken out. Now without the alpha cuts there are spots that poke out from the back. I’m not making a huge gripe about it but I thought it was necessary to inform the readers of this and will be getting a hold of Mr. Ragu about it as well. It may not be an issue if you are standing still without an AO but everyone uses them these days so that might create and issue.

FLite has gone and done it again! They have refashioned one of their old releases so that it is compatible with female and male mesh body types. The “Retro” Gliders is a limited to 1000 product that is available now at their main location. It only is available as a Fatpack and gives you several out of the box options as well as the ability to color different parts yourself. Sizes include: Belleza, Maitreya, SLink and TMP for the ladies and for the fellas: SLink, TMP, and Standard sizes which could also be applicable for Unisex styling. These are definitely some cool kicks and I have always enjoyed the FLite brand.

For my hair, I have the “No Offence” which is what inspired me mostly for the theme of the post. I’m a pretty casual fan of the band, The Cure and the hair screamed the essence of frontman Robert Smith so I ran with it and tried my best to create a look that was reminiscent and used the MINIMAL Illusion #3 backdrop because it seemed very 80’s/90’s and was perfect for what I needed.

We are now on to the second installment of Skin Fair 2017 along with some 80’s inspiration. I was checking out shopping guides for events when I stumbled upon a new pose set from Chat Noir that just became available at the March round of 2nd Level. I knew right away that I had to have it so I went and picked it up and as I looked at the ad for the product I knew right away what I song I could use as a base for my next photo session.

Duran Duran was a part of my very early formative years as their songs were hits upon hits on the radio charts. Fast forward some years later and it made its way onto the soundtrack of one of my favorite console games of all time: Rock Band. Plenty of hours spent grooving to tunes such as “Hungry Like The Wolf”; it was easily a no brainer.

There are two Skin Fair 2017 submissions I have for all of you in this look. I’ll start off with the “Dimas” skin from Modulus. As with previous releases it comes with the default eyebrows look or you can go browless and use one of your own. Throw in a beard that you can combine with the brows or your own brows to finish. The style is yours to choose. It comes in the usual tones you can associate with most of the skins in the M-Bare line from Modulus.

The second item that I’m featuring is a shape from Reach called “Caleb” and I thought that the combination of the two turned out rather well. A bit of rugged handsomeness as our subject goes out on the prowl. As always with Reach products it does come with a brow shaper and style card for all the details of their ad picture. Once again I went outside the box with my own little experiment.

There is also something new from The Men’s Dept. I’m wearing the not so bad. “TIMEO”Jeans in the Used Stone denim. There are standard sizes, [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, and TMP to choose from and you also get a boot-cut version as well in the package. If this denim tone isn’t to your liking you can also head over there and get these in blue wash or regular stone.

I’ve also discovered a new hair creator that just released products at We ❤ RP. VoluptasVirtualis looks to be a very promising brand and after wearing their “Zeal” hair (for this I used the roots) version, I can tell you I am already a fan. The textures are nice and the hairbases are pretty good as well (which I believe are only included in the Fatpacks)

Just in time before the curtain call on the February/March round of Men Only Monthly I have a great item from ExalteD. It is a ripped tank top and with the version I’m wearing it has little blood splatters. To go along with this item they also have for sale scratch marks that are placed just along where one of the straps of the tank top is broken. Very cool idea which played into the idea for this photo session and made it that much more possible. The tank only comes in a size for the [SIGNATURE] Gianni body.

Last but not least I have the “Rhys” leather loafers which are currently available at The Crossroads. This style of shoe always peaks my interest so when I see one that comes along I always usually give it a try. The package comes with sizes for: Aesthetic, Gianni, SLink Physique, and Standard body feet with the use of an alpha layer.

So let the frenzy begin! It’s March 10th and you know what that means? That’s right…it’s time for Skin Fair. I’ve got plenty of coverage coming from this event and I’m excited to share with you.

Let’s start with Avi-Glam’s latest skin called “Kai”, it comes in 8 different tones (Ivory, Fair, Light, Honey, Latte, Tan, Dark, and Cocoa) with appliers for both [SIGNATURE] Gianni and TMP mesh body types. For the face it is only for CATWA mesh and bento heads.

I paired it with a recent release from Reach shapes. This specific shape is called “Asher” and you can get it at their main location as well as on their marketplace. I’m fast becoming a fan of this brand’s work and I’ve learned that you don’t have to follow their included style-cards to make yourself look great. I’ll be showing you their Skin Fair products in upcoming entries so keep an eye out for those.

I have a couple of items here from one of my fave clothiers on the grid, {COLD-ASH} that I am going to share with you. You might remember that I featured the RILEY straight leg jeans from the Signature Event a few posts back. Well now I am showing their boot cut version that is available also at the event until the 13th. It comes with the same denim color hud and also choices for changing the color of the belt or simply not having one at all. I might have mentioned that you also get three leg lengths: Low, Mid, and High depending on what type of boots you want to pair them up with.

At the current round of The Men’s Department, {COLD-ASH} has released the “MONTANA” shirt. It comes in two different color styles (Light and Classic) I would definitely recommend this item if you’re looking for a nice fitting shirt that you’d want to wear just about any day of the week. Not only does it have the plain color choices but it also has those colors with designated designs on them. It comes in the [SIGNATURE] Gianni size as well as Classic, SLink Physique, and TMP with a loose waist and slim waist option. You can’t afford not to pick this tee up, it definitely rocks.

Versus is back again with new items and new teams battling it out to see which brands are superior. I encourage you and anyone you know to check out this event as they have something for everyone and it’s fun to take part in the voting process and while I was there picked up some awesome new shoes to go with my look.

X.co has released the X-3 Yj sneakers which I have chosen the Black with White variation but there are a total of 6 different color styles to choose from. These are the kind of sneakers you could wear to just about any casual setting or even getting together with the fellas for a game of hoops. Sizes for this include [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, Standard, and TMP body styles.

Lastly I’d love to give mention to Chat Noir, I’m finding that their single mens Bento poses are really nicely done. I’ve used two different ones for this photo session which were once in events but have migrated to their main location for you to take a look at.

[#339] Get Ready ‘Cause This Is War

Often times when it comes to doing a photo shoot, depending on what kind of artist/blogger/photographer you are etcetera, finding a background composition can be a bit of a challenge. Some just use plain backgrounds to show a look, others like to incorporate places they have decorated themselves (which I’ve done before myself) and some like to find a location that’s been put together by someone with a knack for it.

After scouring various media for a place on the grid that I felt would fit my composition, I found the Sabotage sim. I didn’t get far into exploring it when I found my spot to start shooting. It’s a very nice looking place from what saw of it. I set up in an alley between some buildings and just went to work. I’ve left the location down in the credits below and suggest when you have some free exploration time that you go check it out just to say it’s a place you’ve been to.

Recently released for the February round of The Men’s Department, Modulus is offering the “Sander” skin in it has a very nice rugged look to it and isn’t one of those fresh, young, model looking type guys. This particular fella looks like he’s seen a few things in his time and can handle just about any situation which is exactly what I was looking for. I am wearing the cream tone but it is also available in Beige, Bronze, Dark Tan, Olive, and Tan and you can get body appliers for both [SIGNATURE] Gianni, and Omega for those of you with the Vista Animations PROHANDS like I do.

The great people behind Depraved Nation are holding a little Pre/Post Valentine’s Day themed event called “Love Interruption” and there I found the “V-Day Splatter” version of their Method Snow Boarder Pants. I really love the design on this and was something I knew I had to show off in a look. It comes with sizes for Standard Fitmesh, SLink Physique, and also the TMP body.

I paired these pants with and old pair of the FLite “Long Beach Low Tops” that were a part of The Arcade last year. You can still play the machine at their flagship store in case you missed out on it previously. I can truly never get enough of this style of shoe as you could probably tell from some of my other looks over time.

For my upper body I’ve got on the Legal Insanity “Blade” tank that was originally first released at the [SIGNATURE] event last month. It’s actually really cool with all of the spikes coming out of the neck and around the arm holes. It also includes a HUD in which you can change the color of the metal blades from two different types of gold or silver depending on your preference.

Towards the end of my last post, I had mentioned that Vista Animations were set to release their Bento PROHANDS for the [SIGNATURE] Gianni body. I’m happy to report that sometime shortly after publishing it, the hands are indeed out and available for purchase. What’s even better is that for those who already had the SLink version you could buy them for a reduced price of half the cost as an “UPGRADE” option. It has the same features and animations as the SLink Physique version and I recommend either product for those of you who want more functionality with your virtual digits.

This time out I combined a little old with the new that I’ve acquired and mixed it all together to make a casual look. I’m excited about some of these items so I’m going to get right into it.

The Men’s Dept. is back once more and I’m wearing the new “WADE” jacket from {COLD-ASH}. It’s a nice open leather jacket that has an optional shirt that you can turn on or off as well as colorize it if you want to; the package includes the aforementioned HUD along with Classic Fitmesh, Gianni, SLink Physiqe and TMP sizes as well as a non-materials version you can unpack if you would rather wear it that way.

Last time I had on the Go&See “Kevin” skin that you can pick up at The Crossroads event. I have another new skin from the event by one of my favorite skin designers, Modulus. You may be wondering why they might be a favorite since they’ve only started selling skins. It’s fairly easy, before establishing the Modulus brand, Chucky Hollak, was the creator behind Fruk skins. I was very excited upon learning he was returning back to his roots which I may have mentioned in a previous entry as well. With a great attention to detail, Modulus is most certainly a hard working brand. There have already been modifications as Chucky is a perfectionist and as a consumer, I can’t help but admire that he wants to make sure that everyone gets the best.

The “Oskar” skin comes in the usual shades that are synonymous with the brand (Cream, Nude, Beige, Olive, Bronze, and Tan). I have also learned that at the their flagship store, they have released the appliers that are compatible with the Bento PROHANDS. What also differentiates this release from the “Milo” skin that was previously released is besides the eyebrow/no eyebrow option, you also get a beard option and a combination of all three as well. Also included is a shape to make you look your best while wearing it.

Making their returns to complete out this look are the RIOT “Lennon Long Line Jeans” which have a great fit for the Gianni body that I am wearing and also the fame femme “Kori” sneakers that were available last year at The Men’s Department. Considering that I bought the full pack of these shoes I’m bound to find other great colors to use with jeans such as these. It’s the perfect look for a night out with the fellas or even a date night to make a good visual impression. Also still available from Men Only Monthly for a few more days are the “Ardor” eyes from Avi-Glam. The blue iris tone is pretty close to my own real eyes so I wanted to go with them one more time.

Tableau Vivant has returned with a new skin that is available at their flagship store. “Fabian” is just one of three new releases that were made to work with the CATWA “Daniel” head. There are a variety of tones to choose from ranging from very pale to dark. Whatever your preference is, there’s a tone for you. Originally the store only had body appliers for SLink Physique but I’ve discovered that they also have them now for the [SIGNATURE] Gianni body, which I was pleased to see as that is primarily my favorite to use right now.

After another trip to Men Only Monthly, I find myself wearing new ink. Tattoos are something that I don’t seem to do very much of but that doesn’t mean I don’t like them or want to use them. They just very rarely are a part of my vision for the photos I take. ISUKA has been one of my favorite tattoo creators as of late and when I saw the “VX” I knew that I needed to incorporate it into something. The detail is phenomenal and you have a choice of Fresh, Normal, and Faded styles. It also comes with appliers for both Omega for all compatible body types and for [SIGNATURE] Gianni.

As a side note, returning in this post from Men Only Monthly are the “Ardor Eyes” from Avi-Glam. I chose to go with the Green tone because I liked the way that it looked with the lighting that I used in my setup.

While it isn’t a new release, the “Jax” hair from BURLEY is one of the more recent for them. There are a variety of colors and tones you can choose from but this time I just bought their version of a variety pack. The cool feature of this hair is it comes with a HUD that you can wear it as a full hair or you can remove one of the sides for a partial shaved look.

For the only article of clothing I have on, I am wearing the N-Uno “Steve” pants. These were available in a previous round of Men Only Monthly but can be purchased now at their store. The pants come in sizes for Standard Fitmesh, SLink Physique, and TMP bodies. I would liken them to jogging/lounge pants and they have a stripe down the side that you are unable to see from the angle that I shot at.

Identity Body Shop created and released a new set of Hairbases and Beards at The Men’s Dept for Jaunuary. The latter you can see here in the form of the “Fresh” beard; it comes in 6 different tones.

Last but not least is the item that kind of pulled my idea together. [Black Bantam] created a infant baby gatcha machine for The Epiphany event. These little ones have a hold pose and a menu when clicked upon to interact with them. The RARE consists of one of the infants inside of a basket. There are 6 different tones to win with both common and RARE allowing for 12 different prize possibilities.

After shopping trips to The Men’s Dept, Men Only Monthly, the SIGNATURE Event, and the newly opened Lost & Found, I have got a very cool and casual look to share with you this time around.

A few items have returned from last time like the Go&See “Jayden” skin that you can get right now at Men Only Monthly. I just really like how it looks with the Catwa “Daniel” Bento head. Sometimes with appearance you can’t help but to go back to your faves. Sometimes I do change things up just to provide a variety with my looks but when you feel comfortable you tend to use it more frequently.

My other Men Only Monthly item are the “Ripped Jeans” by INVICTUS. They come fitted for Nyramith Aesthetic, [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, Standard Fitted, and TMP body types. Wearing them with my Gianni body was pretty effortless but you still have to tick most of your leg alphas in the HUD but nothing complicated to deal with. They also come in several choices from your light denims to your darker and black so depending on your style or mood, you can find the right one.

{COLD-ASH} has a new product available at the SIGNATURE Event. That’s right, you can get the CONNOR long sleeved Polo shirt which is available right now. I really like the style of this shirt, it’s very casual and would be very comfortable to wear to just about any social gathering. There are 8 colors to choose from but I tend to have a hard time with making a choice so I am glad that I have the entire classic pack. Besides the Gianni fitted shirt, you also get fits for standard, SLink Physique, and TMP bodies. The best thing about this shirt is that you also have the option for a slim waist or a wider waist (for those of you who like baggier shirts as I do).

Tableau Vivant is at The Men’s Dept with the Oliver hair. It’s a very nice mid-length hair in which there are three different color packs or the option to buy all of them for a discounted price. I chose to go with the Naturals II set and add a bit of salt and pepper to give a little more mature look.

Now onto the newest round of Lost & Found, which opened for their January/February round on the 22nd. MESANGE is offering the “Melancholy Eyes” which have a total of 15 color iris’ and come with the standard mesh eyes. The HUD allows you to change the size of the pupils and also has options for OMEGA and Genesis Lab appliers. I really that there are options for the size of the pupils because not everyone likes to have huge eyes. It is becoming more and more of a standard option recently and I am certainly grateful that MESANGE has picked it up.
