[#689] 11 Minutes

I just want to freeze
I can give you more than what you are
Now I see you standing all alone
I never thought the world would turn to stone

Yungblud (feat. Halsey), ♫11 Minutes♫

Today is the last day of Skin Fair and if you haven’t been there then I don’t know what you’re waiting for. I thought that it would be fun to give you one more look of the LeLUTKA “Skyler” head. I definitely have had to get used to the way this is set up because it’s predominantly BOM based which I’m still not quite versed on. The HUD is also something that I’m sure many are still getting used to and all of the functions that it contains. There is nothing wrong with playing with things until you get everything the way you want it so just keep at it.

Stray Dog has released three new skins for the event. I am wearing Lorenzo in Tone 02 which the wear options include BOM layers and a LeLUTKA applier HUD. Options include brow and no brows, freckles and also frown brows with and without freckles. Plenty of ways to create your look with this face so enjoy playing around with it!

You’re eleven minutes away and I have missed you all day
You’re eleven minutes away, so why aren’t you here?

[#619] Take Me Away

This time all I want is you
There is no one else
Who can take your place
I’ve seen enough and it’s never enough
It keeps leaving me needing you

As I am writing this it is Friday (depending on when it gets finished it still might be or more than likely will be Saturday) and I did this little collab with Brenna, my brother Lucky, and Stef Giano (the latter two are also both excellent bloggers so click their name to get more about them!) For me this is almost a throwback photo for me as I started my journey in the virtual world as a virtual teenager. Brenna and I both attended the same school, which is where we met and the rest is just history.

When we were all discussing what kind of photo we wanted to do (several more ideas were brainstormed which may see the light of day sometime in the future) and Lucky came across the ad for the “Did You Miss Class Today?” gacha set from K&S Poses. It’s definitely something I consider to be an interesting set complete with a RARE skybox that has the chalkboard, desks and a bunch of strewn papers around. I gave Lucky and I the opportunity to play a jock and cool kid and the gals got to be school girl’s to create what I think is an great scene.

Lucky himself has already posted his version of it in the blog titled, “Love The Dumb Things We Do When We’re Young” and I am pretty sure that Stef is working on her own version of it as well but at this moment I’m unsure if mine will see the light before hers but we’ll see right?

Most of my look is compromised of things I already had laying around accept for the “Bradley” hair by Vango from Men Only Monthly. It’s more of a shorter style but I thought it worked as most of the jocks when I was in high school for real wore that type of hairstyle so it definitely fits the overall feel of what I was trying to accomplish with my part of this photo.

This may have been a team project but it didn’t mean that I wasn’t going to do a little bit of something on my own and get an angle with just Brenna and I closer up so that it could go in a special portfolio that I keep of all the pictures we take together. There may not be a lot of them so far but it continues to grow and I know that there will be even more as time goes on and the best ones get brought in world and put into photo frames and placed on the wall as should all pictures that hold special meaning.

My intentions for this blog is for it not to be super long considering that there aren’t any sponsored items in the post and overall this was mean to be just something fun to do between the four of us. That is one of the things that I’m going to try and focus on more during event down times which for me right now is mostly until the next big one in May which is the annual Pose Fair with Vintage Fair happening shortly after that so I’m going to enjoy a bit of a breather now before the heat turns up.

On that note I’m going to turn this over to the credits and give a big shout out one more time to Brenna, Lucky and Stef for all making this a super fun thing to do and I look forward to more of them to come. Most of my blog writing is more of an editorial style so this was kind of a different stretch and may not even be half as entertaining but this time I’m letting the visuals do the work more than the words.

To those of you who have awesome weekends planned I hope you enjoy them and I’ll be back again soon to give you more fashion to feast your eyes on (with hopefully some fun mixed in). Catch you all on the flip peeps!

Don’t give up on me yet, don’t forget who I am
I know I’m not there yet, but don’t let me stay here alone

[#602] Signs

“Listen to me
I’m not saying it’s impossible
Maybe I just need a little sympathy
Though I’m guessing it would help
If I opened my heart to somebody”

Captives, ♫Signs♫

The third month of the year is already here and somehow I felt as though I blinked and the first two months just happened to slip away from me. It’s been a few days since my last post but I’ve been kind of dealing with some issues outside of the virtual world and a few inside of it as well. It’s nothing major in the larger scope of things but enough to where it’s thrown me off kilter just slightly.

Sadly it was a parting of ways with one of the brands I’ve been blogging for the longest since I started my journey and in some ways trying to get passed it was a harder hurdle than I imagined but after a lot of reflection, I truly feel like I was blessed to be a part of it and moving on is healthy and a part of the life cycle. I’ll be the first to admit though that change is not something I enjoy but dwelling on things isn’t a great idea either so I am looking at it as opening up a new opportunity with another brand who will utilize what I have to offer.

Right now my main focus is on being a part of an event that I’ve enjoyed as a consumer and am now getting the chance to be a part of as a blogger. Skin Fair will be open in just over 3 days (at the time this gets posted it will be at least 3). While the majority of the event is geared towards females, I can tell you that I will make sure that the male equivalent of the event is featured and spotlight shown on the excellent skins, shapes, and add-ons (such as tattoos).

This is my first post for the event so pardon me a bit if I’m a bit nervous doing this. Once I get in a post or so the nerves will wear off and it’ll be just like all the other stores that I promote as well as events (to which at the moment there is only one monthly one).

Usually my look when it comes to shapes is normally something that’s been custom made for me or I tweak some that I’ve purchased. Skin Fair is a medium where I have the ability to test out shapes and show them in action (so to speak) as they were intended without any tweaking. Take for instance the shape I am wearing by West End named “Bradley”. It’s for the new LeLutka “Guy” bento head and I think it looks very charming with lean and chiseled body features that along with the “Mario” skin by Stray Dog really sizzle.

The second of my two Skin Fair featured releases is the “Bubo” tattoo from INKer. There are a lot of intricate things detailed throughout this skin such as the mandala type shapes as well as Native American influences. The back piece has a pretty awesome looking skeleton which really calls attention to it. Users of the Signature mesh bodies will be happy to have this ink in their aresenal but for those of you with other mesh bodies it will sadly not work for you as it is exclusive to Gianni and Geralt.

I‘ve recently become a new blogger for the lock&tuft hairstore and this is my second official blog for the store. It’s truly an honor to be able to blog these hairs and also have had some input into recent ideas and names of them such as the “Stay Down” side swept hair that I am wearing for this look. There are a lot of fun color choices for you hair fanatics. The full packs are a great value and worth every single dollar spent on it (of course I mean lindens for those who might have wondered).

To put it the best way I can, I feel the look I’ve put together has a combination of edge along with sensitivity which meets up with the song of choice for this entry. Captives is a fairly recent band that I’ve discovered who only have two single songs out one of them being “Signs” which speaks to me loud and clear as I have felt quite a bit of what the lyrics are talking about.

Some days I feel the weight of anxiety as if it were a ton weighed upon my chest and a lot of times I don’t feel like I should burden anyone with it which is not a great idea but that’s one of the reasons that I have this blog. I can take pictures and write about things if I want to so that I don’t have to drag anyone else down with me on the days that I’m not my best.

Getting back to lock&tuft, it is a brand I’ve followed for some time and believe it will continue to grow and prosper and I look forward to seeing this first hand. This hair is badass and you can find it at Men Only Monthly which is only about halfway through their current February/March round.

lock&tuft – Stay Down

  • Original Mesh
  • 5 color packs available
  • FATPACK option also available
  • Exclusively at Men Only Monthly until 03/15/19

Now that I’ve just about finished my first entry for Skin Fair I feel a little bit more relieved which I was hoping to feel by the time I got to the end. From some of the items I’ve looked through I can definitely say that I’m going to really enjoy sharing them with everyone and if any of my posts help even one person to take a trip to Skin Fair then I’ll have succeeded in my mission.

On that note it is time for me to hand the baton over to the style credits and let them do their job. You know where I got the items now you can go grab them yourselves (except in the case of Skin Fair as it doesn’t open until the 08th). Get your shopping on and I’ll see you all back here soon for more cool swag and news.

[#585] More Than A Feeling

It’s more than a feeling
When I hear that old song they used to play
And I begin dreaming
‘Til I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin’ away

Boston, ♫More Than A Feeling

My coverage for Pose Fair is close to completion as the event closes up tomorrow night but I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve before all is said and done. I grabbed my brother Paul for a shoot that reminds me a little bit of when I was younger in the real world and I used to spend time with my brother. Memories like this are fun to try to portray virtually because the internet is able to hold onto them for a long time.

Space Cadet’s pose set “Teen Spirit” is a fun one that has five different air guitar poses. Not many people I know of do it today but it was a pretty big thing to do for fun when listening to music in my younger years (This was before video games took over). Both Paul and I have different poses from the set and I cannot tell you how much fun we had with this and the coolest part is that the poses are named after musicians such as Axl Rose and Slash from Guns N’ Roses.

Many of the poses that I have used for blogs from Pose Fair are great (as are ones that I have not as well) but this definitely is a lot of fun and I think that anyone that gets this pose pack could live out their rock star fantasies.

Space Cadet – Teen Spirit Pose Set

  • Bento enabled poses (bento viewer needed)
  • 5 different poses

Modulus has quite a few new releases going right now and in this post the style I have on is the “Pete Hair”. It is a short to mid length style that flows to one side of the face or the other depending on which version you wear. I have seen a lot of musicians have similar hairstyles to this and using it for this photo works out for me because I feel like I choose the right direction for the hair to fall as I jam out to some Boston.

It goes without saying that if you’re a guy looking for new hair that you should check out Modulus not only just their store but also at the events they participate in which they are attached to some of the best out there including male specific ones.

I‘ve been sticking with my closet and wearing clothes that likely have been featured a time or two here but I decided to do a little shopping this afternoon; visiting both The Men’s Department and Men Only Monthly to put together an outfit that I really like. I’ll start with my shirt which is from Chuck Size and called “FABIO”. Graphic shirts are probably my most favorite type of shirt there is and the designs that this store has on theirs is super cool to me. It only makes sense that if I am doing a photo where I’m playing air guitar to possibly one of the most well known songs of the last 40+ years that a shirt with a skeleton holding a guitar is appropriate.

The jogging pants I am wearing come from etham and can be found at Men Only Monthly. Taking into account all of the previous things I mentioned, jogging pants made it clear to me that I have kind of a retro look going on that is pretty 80’s or 90’s inspired. Might as well be comfortable while I’m doing my best impression of just about any famous guitar player out there wailing away at a guitar solo.

Paul is attired in past releases from Cold-Ash and takes after his brother when it comes to knowing good clothing when he sees it.

On that note I think we’ve jammed out a good while and you all know what’s what. Time for some credits to get you out there shopping and if the weather is anything like it is here…staying in and going on a shopping trip is a lot more exciting. If you must venture out please be safe and warm and do NOT lick frozen light poles, you’ll live to regret it!

Best regards,

B

[#564] What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?

Maybe it’s much too early in the game
But I thought I’d ask you just the same
What are you doing New Year’s
New Year’s eve?

Harry Connick Jr., ♫What Are You Doing New Years Eve?

For the past several years I’ve been able to manage posting one last blog before I run off to celebrate New Year’s Eve with friends and family. This year like any year has had it’s fair share of ups and downs from creative blockages to finding out people were not who I thought they were. On the other side of the spectrum I was nominated for an esteemed award in the blogging community that I never imagined I would but most importantly though I reconnected with one of the most special people I’ve ever met and now we’re happily married.

2018 was full of things like that and the funny thing is that with only a few hours something is different today than it was a year ago…I’m excited and looking forward to 2019. There are plenty of things I’ve set my sights to improve not only in the virtual world but also in the real one. The major difference is that I have even more great people in my life that wish for me to succeed than I did before which is why my level of confidence can only increase as I approach another 365 days worth of goals.

To the brands that have shown me their love and loyalty, I look forward to give back as much as I can to you in 2019. To the events that I was a part of in 2018 and will continue on with in the new year, thank you for your faith in my work as well because I know that only a group of the best are allowed entry. To my family, friends and colleagues alike…your support has strengthened me and I use it to guide me now as I will tomorrow and in the months ahead.

Thank you so much to all of you for everything it means a great deal to me.

For the final blog of 2018 I’ve got quite a bit of good things for the look and the scene to share so without wasting too much time I’m going to get right into it.

The pose I am using comes from UrbanMind and it is called D!VA and as one might gather it is meant to be for the fairer of genders but as most know, I am someone who likes to try to take an out of the box type approach when it comes to poses that are not intended for males. It’s not really difficult to do unless it is a very complicated pose and I did try every one in this set and they were all usable without me having to adjust my shape.

It appears that the set is based off of the songs of various female artists and some of which I have worked out in my head, there are a few others that I haven’t. The set also comes with a microphone prop for some of the poses and also an umbrella for the pose which I believe is based on Rihanna’s song of the same name. If I were a female I think I would enjoy using this pose set just as much as there are many possibilities that can be done with it in regards to scenes with stages or even perhaps karaoke settings.

UrbanMind Poses D!VA Pose and Prop Set:

  • Bento enabled poses (requires bento capable viewer)
  • Microphone and umbrella prop included
  • 6 different poses to choose from
  • Exclusively @ Anti-Event until 01/07/19

My NYE wardrobe would have felt a bit lacking if Bakaboo hadn’t released the “Luka Suit” at the Man Cave event for December. One thing I can say for certain is that this suit is a lot of fun for me to wear because it’s very ornate and this appeals to me a lot. There are three different sets of jacket colors (A-C) with included pants in three colors (Black, Cream and White). They can be bought individually or purchased together in a FATPACK for a reduced rate and if it were to be compared price wise I can say that the FATPACK is cheaper than buying even two packs at once; essentially would be like getting a pack and a half free.

I chose the black, gold, and white even though I should have chosen a more colorful choice but I wanted to sneak in a bit of a shout out to my favorite football team, the Saints. They’ve had a good season and are heading into the playoffs with every game they play being at the Superdome which is super exciting not just for me as an out of town fan but those who are actually there in the thick of it.

Tracking back to the suit though I really love the thought that was put into it and also all the different colorways that can be picked to meet a buyer’s needs. Looking forward to more unique creations from Bakaboo in the next year because adding a splash of color at the right time makes things that much more lively.

Bakaboo Luka Suit:

  • Original mesh
  • 3 different color packs
  • HUD to change sleeves also included
  • Pants included in each pack
  • FATPACK also available
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake), Signature (Gianni) and SLink Physique male bodies
  • Exclusively @ Man Cave until 01/09/19

With those being my main featured items I would like to give honorable mention to the hair I am wearing which is “Lucas” by Vango. It’s a long hair that’s pulled back into a bun and gives off a bit of an Asian style to it. I picked up the Naturals pack so that I could have the basic colors for when the need arises that I want to go with a color than my usual black or even shades of brown.

It’s also one of the reasons that drew me to the current round of Men Only Monthly which is known to have great swag from month to month. One of the male events that I recommend anyone needed to find newer designers or just new clothes, poses, tattoos or accessories from brands that are already known and loved.

The background that I have behind me is a part of the Christmas Backdrops Gacha from Paparazzi that I previously used another backdrop from. I thought the neon champagne glasses and “Happy New Year” sign fit the message I wanted to send perfectly. This is a night that is supposed to be filled with fun and allows people to let loose which I am slowly starting to do now.

Given that I want to make sure this is posted before the clock strikes twelve on the East coast, I am going to wish a Happy New Year on behalf of myself and the entity known as These Conversations Kill. Have a safe, enjoyable evening and I can’t wait to share my journey through 2019 with everyone!

Until our paths cross once again,

B

[#524] Only The Strong Survive

It’s mine
It’s pure and…
As decent as I can make myself inside
We all know only strong survive

FLAW, ♫Only The Strong

For a very long time I have used music as a coping mechanism, as a soundtrack to not only this blog but also my life. That is one of the reasons why I have never strayed away from using anything other than music to bring inspiration, awareness and sometimes calm to the storms within my head. With my post today I’m using a song which has helped fuel me in dark times as a reminder that if you can remain strong in moments of struggle that you can rise back up and overcome anything.

I thought it would be a good idea to dig it up with having a bit of a creative block as of late and recall that I’ve been in that spot before and I found a way out of it. Strength is not only something that is physical but emotional as well and with my scene in this blog it is showing more of a physical strength it is still very much a mental one as well.

The Men Jail has an item by the store, Bent, which came around at a good time for me use it for the scene. The “#punchingbag” prop comes with poses built inside so you can either display yourself boxing, using your legs to kick, standing beside the bag after a sparring session and a couples pose added in for you to bring a friend or significant other along for the fun.

BENT #punchingbag Prop/Pose features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • 4 poses included (adjustable by clicking)
  • Exclusively @ The Men Jail until September 28th

It’s not often that I share information about a shape I am using as most of the time they are ones that I’ve had made or that I’ve adjusted from one that I have purchased but I couldn’t pass up the “Jeremy” shape by Go&See. I really like how this looks and am also wearing a previously blogged skin “Theo” which is also by Go&See but I am using the summer tone and that is something I’ve not done previously.

The shape has a handsome yet rugged face and gives the appearance of “I may be good to look at but don’t test me”. That probably didn’t make a ton of sense but I thought it sounded good as I was writing it and chose not to go back and reword it.

Go&See Jeremy Shape features:

  • Included style card (to give best look as intended)
  • Shape works best with Signature bodies
  • Eyebrow shaper also included
  • Exclusively @ Men Only Monthly until October 15th

Modulus’ latest release at the Man Cave event has made it’s way onto my head for this look. “Ryan” is a shorter length hair that can be worn to show it being combed to either the left or right side and that is one of the latest features of the brand’s hair products and that earns a 5 stars from me. I sometimes never know which angle is going to be the best when I’m setting up a photo so having that option to be able to make the product look good as well as the composition.

Modulus Ryan hair features:

  • 100% original “next gen” alpha hair mesh
  • Mirrored left and right versions
  • 5 color HUDs + integrated color tinting
  • 40 standard colors to choose from
  • FATPACK also available for purchase
  • Exclusively @ Man Cave until October 9th

My footwear is one of the newest releases by Native Urban dubbed the “Custom Sneakers” and that very applicable with the purchase of the FATPACK. For anyone that isn’t familiar with the Native Urban brand their top notch footwear has a HUD in the “All Colors” pack that allows you to break down the colors for just about every section of the shoe so that you can style it in a way that fits best.

With the amount of colors provided and faces that can be color changed it’s easy to say that you could go a long time without ever having to wear the same exact shoe style. I myself like things that can be changed to give it longer longevity as well to make it just about brand new every time you put it on. This is one of the many reasons to choose Native Urban for your sneaker fix.

Native Urban Custom Sneaker features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • 12 customizable shoe parts (All Colors Pack)
  • 22 different colors (All Colors Pack)
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) male bodies
  • Exclusively for sale @ TMD until September 30th

As I wrap this up, I hope that anyone who manages to view and read this and relates to the beginning of the post knows that even though it is cliche to say that things get better in time…they truly do even if it seems to happen more than once in a lifetime. Strength can be found in many ways either through family, friends, a random meeting and by determination and will.

It also never hurts to show compassion and kindness because even if it isn’t show outwardly most of us are fighting some kind of battle. Until the next time our paths cross, onto the next conversation.

[#521] If It’s The Same For You, I’ll Just Hang

And we always say, it would be good to go away, someday
But if there’s nothing there to make things change
If it’s the same for you I’ll just hang

Matchbox Twenty, ♫Hang

In my previous post I spoke about how I didn’t have a soundtrack to back the post until after I had finished taking the photos and getting everything ready. This post is quite different because I had the soundtrack and idea before I even started to put the scene together so it was an easier session from start to finish; it’s also great that I get to feature one of my newest brands to join up with These Conversations Kill.

Kokoro Poses is now a part of the brands that I have the privilege and honor to blog for. I have some experience with their work from events such as Pose Fair and also The Men Jail to name a few. They have been around a while which is great because they are established and are known to be good at what they do (which is making poses of course). The last few poses before I became a blogger for them also prompted me to apply and I hope that I can do them justice.

Backtracking a little bit here and going back to how soundtracks relate to how I put together my scenes for blogs is usually pretty simple, I take the mood of a song or simply something in their lyrics and apply it to the photo that I’m taking and fashion the atmosphere to fit as best as possible. Also finding settings that might match the overall tone helps too but doesn’t always happen as bloggers have to make do with what we have access to.

Asuma is the latest pose pack from Kokoro Poses that depects smoking actions and while I’m not telling everyone to pick up a cigarette or voluntarily smoke (as I do not in the real world) but I really like the mood that these poses produce. There is a verse in the song I’m using that talks about smoking a cigarette outside and staying until it is gone and not only is that being considerate I feel but also that it opens up more of a dialogue for contemplating something heavy. The cigarette is kind of a crutch to help alleviate a crisis.

Kokoro Poses Asuma Pose Pack features:

  • Bento enabled poses (proper viewer required to use)
  • 6 poses (including mirrors)
  • Poses 1 and 6 available only to the FATPACK
  • Mesh cigarette included for each pose and mirror
  • Exclusively @ Hipster Men’s Event until Sep. 16th!

A few days ago FaMESHed opened it’s doors back up for another round and for fans of Modulus there is extra reasons to be excited about this round with two different new hairstyles available to be purchased at the event. I am wearing “Julian” which is a short, wispy style (and sometimes my descriptions for hair styles aren’t the best so you’ll have to excuse me.) I chose this because I wanted to make sure that there wasn’t any strands of hair covering my face as you’ll see for my alternate photo close-up of the eyes I am wearing.

Modulus makes it easy to find a hairstyle that works with any kind of look you are going for or mood you are in with varieties of length to choose from; I highly doubt there is anyone who hasn’t bought a hair from this store but if not there are many events you can find them in and there is bound to be something for you so I recommend them highly.

Modulus Julian FATPACK features:

  • 100% original mesh alpha hair
  • 40 hair colors to choose from (5 color HUDs)
  • Left and Right hair choices
  • Integrated color picker within HUD for added customization

The Men Jail is also back for a fresh new round of goodies for the fellas to take a look at and over the last few rounds I have enjoyed being able to blog the facial hairs made by the store, Purfect. Most of them are mesh constructs but this round they have a beard applier which after I added to my face I really liked how it looked and gave me a more mature appearance (as opposed to without it).

Beards are definitely one of my favorite things to put into my looks because I always feel strange when I take photos without one that is unless I’m wearing some kind of face paint or makeup. Everyone has their own thoughts about their appearance and I’m one of those people who tends to not go without some kind of facial hair whether it be stubble or a full blown mountain man beard.

Purfect Beard 022 FATPACK features:

Cold-Ash is one of my favorite clothing stores on the grid and has been since they first came on the scene several years ago; to me they are to casual as what Deadwool are for dress clothes. That is a high compliment I feel because both brands respectively kill it with their products and whenever something new from Cold-Ash comes out I really go crazy in my mind with excitement to try and find the right situation to be able to blog it.

The “ELLIOT” short sleeve shirt is an untucked button down shirt with the first few buttons opened for added effect and even more sex appeal. I feel like anyone who wears this will definitely get some added attention. It pairs perfectly with the “Okauchee” pants from Lenox. This outfit as I’ve put it together was meant to be super casual and not super dressy.

Segueing right into the “Okauchee” pants from Lenox which was a smooth transition I have to admit, these slacks (or pants however you wish to go with that) are slightly rolled up at the bottom so you could wear ankle (or desert) boots or do what I did and show off your socks and oxfords (which are also by Lenox fyi). This outfit is a nice break from t-shirts and jeans or shorts that I’ve been wearing a lot because I do tend to wear those things a lot.

Here’s some details about the Cold-Ash and Lenox items!

Cold-Ash ELLIOT short sleeved shirt features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • 6 colors sold individually
  • 12 colors changeable via HUD (6 colors FATPACK bonus)
  • Fitted sizes for Belleza (Jake), Signature (Geralt & Gianni), SLink Physique and TMP mesh bodies
  • Exclusively @ TMD until September 30th

Lenox Okauchee Pants FATPACK features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • 11 fabric colors changeable via HUD
  • Fitted sizes for Aesthetic, Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Geralt & Gianni) male bodies
  • Exclusively @ Uber until the 22nd of September!

For this post I decided to do a bit of a test with a secondary photo with a full outfit shot. With the help of green screening (which I do not use often) and a nice background pattern, I am also showing a close-up of one of the latest eye releases from Go&See. “Ares” is a really detailed set and there and all of the options that it comes with are all very cool.

When it comes to eyes there really isn’t much to say or describe other than that I recommend them very highly and many of the Go&See eye products are good for rpg’s and also for every day use.

Go&See Ares Eyes features:

  • Appliers for CATWA and Genus Project eyes
  • Mesh eyes included
  • 10 styles to choose from
  • Exclusively @ Men Only Monthly until Sep. 15th

That about does it for this blog entry but I finally was able to share my exciting news about landing a new brand partner and featuring them for the first time as a blogger. I also was able to include some of my other favorite brands that I blog for as well together to create a look that I am truly pleased with as that is how it should be.

More to come from my favorite events and brands so be sure to check back to see what I’m up to as you never know what you’ll find on these pages. Time to go enjoy the rest of this weekend and begin staging my next idea. Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#510] Seeing Red AGAIN!

So lay down, the threat is real,
When his sight goes red again.
Seeing red again,
Seeing red again

Chevelle, ♫The Red

For the longest time I’ve waited for just the right circumstances to do a scene with “The Red” by Chevelle as the soundtrack and that time is finally here. Most of the time some of the ideas I’ve come up with don’t see the page for quite a long time because all the pieces in my head didn’t connect. Last night though I finally set the scene and am super happy with the results.

This is likely my final post for coverage of the July round of Pose Fair so I hope that I am going out in style. The “Male Model Series 02 Collection” from West End Poses was clearly a good choice to end with as the pose that I picked from the set to feature definitely helped define the edginess of the scene that I was creating with the help of an Alt.Rock song that 16 years old but still holds up today (maybe even better than some of the current music out there but that’s just personal opinion).

West End Poses Male Model Series 02 Collection features:

  • 5 male static bento enabled poses
  • 4 mirrored alternates (poses 2, 3, 4 and 5)
  • Available @ Pose Fair until July 31st (Ending soon so don’t wait!)

Stray Dog skins are probably in my top five when it comes to that genre on the grid but for a while there just hasn’t been a release that I felt worked for me but I was able to happily return to them with their “Kaike” release that is brand new for the Kinky event’s July/August round. Now this is an event I don’t really shop much at because it’s very much a female oriented and more of an “adult” event and I tend to shy away from that circle. Regardless of the type of event if there’s something I can use I will shop because that’s what I do (I feel like I am a pro at it sometimes).

I didn’t have to adjust my shape all that much which was the nice thing about this as well because I’m not the best at it when it comes down to it. A friend of mine recently helped put one together for me so that I felt more like “me” in a sense and that I wasn’t just bouncing around from shape to shape (and often times skin to skin). I tend to like having a specific look for one brand of head so that when I need to switch for whatever type of scene/look I’m going for that I’ll not have to work too hard to accomplish my goal.

Stray Dog Kaike Skin features:

  • CATWA skin applier
  • Brow and Browless version HUDs
  • HUD includes freckle and kiss marks options
  • Currently @ Kinky until August 19th!

Another major piece for my look are the “Sparkle #2” eyes from Go&See, and while this is not one of the most recent releases I have previously featured the first set of this series in one of my other posts and the fact that there was an iris color that fit exactly what I needed for the look was the reason why I had to go in the direction I did. When it comes to super unique eyes for fantasy type photos it is a must to give this brand a look because I can almost guarantee there will be something useful in their lineup and not just for eyes…there are tons of female products like makeups and lashes that can help boost a look. My only wish is that perhaps an omega applier for the eyes will be added in the future. Not everyone owns a CATWA head, fortunately I do (and several at that) but for those that do not they are missing out on a really great product.

Go&See Sparkle #2 features:

  • CATWA applier HUD only
  • 10 styles of iris to choose from
  • Ready to buy at the Go&See Flagship store

There is also the little gem that is my backdrop that I’ve had tucked away in my inventory for some time that is a limited edition from FOXCITY, and sadly it is no longer available (as most of their limited items go before you can even blink so if you can even get a hold of them consider yourself lucky). The “Linear” backdrop along with using good lighting (via LUMIPro which has recently updated to its 2018 version) I was able to create a very intense red ambiance. The lights on the backdrop can be changed but with the red I didn’t have to look any further.

I did a bit of manscaping to my face and am in the process of regrowing the old whiskers so until then I am wearing the “Simple Stubble” by Modulus which as the name implies is a good little bit of bristles but not overly abundant. The package does include several versions (light and thick) and there is an Omega applier HUD to slap it on your face. It only comes in black but most people on the grid are either black or brown haired so this works well in that instance.

For a while I haven’t really found much that screams at me at Men Only Monthly and my wallet is likely happy but usually I do find things there but I hit a skid along the last month or so. The skid has ended in the form of the “Erick” hair from Vango and with the lighting and angles it doesn’t give the best representation of this long hair pulled back into a tail but I can offer up that it is a really nice style and for those of you who might have the past release at Men Only Monthly named Aaron (the long, neck length style) as it can be used in conjunction for when you want to wear your hair pulled back. It’s a great way to cross the products together style wise.

Vango Erick Hair Naturals features:

  • Naturals HUD includes 6 different tones
  • Two different variations of style included
  • Available now @ Men Only Monthly until 08/15!

My final product to talk about is the “Tom Sweater” in black by Rekt. This grunge inspired sweater has little holes at the bottom of various sizes and I feel it helps as well to emphasize the grunge type look that I have going in this scene. Going from the last two posts that were more of a reflective mourning of sorts this dials it up and hits with some straight up aggression and anger. That’s one of the things about this blog is you never know what emotion is going to be presented from one post to the next.

The sweater is only for the Signature body and only comes in black which eliminates the need for me to go through features as I feel that all the bases have been covered on it. When there are more than at least two things to point out is when I will highlight those things to help those of you who are potential consumers make an informed choice as to whether you might like go take a closer look.

You can get this item at the most recent round of ULTRA until the 11th of August so plenty of time left to take the taxi down below in the style credits but why wait?

That’s all I have for this entry but there’s always more kicking around in my head so it shouldn’t be long before there’s a new blog post on these pages. Last post I spoke of the Vista Animation’s “Gerard” male head nearing its transition from beta to final and I can happily update you that it has now been released in full form and I’ll be working to getting a steady look for it to be able to give you my thoughts on it so check on back soon or follow the page on Twitter or Facebook to get the latest updates on when new blogs are posted!

Until the next time our paths cross, onto the next conversation…

[#500] It’s Where My Demons Hide

They say it’s what you make
I say it’s up to fate
It’s woven in my soul
I need to let you go

Your eyes, they shine so bright
I wanna save that light
I can’t escape this now
Unless you show me how

Imagine Dragons, ♫Demons

In less than a week, America will be celebrating Independence Day and there will be celebrations and fireworks all over but today myself and this blog are celebrating something else entirely. The milestone 500th entry on these pages has finally been set and there were many times that I never thought that I could make it this far and that I would run out of ideas or I would never improve but through perseverance combined with determination and hard work here I am.

Blogging as many of my colleagues can tell you can be a lot of work and tons of effort to get the right style, angle, windlight setting and combine it sometimes with a few light touch ups in their favorite photo manipulation software to bring what you see on website blogs and also Flickr itself. It can prove to be exhausting at times as well but when you finally see the results of your work live and see it receive any kind of positive reception no matter how big or small it is, the feeling of accomplishment washes away any of the doubt you might have had during the process.

For me blogging is a lot like therapy (I’ve referred to it as cheap therapy at times) because it sometimes help deal with issues I’ve personally experienced or the hurt of someone close to me when they’ve needed my shoulder. To be able to come up with scenes to create visual digital art can be difficult as well or might come easy to you depending on the situation; it also can help bring a little light into what seem like dark times and struggles.

Before I get on with the technical stuff I want to thank a lot of people and I’m pretty sure that they all know who they are so I don’t have to single them out. They are the ones that have supported me through the beginning stages of this blog when my skills were not nearly what they are today or what they can be tomorrow. Also those who have come along the way to give input and lend support during the course of this 4 year journey that will continue on until I see it no longer viable. Friends and family have also made this easier with their support and encouraging me to never give up on something I love so dearly.

To the brands and events past and present that have given me the opportunity to showcase their items when others wouldn’t even look at me sideways, I thank you for the opportunity because it’s your products that fuel my passion to create and make the best digital photos in a virtual world. Our loyalty to one another is something that I will never forget.

Lastly to anyone who has ever viewed this site whether it be on purpose or by accident but took away something when they closed it out, I appreciate you as well because knowing that what I do has been viewed and occasionally commented on shows that besides the love I have for it, it not all for nothing. Keep coming back and I will do my best to help you find great clothing, accessories, poses, and now and again furniture.

This dream is very much alive for me and has plenty of fuel to burn for a long time to come.

Go&See is a brand that I find has a wide variety of unique products from skins to makeup and also eyes which is what I’ve got here in this post for you to see. “Equa” is the very most recent release by the brand that I find to be very cool. Now I hope that I’ve done them justice in the close up photo that I took because one of my weaknesses that I feel like I need to work on is getting better close up shots to get a good view of the eyes. I recommend them for those of you that like to do horror or sci-fi role-playing. You could just as well wear them for normal every day if you want as well and you would certainly stand out in the crowd.

Go&See – Equa Eyes

  • Catwa Eyes Only
  • 10 different iris colors
  • Available @ Shiny Shabby until July 15th

It is not often enough that I’m able to pair two different products by the same brand but for this look I was able to merge two different items by Gild. Originally I picked up the BadHeat Jacket during the Ironwood Hills “Paranoia” event but did not have the right idea to make it useful and as brought in some newer items like their “Mods Slim Pants” at Hipster Men’s Event, I came up with the idea you are seeing on this page. Gild is a store with unique clothing and when I see something from the brand that I like I enjoy using it in my wardrobe.

Gild – BadHeat Jacket

  • Black (wearing) or Brown Jacket (Sold Separately)
  • Plain or Bloody Version Included
  • Sizes included: Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni)
  • Resizable neck chain also included

Gild – Mods Slim Pants with Side Gore Boots

  • Studded belt included
  • Side Gore boots included
  • 5 colors to choose from (sold separately)
  • Fatpack option available
  • Sizes for Belleza (Jake), Signature (Gianni) and SLink Physique
  • Currently @ Hipster Men’s Event until July 16th

Rarely do I ever venture away from Modulus when it comes to wearing hair but for this photo I had to deviate from my norm because I just didn’t have the right feeling. I came across the latest hair from Vango named “Aaron” and it is a long style that reminds me of one my favorite actors, Brandon Lee, who was only around for a short time. This hair spoke to me (not literally of course) and was instantly a part of my vision for this look and I knew it might be a style that I would go back to when it suited my needs for a long hairstyle of that sort.

Vango – Aaron

  • Two Different Styles Included
  • 5 color packs available
  • Naturals pack and Fatpack options
  • Currently @ Men Only Monthly until July 15th

As I close out this 500th post I feel that it is like a chapter of this blog is ending and turning over to the next 500 posts to come. I think with all the new advents in the virtual world who knows what kind of great things I’ll be able to share with the world and I look forward to doing it. Take each day a step at a time and never take more than one step because who knows what could be missed.

I hope everyone has a safe 4th of July and I know I’ll be posting again by or before then but thought I’d get it out of the way early. Until our paths cross again,

[#487] Wrong…

I was marching to the wrong drum
With the wrong scum
Pissing out the wrong energy
Using all the wrong lines
And the wrong signs
With the wrong intensity

Depeche Mode, ♫WRONG

Most of you probably have no idea how long since I’ve been blogging items from the pose store, WRONG, that I’ve wanted to use this Depeche Mode song as the theme for a photo and today was that opportunity so I grabbed the ball and ran with it!

Truly this brand has really great male poses and they’ve done some fantastic collabs with The Owl that I’ve also featured in photos not only by myself but with guests as well and there is so much care that goes into these poses and I am rather glad that they’ve helped contribute to my visual creations and certainly encourage you to check out their new store location that has recently open and find out for yourself.

Now that I’ve gotten that thought out of my head there’s plenty of great things I’m wearing that helped make this photo possible and most of the time I save the best for last but I am going to work from head to toe and start off with my my hair which is called “Mason” and is from my friends at Modulus. This release is a longer length hair (just past the ear/neck) which I’m always a fan of and a lot of the time you don’t see that with guys hairs, they are usually more of an above the ear length and swept to one particular side.

Of course I’m using the HUD with the brown tones in it because that’s just been the mood I’ve gone with as you usually see blonde hair or black so I tend to go middle of the road. I definitely do not see myself as a red/ginger type guy though I have thrown that in a time or two when the direction of my photo needed it. There’s 5 different shades in the pack which make up part of the 25 hair colors the hair comes with; they are also all available in a convenient FATPACK option which includes all 5 color HUDS and each of them provides an additional integrated color picker so that you can give additional color tinting to your hair.

You can find this hair at the main store which I’ve provided transportation to in the credits below!

Men Only Monthly is halfway through its current cycle and the shirt I am wearing by {FE Style} is currently available at the event right now. The “RUDEKEM” t-shirt comes in 10 different graphic designs and also has 8 solid colors to choose from which you can purchase separately or altogether with a money saving FATPACK. As much as I love this shirt and most of the styles offered I had to make a decision based on budget and I chose to go with the graphic shirt that has “Mr. Chaos” on the front of it and this was before I ever chose any of the rest of the outfit or my setting but it seems pretty fitting in hindsight.

Men Only Monthly runs up through the 15th of May before they close for restocking their shelves with new products.

Cold-Ash is back with brand new footwear for a second straight TMD release! This time it comes in the form of boots (the Valkyrie sneakers that I enjoy so much were last months release). These work style boots come with the option of the full version or a half version which fits under pant legs (and is how I’m dislplaying them in this look). The WOODCREEK boots have 8 color options to choose from and have sizes to fit Belleza, Signature (Gianni), and TMP with an Unrigged size for classic avatars included for good measure.

The Men’s Department is open until the 31st of May so there’s still a LOT of time for you to head over there and check these boots out and browse through other equally as good designers and their products.

Another blog post is in the books and as I wrap this up I continue to look at the number of each post knowing that I am drawing closer to a goal I never thought or expected I would get to… 500 posts. I’ve definitely learned a lot since I made my first blog entry back in 2014 and continue to learn and grow with each passing day and photo I take. The one thing about blogging and artistry is that it is not always everyone’s cup of tea and for every 1 or 2 people that dislike something there may be twice as many that like it or vice versa. Trying to please everyone is not something that works and trying to do it is only a fools mission. Enjoy what you do because if others see the pride that you take in yourself it might just be infectious enough to spread around.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…
