[#494] Street Fighting Man

Hey! Said my name is called disturbance
I’ll shout and scream, I’ll kill the king, I’ll rail at all his servants
Well, what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock ‘n’ roll band
Cause in sleepy London town
There’s no place for a street fighting man
No

Street Fighting Man, ♫The Rolling Stones

We’re almost at the end of the week but I’m actually able to post a true “Throwback Thursday” type blog. Using the rousing tunes of The Rolling Stones, I bring products from two new events to life. That’s how I’m going to start out this entry is by giving you some new news concerning the blog which I feel is really good for me personally as I continue to grow and see things prosper.

I’ve been accepted as an official blogger for The Men Jail event which begins its new round tomorrow, June 08th. The event has so many different products from clothing, to furniture, as well as tattoos. There’s so many different things for just about everyone so I’m proud to be affiliated with it and that they think I do a good enough job that they want me to represent them as well; I hope that it will be just like my other partnerships that are very nicely matched.

There are several items I have in this post from the event but the one I’m focusing really one the most in my main story shot is the pose which is from a set by Kokoro Poses called “Henrique”. It has 5 different static bento poses that will easily be able to fit your own blogging and photography needs whichever one you might possibly partake in (or could be none as well).

The item that makes me correlate with the soundtrack of this post is the “MICKEY” skinaddon from [FLAWS] that makes me more of a “Street Fighting Man” this applier which comes available for CATWA and OMEGA allows you to place a fresh or head gash on your nose. Of course what ruffian wouldn’t come to the party without a busted up face of some sort…that’s what being a tough guy is all about!

It’s been a while since I’ve worn any tattoos in photos but this time I felt that if I was going for a tough guy look that I needed some ink and it just so happens that Facade is releasing a new tattoo at TMJ called “Salvation” it has both fresh and faded version with a HUD that will apply to all major mesh bodies as well as OMEGA so that no matter what you are covered to wear this tattoo on your person. I think that it has an element of a prison tattoo but isn’t as rough as some of them tend to look which probably says that it is a post prison tattoo? I’m rambling a little bit too much on this so I am going to move on to the next bit.

Last for my goodies from The Men Jail is the “Erick” facial hair from Clever Language and I would have loved to see how it would have looked with the nose cut but my CATWA head just was not being friendly with me and kept pulling one or the other off when I tried to apply despite trying to use different layers for them both which gave me a solid reason to break out my LeLutka head because both applied without any problems whatsoever. If you aren’t planning on wearing these two products together or can figure out a fix by all means let me know because I’d appreciate it. This facial hair applier comes with both a CATWA and OMEGA friendly applier with a black hair version as well as tintable for those of you who have varying colors of hair.

The Men Jail runs until the 28th of June so find some time during your next shopping trip to take a look through what is all there is to offer fellas.

At the beginning of the post I mentioned that not only was I featuring The Men Jail products but also The Vintage Fair which also starts tomorrow (June 08th) and I was able to get a sneak preview of the event and while not every designer was set up at the time, I did manage to bring home a new hat/hair combo that I thought really started my thought process going of putting a look of a tough guy together.

Lock&Tuft will have for sale the “Cutler” hair which has a flatcap as part of the product. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a cap like this and it’s cool that it’s been paired with longer hair in the back. It reminds me a little bit of former lead vocalist from the rock group AC/DC who was known for having at hat like that as well as hair in that kind of style. I purchased the FATPACK which gives all of the colors as well as a HUD that allows you to change the color of the cap.

Now that I’ve covered the majority of what I feel were my key thought points it is time for me to put this blog post to bed allow you to get prepared to start the weekend and planned shopping trips. Check back in soon for more bloggage and cool new and recent releases from brands that I believe in highly. Also one quick thing is this is the second straight post that I’ve visited the sim, Rieri Town in Tokyo which is a really excellent place to explore and for fellow photographers/bloggers you’ll enjoy exploring and finding your own spot to snap a photo.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#489] With A Little Help From My Friends

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends

The Beatles, ♫With A Little Help From My Friends

Anytime I get to use a song by The Beatles as the soundtrack to a post I definitely jump at the opportunity and with the latest pose from Image Essentials, this was perfect for it.

Gimme A Boost is a bento pose with tree prop where I’m trying my best at climbing a tree but have enlisted Brena’s help to give me that little extra push to get up there. Now the question is when I do get up into the tree what am I going to do there and even more importantly how am I going to get down? I’m not a fan of heights so that could prove to be a bit of an issue!

You can find this unique pose at the current round of eBento that is just at about the halfway point but you have until the 31st of May to head to the event and take a look for yourself.

The current round of FaMESHed is still going strong and I managed to dig into my haul from the event on the second trip I made to it by putting on the DUFAUX “Jordan” tanktop. I buckled and because it had FATPACK only options that is the route I went as it’s getting to be that time of year where I might utilize tanktops in my photos and this is clearly a well made product that has several features that I find to be interesting.

The straps on the tanktop have tongue closures like you might find on a fanny pack (yes I know I’m reminding people of a horrible trend that seems to be trying to snake its way back into popularity). To my knowledge I have not seen anything like this in any of the fashions that I own but it makes it different from any other tanktop that I have in my wardrobe.

One of the coolest features about the “Jordan” tanktop is that it has the ability for you to import a design and apply it to the front of the tanktop. That way if you have a blog logo or some kind of branding you want to show on the front of your tanktop then you could proudly display it for all you encounter to see. This is the second release from DUFAUX that I believe uses this and it’s definitely something I think is cool.

The Men’s Department by far is one of the staples for male fashion, accessories and furniture and probably one of my most frequently visited events. I may have said this before or I may repeat it again in the future but that is only because it is the truth and one of the sources to help me find new brands to add to my arsenal or keep up with brands that I love.

During this round of TMD my friends at Modulus released a new hair that I instantly knew would be just right for the look I was putting together. “Danny” is the latest in the Alpha Hair line from the brand and it gives me a real chill vibe which is what I wanted my look to portray and for the second time I am using the “Roots” HUD which is one of the new features that was recently added to Modulus products.

I have been a part of the Modulus blogger team for a long time, since the beginning I’d say and one thing that I can say as an observer of things is that the quality has always been top notch but the fact that it continues to get better with each passing moment is a testament to the fact that when it comes to releasing products you are getting the very best out of anything Modulus releases no matter if it is hair, skins or once in a while clothing (which it’s been a long time since a clothing item has been but never say never about them returning).

As I wrap this up I definitely want to express that I really enjoyed putting this scene together as it was light, funny, and humorous. I never know what is going to inspire me at a split second’s notice and I start snapping photos and the range of feelings and emotions vary on these pages and that is something that onlookers will come to know from my work. Though I certainly enjoy hearing about putting smiles on people’s faces or knowing that something I might have written or a photo itself has given someone a topic of conversation. Anyone who may be observing and would like to have a conversation feel free to contact me because I’d really enjoy hearing from you.

It’s been a pleasure once more and until our paths cross again,

[#470] Into The Abyss

Into the abyss
Nothing that I know, I can’t hear what you say
Am I already dead, into the abyss

Three Days Grace, ♫The Abyss

Lately it seems I’ve done a few blog entries with shots taking place in a prison cell; while I myself have never actually been locked up in a penitentiary it can be a very good metaphor of locking yourself up on your own prison. There are times that we isolate ourselves from various things for reasons that we don’t have an explanation for even when it sometimes seems demanded by those around you. As much as you wish they could help you there’s no true way for them to because you just have to find your own way to freedom.

Blogging itself can be very freeing at times when you come up with what you think it is a good look and a good setting/lighting/windlight etc.. Other times you can consider it a prison as well when you hit a creative block and designers that are counting on you to promote their items for an event or release at their store and there is a deadline for it. You tend to feel locked away but the best thing you can truly do is loosen up as difficult as it may sound. There are bloggers out there who seem to never take breaks and continue to create great looks and posts and I admire them for that but I know who I am creatively and I work hard at creating something that I’m not going to look at when I’m scrolling through my Flickr feed or anywhere else I’ve shared it on social media and get a gag reflex because in my mind it was horrible to me.

For the soundtrack to this blog, I choose a relatively newer song from Three Days Grace (thanks to a discussion with my colleague Lucky). While it may not be the Three Days Grace (the Adam Gontier version) that I am more of fan of, the song itself fit the mood of what I wanted to go for and encapsulated some of the feelings going through my head as I was going through the stages of editing and now writing this entry.

There are not as many pieces to list and cover in the credits as there were last time so it will be a little less frenetic to list them. I wanted to keep this idea simple and for it to be effective and I feel I did that with the help of the “Alcatraz Cells” by Mad’. Out of any of the prison backdrops or skyboxes that I have used, this one felt like it gave me the most realism and creativity with how it was built and textured so hats off to Eve Kazan (sorry I know you have a more prolific name in world but this way people will find you easier) for making such a great prop to aid me in this shoot.

Major applause to the DUFAUX brand for this prison jumpsuit that you can get as a group gift right now at their in-world store. This well designed one piece outfit is also one of the best I’ve seen of its kind in a long time and the fact that it fits the Aesthetic, Belleza, Signature (Gianni) bodies is a plus as well. Though for those people who are still wearing SLink, NX-Nardcotix, and TMP are left out of the fun on this. Though maybe with a little adjusting and alpha cuts it could work alright for them and as it is a gift it can’t hurt to give it a try.

Here’s a better and fuller look at the “Alcatraz Cells” which as I said is put together nicely. It includes the pose you see in both pics and has poses for both genders so it is a unisex pose prop/backdrop. In all there are a total of 4 poses (each gender) that range from laying to sitting and also standing. It is fully furnished to fit the poses that are built in so you don’t have to worry about finding your own prison cell furnishings because that can be a task by itself if you’ve ever tried it (and I’ve looked into it before).

Also I have a double dose of Modulus for you in this entry. I’m finalizing my coverage of Skin Fair 2018 by wearing the “Geron” skin for CATWA brand heads and having blogged all of the M-Bare skins from the fair, I honestly cannot pick which one is my favorite of the three that were released. If I were actually backed into a corner and asked about it though I would say I might favor “Garrett” because it was a great reason for me to wear the LeLutka “Andrea” head. Few skins I’ve seen for it have honestly motivated me but “Garrett” did. Geron is just as handsome and maybe a less edgy compared to Graham also for CATWA. There is definitely a difference between them as Victor was the head I wore for both which gives you parity (sometimes skin creators tend to release things that look way too similar and Chucky is good about not doing that.)

Here’s an extreme closeup of the Geron skin as well as the best look of the “Drew” hair that’s currently out for sale at the Man Cave event. As much as bloggers love to hear how much they are valued, I also think that creator’s also need to be shown they are valued as well. There are times you see how people may not say great things about the people that make the clothes or skins they wear or the hair on top of their heads. Some of it may stem from ungratefulness and when they do see that it does effect them. I want to express my gratitude for Chucky Hollak and the Modulus brand because I know a little bit about what he does and he’s a hard worker and does so to provide great things for us to use and photograph every day. Thank you for having me be a spokesperson for your brand as well, it means a lot and probably more than I could ever say in words or actions.

Now that I got that off my mind I can talk more about “Drew”. This hair has similarities to Harvey in a way but what gives it a different character is how hair separates in the middle. You get the same great amount of colors as all releases from Modulus (25 in all across 5 different color packs with the option of purchasing them all in a FATPACK). I’m not sure where the inspiration for this came from but it reminds me a little bit of some scenes from the Netflix version of The Punisher, towards the end of the series and also in some flashbacks.

Quite a bit of time has passed since one of the last eye releases by MESANGE but I’m happy to be wearing one of the newest releases that is currently a part of the latest round of We Love RP. The “Wyn” eyes are really stunning as you can see in the up close shot and there are 14 other colors available for eyes enabled for Omega as well as mesh eyes. I really hope to see more eyes as the brand has shifted their focus to creating tattoos (which are great as well but are more female oriented). Perhaps we’ll see more eyes at the next round of We Love RP, keep your eyes peeled because if there are you’ll see them here.

It’s that time once again for me to wrap this entry up so that I can leave you with the credits and begin sorting things out for the next idea and visual you’ll see. Soon I will be celebrating my “Bloggiversary” and perhaps will create a special entry just for that (and I hope I am able to come up with something worthy of it).

Onto the next conversation…

[#421] And I Am Stronger Now

You want to tear me down
You want to hold me down
You can’t control me now
You cannot take me out
You cannot save me now
Because I’m stronger now

Stronger♫ – Trust Company

As you may have noticed, I did a mini makeover to the layout of the site and will be continuing to do maintenance on it a little bit until I’ve reached my own personal satisfactory level. I find that change can be a good thing after a while if you feel like something doesn’t look right to you anymore or feel like it could use a “new coat of paint” as it were. There were some things I felt that were a necessity personally for me and for the site, which you’ll easily notice that the header remains unchanged. It may get tweaked a little as well but I’m not as much into a hurry to delve into that.

As the season is starting to change and in my part of the world the daylight doesn’t last as long as it did even a few weeks ago, along with the leaves starting to turn color and falling from the trees..I feel a bit hesitant to start purchasing clothing that is better used in open outdoorsy type scenes. I have a few things in mind that could be coming up but first I want to try and get other things done that have been tucked away in my brain.

This scene’s overall look is a hodge-podge of a lot of different things. Most of it from events that are just about to end their current rounds to ones that have just started. Not to mention the Marketplace, where I have been finding quite a few things to use in my photo sessions.

For this entry I only have one featured product from my brand collaborators. MESANGE has been kind enough to share with me “The Ripple Eyes” from the current round of Men Only Monthly. I’ll give you a few more specifics in just a bit down in the credits portion of this post.

I also managed to make trips to The Men’s Department which recently opened a little over a week ago; I also stopped at the newest round of Man Cave which surprisingly I did not find as much as I normally do but I still didn’t leave there empty handed (I’m a habitual shopper, I can’t help it!)

I really feel like this scene turned out really well. I wasn’t trying to overthink the windlights and felt that my use of LUMIPro turned out decent. Sometimes I even wonder if I’m putting it to use the right way but it is easy to second guess yourself. You’ll probably also notice the color scheme of my clothing and yeah I was feeling a bit nerdy at the time so I went with something a bit obvious.

With another scene in the books I hope that you’ve found at least one thing interesting and will take the provided transportation to the stores and events I’ve linked to. It’s always a pleasure to be as helpful and to maybe inspire someone to create a scene of their own with their own vision. I’ll see you all again just up the road!

Onto the next conversation…

HAIR⊱ ~Tableau Vivant~ Kawashima I – Winter ♯ Marketplace

This is not a new item but I couldn’t help but make the comment that it is one of my most favorite hairs in my entire inventory. I’ve worn it many times as it has been out for what seems like forever but still holds up with all the newer products being sold on the market today. It’s been moved to the Tableau Vivant Marketplace as it is no longer for sale in their store. Guys who are looking for a longer hair that might be what you’d consider vintage but still stands tall…check this out, you won’t be disappointed.

HEADLeLutka – Andrea v 3.1
EYES⊱ MESANGE – The Ripple Eyes @ Men Only MonthlyNEW

I had to make sure I got this in before the end of the current round (for those of you wondering it’s the 15th of November). I love the swirling colors that are intertwined in this set of eyes as I am with all of the other MESANGE releases. You have 15 colors to choose from which for those of you who want variety can get in a HUD with the FATPACK. Mesh eyeballs are also included for those of you who choose not to or just do not have Omega friendly eyes.

FACEStray Dog – Cody T2
BEARDBeusame // Beard V50
BODYBelleza – Jake
TATTOOProdigy Ink – Beckham

This body ink is patterned after a certain celebrated Futbol (Soccer in America) star from Britain. It comes in three different opacities (Fresh, Regular, or Faded) and comes with system layers as well as appliers for Omega, SLink, and TMP for you fellas. Female appliers are also included for those of you gals who might be interested as well.

TANKTOP⊱ DUFAUX – Sporty Tank – Purple @ Man CaveNEW

When I was browsing the Man Cave event, I came across this pretty cool tanktop. There were several color choices and I was a bit vexed when it came to choosing but as I stated earlier I was feeling a bit nerdy so I with with Purple. I would have probably liked the FATPACK for the special edition colors that came with it but at the moment I’m on a bit of a budget so I had to sacrifice and pick one. I’m certainly not disappointed with the fit of this tank. Originally my idea for the scene was to go without a top but when I saw this I knew for sure this would be perfect for a workout scene.

COMPATIBLE With: Aesthetic, Belleza and Signature male bodies.

PANTSYACK – Lazaro

Most people (mind you I say most but not all) do their workouts in either shorts or some kind of track pants so that’s the idea I had in mind as I was putting this together. Yack is a brand that I’ve purchased items from before and went to their store recently for something different and these pants caught my attention. I hadn’t started putting this look together yet so I didn’t get them right away but I do go back to set the final touches to my look. The included HUD has so many color options (with stripes and solid) as well as the ability to change the color of the string tie. It was a very good bargain for what I received and definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to put together a recreational outfit such as this.

COMPATIBLE With: Adam, Aesthetic, Belleza, Classic (XS-XL), Signature, SLink and TMP male bodies.

BACKDROP[ isuka ] make it stop backdrop

This little hole in the wall would be the perfect place for some bachelor to just hang his hat at the end of the day and get in a good workout before calling it good. It might be a little bit downtrodden (okay it’s actually really downtrodden but it has it’s charms). I really like the detail with this skybox as it is another fine backdrop from ISUKA. If you haven’t check them out yet then what are you waiting for? Their builds help paint masterpieces.

Animosity – Gym Flow @ TMDNEW

Need to get your burn on bro? (Sorry reminded me of a commercial and couldn’t help myself). Animosity has come out with a really cool workout pose set which is bento enabled and comes with two versions of the pull up bar. I really like how this turned out but the only thing I might have changed…well actually more like added would have been to include a salmon ladder like Oliver Queen uses in the Arrow TV series. Now it’s more than unlikely that the brand creator for Animosity will see this but if you do happen to read it…maybe an update? Would be cool to see.
