So as I was putting this together I started thinking about how much my avi looked like Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This of course prompted me to look through their music catalogue for a tune that I could rock to while doing what it is that I do. Being that this is a Vintage Fair post I went back in time to choose a track that I consider exactly that…vintage.

Sure the event is themed pre-80’s but the items that I’m blogging have that feel and the setting does also in a way; besides if I’m emulating Flea in some capacity he has a very old school vibe about him and has remained so mostly through the years. Remember that time he was in “Point Break”? Yeah that’s pretty vintage as well so it’s all relative really.

The post I do for the event are probably the most grueling as far as blogging goes but I have to say they really are a lot of fun and I enjoy them. The challenge that I get from seeing what I can match with what is like a puzzle, which is something I’ve always enjoyed in some form or another.

Poses featuring instruments of any kind always grab my attention and that’s why I picked out the “Guitarhero” pose by WHATEVER as the first one that I blog from the fair. There are 5 different poses to choose from and a vintage Beatlesque guitar prop to help bring it to life. Being a fan of the old Guitar Hero game series it was cool that I kind of in a roundabout way bring this all together as this blog’s soundtrack is featured in the 3rd volume of the game as a co-op unlockable song (there’s my flashing my pop culture video game nerd knowledge on you all!)

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the guitar will have to be rezzed or edited to get the poses to work together so being proficient at it will come in handy. The guitar mesh is a cool design but the only regret that I have is that the creator didn’t make a version of each to fit the poses as not everyone is great with manipulating the axis points and getting the axis right for the best fit.

If I were to rate this item using a stars system I would give it a 4 to 4.5 out of 5 as I really like the thought behind the poses, I’m only taking away slight points for the fact that guitars for each pose were not included. Everything was nicely done and for those who love doing music themed pics this would easily make your photo rock (bad pun alert!)

A lot of cool musicians have tattoos…even pretend virtual ones right? So another new item from Vintage Fair is INker’s “Liburna Tattoo) that I have the medium opacity applied. Tattoos are not something I’m all that great at describing especially considering a lot of the ones you see are not themed and have many different kinds of phrasing and iconography so I’m going to let the close-up pic speak for itself.

One thing I can say regarding the tattoo is that it does have a backpiece with a vintage ship and that to me makes it vintage as many tattoos from the past did.

Now that I’ve already dropped two different Vintage Fair posts out before opening, I’m looking forward to when it actually officially opens so that everyone who has come by the site with interest in the items blogged can get them for themselves. Don’t worry though it will come soon enough and I will be adding the map to my first coverage post as well as the post I do when the map is released.

For the people who are big into fashion, decor and accessories of the past then this event is the best place for it and the only one where you’ll find a selection of the best stores involved. I’m probably going to say it a lot during my coverage but what’s old is new again with this event and it’s a lot of fun to revisit these things.

Tomorrow marks the end of an era as HBO will air it’s finale Episode of “Game of Thrones”. Many of my friends and colleagues were huge fans of the show and tried for a long time for me to watch it but at the time I was engrossed in something else. It wasn’t til very recently that I broke down at the behest of my Brenna and also Lucky that I told them I would make sure to catch up so that I could watch the final episode the night it aired. I’m very close to achieving that goal and have been consumed by it; watching it feverishly. Now knowing what everyone else knows that are fans of this show…that it is epic.

Everyone has a favorite character whether it be Dany or Jon (who are probably the main two that people are fans of) but the one person that’s stood out to me with great writing and even better acting by Peter Dinklage, is Tyrion Lannister. The character comes from a house full of really bad people and while he’s not necessarily clean himself, he’s proven to me at least that he has the most heart and he thinks very hard before he acts. The world he comes from looks down on him for being a dwarf and with everything set against him has come along way from where he started.

I’m not sure how the story will end which is the fun and scary part about any show so I will be waiting along with everyone else to see exactly how it all plays out.

I was certainly worried about how well poses would work after shaping myself like a dwarf but luckily with the cool “DYLN” pose set by DAE, which is available right now at Pose Fair, it all worked out very nicely. DAE is a store that can be filed under the stores that I’m not as familiar with but I have heard of them before, I just have never really utilized them until now. With covering all the different stores for my coverage of the Fair, I usually try to choose several that are not sponsors or stores I see in every day conversations.

The actual pose from the set that I chose looked and felt to me like something Tyrion himself might do on the show and wouldn’t essentially be breaking character as essentially when we do scenes that are homages to something we try to keep it as true to the source as possible. When the idea came to me I was pretty excited.

Image Essentials provided the backdrop that makes up 3/4 of the scene outside of the torches from Aisling and myself. While it is harder to show features of something like a prop, I can give you the pertinent info that is necessary. It’s an original mesh item that can be resized by a menu that comes up when clicked in case you want to make it monstrous.

That brings me to what I’m wearing and it’s definitely a mix of things and much like the last post I did (even though it was female items) it’s comprised of mostly gacha items and one new event item which happened to coincide nicely as far as timing went to do this post. Many creators lately have been doing items that were inspired by the show and even the Enchantment event is fully dedicated with their current round currently titled “The Iron Throne”.

Hotdog has made the tunic I am wearing that is a part of Enchantment; it’s called the “Casterly Rock Tunic” and it’s very nice. There are two versions to it (I bought the leather version as it suited me better than the noble version). It comes with a HUD that allows you to change the outer part of the tunic as well as the inside part as well. It’s not fitted for a specific body so with the right alpha cuts it should work with the main bodies currently out there (save for maybe Aesthetic but for those of you guys with that at least check the demo!)

The pants and boots come from the “Fire and Ice” gacha set by RIOT which was a part of The Epiphany April round. It is likely now in their main store and has sizes for both Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni). The entire set for the males is truly super cool and for fans of the show it’s very accurate with touches that any enthusiast will notice.

There have been a lot of photos I’ve seen that have been GoT themed and many of them are awesome, I hope that those of you who do see this post will think that I captured the essence of it. One thing I know is that it was a lot of fun putting together and will likely do more themed from the show even after it ends as I have a lot of making up for that as well.

Just because the show is ending doesn’t mean a fans love for it will.

[#395] In A World Of Human Wreckage

This is the last weekend of the Indie Teepee event and I hope you’ve been able to get there and enjoy all the sights and sounds as well as shopping that the event has to offer. This is my last post covering the event and I hope that you agree with me that it is going out with a bang. The item I chose to feature here is a fun one, and considering I don’t do decor (or landscaping) items very much I thought it might be one of those times where I snuck one in. While I didn’t create everything you see in the background, that would go to the wonderful sim known as Netherwood. I just provided a little extra touch to complete my idea/theme.

Most of my overall look remains the same from the last few posts but I am featuring a new skin by Modulus which you will be able to find at the Mesh Body Addicts Fair that just recently started.

The next photo you are about to see is an overview shot of the BROKEN BOY giant doll by NOMAD. I submerged it in water as if it was a part of an old civilization from long ago that has simply been left dormant and decaying around what has come after it. I really liked this shot too much to edit it into the secondary features shot so I left it as was originally shot.

I‘d like to thank everyone from the event coordinator down to all the artists, speakers, musicians, and item creators that took part in Indie Teepee. This is truly one of the most unique events out there and I am seriously proud to have been associated with it as a blogger; I look forward to next years event. NOMAD never disappoints me when they release an item that catches my eye, which is why I chose this item as part of my blogger product reviews for Indie Teepee. I really get the feel that this large doll was inspired somehow by the Fallout games and also reminds me of something personally. Many may be way too young to remember Big Boy restauarants or have ever had them in their area. It was pretty big in the midwest and outside them was a huge doll in a similar style holding a hamburger. At first I tried to find a post apocalyptic location to shoot at but I could not find any that I was able to put this item down at but I do feel that it turned out nicely as it ended up.

After having seen so many wonderful photos being taken at Surfers Bay, I decided to see what it was like for myself. Now I have to give you a little disclaimer before you click the link down in the credits if you want to check it out for yourself. It is a beach sim that allows you to wear beach attire or you can go in the buff if you are daring enough. There is also a fee to get into the beach area but it really nicely put together so I didn’t see much harm to pay a fee so that I could get a really good shot with the theme I was working with.

My secondary shot which you’ll see below was actually a retake because I felt like I didn’t get as good of a view of the main product I was trying to feature. I honestly feel like this shot turned out better than the primary one. Don’t get me wrong though I like how they both turned out, just the second one is a bit better after a little touching up. Of course you can form your own opinions of which you like better.

One of the main reasons I chose the theme I did for this entry were these eyes. The name alone reminds me of the song and I thought that since I like being diverse with my choices for themes and music that I would take a run with this. For a first effort, I think Kauna nailed this and is a product that I’ll certainly feature again in the future. It must also be noted that this beard is for users or Catwa branded heads. I’m really excited about the latest release by Aitui that is currently available at UBER, which just started a fresh round several days ago. I’m wearing the “Ash” version which is a mid to dark gray color. I partnered it up with the companion item that can aslo be found at the same event. The ones I am wearing have a really cool image of the Caped Crusader and his nemesis on one side and on the other an image of The Clown Prince of Crime. Limit8 is a great event that gives shoppers the chance to own one of a kind items that even before the event ends could be sold completely out of stock. One of those items that is being featured here is the “Barbers Backdrop” from Bad Unicorn Clothing. These scene depicts the front of a closed barber shop and comes with a secured door and even has a barbers pole to give it that true authentic shop look. Bad Unicorn did really well with this and just like their other backdrops made it fun to pose in front of. The neon signs even cast off a reddish glow to them; I’m glad to say that I have this genuine one of a kind item.

Designer Circle is not often an event that I’m able to find items but I just happened to find one of the latest pose sets by Image Essentials, in which I am able to review copies of. The GothNIC pose set was designed for the female in mind but I was able to find a way to take one of the poses from the set and use it to help create my scene. I have to say I really enjoy being able to take poses that aren’t specifically for guys and put a spin on them and make them work. For those ladies who might be reading this, these really are great poses to use for such occasions as creating profile pictures. So who is ready for summer? I can tell you this gentleman blogger is!!! With themed events and clothes that make this time of year one of the best and most creative to be a photographer and visual artist, it’s going to definitely be a very creative time here at These Conversations Kill. Before I get too long winded I’m going to get right into it and tell you what there is to know about what you see in the photos above.

Modulus has created another cool hair that they have for sale at the Tropical Summer ’17 event. “Caesar” is everything you might guess from the name. It’s inspired by the Roman Emperor, Julius Caesar. This is a very stylish cut and definitely one that you’d want to have for the summer months because if you’re like me in the real world, hot weather and hair are just not very friendly. I paired it with the Stealthic hairbase that is still available right now at Men Only Monthly. For this post I am once again wearing the “Arthur” skin from Stray Dog but this time I have paired it with the “Cameron” shape from Reach that you can find at the new Souled Out tri-monthly event. It is kind of hard to describe shapes for me but all I can say is I know that it makes me look like a stud so we’ll just leave it at that.

Sometimes in fashion males tend to wear female inspired things and vice versa and I think when it comes to eyes on the virtual grid, I think they can be unisex for the most part and the with the “Goldmine Eyes” by MESANGE it is certainly no different. When I first saw the WIP (Work In Progress) for the RIOT “Maui Swim Shorts” I knew that these were going to be a fave of mine. Being a part of the blogger group for the brand is certainly an honor and here is what I have to say about this product. While I haven’t tried any of the other sizes included in the package, I can tell you that the Gianni shorts fit perfectly on the body. That’s not even the best part of these swim shorts by a long shot. The fact that you can change the three stripes to give yourself remarkable combinations which would allow you to be able to wear these many times without really wearing the same style twice gives it a very good value. Being a blogger makes it hard to wear things more than once but in those free times between photo shoots, I like to wear some of my favorite items and these will definitely be high on my priority list for those days relaxing by the pool. I also have to mention that buying the full package will give you even more extensive customization as well.

Last month at TMD {Milk Motion} released a prefab of a pool that you might find at a gymnasium or maybe an olympic training facility. Knowing that the RIOT shorts were coming, I picked this up as ideas were forming in my head for a scene and I feel like I really did make it what I saw in my head. This build is very nicely done and along with the pose I chose for the main “action” shot it made for an excellent and fun to do scene.

She provided me one of the older products I had seen that fit the idea I had perfectly. The Summertime Fun set is in its original form a pose prop but I managed to use the poses inside of it to give me the ability to do a cannonball into the pool, who doesn’t enjoy doing that (in a deep water setting as I wouldn’t advise doing it in shallow water). I also used for my secondary close up shot one of the poses from the “Kai” pose set as well.

It seems like spring and summer is not arriving fast enough (at least in my area) so I thought I’d warm the spirit with a lovely beach couples photo that for you gentleman is loaded with new goodies from events such as The Avenue and the now monthly SIGNATURE Event. I also have some great news for those of you who are looking for a good pair of jeans. I’ll get to that in just a moment but here’s the low down on the latest event releases.

I was browsing my go to website Seraphim to look at the latest events and shopping guides and I stumbled upon an event called The Avenue. I don’t believe it’s been around very long and if it has it hasn’t really hit my radar but I thought I would give it a look through to see if there was anything that I might want to use. While looking I found a brand called Erde that have released a skin called “Kai”. I thought it looked interesting so I went over there and grabbed a demo. This skin definitely has a macho side to it with facial stubble already built in so there was really no need to add anything to it. I do implore you though if you head to The Avenue to take a look at this please take a demo because the skin tone chart is not the usual light to dark. I found that after applying the demonstration that tone #7 was the right fit for me. They also have for purchase the fatpack of skin appliers so you don’t have to instantly run to the main store just so you can look like a whole human being.

After a bit of a break, the SIGNATURE Event is back with a vengeance. Let me tell you for someone that owns both the head and the body this place was like a candy store. Clothes, skins, just about everything you might want is there for you to bring home. One of the items that you can purchase from there is the “Andrew” Tank Top from RIOT. Now let me tell you even though I received a review copy as the brand is one of my sponsors, I would still buy this tank because it’s the epitome of summer wear. The entire collection of colors would be worth it because there are a ton of them and I’m definitely not disappointed in this release. Also included in the package are sizes for Adam, SLink Physique, and TMP mesh body types.

I paired the tank with another item from RIOT, the “Lennon Long Line” Jeans which compliment it well not only in the way they fit together but also because these jeans are just really top of the line. What’s even better is that right now at the RIOT main location these jeans are 50% the regular price during the duration of The Dressing Room event. Given the choice of going barefoot or wearing something on my feet, I choose to go with the latter because I found a great pair of sandals that are available at the SIGNATURE Event as well. {kokoia} has been killing it lately with their footwear and the “Alessio” sandals are no different. There are five different colors in the included HUD that you can change both the straps and soles to. You don’t even have to buy them individually, it is all together for a great price. Considering I’ll probably spend a good amount of time on the beach this summer,

It’s that time again for another new look. I went super casual this time and found away to incorporate a new pair of low tops and one of my favorite energetic anthems. Most are familiar with the theme of this song as being kind of a soccer hooligan fight song and is very catchy. I found that the [VALE KOER] “LIFTOFF TRAINERS” that are currently for sale at the Kustom9 event fit perfectly for this outing, as it fits the brand of sneaker mentioned within the song.

Those who keep up with this site know of my love for low top shoes, athletic or non-athletic alike. Because of all the ways you can style the FatPacks for the [VALE KOER] brand, it was all too easy of a choice to take advantage of. The value itself makes it also practical then just buying several different styles of the same shoe. The package contains sizes for Belleza, Maitreya and SLink for the ladies as well as Gianni, SLink, and TMP for the fellas. There’s also standard size for both genders to wear that may not have a mesh body yet.

Avi-Glam has a new skin out at the latest round of Cosmopolitan called “Simon”. I am wearing the Light tone, which I feel for their brand fits my personal needs the best. It also comes included with a brow shaper and a body shape, which I opted out of for this session.

My hair is from the Limit8 event and was created by lock&tuft. The “Downed” style Fatpack is a limited edition at the event so once all the copies are sold out it will be gone forever. It comes with 3 different styles to choose from, The first two are very much alike with subtle differences in length. The third version has a small bun in the back which is tied. The product also includes a HUD to change the color of the tie as well as the 3 different HUDS to change the main hair color..

The clothes I chose were items I had in my closet, one of them I’ve featured a few times in the “Lennon Long Line” Jeans by RIOT. They work perfectly with low top shoes which I wear pretty often so I tend to choose these to compliment them when there are not another pair of jeans that I’ve picked up. The tanktop I have on is from N-Uno and is called “Tom” and first appeared as a part of a previous round of Men Only Monthly. The one thing I found is that it does not work well with the jeans as far as fit which I would have had to do post editing on if I would have taken a picture from the back side. All things considered the Gianni size fits pretty well with the body. The package also comes with sizes for Adam, SLink, and TMP bodies.

There are only a few short days more if you have not been to Pose Fair ’17. Things seemed to get past me all too quickly in my coverage of this event but let me tell you there is so much there for everyone that you should definitely check it out for yourself. In this photo I am using a pose from the “Tell Me You Love Me” set from LW Poses. It worked really well going to The Last Forever sim and being able to lean myself up against the wall of a restaurant to have a cold one and watch the goings on.

The Pose Fair of 2017 comes to a conclusion on the 29th of April.

With the tumultuous times in the world today I thought for a moment what it would truly be like if everyone just did their thing and didn’t care about differences that people have all around. I picked the theme of this entry because it really called to me. At the end of the day when it comes time to go on to the next whatever it is we embark upon when our mortal life ends. I think a lot of us would or should think back to how they went through the course of their life. I know personally, I’d want to know that I cared enough about the people around me and gave love (and there’s different kinds of it mind you) to everyone I knew. It’s a little deep but thought provoking all the same.

Now that I’ve gotten the heavy commentary out of the way I have a lot of great things to share with you. Another look at items from The Men’s Department along with things from Cosmopolitan, The Epiphany, The Black Fair, and Bloom.

Modulus has been on a roll lately with making quality skins and the newest item that’s arrived at Bloom is no exception. “Beckett” is available in 6 different tones and has options for eyebrows and new to this product a neck tattoo. I thought that was a great added touch from the normal where you could have eyebrows and a facial hair. This way if you choose to add that you can use your favorite Catwa or Omega applier and also have a neck tat to boot.

I combined this with the “Anders” shape from Reach, which can be found at The Black Fair until the 19th of April. Take a look at their booth if you are not satisfied with this product they have plenty of others that are excellent too.

RIOT has taken a favorite of theirs and given it a re-release for the Bloom event. The “Joseph” Cargo’s have added colors and a new lower lag HUD to make things easier. I was a fan of this product during its initial release so I was happy to hear that it was given a new makeover of sorts. New sizes have been added as well so if the first time around it wasn’t compatible with the body you have, there is nary a doubt that it will fit perfectly now. Also, if you previously purchased this item you can go to the RIOT store and have a new version redelivered to you otherwise you’ll have to head over to the Bloom event where they are exclusive until the event is over.

A&D is one of the brands within the last year or less that has continuously put out great footwear with great fits for mesh bodies such as Absolut-Creation’s “Adam”, [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, Standard avatars, and also TMP. At the current round of Cosmopolitan which runs until the 22nd, you still have time to grab up the very casual and stylish “Barcelona” shoes. Of course as you can tell it is another low top design that I absolutely had to have and knowing I could get much use out of it splurged to get the Fatpack so that I could style it in whatever way I wanted. The leather, the cord laces, the soles etc.

There’s been a gacha madness sighted at The Epiphany! The event opened up on the 15th and let me tell you it was quite an adventure to get in just in! I’ve slowly become a fan of using well put together backdrops. It still does not substitute actually finding a location out on the grid but it can sometimes help set a mood. I found that in the SEUL “#scenes” machine. The backdrop I am using is called “Storefront Blanc” and I thought the wall with graffiti on it was a great place to park myself in front of.

Lastly, another item from the Twe12ve event is the “Kai” pose set from Image Essentials. There are 6 different BENTO enabled poses to choose from with mirrors so that if you favor a particular side more you have your choice of what direction you wish to pose in. It also makes me happy that I’m getting to see new male poses from IE especially ones that are BENTO enabled. Gives me a lot more to work with when trying to express myself.

For those of you who celebrated the Easter holiday this past weekend, I hope it was an enjoyable one and that if you had time off that you were well rested. I know that I got some approved relaxation and now I’m back at it once again.

[#351] Shake It Like A Polaroid Picture

Well now that the weekend’s just about over it’s time to get back to business. With just a week left to go get your shop on at the Skin Fair, I’ve got another couple releases from the event to keep you entertained.

The 3rd and final exclusive release that I have for you from Modulus is called “Rocky” and is is a darker skin that comes in almond, caramel, and expresso tones. The last time I featured a skin with these tones I believe I used the caramel so I chose to switch it up and go with almond this time. With using the projector lights from LUMIPro, I think the end result turned out nicely.

Another Skin Fair release and is the second of three exclusives from Reach Shapes is the “Randall” shape. I felt it went really well with “Rocky” and made a very tough and handsome look that would slay the ladies at the club…when not in the rest room that is!

Going back to an old favorite, I’m wearing the RIOT “Eli Chill” pants. I couldn’t quite get the exact look of Andre 3000 of Outkast but I thought I would try to get as close as possible being that I used their song as a them for this session.

For a second straight entry, I’m wearing a hair made from no. match, which is called “No AIM” and it can be purchased at Cosmopolitan which is running this current cycle for another week which is the same day that Skin Fair ends so I urge you to go out and grab it. It comes with a HUD that you can change the head scarf to four different colors.

I wasn’t able to quite make it before the end of n.21 but the “Gemini Lowtops” from FLite are the perfect combination with the “Eli Chill” pants for a cool casual hangout look. Sizes for the shoe include male and female SLink, Belleza, Maitreya and also Standard unrigged for the gals and fellas that do not use any of the mentioned mesh bodies.

The backdrop you see is from the “Illusion” set from MINIMAL that you can still get at the current round of Uber. There’s not much time for you to go grab it so you might want to hurry because I’ve enjoyed using every one of the backdrops that I have used out of this set. I look forward to seeing what MINIMAL will do for their next group of them.
