[#620] Be Alright

Equal10 recently opened their April round and it’s definitely a good place to find some cool clothes and accessories for both men and women. Modulus has a new hair there that I was rather excited about getting my hands on as it is based off of a movie character that I am a huge fan of. There was definitely no way that I was going to let this one get away from my styling.

“Wick” is inspired from the character of John Wick (portrayed by Keanu Reeves in 3 different installments of which the 3rd has not been released). This is the first time that Chucky Hollak has tried his had at having a style which a completely parted middle and I think it’s fantastic when pairing it with a great hairbase. Of course I’m mostly a fan of black hair coloring but I can see myself trying out different tones with this hair.

Much like the last blog, my wardrobe consists of items already in my closet but the recent release collab between Tonktastic and Hermony is still really fresh. I experimented by wearing it without either version of the hood to see if it would work and to me I consider it a success and adds even more versatility to an already great article of clothing.

I also have to mention the new “James” skin by The Skinnery that my drinking buddy Mike is wearing. It’s a CATWA only applier and is intended for the Daniel head but he’s rolling with Victor and it still looks good to me. I think though that I’d be interested in seeing what it might look like without the beard (which is how the skin comes) but regardless it’s a good look.

By now it’s likely been noticed that I haven’t done much in the way of features in the last few posts but don’t worry, it’s not something I’m going to do away with because I feel like that is one of the things that combined with my thoughts on what I’m blogging gives this site it’s uniqueness. I have just not put together any scenes with items from sponsored stores or events but there will be more soon, I promise.

[#535] I’m Getting Drunk On A Plane

When it comes to scenes that I’m doing photos with if I have a theme (or soundtrack as I have referred to before) I like plays on words. If there’s a certain thing in the lyrics that I hone into I find a location or decor that fits. FOXCITY gave me an idea that I’d been brainstorming for a long time but until they released the Flight Club Backdrop at Kustom9 I couldn’t make it a reality.

The overall meaning (or message) of Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk On A Plane” isn’t what I’m trying to convey here but I am looking at it from the viewpoint of maybe someone who is a celebrity that tends to like their beverages a bit too much and on a personal jet you can party like it’s 1999 (or 2018 whatever you might like). Though from the looks at it, it’s a bit more than a party with all the bottles and 6 packs of beer.

I am quite grateful to Aleriah for allowing me to borrow her platform and also the skybox to help make this blog entry possible. Most of the time I am very prideful and don’t want people to help or assist but sometimes you just have to and with the results of this I think it was the right decision. Learning and getting a different point of view from a peer can help you in ways you might not have considered before.

The pose I am using is also from a set by FOXCITY that was a previously release that works with this backdrop but was originally designed for the Limo backdrop they brought out a few months ago. It’s good that it serves a dual purpose as I went through a few different poses before I chose this one for the final scene photo.

One of the things I enjoy about being a blogger for The Men Jail is that it is filled with designers I know and admire but also a few that are new to the scene that I may not have had much interaction with and the shirt I am wearing is one of them. Unleashed is not a brand until recently I was familiar with but this “Nathan” shirt is honestly cool. I wore it a few times before I used it in a picture and played with the different designs the shirt comes with (as there is are two HUDs in the FATPACK, one for plain shirts and also one for graphic designed shirts).

Now that I’ve had the experience of wearing a product by Unleashed, I will certainly be keeping an eye out for future releases from them as this one is a pleasant addition to my wardrobe.

While the above two items are integral to the makeup of this scene, some of the items which are a part of my look as well as the decor also give it that extra something to help tell the story. Without the “RetroNerd Glassesy” by Paparazzi and the “Halloway Ripped Jeans” by Cold-Ash I could have made a scene that was like this but they certainly helped as it was the look I wanted to achieve.

A big help also came from the “Chronos Beer” set from 220ml, which I’ve used in other photos but not in the same capacity as this one and not as epicly either. The detail in this set really blows me away and there are so many options for you to choose from down to empty cases to half empty bottles…and there’s even a lime (as well as a bottle with a lime wedge).

I think after this flight my virtual self will probably want to lay off the Chronos for a bit and probably sleep a day or so. That will give me time to plot out my next idea for this blog. Looks like it’s time for me to wrap this up and put this post to bed and get you to the really good part…the credits. I had a blast with this and until our paths cross again it’s onto the next conversation…

After taking a small breather from shopping, I managed to come up with scene that features items from the Man Cave Event as well as Men Only Monthly. I found everything I needed at those two places to come up with an idea to set to the song “Seein’ Red” by Unwritten Law.

I also have an item from this past weeks Fifty Linden Friday, the “Renegade” hair from Lock & Tuft. It seems lately there is a trend of sweeping mid-length hair hanging off to one side of the head or another and Lock & Tuft have managed to capitalize on it. Of course with it being a bargain it caught my attention but I think even at a regular price it’s worth giving some attention to.

The “Ocean Eyes” by GO&SEE are something to behold. The variations of blue and green hues in the 10 colors offered really do depict the differnt types of water you might find in a large body such as an ocean. For those of you with Catwa eyes this truly is a must. Gazing into these could be very dangerous if not mesmerizing. You can find these right now at Men Only Monthly until the 15th of July.

Gabriel is offering an outfit that consists of a jacket and slacks at ManCave. The “Denim Zip” Jacket is an open basic styled jacket that fits nicely but I find that what would make it better is an added shirt with a texture HUD to give a little more variety. While it’s fun to walk around without a shirt like you don’t have a care in the world, it limits the amount of places you might want to wear it to. While I am wearing this is Light Gray, you also have 3 other color options to choose from.

Coordinating with the jacket are the “Cotton Pants” which are your standard but comfortable casual slacks. Great for going out for a night on the town or getting together with colleagues. There are three colors to choose from (Black, Sand, and White). Both items from Gabriel come with sizes for Belleza, Signature, SLink, and TMP mesh bodies and can be purchased in FATPACKS as well for those that want to mix and match their styles.

Completing my casual look are the “Hayan Slip On” shoes from [Z O O M]. These laceless loafer type shoes are a great addition to your wardrobe. They are stylish and come with a HUD that allows you to color change the different parts of the shoe for that extra customization that if you are like me, you are going to love. I’m wearing the Signature version but also included are a SLink version as well as Unrigged for those of you with different mesh body choices.

One of my fave items I picked up at Man Cave is the “Bathroom Pub Outside” backdrop by 220mL. It is a product by a brand that I’ve seen nothing but quality out of and I’ve used others and have nothing but good things to say. The textures and build give you that feeling as if you are actually standing outside the bathroom at a pub and in the case of this scene, waiting to catch someone in the act of doing something dubious. Props like this have somewhat changed my mind on using them compared to visiting a sim with pre-built settings. I’m becoming a photographer that is split 50/50 on this topic because of well made items like this.
