I‘ve been having a lot of fun playing around with different looks and things (both male and female) for the Skin Fair. I think that this event really brings out some of my happier blogging moments so I cannot say enough that it means a lot to me to be a part of the team. I’m not going to go into a long drawn out dialog about what’s going on in the world (because that is all you see anywhere). I will just say that since just about everywhere now has been advised to keep social distance that hopefully I’ll find a little extra time to belt out a few more posts because I have a lot of looks that I’m hoping to share.

We’ve been encouraged to have two different items as a part of our looks and I’ve gone one better and have used three. This is probably one of the only time during the course of the event that I’ll be doing this unless there may be another shape that suits the look I’m going for. Most of the time though I just throw things together and if they work I’ll snap the photo and if it doesn’t then I’ll mess around until I do find something that is to my liking (and I try not to use the same combinations that I might see in someone else’s work if it can be helped.

Vendetta Skins has three different offerings at Skin Fair and in this post I am showcasing the David skin for LeLutka, best used on the “Guy” head (which is what I personally think it looks best on). The skin comes in 4 different tones (1-4 of which I have on Tone 02) with brow and browless face types. It comes in both Bakes on Mesh tattoo layers as well as an applier HUD. The body skins are sold separately if you don’t already have other faces by Vendetta.

Lush has a face tattoo for sale that I happened to find intriguing. This is not something I would do in real life but I know more and more it’s become a trend (especially in the rap genre of music). It reminds me of Lil Peep’s face tattoos in a way and it could be what inspired this tattoo into existence. I can also tell you that this tattoo is unisex and comes packaged with BOM layers and applier HUDs for both CATWA and Omega Enabled mesh heads. Honestly it helped to complete my skater look more than I could have anticipated.

Shapes are one of the hardest things to really review (personally speaking). I do, however, like how that “Jedden” shape by The Natives works with the Vendetta skin and the LeLutka head. One other bonus is that the store went above and beyond by making a distinct frame for not only the Belleza (Jake) body but also both (Geralt and Gianni) by Signature. As much as I wish that other shape stores would do that to differentiate from the types these bodies have but it is something that gets a little extra thumbs up from me.

Skateboarding is not something I ever managed to take up in the real world as a younger man (I was a walking accident waiting to happen). At least through virtual photography I can pretend any time I wish that I am zipping through the streets or on the sidewalks of whatever sim I am on with the help of the “Pro Skater Pack 1” by Space Cadet. I have found that while the store tends to create for female avatars there is enough wiggle room that poses can be used by the guys as well. This set includes 5 different poses each with an attachable mesh skateboard (one for every pose).

The Pose Fair and Skin Fair events will be both ending by the end of next week so this is a kind reminder that you have time still to get all of the items that I’ve already posted about and all of the ones that I’ll be featuring in upcoming posts this week. Do yourself a favor and if you have the time to come by and look around and pick up something from either or both, you’ll be more than glad you did.

While my coverage of Vintage Fair 2019 is starting to come closer to an end there’s still plenty of time to visit and shop the event. While you are there I encourage you to explore and look around because because the sim is well put together and it would be a disservice not to check it out even if you cannot find anything you’d want to purchase.

Brenna joins me for this photo and I give her credit for giving me the idea for the song being used to back the post. There were several different choices for it but they were not as vintage as her suggestion so I she gets the win on this. So thank you for giving me a hand with this you’re the best!

I’ve tried being as vintage as I can with these posts but settings are hard to come by when you need them so if they are not entirely time accurate I’m just going to have to be forgiven for it. I’m just trying to blog great products and make sure that the event and items get seen by as many people as I possibly can starting with the pose/prop from Secret Poses called “The Ride”.

This mesh vintage convertible prop comes with 5 built in poses (adjustable via menu). I really enjoy classic cars as there are many from past era’s that are fun to look at during car shows or also on restoration programs where they rebuild an old classic. These machines are pieces of history that should be preserved if at all possible because it helps us see how designs have changed over the years and the technology that exists now that did not when these beasts roamed the roads.

In addition to that I am wearing the “Ruth” glasses by eVe. These unisex glasses have a unique throwback style to them and if they have a name I honestly could not tell you but at least I’m being honest instead of trying to fake it through a description. A resize script within the glasses help with any adjustments that need to be made and they also come with a HUD containing 4 different elements that can be recolored including the frame, lenses and embellishments. These glasses are unisex so they can be worn by anyone who enjoys a unique pair of shades.

I‘m going to make a quick note that I’m glad that Brenna came up with the Ritchie Valens tune as I do enjoy hearing his music when it plays somewhere or I go to it on a youtube video/link. In the real world I remember my mother mentioning him and how the world reacted to the news of his passing along with Buddy Holly and Big Bopper.

I saw this played out on film in La Bamba and can’t imagine what it was like for not only his friends by his family as well as there was talent there that could have continued to make music and maybe eventually be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Though it could also be said that it may never have happened and that it only became so special because he didn’t get to live a fulfilled life. Pretty sad to think about but with the music we were given, I’ll take it and be grateful for having heard it and experienced it.

[#620] Be Alright

Equal10 recently opened their April round and it’s definitely a good place to find some cool clothes and accessories for both men and women. Modulus has a new hair there that I was rather excited about getting my hands on as it is based off of a movie character that I am a huge fan of. There was definitely no way that I was going to let this one get away from my styling.

“Wick” is inspired from the character of John Wick (portrayed by Keanu Reeves in 3 different installments of which the 3rd has not been released). This is the first time that Chucky Hollak has tried his had at having a style which a completely parted middle and I think it’s fantastic when pairing it with a great hairbase. Of course I’m mostly a fan of black hair coloring but I can see myself trying out different tones with this hair.

Much like the last blog, my wardrobe consists of items already in my closet but the recent release collab between Tonktastic and Hermony is still really fresh. I experimented by wearing it without either version of the hood to see if it would work and to me I consider it a success and adds even more versatility to an already great article of clothing.

I also have to mention the new “James” skin by The Skinnery that my drinking buddy Mike is wearing. It’s a CATWA only applier and is intended for the Daniel head but he’s rolling with Victor and it still looks good to me. I think though that I’d be interested in seeing what it might look like without the beard (which is how the skin comes) but regardless it’s a good look.

By now it’s likely been noticed that I haven’t done much in the way of features in the last few posts but don’t worry, it’s not something I’m going to do away with because I feel like that is one of the things that combined with my thoughts on what I’m blogging gives this site it’s uniqueness. I have just not put together any scenes with items from sponsored stores or events but there will be more soon, I promise.

[#522] One More Day

Sometimes blogging much like regular writing can cause blocks in creativity and for the last week I’ve been experiencing just that. Trying to find the right products and the ideas to go with them has been troubling and it’s something I am not fond of but it does happen.

With a week removed from the opening of The Men Jail, I finally found some inspiration in the form of the “Duct Tape Gag” by Short Leash. While it has a lot more functions than I will possibly ever use it for (it has built in RLV which I will sheepishly admit that even after being around the grid for as long as I have…do not know the slightest clue about what it does). The tape itself was my way to relay some of the words from “One More Day” by 10 Years, which serves as the soundtrack for this post. This is the first time that I’ve encountered any kind out mouth tape that wasn’t an applier so I really thought it was creative and worthy of getting a feature on the blog; while it may not be for everyone it is a fun component to add to photos and even role-playing situations for anyone who might be holding someone hostage (not something I encourage just to make it known).

Not long ago I blogged one of the two hairs from Modulus at The Men’s Department and I’m finishing that event up by showing you the other offering at the event named “Zander”. This side combed hair is not super long in length and does a good job of keeping the eyes free from being covered and that is something I prefer from hairs of a longer nature.

Keeping up with the trend of offering mirrored versions of the hair, “Zander” definitely gets a thumbs up from me; I even chose a color from the vibrants HUD for a change of pace and really enjoy how it looks. So much that I’ll re-visit it again in the near future with another current release.

Go&See has been releasing quite a few eyes lately and I am certainly trying to stay on top of it but as I mentioned at the beginning of the post it’s been difficult for me because of the bit of a creative block that I’ve been going through. One thing that I haven’t done in four years of blogging has been giving myself the chance to take a break. It sounds silly that I should just allow myself that but in the back of my head I would feel as if I am letting the brands that associate themselves with me down and these small little interruptions never last long; another reason would be that if I stopped completely for a period of time I am too afraid that I would not return to it even though it is a passion and love of mine. This latest release “Pose” is a part of the current crop of items that are a part of this months round of PocketShop. If you are are unfamiliar with this it is a HUD based shopping experience that takes place monthly much like events but a catalog is posted on their website and also through the HUD which you can purchase for free via there in-world HQ or by going to their marketplace store. The items that are featured are also shown in the HUD so that you know exactly what you are purchasing and buying is easy and can be done one of two ways: purchasing credits or allowing the HUD to use funds from your account. It is extremely safe and something I’d recommend as it is a very nice alternative to trying to get into an event right away on opening day. The backdrop I am using comes from Paparazzi, it was originally from a previous round of Cosmopolitan and should now be in stores. The “Neon Hall” is very nicely constructed and has several points of illumination (which you can play with if you desire, which is a nice added option). At first I wasn’t sure how I wanted to use this backdrop but with the right ambiance it fit what I needed. However, my initial idea was to search for a location but nothing solid came to mind and after a bit of research I chose to go this route and I’m satisfied with the results and the mood I achieved with the “story” photo. I‘ve also decided to give my Gerald head another go with the latest skin release by Clef de Peau called “Hamilton”. I finally feel that with this skin I don’t look like I could be Russian (which there is nothing wrong with but not the aesthetic I am looking for). The skin was released not only for Vista but there is a CATWA version as well for anyone who is a CATWA purist and there are many out there who have not once strayed away from them (personally I like to try new things just to see if they can perform better than what I currently have). As I put a wrap on this post I realize that I probably do not share more about what drives the ideas behind these posts and hopefully I can get better at doing that. The fact that my brain can be complicated at times is an understatement and being able to completely divulge everything going on in my head is tough for me. There may be more to it and there may be nothing to it (yes that’s cryptic and I have been told I am good at that also). I would like to believe that my motivation for the inspiration of this post is not only from the song that provides the soundtrack but also the thought that sometimes all of us as humans tend to keep to ourselves and push things down. The more silent we are about them the more they grow into something that isn’t always beneficial to our overall well-being. Just talking to someone and knowing that they are there goes a long way and oddly enough sometimes living day to day is the best way to cope with situations around us. The interwebs are a powerful tool that if used properly can bring us all together or tear us apart and I personally opt to see everyone united and it’s hard but not completely hopeless. With The Men Jail event about to close the doors for the current June round, I thought I would sneak one more little post in because I really liked the pose set from Lush Poses. Personally I’m not a cigar person or even smoke in real life but I’ve always thought it was interesting and there’s no harm in it when it’s just your pixels. I thought to myself why not go for it and use this set while the idea was floating around in my head.

The Men Jail event is open until the 28th of June so time is running out to visit and find some quality products.

Currently the World Cup is going on and for all the Futbol nuts out there a trip to the Ultra event might be a necessity. ExalteD has released a jersey with so many options it just blows my mind and I definitely think that anyone that enjoys sports gear in-world will want this. I love wearing jerseys for just about any sport there is that I can get my hands on regardless of how much of a fan I am because if it looks cool to me then I’m wearing it. I really wanted to find a cool way to incorporate it and once I came across the Soccer shirt from ExalteD it became clear that it would definitely work in an outfit. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be a soccer hooligan with the cigar (but since I’m smoking on a train which is a no-no in the real world I guess I’m showing my rebellious side). To my knowledge this the last release that only had 25 colors total as now currently most if not all contain 40.

The vision I had for this post was considerably different but due to the fact that I could not find a location that fit I was able to come up with an acceptable compromise. The Ashbury Cove sim has a really cool train depot right at the landing spot and I knew that I could make it work and I intend to go back to spend more time exploring there when I get an extra moment between commitments. The train car itself is really super detailed and blew me away and well worth checking out.

The next time there’s an entry it will be a milestone, the 500th blog entry and for me I knew that eventually it would come but it seems like time has just flew by over the past 4 years and I still love doing this as a creative outlet, hobby, and cheap therapy session. The ride is certainly far from over and until our paths cross again,

[#498] How’s It Go Again?

Putting fun (or just funny) scenes together is something I do like to do even though most of the time it seems like everything on this blog is super serious. I like to try and show a little bit of everything when I can so that’s what I’ve got going on in this post. I’d say that I came into contact with this song that I’m using for the soundtrack of the blog about maybe 3-4 months ago when I was traveling and listening to the radio. I thought that it was a really upbeat type of song even though some of the lyrics to it are a bit deep and maybe even troubled. I have at times felt this way in my life and I’m sure many others have too but there’s always someone in our life that brings our spirits up and we might not have seen them recently.

This is dedicated to those people because no matter how long time passes between visits or communication they always have that special place.

As my coverage for my first round as an official blogger of The Men Jail is winding down, I have several different items that are making an appearance here because I wanted to get as much as I could in when it was applicable. The event has such a variety of things so choosing what to show has been a bit of a struggle for me but in a good way. I hear things from others saying that they have hard time blogging items from events because it doesn’t fit what they do or whatever the reason might be but I am of the mentality that I can make just about anything work and I’m going to try win, lose, or draw.

Poses are something that you can always easily apply to a photo because it’s essentially a lifeblood to help you capture something unique (unless you are a landscape or decorative blogger than that does not apply) and {Phantom Animations} latest release “Cart Saga” definitely fits the bill. “Cart Saga” is definitely something fun as who doesn’t remember goofing around in their youth at the grocery or at the local retail chain goofing off with the carts with siblings or friends. It’s very possible that adults may attempt to do this as well to a lot less favorable outcome.

As a part of my look I’m wearing the Purfect “Mesh Beard A 012” which when it comes to mesh beards I figured I’d be tweaking it or trying to tweak it so much that I’d end up getting frustrated and giving up and wouldn’t end up using it but this beard was super easy to do a simple tweak and it fit my face “purfectly” ok that was a bad pun but I have to throw one in there now and then. I seriously like this beard and it’s not so much a hipster style beard and for a moment before I added hair to my look I thought I kinda had the “Eric Young” look going on (if you have no idea who he is hit up Google to learn more about him!)

My third and final item is from another brand that I’ve heard of but like Purfect is making it’s first appearance here on the blog. MP Style has been around for a while but for some reason I just haven’t gotten around to showing any of their stuff until their TMJ item “Bruno White Shorts” and could also quality as a Bermuda pant as they go past the knee. I am a fan of any short that doesn’t go too far above the knee like your inner thighs have swallowed the material and I know that some people like that style but I don’t feel it looks right on me.

Fortunately I’m able to show off the latest Modulus hair from The Men’s Department with over a week left in the round. Hopefully in the near future I’ll be able to get myself together with taking photos and getting them posted but sometimes my energy levels suck and I just can’t force myself to post something because then I’ll hate it and if I don’t like it how are the brands I am blogging going to like it? It’s a multifaceted process and I’ve made it goal after posting something that I realize I wasn’t feeling 100% to never consider “phoning it in” again.

The “Joey” hair is a short to mid length style that is combed off to the right, I have the sides and back of my head shaved to give it more depth. Hair is another thing much like facial hair that sometimes needs a bit of resize tweaking to look it’s best on you and I didn’t have to do much of that with this product or usually any of Modulus’ hairs.

For this particular scene I’m wearing a tone from the Browns pack as that’s been my signature hair color as of late.

I was also able to get the credits from my buddies look and can tell you that I may have to take a trip to Men Only Monthly to get the A&D “Gregory” shirt because it looks pretty cool. He’s also wearing the latest group gift from Akeruka which is the “Leon” fully loaded Deluxe Mesh Head…yes that’s right you can join their group (it costs only 150L) and you can take home a fully functional mesh head but there’s a catch (as most of the time there is) and that is it is for a limited time only so you have to get to their main location before the 1st of July otherwise you’ll miss out!

My last featured product that also comes from The Men’s Department event are the “Zoe” Sneakers from Native Urban. Don’t let the name fool you this are unisex shoes that you can wear and use for exercising, jogging, or just hanging out with your favorite people. I love that the Fatpack version has so much customization and sure in this photo I played it safe to match my outfit but I can always do something really different in future looks. Native Urban really has a good sneaker game and I’m pretty strict about my footwear.

Now that I’ve run out of wind I feel I got a bit heavy handed with writing this entry and could have probably went further but I don’t want to overkill anyone that might be reading or visiting for the first time. Merry Christmas everyone or Yule for those of you who participate. I didn’t anticipate having the time to be able to post anything for a few days with the holiday festivities but I managed to steal a few minutes of time while the family festivities calm down a bit. I’m not going to get overly wordy this time since I figure everyone that views this is going to be doing it on the fly.


I really wanted to do something upbeat since I have been in a super good mood lately and the song I chose as the theme for this really fit in with some of the elements of the scene. It also helps that Paparazzi created a backrop that came complete with a Fire Escape, how did that happen to work out so well? I really just needed to find the right outfit and I feel like I did.


This blog entry features goodies from Avi-Glam (a brand partner), TonkTastic & Hermony (brand partner as well), Bleich, and Ohemo. I suppose you might be able to classify this look as hipster, though I’m not sure where the line starts to blur as I’m not wearing a thick beard in this look; I made it colder weather chic with the sweater and beanie as well.

As I just mentioned, this post includes Avi-Glam which I am featuring two items (one older and one newer). The skin comes from the Man Cave event and is called “Nero” and I’ll tell you more about it down in the credits. The “Hope Eyes” I have previously blogged but I had not worn this particular color before and really liked how it looked with the rest of the look I put together.


In other great news: this past week CATWA released a new male head to add to their lineup. “Victor” is his name and he definitely has a charming but rugged look to him. I will give you more of my thoughts down in the credits as well. I think it is one of their best releases though that has come along and I was excited for it before it even hit the store.

With the latest male head release, CATWA has the fellas scrambling to the store to check out “Victor”. Personally I feel like it’s a cross between the “Daniel” and “Stanley” heads but just a little more toned down in the jaw region. Not as hardlined as “Stanley” which for those who were not a fan of the head might gravitate towards this one a littel bit more. It comes with several different neck choices as well as a few add-ons for the teeth. Everything you’ve come to expect from CATWA is a part of this product.

That is one of the reasons why I like these to brands doing a crossover because you’re going to get style from the jump. I originally bought these jeans at the November round of Men Only Monthly and couldn’t find anything I wanted to pair them with until now. I like the worn look of these jeans as Legal Insanity is really good for making quality products with that specific style in mind. I am a really big fan of their jeans as I’ve purchased quite a few pairs of different styles over time. The quality is what brings me back to them when they release something I really like.

I found this beanie at one of the previous rounds of Cosmopolitan but sadly time restraints and other scenes I wanted to do prevented me for featuring it during the round it was offered up at. This beanie works well with the CATWA head because of the alpha feature that allows for the ears and back of the head to go invisible for wear with hats like this. Two versions are included (one with materials and one without) and there are several different colors to choose from other than black which I felt suited me best.

This backrop was the originally available at the Limit8 event, however, it was not the Limited Edition version and should still be available by heading over to the Paparazzi main location. While you are there take a look at some of their other useful backdrops as I’ve been featuring them quite a bit in the last few scenes that I’ve put together. This building with a fire escape built in is a sight to behold; photos do not really even do it justice compared to looking at it up close. This brand really knows how to create useful backdrops that any photographer or blogger can use to create magic.

With the current round of Man Cave ending in just a few days (Oct 3rd), I wanted to make sure I got in some of the last minute goodies that I am finally putting to use for the look in this entry. Some brands that I haven’t featured in a while helped fuel this punk inspired adventure.

Alongside items from the Man Cave event, this entry has a heavy presence from my sponsor Avi-Glam. With another iris color from the “Charm Eyes” set as well as the new “Dorian” skin from Men Only Monthly it goes to show you how hard of a worker the creator, Kendra Parfort is.

Being a fashion blogger/reporter or visual artist (whatever you want to categorize it as) makes each scene primarily about fashion but having a great background and pose is just as equally important. After I found the look I wanted, I dug into my bag of tricks to find a pose prop (with included poses) and a backdrop that put the finishing touches on what you see here. I’m rather happy with the results of this scene.

I haven’t purchased a Kalback item in a while but when I saw the different designs for this shirt (music ones always catch my attention), it was a must have even if I wouldn’t have used it for a look. The quality is very good as I have known this to be from the former brand known as Kal Rau. There are many different designs to choose from and there are even two separate packs to choose from that have exclusive shirts just for those packs. It also has the option to have short sleeves or long sleeves for a layered look.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a shoot like this so I felt inspired after hearing the song that serves as the theme of this post. As you’ll witness, there are more items from the Hipster Men’s Event and also The Men’s Department. There were a lot of good finds at each place for me so I’m trying to feature as much of them as I can before I start doing coverage of Indie Teepee items as well as from Men Only Monthly that opened for a new round on the 20th. The moment I arrived at the Hipster Men’s Event, I was greeted by the “Johnny” sleeveless shirts. Call it a tanktop if you like (as I certainly do) this is another product by Legal Insanity that I couldn’t pass up. There are tons of different designs to choose from but seeing as I am a big fan of lions this is the one I stuck with. There is a black version and also a dark blue version of this shirt. I didn’t want to overload my look with blue considering I have blue hair and my surfboard and trunks both have blue in them. This product has sizes for Aesthetic, Belleza, Signature, SLink, and TMP mesh bodies for those of you that own one of those.
