[#435] Fire Escape

Merry Christmas everyone or Yule for those of you who participate. I didn’t anticipate having the time to be able to post anything for a few days with the holiday festivities but I managed to steal a few minutes of time while the family festivities calm down a bit. I’m not going to get overly wordy this time since I figure everyone that views this is going to be doing it on the fly.


I really wanted to do something upbeat since I have been in a super good mood lately and the song I chose as the theme for this really fit in with some of the elements of the scene. It also helps that Paparazzi created a backrop that came complete with a Fire Escape, how did that happen to work out so well? I really just needed to find the right outfit and I feel like I did.


This blog entry features goodies from Avi-Glam (a brand partner), TonkTastic & Hermony (brand partner as well), Bleich, and Ohemo. I suppose you might be able to classify this look as hipster, though I’m not sure where the line starts to blur as I’m not wearing a thick beard in this look; I made it colder weather chic with the sweater and beanie as well.

As I just mentioned, this post includes Avi-Glam which I am featuring two items (one older and one newer). The skin comes from the Man Cave event and is called “Nero” and I’ll tell you more about it down in the credits. The “Hope Eyes” I have previously blogged but I had not worn this particular color before and really liked how it looked with the rest of the look I put together.


In other great news: this past week CATWA released a new male head to add to their lineup. “Victor” is his name and he definitely has a charming but rugged look to him. I will give you more of my thoughts down in the credits as well. I think it is one of their best releases though that has come along and I was excited for it before it even hit the store.

With the latest male head release, CATWA has the fellas scrambling to the store to check out “Victor”. Personally I feel like it’s a cross between the “Daniel” and “Stanley” heads but just a little more toned down in the jaw region. Not as hardlined as “Stanley” which for those who were not a fan of the head might gravitate towards this one a littel bit more. It comes with several different neck choices as well as a few add-ons for the teeth. Everything you’ve come to expect from CATWA is a part of this product.

“Nero” is a very soft skin and gives the Victor head a little bit of contrast because it’s also a bit rugged but not aggressively so. With this release the brand has added two new tones to their lineup: Chocolate and Espresso which gives you the choice of 10 different skin shades to find the best one for you. You can find the body appliers at the main store to purchase if you don’t already have them.

After pairing up twice before to bring us fellas some really awesome graphic tees, TonkTastic & HERMONY are at it again. That’s a lot of wear choices so you could wear a different design every day for a month and not wear the same one if you chose to. That is one of the reasons why I like these to brands doing a crossover because you’re going to get style from the jump. I originally bought these jeans at the November round of Men Only Monthly and couldn’t find anything I wanted to pair them with until now. I like the worn look of these jeans as Legal Insanity is really good for making quality products with that specific style in mind. I am a really big fan of their jeans as I’ve purchased quite a few pairs of different styles over time. The quality is what brings me back to them when they release something I really like.

I found this beanie at one of the previous rounds of Cosmopolitan but sadly time restraints and other scenes I wanted to do prevented me for featuring it during the round it was offered up at. This beanie works well with the CATWA head because of the alpha feature that allows for the ears and back of the head to go invisible for wear with hats like this. Two versions are included (one with materials and one without) and there are several different colors to choose from other than black which I felt suited me best.

This backrop was the originally available at the Limit8 event, however, it was not the Limited Edition version and should still be available by heading over to the Paparazzi main location. While you are there take a look at some of their other useful backdrops as I’ve been featuring them quite a bit in the last few scenes that I’ve put together. This building with a fire escape built in is a sight to behold; photos do not really even do it justice compared to looking at it up close. This brand really knows how to create useful backdrops that any photographer or blogger can use to create magic.

Hello once again! I’m glad to have any recurring readers and those who are new to the site, I welcome you to a place were fashion and visual art collide in a virtual world. It’s been a few days again since my last entry but it seems that the outside world has been needing my attention. I wanted to quick say that the people affected by the recent Hurricanes (Harvey and Irma) are in my thoughts. It’s also been the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our country. So many things going on for so many people.

I threw some things together from my time spent at The Men’s Department which is at the mid point of the current round as well as Men’s Only Monthly that concludes its current cycle on the 15th, which means it would be the best time to take a shopping break after you take a look at what I have put together.

As I was looking around in my various resources of finding new locations to explore and take photos in, I came across Ash Falls. Upon landing there it didn’t take me long to find a spot almost right inside the landing point which means I’m going to have to return there again to look around more for spots that I can set up another scene.

At times I find it difficult to add things when it comes to these posts but I try to give the best insight I can. I hope that those of you out there that are readers find something useful here even if it is just one thing. Known primarily for their skins, this time [theSkinnery] is taking a shot at eyebrow appliers for the male side of things. There are 5 different styles to choose from, in which I chose the first style as it is what appealed to me most. It wasn’t super thin or super wild…just right by my standards and I am not at all disappointed with how it looks. These will work well with just about any skin and the Catwa appliers give you several different brow color options along with tintable white so if you need to match a certain color it’s easily achieved.

The most recent release in the CdP skin line, Elias comes in 4 different tones (1-4) and while normally I go with T2 I felt like taking a leap and going a tone lighter just to see what it would look like and I’m not really disappointed. I’m not much for the more tan tones because I’m just not a sun worshipper or spend lots of time outside so it would be odd to have a tan for me. The package includes not only the skin but eyebrow and body shapes for Catwa heads Daniel and Shaheen for you to choose from. Of course you’re always welcome to use your own as I did for this scene.

It’s not often that I wear camo themed items in photos but it seemed to work out for the outfit I was putting together. This jacket is pretty solid and finding things that fit the Belleza body is a great thing (and it is also become more of a regular occurence). The base of the jacket is regular standard jacket material but the sleeves appear to be leather based which makes this jacket even cooler. It comes with a HUD to change the built in shirt so that you can mix it up a little bit. Sizes also included here are NX-Nardcotix, Signature, SLink Physique, Standard Fitmesh, and also TMP.

When I first came across these I thought they were jeans but as I closely inspected them I found that they were as the item describes, cotton stripe pants. They come available in Black, Blue (which is shown) as well as White and you can purchase them separately or together for a bargain price. I like the fit of these jeans on the Belleza body and am happy that Gabriel is now including them in their products as I’m very much a fan. Included are sizes for Signature and TMP. Sadly there is not one for SLink included in these which may disappoint those who have the Physique body and like Gabriel products.

Sneakers…what can I say? I love sneakers and have a hard time saying no whenever I see a nice pair at an event. Men Only Monthly had several pairs that I enabled myself to pick up and these bad boys rock. I purchased the full pack and was treated to a HUD that I could change different parts of the sneaker with many different color swatches. Customization is a plus for me as I like to have control over what colors I am wearing if at all possible. While I am not largely familiar with this brand, I feel that with the quality of these sneakers I would encourage you all (as well as myself) to give them a deeper look. For you mesh body wearers it comes with sizes for Adam, Belleza, Signature, and SLink.

Animosity – Stephan (04) @ M.O.M ♯ NEW

Poses are what bring our creations more depth and life and I know that I have said on more than one occasion (I repeat myself far often than I would like to admit) that I always like taking a look at new pose makers in the world. Animosity is a fairly new brand and is partnered up with Imitation (a newer brand as well). This is one of two pose packs that have been released at Men Only Monthly. I like the style that this brand has to offer and seems that they also are making poses that are not as familiar as you sometimes do so out there. I realize that you can only move an avatar so many different ways but it is always refreshing to see something outside of that and I believe this brand has a great start.
