In over 700 blog posts I’ve never deviated from picking song titles or verses for the titles of the entries. It may seem like I’ve done that now but I’m considering it a hybrid because not only is it a song but it also uses sound bytes of Tyler Durden from “Fight Club”. At least this way I don’t actually disrupt the streak I have going while still being able to tie in the song of choice with the theme of the post which is the previously mentioned book turned cult classic movie.

XTC Poses has a really cool prop/pose set at Pose Fair called you guessed it “Fight Club.” I thought with the final days of the event, I would go out with a bit of a bang and go out kicking (sort of). Sets like this are something I like to do as it depicts action. There is a mixture of Boxing and MMA poses within the set so anyone who likes to take photos in that genre this is right up your alley (or even wheelhouse).

Just in case you missed it at the beginning of the post, Pose Fair is only open for a few more days and if you haven’t been there yet because it was crowded and the sim was full. Now is your chance before other last minute stragglers who had to wait before going back make it hard to get in again. Treat yourself with the gift of poses for your picture taking.

There are 4 more days left to visit this round of Pose Fair. You’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t get there and that’s if you are a photo enthusiast on the grid. I have had a blast with the photos I have taken so far and it has really helped me to start finding myself creativity. I don’t know how long it will last essentially but as I like to say, I’m just going to ride the wave while it lasts.

With this go round of Pose Fair I’ve found a lot of new creators beyond the staples we already know and love. Vagary is not one I was familiar with until now but looking at the poses from the “Im The One” set, I like what I was able to put together visually with it. I also managed to take this photo with Firestorm instead of using Black Dragon as I normally do. I can say that I am pleasantly surprised with it the turnout

There is only week week left of Pose Fair and if you haven’t paid the event a visit my only question is why not? With all the male and female poses combined with couples, friends and other miscellaneous poses (not to forget backdrops!) Even the amateur photographer who does it for fun can find great new things to use to make their creative works stellar.

One of Gravity Poses latest sets called “Walk 6-10” is for single males and as the name suggests are walking inspired. I value poses that showcase action or movement and even though I like stationary expression, there is something more about telling a story about possibly getting from A to B. To be able to make the viewer think “Where was he coming from and where’s he going next?” The “Wasteland Scene” by Synnergy helps tell that story as well as it looks like our protagonist (or antagonist) is in a future where everything is desolate.

The vehicle you see as part of the scenery is a group gift by 777 Motors called the “Pimpmobile”. While the name itself gives me a bit of the giggles, I really think for the group price which is under 10 lindens is a good value. Even if you don’t want to drive it around you can use it just like I did. Once again I am also wearing clothing from Cold-Ash including one of their most recent releases the “LEON Leather Jacket” which gives the option of a shirt or hoodie option. Super stylish and a must have for leather jacket aficionados.

Couples poses can have different categories and meanings. It isn’t just for the relationship and romantic variety of photography that it usually gets associated with. They can also be considered action shots or even friends and family pics depending on the pose itself. CuCa Poses mixes a bit of action and romance with the “Ride Or Die” poses sets currently available at Pose Fair. This is the first pose set in the group and as you can see there could be action taking place before or after the scene I put together. There is even a slight hint of romance there and has a movie quality about it.

I’m also excited that Cold-Ash released two new items at the beginning of this month. The “Hawthorne Shirt (Plaid Pack)” is a part of the March round of The Men’s Department. Being that I am a sucker for button down flannel shirts this really was a must for my closet. To go along with it is the “MILES Casual Chino Pants” which is available at the Cold-Ash store. These are great for when you aren’t feeling jeans but won’t be going anywhere that requires dress pants. Anyone that is a fan of Cold-Ash will definitely want to grab these up.

Sometimes the best way to accomplish a photo session is to not try and overthink things. I can say with certainty that I did that with this post. I rounded up some really great items from Pose Fair and got started. You’ll also find that I kept my wardrobe simple and that is thanks in part to the latest group gift by Kalback. The “Casual Boxers” come in just about every basic color you can think of (Black, Blue, Orange, Red and White with a few others I won’t spoil for you).

There is a double dose of KOPFKINO as well with the Passage Backdrop in white (also available in black) and the Jared pose pack. The range of poses in this go from “come hither” to “what did I just do?” The backdrop is a great way to create a scene and even could be spruced up with some furniture but as I said at the beginning I wanted to keep this basic and simple. Think of this as maybe a belated Valentine’s Day pic perhaps?

Pose Fair is underway and like past rounds there are a lot of great and talented pose creators involved. I’m always pleasantly surprised when a new creator comes around and can knock my virtual socks off. With a dual threat in this post, I am using both the “Blood Church Backdrop” and the “I AM THE WAY” pose set from [Struts]

These two combined to give me a really good idea of what I wanted to do right off of the bat. The setting I created has the idea that the person in the photo is an occult leader and he’s preaching to his congregation. Though in this case the congregation is in his head (as there is no one there but him). The pose set as a whole has some very good poses that can be used for those types of photos. If anyone dares to pick up those set, I’d love to see what can be done with it.

I can’t believe that it’s been almost 4 months since I last posted a new entry. The holidays came and went and a new year began. In what I had hoped would be a better change, I found that it all stayed the same and my creativity hasn’t been quite where I want it to be. I’ve been considering where the road will take me in 2021 and if I should completely retire from blogging and just take pics for the fun of it or keep doing what I’ve been doing. It is a lot to consider and I still have some time to figure it out.

For now though I’m going to concentrate my energies on the latest round of Pose Fair which is back again with the best pose and prop makers on the grid all housed in one mega event. I’m starting with a creator I am familiar with from past rounds in the form of Beras Poses. I chose to use the Static Sitting pack that will be available starting on March 7th, 2021.

I hope that everyone had a really excellent Thanksgiving and found some great deals in both the real world and virtual world. I know that I’ve been relatively quiet for a long time but I am still kind of coming to grips with where I want to go virtually. Blogging still has a place in my heart but I am feeling like it isn’t as big in it as it once was. Have I given up completely? No, not by a long shot. Though I think it is just going to be something where I post maybe more than I have been but not as much as I used to before I took a break.

Lapointe & Bastchild are one of many stores with great discounts on products for their group members. I really find that I like this SwearTECH EV085 which has many options including the style I’m wearing which in a way reminds me a bit of Chance the Rapper with the number 3 in it. This week is going to be rather trying as the grid will be going through a series of maintenance which is happening through the 16th. I’m hoping that I can wade through all the interruptions and nuisances to continue coverage of Pose Fair as I am doing so in this entry. I’ve done a bit of everything so far with some male poses, a fun couples pose and I’m doing another one here. Perhaps I may even do something I’ve not attempted a whole lot but I don’t want to spill any details just in case that I’m unable to get it to work.

Ebano Poses is certainly a new store to me but being a part of the Pose Fair is a great way to add to an existing fan base. This couples pose prop is appropriately titled “Our Moments” because it’s a very nice little piece with some stones as well as flowers to make an existing scene even better, as I have by taking it at the Candlewood sim.

With five different couples poses embedded into the prop, creating that special moment with you and that special person is as easy as it can be. I had a hard time deciding on which pose to use but I think that the right choice was made for a well thought out finished photo.

As a blogger for Lapointe & Bastchild I’ve been given the opportunity to blog some excellent items and I’ve added to my repertoire now that I’m able to do female featured items. This is the first of likely many items I will blog for them as they do tend to create more items for the ladies as it is a larger market and more in demand but that’s okay! I’m going to run with being able to show off all the great things this store makes and maybe in turn help some of the male readers find things for their person or female readers have something to gain from it as well.

Uber is where the Olivia Dress Set has made its debut and holy heck there are a lot of options with the Fatpack which is what I’m featuring. The dress can be worn in whole but it also comes with the top and skirt as separate pieces. The HUD that comes with it allows you to style from floral patterns to light and dark solid colors (mixing and matching is possible as well.

With the choice of scenery the floral option looked really great and I felt like there was no other need to test any other colors.

Perhaps if I’m confident enough I may even do two blogs with female centric items back to back as it seems as if those are never in short supply and I’m feeling pretty creative in that area right now. I’m not going to rule anything out because when an idea strikes it is best not to stifle it (I know that it could easily lead to a block and I’m definitely not interested in that).

The only other item that’s recent in both of the avatar looks is the Truth VIP Hair that Brenna was wearing in our Car Wash blog, I believe that it is still available but you may want to hurry so that you don’t miss out on it because it’s a pretty neat style. I’m not even going to lie that when it comes to women’s hair their is just so much more out there and gives bloggers a lot to work with. Hopefully more and more designers other than the top tier usual suspects (Lock&Tuft, Modulus and Vango) will step up for us guys too.

As I am writing this it is Friday (depending on when it gets finished it still might be or more than likely will be Saturday) and I did this little collab with Brenna, my brother Lucky, and Stef Giano (the latter two are also both excellent bloggers so click their name to get more about them!) For me this is almost a throwback photo for me as I started my journey in the virtual world as a virtual teenager. Brenna and I both attended the same school, which is where we met and the rest is just history.

When we were all discussing what kind of photo we wanted to do (several more ideas were brainstormed which may see the light of day sometime in the future) and Lucky came across the ad for the “Did You Miss Class Today?” gacha set from K&S Poses. It’s definitely something I consider to be an interesting set complete with a RARE skybox that has the chalkboard, desks and a bunch of strewn papers around. I gave Lucky and I the opportunity to play a jock and cool kid and the gals got to be school girl’s to create what I think is an great scene.

Lucky himself has already posted his version of it in the blog titled, “Love The Dumb Things We Do When We’re Young” and I am pretty sure that Stef is working on her own version of it as well but at this moment I’m unsure if mine will see the light before hers but we’ll see right?

Most of my look is compromised of things I already had laying around accept for the “Bradley” hair by Vango from Men Only Monthly. It’s more of a shorter style but I thought it worked as most of the jocks when I was in high school for real wore that type of hairstyle so it definitely fits the overall feel of what I was trying to accomplish with my part of this photo.

This may have been a team project but it didn’t mean that I wasn’t going to do a little bit of something on my own and get an angle with just Brenna and I closer up so that it could go in a special portfolio that I keep of all the pictures we take together. There may not be a lot of them so far but it continues to grow and I know that there will be even more as time goes on and the best ones get brought in world and put into photo frames and placed on the wall as should all pictures that hold special meaning.

My intentions for this blog is for it not to be super long considering that there aren’t any sponsored items in the post and overall this was mean to be just something fun to do between the four of us. That is one of the things that I’m going to try and focus on more during event down times which for me right now is mostly until the next big one in May which is the annual Pose Fair with Vintage Fair happening shortly after that so I’m going to enjoy a bit of a breather now before the heat turns up.

On that note I’m going to turn this over to the credits and give a big shout out one more time to Brenna, Lucky and Stef for all making this a super fun thing to do and I look forward to more of them to come. Most of my blog writing is more of an editorial style so this was kind of a different stretch and may not even be half as entertaining but this time I’m letting the visuals do the work more than the words.
