[#494] Street Fighting Man

Hey! Said my name is called disturbance
I’ll shout and scream, I’ll kill the king, I’ll rail at all his servants
Well, what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock ‘n’ roll band
Cause in sleepy London town
There’s no place for a street fighting man
No

Street Fighting Man, ♫The Rolling Stones

We’re almost at the end of the week but I’m actually able to post a true “Throwback Thursday” type blog. Using the rousing tunes of The Rolling Stones, I bring products from two new events to life. That’s how I’m going to start out this entry is by giving you some new news concerning the blog which I feel is really good for me personally as I continue to grow and see things prosper.

I’ve been accepted as an official blogger for The Men Jail event which begins its new round tomorrow, June 08th. The event has so many different products from clothing, to furniture, as well as tattoos. There’s so many different things for just about everyone so I’m proud to be affiliated with it and that they think I do a good enough job that they want me to represent them as well; I hope that it will be just like my other partnerships that are very nicely matched.

There are several items I have in this post from the event but the one I’m focusing really one the most in my main story shot is the pose which is from a set by Kokoro Poses called “Henrique”. It has 5 different static bento poses that will easily be able to fit your own blogging and photography needs whichever one you might possibly partake in (or could be none as well).

The item that makes me correlate with the soundtrack of this post is the “MICKEY” skinaddon from [FLAWS] that makes me more of a “Street Fighting Man” this applier which comes available for CATWA and OMEGA allows you to place a fresh or head gash on your nose. Of course what ruffian wouldn’t come to the party without a busted up face of some sort…that’s what being a tough guy is all about!

It’s been a while since I’ve worn any tattoos in photos but this time I felt that if I was going for a tough guy look that I needed some ink and it just so happens that Facade is releasing a new tattoo at TMJ called “Salvation” it has both fresh and faded version with a HUD that will apply to all major mesh bodies as well as OMEGA so that no matter what you are covered to wear this tattoo on your person. I think that it has an element of a prison tattoo but isn’t as rough as some of them tend to look which probably says that it is a post prison tattoo? I’m rambling a little bit too much on this so I am going to move on to the next bit.

Last for my goodies from The Men Jail is the “Erick” facial hair from Clever Language and I would have loved to see how it would have looked with the nose cut but my CATWA head just was not being friendly with me and kept pulling one or the other off when I tried to apply despite trying to use different layers for them both which gave me a solid reason to break out my LeLutka head because both applied without any problems whatsoever. If you aren’t planning on wearing these two products together or can figure out a fix by all means let me know because I’d appreciate it. This facial hair applier comes with both a CATWA and OMEGA friendly applier with a black hair version as well as tintable for those of you who have varying colors of hair.

The Men Jail runs until the 28th of June so find some time during your next shopping trip to take a look through what is all there is to offer fellas.

At the beginning of the post I mentioned that not only was I featuring The Men Jail products but also The Vintage Fair which also starts tomorrow (June 08th) and I was able to get a sneak preview of the event and while not every designer was set up at the time, I did manage to bring home a new hat/hair combo that I thought really started my thought process going of putting a look of a tough guy together.

Lock&Tuft will have for sale the “Cutler” hair which has a flatcap as part of the product. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a cap like this and it’s cool that it’s been paired with longer hair in the back. It reminds me a little bit of former lead vocalist from the rock group AC/DC who was known for having at hat like that as well as hair in that kind of style. I purchased the FATPACK which gives all of the colors as well as a HUD that allows you to change the color of the cap.

Now that I’ve covered the majority of what I feel were my key thought points it is time for me to put this blog post to bed allow you to get prepared to start the weekend and planned shopping trips. Check back in soon for more bloggage and cool new and recent releases from brands that I believe in highly. Also one quick thing is this is the second straight post that I’ve visited the sim, Rieri Town in Tokyo which is a really excellent place to explore and for fellow photographers/bloggers you’ll enjoy exploring and finding your own spot to snap a photo.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#493] Workin’ For A Livin’

Huey Lewis & The News, Workin’ For A Livin’

A new week has just begun and I’m starting off right (or at least I hope I am). For this blog post I’m featuring products from my friends at Image Essentials and Native Urban. I really enjoyed photographing this scene because it was rather goofy and I think that’s something I haven’t touched on recently so that’s what I’m doing with the help of the pose set that is being featured here today.

Image Essentials has released a Monty Python inspired set called “Ministry of Silly Walks” and if you’ve never seen the skit then here is a LINK for you to take a look and see what these cool/funny poses were born from. There are 12 different poses in the set and included in the set are a briefcase (with newspaper inside I have no doubt about that) and a bowler hat.

I may not be accurately dressed in my rendition of the skit but it is 2018 and I am considering it an update on a classic and I will leave it at that.

You can find this pose set at The Garage Sale until the 9th of June and you might want to hurry because if you wait too long you will miss it and all the silly walk fun you can have!!!

As a blogger who loves fashion as it’s pretty obvious from looking at the posts on the site, one thing that I seem to enjoy the most is footwear. Most people equate women to having all these different pairs of shoes but there are guys out there (including myself) that just love different styles of shoes, boots, sandals and the like so when a blogger pack comes along and it is shoes I tend to get pretty happy about it.

Native Urban has released a new pair of sneakers at the most recent and current round of Uber called the “Silhouettes Sneakers” and has 11 different color styles to choose from for single purchases but if you truly want the best for your money because you like more than one color, there is a FATPACK option which includes a HUD and allows you to color just about every part of the shoe itself so that the style choices are unlimited. That would certainly be my choice as a consumer because when it comes to shoes I hate being limited by just a certain color as I tend to coordinate my clothing off of one another so my shoes in some way match the rest of my outfit.

Sizing for the “Silhouette Sneakers” include Belleza, Signature and SLink and they are available at Uber until the 23rd of June at which after that will be moved to the in-world store and marketplace locations.

Most of the outfit you can see here are items I’ve already had in my closet so I am not going to really go into detail about them as well as my facial and body things because in these photos you can’t really see them as you might normally in my other works but you would be able to take a look back at the previous post before this to find out that information as well as a third of the time I don’t really change my look unless I’m blogging a new product it helps me keep an identity of sorts which I had not had a stable one for the longest time.

As I approach one of my blogging goals I’ve also reached another goal that I really never considered being a possibility and that is having been a resident of the Second Life community for 8 years as of June 4th (which should be when this is posted so it’s actually my Rezz Day). I have had a lot of experiences in that time and some of them positive and some of them not so much but when I started the journey of becoming a blogger it really helped me refine my creative side that I’ve always had but could never find an outlet for.

Most of the time I would celebrate this with those around me but I think much like real birthdays at a certain point you stop celebrating because it is just that time to and I’ve accepted that and it isn’t a great big deal. I’m just happy for what I do have and am able to create and make visual photographs of thoughts and ideas that interest me.

That just about wraps it up for this entry and it’s another notch on the cement wall and one more closer to what is now a realistic goal. Hopefully you’ve had fun looking and reading as I’ve had posting it for all of those out there who might see it. Until our paths cross again,

Onto the next conversation…

[#492] There’s A Light Up Ahead

Take this heart of darkness
I give it up
and all the emptiness
you fill it up
The times that I feel nothing
you bring enough
So I can live for something
You lift me up!

Further Seems Forever, ♫Light Up Ahead

June is now upon us and it seems like time sure does fly because it just feels like the year just started but we’re already halfway through it. The start of a new month means the restocked events that we love like FaMESHed, The Men’s Department, and of course for those of you Gachapon addicts…THE ARCADE! I hope that while I’m working to get caught up with things that I’ll have items from all these events so that you can get a taste of them from my perspective.

It’s been a while since I’ve covered anything from the Shiny Shabby event so I find myself in luck that my good people at Modulus have released a new hair at the event that honestly has me super excited. It seems a bit suspect that I’m totally gaga over a product by a brand that I’m a blogger for but if you know anything about me then you know that I blog for brands that I love and believe in and Modulus is one of those at the top and I’ve been a blogger for them from just about the beginning and it can easily be verified with little effort.

Okay! The details about this latest Modulus release from Shiny Shabby…the hair is named “Godfrey” and what makes this different from most of the releases is that you really do not need a hairbase for this. It is a parted hair with the side part built right into it without needing a hairbase as I just mentioned. Sometimes I have to resize hair to fit and make it look like it should on my head but I had to do very little with this and it’s made the “Godfrey” one of my top 5 faves of the hair releases in the last 6 months or so since Modulus started releasing products in the Alpha hair line.

40 different color options to choose from broken down into 5 different color HUDs all with an integrated color picker to add an extra bit of flavor in a sense. Of course you can purchase the packs separately or you can get all of them in a FATPACK for extra savings and then not worry about that moment when you wish you had bought more than one pack because you’re feeling like a change. I honestly think this hairstyle is old school cool and a bit vintage as well as unique because you don’t see anything like it out on the grid (but I have a feeling that it is going to trend but you saw it from Modulus first!)

Shiny Shabby is currently going strong and you have until the 15th of June to take a look at this great hair and add it to your style closet.

Go&See has released quite a few products lately including several eye packs as well as the skin that Brena is wearing, who as you can see has tagged along for this photo because I thought it would be a fun idea to throw her into the mix a bit more when I can and the ideas are there. I’ll get more to her in a bit but first I will tell you all about my peepers.

“Sparkle” is just one of two packs of the same name that you can currently find at the SaNaRae event and it is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul; it could also be said that these eyes are a good visual to prove that fact. There are 10 different color iris’ to choose from and I went with the closest blue to what my real eyes look like. The detail of them is super stunning and I’m not sure any photo taken in-world can do them justice, it is just something that has to be seen for itself.

They can easily be used for every day or you could use them also for any kind of role-playing situation you might find yourself in (if that is one of your hobbies). SaNaRae has just recently opened so there is plenty of time but in case your wallet has taken a pounding from The Arcade, you still have until the 18th of June to catch these eyes.

Lately I’ve been using a lot of poses from the store, WRONG, but with good reason as I really do love the poses that are made and also the collabs they do with The Owl store as well. It helps me create things that I have in my head a little bit easier which makes putting things together slightly less manic and stressful. I’ve been to several events they’ve released new products at and couldn’t resist picking them up knowing that even if I didn’t use them right that second that I would have a use for them.

I’m not sure how the numbering really works with them but this pose pack is the “Bento Static Male Poses – 37” which if they’ve come out with 37 different pose sets…that’s really super impressive! The somewhat funny part is that I likely have 3/4 of them and likely would go to their store and claim the ones that I previously didn’t own. To be perfectly honest I’d love to blog for them someday and maybe that could be a reality but for now that’s not a point. This pack contains 4 different bento static stand poses of high quality.

You can find this pose set at the current round of Ultra which the doors will close for this round on the 10th of June which gives you over a week to go take a look at their booth which has other pose sets as well so there’s plenty of posing options for you and your photography.

Brena has come out to assist me for this post and she has a little bit of everything going on with her look, some things older and previously blogged as noted and a few things that may not be new but are new to her along with one new product at a current event, so let’s dive into the specifics shall we?

Earlier in the post I talked about new releases from Go&See which one of them were the eyes I am wearing and the other is “Tina”, the skin that Brena is wearing. This is the first time I’ve used a skin from Go&See that was not male and I’m rather impressed by all the options that come along with them as far as brows and freckles for the face and all the body skin options.

The face skin works for both Catwa and Omega enabled mesh heads which is great for me because Brena’s noggin of choice is LeLutka’s “Chloe”. I felt that when I was putting her together I didn’t want to give her a CATWA head because I know so many people with them that I wanted to diversify from it. There is also a plus that the HUDs for the head are ridiculously awesome and are jam packed with features. However, with that said there’s always pro’s and con’s to everything which I won’t get into here because then it would turn a simple blog into nearly a manifesto of some sort.

Getting back to the face, it comes in 8 tones (Albi, Goth, Pale, Summer, Tan, Dark Tan, Tropic, and Cola) with 5 brow options (No brows, white brows, light brows, dark brows, and brow with freckles) which gives you a lot of options to find that right combination to make your girl face super pretty! The body appliers in the same 8 tones as the face skins are sold separately and have so many options that it just blows my mind and would take me forever to try to explain them all so I’m going to give you the abridged version. There are several styles of breasts as well as butts which also gives you a lot of customization to work with all on an Omega applier which will work for just about every body out there.

For attire she tagged the lucky boards at Petit Mort and came home with a flowery camisole and some jeans. She did also get some really great rose printed flats but those didn’t make it into the shot so I may have to photograph them down the line because they are really nice and well worth hanging around the store for the first letter of your name to spring up.

By now I’m sure you’ve either skipped to the credits or just got tired of reading altogether and I don’t blame you because I do tend to get wordy when I get on a roll with writing these things but if you managed to make it here to the end I applaud you and thank you for taking the time to see what all I had to say. Hopefully soon I’ll be getting back to a more regular schedule with blog posts, it’s been a seemingly wild past month but the ideas are still inside my brain and I look forward to sharing them.

Until our paths cross again…onto the next conversation

[#490] That’ll Be The Day

Well, you give me all your lovin’ and your turtle dovin’
All your hugs and kisses and your money, too
Well, you know you love me, baby
Still you tell me, maybe
That some day, well, I’ll be blue

Buddy Holly, ♫That’ll Be The Day

blog490_01

Time for a little “TBT” in this blog post (I’ve always wanted to do a Throwback Thursday) as I gather inspiration from the late 1950’s and the tunes of Buddy Holly. There were a few other songs I thought about as a soundtrack to this theme but I just couldn’t shake the feeling I got with the this song. So I ran with it and didn’t turn back.

FaMESHed is almost about to close it’s doors soon but there is still time to get there to not only get the limited edition hair from Modulus that I previously blogged but you can also lay your hands on this pretty sweet suit from David Heather. When I saw a preview add for it somewhere on social media it was clear that I wanted to blog it and I already had the background in mind with having the FOXCITY “Show Time” limited (and now extinct) backdrop that I got at a previous round of Limit8.

The whole scene just speaks about classic and a time that’s long gone and likely will never be seen again. Yes I wouldn’t trade most of the things today for anything but there is also something about that time period that was interesting and catches my eye. The music scene was certainly a different landscape than it is today but if it weren’t for artists such as Buddy Holly a lot of the music that came after him and the musicians they inspired would not molded some of today’s acts.

blog490_02

The hair I am wearing is a recent release from Modulus and is now in the Mainstore as I did not get a chance to get this idea together and posted before it transitioned but it’s new to the store and worth checking out. It is one of the last few hairs that were released with just 25 colors and maybe the brand will update some of their previous work but even if it doesn’t happen the style of this hair is really cool. I like how you can pair it with shaved sides and it looks stylish. One of the other things I like about it is that it is a slicked back style which is something I’ve always been a fan of when it came to hairs and also why it fit into the grand scheme of this pic.

The pose that I’m using is from a past Gacha from my pose maker friends at Image Essentials (a very big thank you to Kay Weston for providing me this set in hopes that I could pull something off which I did!). I couldn’t think of a better way to show a scene that was similar to capturing the magic of the Ed Sullivan show which was many many years before my time but seeing clips of episodes made an impression that I just don’t get when watching stuff like American Idol or The Voice (or any other talent/variety show out there).

All it needs to be is a man, his microphone, and his music.

This was intended to be a short blog post which means I am going to be wrapping it up and I know there wasn’t as big of a write-up for this post but with there not being that many new or recent items I felt like covering the most important things was all it needed and having given a bit of a backstory about my inspiration would do that trick and I hope it has. I feel that I’ve been long winded a lot of the times so someone reading this post may feel like they are getting a break. There is more to come as I enter the final stretch of my milestone so I urge you to check back in soon to see what my next look might be and what inspired it.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#483] After The Storm

And after the storm,
I run and run as the rains come
And I look up, I look up,
on my knees and out of luck,
I look up.

Mumford & Sons, ♫After The Storm

We’ve all been there.

Every single soul that has or ever will step foot into this plane of existence has dealt with a trying time in their existence. It may last a few moments, days, weeks or possibly years but one thing that it is certain is that it doesn’t last forever. It’s what you do with that time after enduring whatever you’ve gone through is what’s most important. You’ve tempered the raging storms but it’s what you do after the storms that helps define you, your character.

I myself am going through a bit of a rough spot but I refuse to let it weigh me down and why it helps to have a medium such as this to work things out in my head because I know that when all the winds and rain have subsided that I will come out for it a wiser person and hopefully use it to my advantage.

Many times I plan things down to the very detail when it comes to a photo I take (location, styling etc) and then sometimes it is just really nice to go about things spontaneously as I’ve done with this blog entry. I threw on some clothes that I had not worn before or even remotely had plans for and wandered off to a location I’ve never been and found creativity took hold and was able to create something that set the mood at that moment.

The only thing about my look that was planned was the hair style I have on from Modulus that is currently available at the Equal10 event, which is something entirely new not only to the grid but to me as well. I’m not 100% sure of what the story is behind it but if you decide to check out the hair you’ll be in for a treat. The setup for the event is honestly one of the coolest I’ve seen in a long time and I have to give a major applause to whomever came up with the idea and executed it.

Moving back to the latest Modulus release, “Jay” is a short style that you can use a shaved base with to give it a bit more depth or you can use a regular one (as either work just fine). I’m wearing the Blonds pack (for the second straight release) which is not usual for me but I almost kind of feel that I was absently putting out a honey badger vibe (and we all know honey badger don’t care).

When it comes to hair whether it be me blogging it for a brand partner such as Modulus or finding something at a store/event that I like, one thing I tend to do is purchase FATPACKS because sometimes you just never know what mood you’ll be in or if you feel like going outside of your norm and if you do then I give you a round of applause. As I’m still on the topic of Modulus, the “Jay” hair does come in a FATPACK option and with that you’d get 25 different hair tones to work with in the form of 5 HUDs all with an integrated tinting ability to customize things that much further. It offers up the question of why bother picking up just a color or two when you’ll save money and have all the colors because even if you don’t use them today you may change your mind tomorrow or the next day.

Equal 10 runs through the 5th of May so there’s plenty of time to give it a look see!

Many of us have our favorite clothing brands in both the real world and in this virtual world, there are the ones that we buy just about every item they release but there is also room for those that while not everything that comes out works for you or fits your preferred mesh body choice the quality is at a high level. Lately for me that is the ExalteD brand.

A great handful of their products are definitely things I like (and more than likely own or will own) and the quality to me meets my criteria enough to shine a brighter light on them (not like they really need it!). I purchased this “Jumpsuit” at an event some time ago but just did not find the right inspiration to give it the proper featuring I felt it deserved. Yes, you can also even call them overalls if you like because that seems a bit more fitting but we’re allowed to see things as we like regardless of right or wrong.

This product fits both the Signature (Gianni) and Belleza body which I am wearing and comes with the Jumpsuit itself in two versions (regular and “big”) and includes a sweater which you can wear with it if you like. Probably if you were wearing these in a farm type setting you would definitely not be wearing the sweater with it and also be able to show off your physique but seeing as how my photo is a bit more moody and in a rainy setting it felt right the way I styled it.

Before I wrap things up I will encourage you to explore where this photo was taken. The place is called “Motorheadz Cafe” and the main feature of it is a biker bar but it is so much more than that. It is a very rural type location with houses and little shacks make this place a really enjoyable place to explore and as I did, take photos.

Finding locations to capture images that last in your mind are hard to come by and this particular place and scene are something that I’ll remember for quite a while to come and I hope it does with you as well. I also hope that if you yourself have or are going through a troubling time to know that while the storms may try to do you in they do not last and it’s what you do after the storms will be the best chapters in the story of your life.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#482] I Wish…

‘Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I’m always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all
So I just lean upon the wall
Or sit up in the bleachers with the rest of the girls
Who came to watch their men ball

Skee-Lo, ♫I Wish

With as many times as you’ve seen me do a photo with a basketball theme to it that I’m some kind of superfan but in reality it’s probably the one sport I watch the least. Not that I have any extreme dislike for it but it just doesn’t appeal to me like Baseball does (as it seems to be more of a chess match to me). I can also say though that it is easier to capture in a photo and more designers are making poses and props that represent it.

For example, take the pose and prop that I’m using in today’s entry. It’s the “Backyard Basketball” set from Image Essentials (a TCK blog partner) that is currently available at the eBento event. This is probably one of their more intensive products as not only do you have the front of the garage with asphalt driveway but you also have poses that are for single use and also poses for two people (to create one on one action scenes). Unfortunately at the time I was doing this photo there was no one available to work with so I went solo (like Han…yep corny I know).

You can check this item out at eBento until the 30th of April and if by some odd reason you procrastinate (which is a BAD idea) then you’ll be able to find it at the store shortly thereafter…but seriously go take a look.

April has been quite the busy month for the Modulus brand, which has just released (and thankfully right when I needed it) “Anthony” a backwards snapback cap with a tuft of hair sticking out of the hole above the snap strip. While in real life I personally prefer fitted hats (there seem to be very few of any good quality on the grid of the mesh variety) this hat is the best thing for headwear junkies like myself.

25 colors in 5 different HUDs (complete with integrated tinting as well as an the ability to change the design of the cap to which there are 6 options). For those of you who like to change your hair color on a whim a FATPACK is available at a discounted price which gives you all the colors and you’ll save a little pocket change. I’ve always often said that if you can’t choose on just one thing and there’s several to do the math and you’ll find that it’s better to buy everything at once and save yourself the hassle of spending extra money down the road.

“Anthony” is a part of the Shiny Shabby event that runs from the 20th of April until the 15th of May, lots of great items and designers from clothing, poses and home decoration; is very much worth grabbing a taxi ride from the credits below.

Although I’ve previously blogged the “FLAME” tattoo by { Speakeasy } this is probably one of the best and closest views that I’ve ever posted in a photo as I’m wearing clothes most of the time and rarely show much skin. I really am fond of this tattoo and in the past I usually would never wear one for more than a short time but this one has really won me over. I think that it has elements of some of my favorite things (roses, ravens, as well as clocks) and has a very true saying just under the right pec that says “Hearts are wild creatures that is why our ribs are cages”. I find that to be very true and if they were just free to roam you never know what kind of trouble they could get into or damage they could endure.

Kalback (formerly Kal Rau) has been around for ages and I haven’t really kept up with the brand all that much since they returned several years ago; it’s not because I’m no longer a fan it just seems that other things just took precedence or was more in my style wheelhouse. Their “Sweat Shorts M3” happened to be just the thing I needed for my outfit as I felt that if I was going to shoot hoops shirtless that wearing long pants would defeat the purpose of my styling. It’s probably a weird thought but just go with me on it would you?

These shorts are available at the current round of the Man Cave event which is ongoing until May 1st so you’ve still go time to check out all the guy goodness!

It could also be said that my look might be more 90’s inspired considering that I used Skee-Lo’s “I Wish” as the soundtrack for the blog post. This song has been entertained by me to be used in previous blogs but I just decided on something else because it might not have fit the way I wanted it to. This time I do think it does hit the right point that I wanted to achieve.

One final thing before I wrap this up, is I wanted to make mention that the shoes I am wearing are a Limited Edition of the FLI. Low Sk8 shoes that I’ve worn several times through the course of entries on the site. They are all black with flames on the side part of the sole of the shoe. I realized after I had finished with everything that I did not get a close-up of them but considering I blogged a version of them before (as well as the fact they are in limited quantity) running out and grabbing them before they are gone completely. There is also a Hi version of the shoe as well and they are both together to the right side of the store as you walk in. I couldn’t pass these up the moment I saw the ad for them and hopefully if there’s anyone reading this and likes them as much as I do that you are able to get them too.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and taking it as easy as possible. There’s more to come of course as I’ve got some goods from the newly open Men Only Monthly and of course more from Shiny Shabby which also reopened for it’s April/March round; I also hope to have at least one more look at this current round of Pose Fair before it closes as well so stay tuned!

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#480] Movies

I want you to be free
Don’t worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene

Alien Ant Farm, ♫Movies

One of my favorite things to do (when weather permits and funds are available) is go to the movies and a lot of time the cost to go these days is outrageous just for one person so I can only imagine what it is like for a family of four or more to go. There are places that have matinees or special deals to get you in to see the latest and greatest which is always the best time to go.

Being the geek that I am, the excitement for the latest Avengers movie “Infinity War” which comes out next Friday already has me itching to see it. Some say you can’t be a fan of both DC and Marvel comics apparently has never met me…because if it is comic book related I am going to see it because (comic books) are one of the things that helped me draw imagination as a youngster and though I don’t keep up with them much now (if at all) I still find ways of seeing what’s happened with certain characters of both imprints.

Pose Fair has some time left but I wanted to make sure that I featured the pose that I am using for this scene because it blends a bunch of things that I love together. The idea of going to the movies and getting some buttery popcorn to munch on as one loses themselves in the worlds that are being created in front of them on the screen. ASO has captured that with their exclusives for the fair and they deserve applause for how simple yet great these poses are.

That’s right, ASO! created two different poses which you can use in a movie theater setting or inside of one (there are tons of options you can work with as far as scenery) with realistic looking popcorn (one pose contains a bag and the other just some popcorn you are tossing into your mouth). The detail on the popcorn when you move close to it is nearly mind blowing. This was one pose that was fun trying to create an idea and visual around and I hope to see more from them in the future that is just as appealing and I have no doubt there will be.

Remember that you have until the 30th of April to hit the Pose Fair for all your photography and blogging needs before the doors close.

Modulus has a been on fire lately with releasing a ton of new hairs and have event updated some of the skins and one thing is for certain and I’ve said this before and I could say it until I’m blue in the face, Chucky Hollak is a man dedicated to his customers. At FaMESHed you can take a look at the “Baptiste” hair which is a a side swept hair of short to medium length which you can have shaved back and sides or just a normal under hair.

It reminds me slightly of a hairstyle that a younger Leo DiCaprio might have had at one time (which to you could be a good or bad thing but I’m looking at it like it is a good thing regardless of any kind of personal feelings about the actor as it isn’t relevant here). I went with the brown color HUD which has been my go to lately (previously always wore black but have been changing it up). If you are or even aren’t a fan of brown there are plenty of choices with 25 colors overall distributed through 5 different HUDs with an integrated tinting application. Of course a FATPACK is also available for those of you that just like to try different things on any given day and stick to one hairstyle for a while.

Check this out at FaMESHed right now which runs through the 27th of April.

When I had my look, pose and idea settled upon the next step was for me to figure out how to compose my image. One thing I know I wanted to do was use a movie theater and KraftWork has a really amazing build that I’ve had for a while and I did my best to attempt to build a scene but that’s not really my forte in the larger scheme of things. Then I realized that the sim, The Last Forever, was created in part by the brand’s owners and a small collective of people; everything I needed to get my vision accomplished would likely be there.

I took a small field trip and a few moments after arriving I saw the exact shot that I wanted and went right to work.

As I wrap things up I encourage you to take a look at The Last Forever and also check out KraftWork, who are a fine creator of decoration and builds that may help those of you who are adept at creating scenes yourself to be inspired for your own pictorials. My requirements as a blogger for Pose Fair have also been met but considering the event is still running and there’s plenty of good things that I’d like to use, you’ll likely see more from the event in some of my upcoming blog posts.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#479] Hey Time You’re No Friend Of Mine

Will you be there
To catch when I stumble when I fall
When I fall

Its so very clear
You left me when I had no one at all
No one at all

Creed, ♫Time

The last week or so has proven to be one giant test for me personally and while I don’t feel compelled to go into details I will say that having an outlet such as blogging has been something of a godsend because it’s helped me from falling over the edge into places that I don’t really want to go. Frankly, if I did I might not ever return from them.

One thing that I have learned is that we don’t know what’s around the corner; there are no absolutes. People come into our lives and for whatever reason sometimes they don’t stay there and there may not be a clear cut view of why or how…it just happens.

It has brought me to the thought that while time is infinite regardless of where we are within it and how long we have, it is our enemy. We can carry our weapons silently ready to fight it when it comes and each battle leaves you scarred on the inside until finally time rallies and strikes that one final blow….that’s the cycle and that’s what we have to contend with every day and most days we don’t allow our conscience to dwell or think about it.

The idea for this post has been in the making for months and I’ve had it in my head for longer than I can recall but all the pieces were not quite there yet until I came across a unique pose from SamPoses at Pose Fair. “The Fallen Angel” is exactly as it says it is with a kneeling battered wings with missing feathers and a bit of blood.

It was the last piece I needed to finally filter this idea from out of my head.

At the beginning I had purchased the Distorted Dreams “Lost Time” skybox and wanted so badly to do something with it but I just couldn’t come up with anything and so I kept it in my inventory in plain sight that I could use it the moment I had something to go with it. I love the apocalyptic broken clock tower vibe that it gives off; it also plays into what I’ve said just a few paragraphs ago as well.

Go& See released a set of eyes around Halloween last year that I’ve been itching to use as well because of the skybox, one of the eyes in the pack is a clock and thought it was a great addition to the whole atmosphere of what I had in my head visually. All of the eyes that are from Go&See are for CATWA branded eyes and will only work with them, which if you do not have a pair with a head or standalone you are missing out.

My good friend (and sister from another Mister) Lee Valentine of the LV Designs brand released a new skin at The Darkness event (if you recall in the previous post, “Shin” is also from the same brand so I am piggybacking yeah!) It is called “Angel” and comes in two tones both of which are compatible with Stray Dog tones 01 and 02 and there are two different HUDs for each tone. Not only is there a regular version of the face (with and without brows) but also a “Fallen” version with goth type lipstick and guyliner.

As much as I wanted to use the “Fallen” version in this blog entry it just did not work with the theme overall but I really think it was a great idea and concept so I’m going to give extra points to Lee for using some out of the box thinking for this release to make it even more cool and befitting of The Darkness event. The event runs until the 28th of April so you still have time to check this skin out and all the other cool items at the event.

Now that I’ve managed to finally get this idea out of my head it feels good to see it digitally in front of me and while a lot of times my thoughts are way more vivid than some of my skills can convey, this turned out nice enough that I am satisfied and can move on to one of the next visuals that I’ve had running around in my head recently or whatever may spring up spur of the moment when I see something outstanding that I want to feature right away. With that all said I am going to wrap this one up and leave you to browse the credits while there is one more day of weekend to freely get your shopping on.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#478] Mister Lover Lover

Give me your digits, jot down your address
I’ll bet you confess
When you put me to the test

Shaggy, ♫Boombastic♫

With spring not quite yet being spring, I thought I would brighten up these pages with a little sunshine type inspiration and I know that I’ve achieved that with the help of the newest creation from Bakaboo. The “Summer Coat” and “Signature Pants” that have just recently hit the racks at On9 are just the thing that will kick those weather related feelings out the door.

Ocean Blackthorne has a command of unique design and color combinations which is what I admire most about his creations. I know that when I put them on I feel a bit more energetic and pumped up. The suit jacket and pants are sold separately and come in three colorways (Ocean, Sunrise which I am wearing, and Sunset) and are standard sizes XS-XL which with the right alpha cuts will work with any body (unless you are built like a tank).

Choosing which set I was to wear was simpler than I could have ever imagined as I know that most people would pick either Ocean or Sunset (blue and red based respectively) but I really had my eyes set on Sunrise (which is a golden yellow base) because it just brightened the whole idea of what I was going for a look and doing my best to be ethnically diverse (and hopefully I didn’t fail at it).

The Pose Fair is still going strong and as an official blogger one of the things I like is that they want us to focus not just on the brands that are sponsoring the event but also the pose stores that you may or may not have heard of and draw attention to them as well which it is my pleasure that as a first for me I am using a pose from the “Classic Male” set by Mouni Poses. There are 6 poses in the set that would definitely make for good photography whether it be a part of a scene or if you are just shooting a profile picture, you can’t go wrong either way.

With the way I am posing you can definitely see that this guy is a true love machine (I couldn’t think of anything better and I thought that might get a laugh out of those who know me so what the heck right?)

On social media I’ve been hyping up wanting to go to the NEO Japan event which is in it’s final week of its very first round; I hope that it is doing well enough that we see another one. I have yet to go there but I will be doing so over the next few days to get my retail on but before I do that I wanted to make sure that I was able to show one of the latest Modulus hairs off.

“Alik” is a hair that feels as though it’s got a bit of product in it to get it to stand up just right and has just a bit of fly-away tufts at the temple area. The style of hair gave me the idea for doing an Asian style look that I feel like I have seen on perhaps a pop star or a celebrity of some sort and that was the mindset that I was working with as I started to build an idea.

For those not familiar with the Modulus brand (and I hope you would be by now because they are a part of many big events and continue to be added to more), there are 25 colors of hair within 5 different color HUDS, and you can get them all together which saves you some dollars if you can’t quite pick a color. On top of that each color HUD has integrated tinting as well to give you even more choices.

Lately when it comes to my face and skin I haven’t really changed it much (a departure from how I did things in the past as I would buy skins like they were going out of style). I found myself and a skin that I felt I was more like what I felt represented me (aside from blogging brand partner skins which is never an issue because I enjoy them and challenging myself to make great visuals with them). For this blog entry as I previously said I decided to go with an Asian flair and to aid me with that is the creator of my nearly every day face, LV Designs.

“Shin” is a face I would consider to be somewhere in the middle of the road, not overly masculine but not overly effeminate either and goes along with Stray Dog’s 01 body tone (for those of you who like to do that matching thing y’know). It is for CATWA heads (Daniel in particular even though I would have expected it to work better on Dino but I didn’t like how it looked) and has a brow and no brows option for those of you who may have a favorite type of eyebrow that you do not want to give up.

To top things off I also found myself strolling through the Shoetopia event which had a lesser male presence then I would have liked (note to creators…dudes by shoes too, especially this one) but I did find at least one silver lining…

Deadwool released a new pair of dress shoes for the event and I could not resist even though I tried with all my might not to leave there with the FATPACK but the little voice inside of me won out in the end and honestly I’m glad I did because there are so many different options and ways to color your shoes that you can wear any kind of suit and match these up with them and the best part is you don’t have to worry about socks because they are built in and can be turned on and off.

The Deadwool oxfords are fitted for Belleza, Signature (Geralt, Gianni) and SLink, there is also a fit for Maitreya for the gals out there; and an unrigged version for those who have bodies that I have not listed (but definitely try the demo out before you fork over any moolah).

We’ve reached that part of the blog where I lead you to the credits so that you can get your shop on and enjoy the rest of your day or evening whichever the case may be. I still have plenty of things I want to share so it will likely be back to the lab (which is either my platform or my kitchen depending on how things go haha). While you are at it, go check out Seraphim and see what events are going and make a day of shopping with friends or family and it’s Friday so there’s always FLF!!!

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#477] Root Of All Evil

You point your finger and play the victim
So take your best shot
Release the pressure

CFO$ (feat. Incendiary, ♫Root Of All Evil

For those who know me pretty well could tell you that I’m a fan of professional wrestling, I have been for a very long time. There’s always one time of year that excites me more than any other and that’s when it’s time for WrestleMania. I’ve seen every single one of them (the first few I was a bit young but when I was old and had access to them, I watched them and have watched most of them multiple times). I could probably go on forever about it but that would probably bore the non fan to death and that’s not really what I’m here for.

However, with that said, this particular blog post is an homage to one of my current favorites that is a part of World Wrestling Entertainment’s third brand, NXT. I patterned my look and the scene after a man named Aleister Black. I’ve always been a fan of the characters that seem to have a bit more edge to them and embrace their inner darkness and he does it to near perfection (as nothing is perfect). With every video or interview I have seen, I’ve become more and more of a fan and I believe people should check things out for themselves and base their own opinions so if you are a fan of sports entertainment (I still prefer the word wrestling) and you are not familiar with this man…google or youtube are definitely the perfect source for more.

For the second blog entry in a row I kept things simple and focused on one shot from the scene and made sure that it came out the best that it could and what you see above is the choice that was the winner. I definitely shoot more than one angle but I always go with the best angle that just gives me that feeling that it is the right choice.

The backdrop in the scene is from Anxiety (who doesn’t love their backdrops?) I thought that this definitely fit the darker tone that I was looking for and just in case anyone has any questions in their head, I’m not devil worshipping or anything like that. I’m merely meditating in a quiet and ominous cavern to tame my restless mind and focus my energies.

My outfit is purely L&B both the suit jacket and the slacks are a part of what is now being sold as a set. When the suit jacket came out a month or so ago at FaMESHed, I already had the slacks from a previous purchase so I was able to just pick up the jacket on its own but for those of you who do not own either of them, it’s a deal as a package and I’d recommend it. Quite a few color options in the included HUDs (the one that is for the jacket gives you the option to chance not only the color of the jacket but also the shirt and tie).

Last but not least is the pose which is from my friends at Image Essentials. The “Stretch” is a set of five yoga inspired poses and when I saw the meditation pose I knew that was the final and very awesome cherry on top of this scene sundae. As far as setting the mood goes, this definitely hit the top of the scale and came out how I had seen it in my head.

There are plenty more new things for me to blog this week which is now about half over so I’m going to get back to that and wrap this entry up and get you to the good part (the credits). For those of you who might be new to the blog and want to follow or get a hold of me, the social media contacts are to the right in the side panel. I always enjoy hearing from people if they have a song they’d like me to use as a soundtrack to a post I’d be more than happy to look into it.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…
