[#587] The Devil’s In The Next Room

Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up
Pick up the phone
You said it yourself you’re scared of being alone
You said it yourself that you can crack the code
But the static you hear automatically keeps you exposed on your own

Shinedown, ♫Devil

Not many television shows have had the longevity that Supernatural has had for the last 14 years. It is one of my favorite shows and that fact they can still keep my attention this long tells me that they are doing something right. I’ve started some shows in the past that I never ended up finishing (The Vampire Diaries which I was gladly able to pick back up on Netflix). The adventures that the brothers Winchester go on are very exciting no matter what they or their acquintances (friends and family as well) get into.

I have done several posts displaying my fandom for the show from the perspectives of Sam & Dean as well as done on where I had a friend play Castiel. However, not once did I ever think about doing something that pays homage to one of the many antagonists on the show: the demons. During my post processing I had an issue where the black smoke I wanted coming out of the meat suit (the vessel the demon is hiding out in as referenced by the show). It was too dark so I decided to go with red, which man of the higher ups in the demon world have when “smoking out” of a vessel. Notably Crowley and I believe Lucifer himself have displayed the crimson version to my knowledge. There have probably been others but having been on the air for 14 seasons (and rewatching them from the beginning would take forever) it is easy to forget things.

Pose Fair ends tonight and I am hoping this is the equivalent of going out with a bang. I’ve enjoyed this tremendously and am likely going to take a day or so break from posting to recharge (maybe) before I start to see things from the February special edition for Valentine’s goes into effect. I would like to thank Ruby and Jason (as well as everyone else behind the scenes) for creating such an awesome environment to blog for. It is an honor to have been chosen by you for this event and I cannot express how much it means to me.

Getting down to it my last pose is from CORPUS Poses and is easily enough called “Him”. It is a varied set of standing and a sitting pose and one of them happened to be one where I am looking up which was perfect to get in just the right angle where I could simulate a demon vacating my avatar with a little bit of help from the LeLutka face hud (the facial expressions are not a part of the pose just to let you know). There are five poses to this set in all and they are all really usable in just about any situation you can think of.

To take a catchphrase from another show “TREAT YOSELF” and stop by the Pose Fair one more time or for the first time before it ends tonight. Your photography will thank you for it and that is something I can genuinely guarantee.

Corpus Poses – Him Pose Set

  • Bento enabled pose (bento viewer needed)
  • 5 different poses to choose from
  • Static poses for you to put in your own poseballs or pose stands
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19 (Ends tonight so hurry!!!!)

For this blogs style, I decided on casual while combining and older release with a brand new one. My shirt comes from Deadwool and is called “Lorenzo”; it is a tucked in button down with shirt underneath. It’s one of those pieces of clothing I like to revisit and it just happens to pair up well with the “Roll Up Pants” by Native Urban which just hit the racks  at Uber a few days ago.

Gentleman if you like dress up style pants with a bit of a roll up cuff at the bottom then these are definitely your new jam. While single color options can be nice I can only stress how much of a value it is to get the complete FATPACK and give yourself many options to allow for pairing it with about any of the shirts in your virtual closets. To be able to change parts of it such as the belt, the pants and even the slight little bit of boxer shorts poking out I can’t find a better reason not to go all in.

Native Urban – Roll Up Pants

  • Original mesh
  • Single options sold seprately
  • FATPACK includes HUD to change 7 parts (14 colors available)
  • Fitted for Signature (Gianni) and Maitreya (Lara) for the ladies
  • Currently exclusive to Uber until 02/23/19

On that note I think it is time to finish this up with giving you all the style information that pertains to this look and of course if there is something here that you see that you are interested in that is not listed then first check my Credits page which lists what head, skin, and body that I am presently wearing on a consistent basis. If it is anything else then get a hold of me through social media or by email which is on my about page.

Time to go celebrate all the creativity I’ve had with the Pose Fair and maybe relax with some games and time with great people. I will catch everyone again hopefully very soon but until then be well and start a conversation and keep it going.

Best regards,

B

[#583] I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Clock strikes upon the hour
And the sun begins to fade
Still enough time to figure out
How to chase my blues away

Bootstraps, ♫I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Originally Performed By Whitney Houston

One of the things that excites me about Pose Fair is all the ideas that come from the items official bloggers receive to help promote the stores and the event itself. I am taking full advantage of this by doing something fun with the Vol. 1 Male and Female Dance Poses by CuCa Poses. From the exact moment the ad was released I had a solid idea cemented in my head.

It is an added bonus that “All Night Long Bacdrops” by illuZion are both gifts to visitors to Pose Fair. The poses and the backdrop that I am using in black (pink is also available) work hand in hand to provide a great scene for club life. My days of going to clubs have long since past (though the desire to go to them when I could was fairly low) but at least it is much different in the virtual world.

My first thought going into using these poses was that I wanted to showcase both the male and female ones and gives me a reason to include Brenna. She has a great style and could easily be a blogger if she wanted to be but I respect that it is not her thing; at least I can ask her to pose for me and she does it without hesitation and offers inspiration that is valuable.

Each of these sets has 6 poses with an added bonus pose for purchasers of the FATPACKS with mirror versions included also. I had fun going through the sets to choose the two best poses for Brenna and I to ensure that our motions look as fluid as possible.

CuCa Poses – Male Dances Vol. 1 / Female Dances Vol. 1

  • Bento enabled poses (bento viewer needed for proper use)
  • Pose Stand and Static Poses in each pack.
  • Single poses sold individually as well as in a FATPACK option
  • 6+1 Exclusive FATPACK Poses (Mirrors included)
  • Vol. 2 sets are also available
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19

Another sure thing when I began planning this scene is I knew what song would be the theme for it but I decided to go with a twist. “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” was the only true choice that I could go with and it’s one of the songs that put Whitney Houston on the map but I decided to use the cover version by Bootstraps which pays tribute to the original in an amazing way.

Either version would have been great to use but going with the more recent version was easier to decide on because everyone knows Whitney’s original version and I wanted to share with readers the cover because I am a fan of Bootstraps and if others find his work through me and enjoy it then it puts a smile onto my face.

There are very few things that are better than discovering new music.

For the ladies who love gachas (and I can safely say that many as well as us fellas do) there is the {Date Night} dress set from Vanilla Bae. If you are not familiar with this store and it would surprise me if there was someone who didn’t, they offer clothing that through scripting can be removed to show what I would politely refer to as unmentionables. They do offer unscripted versions for women that are not into that kind of attire. This set includes several versions of the Corset Dress which Brenna is wearing the short version (there is a much longer one with a slit along the side). The two RARE versions are both of the dresses in the adult version in all the colors offered, however, they are called Lootbox 1 and 2 because of the event they are in (which is called LOOTBOX).

On that note I think I have left you with enough information on this blog entry and look forward to the next few as I start to wind down my coverage for Pose Fair. This has been a very productive month for myself and the blog and if recent developments pan out (vague I know) there will be even more exciting things to share with all of you.

Keep your heads up and also the conversation (topic doesn’t matter!) It has been my honor and I will be back again very soon with another installment.

All the best,

B

[#555] Calling You

And I feel like I can fly when I stand next to you
So while I’m on this phone
A hundred miles from home
I’ll take the words you gave me and send them back to you

Blue October, ♫Calling You

As I said in the last blog I would likely not be posting another winter themed pic but that almost became a misspoken truth as I was wandering around and found a spot or two that I could have done something with but I don’t want to exhaust that well too quickly (least of all not in December already). I’ve once again found a nice spot within the I Am (SL) Amsterdam sim and got to make friends with a kitty (well of course logically that didn’t happen) and came away with a great pair of photos to put into this blog post.

I was a bit worried that with my outfit I wouldn’t be able to come up with a song to work as the soundtrack but with how everything work out I decided on “Calling You” by Blue October for two reasons: the first being that I felt my facial look was a tad like Justin Furstenfeld and the second was the words of the song have a meaning to me personally. I can see how it applies to the way I feel about my special someone and when your gut tells you to go on something you do it.

Man Cave ends tonight and I have a few items from the event that I think are really great and worth checking out before they head to their respective brands main store locations.

I’ll start out with the “Chase Hair” by Modulus not only because they are one of my brands but also most of the time I like to start from top to bottom when writing about products. This is a mid length release with some locks cascading in the front of the face (and there are left and right versions included to choose the best side to photograph from or the best way to make it realistic). I thought this really went well with the kind of grunge look I was going for (and I go to this style more often then not).

Modulus Chase Hair features:

  • 100% original nex-gen alpha mesh
  • Mirrored left or right versions
  • 5 color HUD options + integrated tinting
  • Fatpack with all 40 colors also available
  • Exclusively @ Man Cave until December 9th

The other item from the event is the “Jersey” shirt collaboration from TonkTastic and Hermony. You’ll recall that the first batch of designs were a part of the November round of The Men’s Department which I previously blogged but for the Man Cave a new crop of fun designs have been added which can be put together by the HUD that comes with any of the shirts packs.

I am wearing the Broccozilla shirt because it tickled my funny bone and clearly was a fun design (and also reminded me a little of Groot from Guardians Of The Galaxy). I’ve said plenty of times before that when these two brands get together that magic happens and that is true because of all the releases that I currently own from them I find a way to put them into later blog entries or just wear them when I’m not in blog mode.

TonkTastic and Hermony Jersey Shirt (Man Cave) features:

  • Original mesh
  • 24 more designs to add to the original set of shirts
  • Fitted sizes for Aesthetic, Belleza (Jake), Signature (Geralt & Gianni), SLink Physiqe and TMP male bodies
  • Exclusively @ Man Cave until December 9th

It feels like a better time than any to get this blog posted so that anyone who wants to sneak into the Man Cave event before it closes can do so and take a look at some really great items that are for sure worth being brought into a respective wardrobe and also homes (for those decor items that are must haves). A new week has started which means that it is time for me to start thinking about what to do next for this site.

Also I’m still trying to figure out how to get better at ending blogs but until then I will just have to suck it up with the realization that it isn’t a strong suit of mine. Hopefully this week is filled with great events, shopping and good times across the grid and I will be back again soon with the next conversation.

[#551] Somebody To Love

I get down (down) on my knees (knees)
And I start to pray (praise the Lord)
‘Til the tears run down from my eyes
Lord, somebody, somebody (please)
Can anybody find me somebody to love?

Queen, ♫Somebody To Love

Normally I do not rush to get posts done because I’m pretty good about things but life has been a bit hectic for me lately so I’m hustling to get this out with today being the last active day for the November round of The Men Jail. This was a pretty good round and I found myself having trouble picking things to blog and putting together ideas but I was inspired by a pose and prop set called “Rhapsody” by Urban Mind inspired by the legendary frontman of Queen, Freddy Mercury.

It was only fitting that I chose a song by Queen as the soundtrack to the post as being the fan of music as I am, this band has in many ways inspired a lot of the other musicians that I listen to as well today. They made some of the songs that will live on forever in our hearts and minds and with a unique a voice as anyone, Freddy is in a special class of vocalist which very few are a part of.

The pose set comes with two hand held microphones for some of the poses and a mic with a stand for the rest of the poses. It was really a great thought to use the “Classic Stage” by Spot On to show myself belting out one of Queen’s most awesome songs. I probably did an encore more than likely after I finished because their catalogue is so vast it would be terrible not to.

Urban Mind Rhapsody Pose & Prop Set features:

  • Bento enabled poses (Bento viewer needed to use properly)
  • 3 mesh microphones (two hand-held and one with stand)
  • 6 different poses inspired by Freddy Mercury
  • Exclusively @ The Men Jail until November 28th (Hurry!)

I intended for this post to be a short one and besides the microphone I wanted to make sure I blogged the “Slender Suspenders Outfit” by HotDog. To me it is a unique type of outfit that you don’t really see all that often and has a vintage type feel to it which I thought paired up well with vintage rock. The outfit is kind of like a mini fatpack because you can use the 3 included HUDs to change the suspenders, shirt, and also the pants which I bought in the “Tartan” design as I love that kind of pattern.

With this outfit it was hard to choose what color combinations I wanted so I took several shots with different colors and thought what I chose worked best with the background and lighting. HotDog definitely gets props for coming up with a cool outfit concept as well as giving several different style types (there are two others besides the Tartan one) all with HUDs giving the ability to change the look a bunch of different ways.

HotDog Slender Suspenders Outfit (Tartan) features:

  • Original mesh
  • Includes Suspenders, Shirt and Pants
  • 3 HUDs included for each piece to change colors
  • Fits Belleza, Signature, and SLink Physique male bodies

November is only a few days away from being done for 2018 and December will come in with all new products from great events that I visit, am a part of, or my brand partners are involved in. I can’t wait to pair up things new and recent as I’ve been trying to do the last month or two and it seems like it has worked out for me.

After doing this post I certainly want to go see the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” but probably will not get a chance to until it makes its way onto blu-ray but that is okay as well because then I can just enjoy it at home at my own leisure with a bowl of popcorn and a beverage of my choosing. Sometimes that is the best way to go with the price of going to the movies being more and more all the time.

That’s all I have for this posting but check back again for more exciting fashion and accessories from the grid; it’s been a pleasure but I’m off in search of the next conversation.

[#545] No Recess

Won’t you believe it
It’s just my luck…

Nirvana, ♫School

I am noticing now that with streamlining how much I feature in blogs has not only helped keep my thoughts fresh but my creativity on level where I expect it should be at. Another thing that I have also been doing is finishing posts later in the evening and setting them to post the next day and all I have to do is finish promoting them to social media (which has also helped).

Many of the items in this blog are carry overs from things I’ve purchased from events that have long been over (though none of them are from brands I represent) along with one new item that is and can be found currently at Uber.

Small bit of insight into creating this idea is I have done a few scenes that have pertained to high school or school in general but this time I turned it up just one more notch and with the help of “School” by Nirvana which is one of their songs before they hit the big time (it is on their first album “Bleach”) with simple lyrics but it hits the point.

By the time you reach high school and the start to feel some of the pressures of becoming an adult you realize the days of having recess and fun times are behind you. Then that time hits after you’ve graduated and you’re an adult and see social interactions between people and they fail to act their age and makes you feel like you’re back in high school.

In my school days I wasn’t popular or a sports hero of any kind I stayed under the radar and was friendly with just about anyone but didn’t overstep in circles I didn’t belong in (nor did I want to belong in a specific group). For this look however I found myself wearing the “Ethan College Jacket” by ExalteD and even though it has college in its title it fits more with the high school setting as it is essentially a letterman’s jacket. The jacket only comes in sizes for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) but the advice I would give (which I rarely ever take) is to grab a demo before purchase just to be on the safe side.

Then I threw on the quickest pair of jeans that I had access too as that is the standard high school wardrobe. The Deadwool “Broberry” jeans that I have the washed pack version of works in a pinch just about every time which leads me to the final piece of the outfit puzzle….

Native Urban’s most recent sneaker release “Another 1” is a great low-top sneaker and reminiscent to a classic shoe from a brand I’m not going to speak the name of for likely legal purposes (and because it isn’t a 100% facsimile). The custom options in the fatpack are more than well worth it when you break down how many different combinations you can manage with it as well as it would offset the cost of more than one single pair if that was in consideration.

Usually I do not keep the tag visible in my photos but for fun I thought it would be something different to give a better look at an option I don’t normally show. The fact that it can be colored differently as well just raises the cool factor for virtual sneakerheads out there (I consider myself one of those but that’s not anything new).

Native Urban Another 1 Sneaker features:

  • Original mesh
  • Unisex
  • 14 customizable parts with 17 colors (FATPACK Only)
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni)
  • Exclusively @ Uber until November 23rd

Back in March there was an event honoring the anniversary of The Breakfast Club movie (I blogged a few items from it that I liked) but I had bought this Classroom set from Anxiety and I hadn’t found a purpose for it yet and while the original idea that I had for it was probably a little bit better I think that how I put this scene together works for the mood that I was after.

There were a lot more accessories from this set I could have (and should have) put out but I didn’t want to over clutter but I’m hearing some of my decor blogger friends scolding me a little in my mind which makes me laugh a little bit considering decor is not my world and I certainly couldn’t do it on the level many of my fellow bloggers can; I’ll stick to what I know I excel at but maybe one day way down the road I can give it a more serious try.

After my last post I realize that one of things I need to work on more is how to sign off on a blog post as I am confident mostly about how I start and the flow of things throughout the middle go well but when I get to the end I just feel that what comes out is lacking. It’s probably something I should discuss a little bit in detail with those closest with me to see if there is an easier solution because right now it is not a strong suit.

Coming up in the next blog (subject to change of course) I think I’m going to work with something from The Men’s Jail and I have a feeling it could go over well but we’ll see.

I‘m going to sign off on this post and I will be back soon for another conversation.

[#543] Nutshell

We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time

Alice In Chains, ♫Nutshell♫

October as a whole was definitely a crazy month with lots of different looks and blogs and by the end it felt like I was dragging a little bit so…after a few days of relaxation I’m back at it again and staring the month fresh. I’m not entirely sure what prompted me to put together the scene I did but I think that sometimes we all have this moment of solitude and was thinking about the song “Nutshell” by Alice In Chain, which became the soundtrack to the blog. I felt that when I was done with the scene that it fit the vibe of a beautiful yet haunting song.

As a blogger there are different levels of recognition some on a higher plane then others but regardless are still visible to a large group of people. Those bloggers who write along with their photos as I do sometimes bare more of themselves in their work and even though we are doing it the privacy that most people have is lessened.

While some might crave exposure (I can’t speak for anyone) others might feel like their lives are on display in a way they never thought it would be and that is how our lives are and there is always going to be an bump in the road or adversity that we must face and it is how we handle it that makes or breaks us.

November is now here and in a few days The Men Jail event is going to return with a brand new build with the same dedication to bring guys across the grid the best in fashion, decor, avatar accessories and poses. As I start to become a veteran of the event (being a part of the blogging team now for about 9 months and enjoying every part of it.

One thing I’ve noticed about the event is that it just keeps getting better and better which is what any event coordinator wants as well as the ability to keep bringing in well known designers as well as being able to bring more attention to the smaller ones to help them grow and become more popular and successful.

Cheerno is well known for skins, body parts (such as hair and ears) but now has chosen to strictly for the time being provide fashion and at this months round of The Men Jail they have a really fantastic turtleneck for sale. There are two color packs available for that have different colors in each HUD to change and I am using version I, though there are some similar colors in both. There is also a integrated color picker included in each HUD so that you can select your own color.

CHEERNO Zeb Turtleneck I features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • HUD with 6 changeable colors
  • Fitted sizes for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni)
  • Exclusively available @ The Men Jail starting Nov. 08th!

I‘ve paired it with one of the washed versions of the”Broberry” jeans by Deadwool that I haven’t blogged before but with the lighting there isn’t really much difference in it but they work well with the turtlenck and the look has been given approval so I know that I did a good job with it. For my shoes I am wearing the “Adversity Sneakers” from DossiEr that were a part of a previous round of the Hipster Men’s Event but I had to get a redelivery because my inventory seemed to do that eating thing which is why I didn’t blog them sooner…2nd world problems I tell you!

To try and make the posts a little shorter and maybe be able to post more I’m going to focus on at least one to two new products and tell you about them as I have been and not try to cram so much into a post because even to me they tend to feel a little long so I’m going to try to streamline them a bit as best as I can from now on.

I’m going to end this post with the good stuff ie… credits and until next time, it’s onto the next conversation…

[#533] Love Bites

Love bites, love bleeds
It’s bringin’ me to my knees
Love lives, love dies
It’s no surprise

Def Leppard, ♫Love Bites

For the last couple years in October and sometimes other months too (but more importantly October) I do a scene where I am a vampire. These are some of my favorite works because of how much I enjoy the lore of vampires. The best part about it is each story or world that is created with them in it has different sets of rules in which a vampire lives and the worst part is in some they sparkle (sorry Twilight fans).

There is likely not a vampire movie or show that I haven’t seen (yes even Twilight sadly) and if I haven’t seen it then I make sure that I do just so that I can see how things are represented. I might even consider myself a vampire snob when it comes to how they are portrayed and what traits they have where it comes to things like garlic, holy water etc…

At the Pose Fair this year, Extra has 4 different pose sets (Two single and two couples) that are a part of a series called “Love Bites”. It is for that reason I chose to theme my scene around the classic song of the same name by 80’s/90’s legends Def Leppard. Before I start sidetracking the four sets are named “Come Into The Night”, “Dark Desires” (which is featured in this blog), “Do Not Disturb” and “Midnight Snack”. These poses are really creative and for any fan of vampires like me any one of these sets will really get your undead juices flowing.

Extra Dark Desires Pose features:

  • Bento enabled pose (Bento viewere required for proper use)
  • Includes coffin prop
  • Exclusive @ Pose Fair until October 31st (Halloween!)

One of my favorite vampire novels of all time is “Interview With The Vampire” and while the film adaptation was slightly over the top (and I mean that Tom Cruise and his ruffled shirt was). I thought that since SpectacledChic released a facsimile of his shirt from the movie and have named it “Lestat” after one of the two main characters in the book/film.

It was hard to decide what color to choose as there is the original white from the film but the red and black colors were very inviting but I decided to stick with the cannon and honor the film this way. I like how my look came together and it wasn’t what I originally put together and I will get to that in a moment but first some details about this shirt.

SpectacledChic Lestat Blouse features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • 6 colors to choose from
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) male bodies
  • Exclusively @ Salem until October 31st! (Halloween!)

As I wrote about a moment ago my original look was slightly different than what you see now. The funny story behind it is that I ran out to an event to look at something that I thought might make my look better when out of the corner of my eye I saw a gentleman with almost the same exact look as I did (minus skin and maybe pants/shoes) and I liked the shirt too much to change that I decided to go with a different hair because at least that I knew that I didn’t have the look of someone else.

It is a good thing that recently Taketomi Club (which is a combination of both the Burley and Taketomi brands) released a new male hair called “Dorian” and if you are not familiar with the Taketomi Club I am more then happy to explain. There is a group fee to join (originally it was free but due to demand and many other factors the policy changed) but being a member of this group allows you to go to the Club room on the Designer Drive sim and there are Fatpacks of hair from each brand released at random with a starting price of 50 Lindens a pack and after two weeks the price goes up to 450 which is still a good bargain if you miss a release during it’s initial window.

With “Dorian” you get the entire color range and there are so many color HUDs to work with it’s mind blowing and you also get a styler HUD which allows you to choose which side you want your hair combed to. I felt this was too good of a deal to pass up and tell everyone about that might not know or may have forgotten about it.

Burley Dorian Hair FatPack features:

  • 100% original mesh (materials and regular version)
  • Multistyler HUD
  • 15 color HUDs included (240 colors total WOW!)
  • Available now for a limited time for 50L @ Taketomi Club

Before I wrap all this up I want to give a few honorable mentions for things that I’m not featuring due to being previous releases that are older than a month or stuff I’ve had for a while and just haven’t blogged. I’ll start with the CATWA Add-On teeth which helped make becoming a vampire for this photo much easier (and also made me look cooler) as well as the Le Form “Bloody Drops” applier which I found on the Marketplace (which is a lot of time a crap shoot trying to find exactly what you want).

This was a lot of fun for me to be able to play in the world of the creatures of the night and I likely will not do so again until next year (maybe make it a tradition like some of the others I have with the blog site?) Time for me to get back to the brainstorm board and figure out what’s next on my list of “to do’s”. Until our paths cross again, be well and treat others as you yourself want to be treated.

As for me it’s on to the next conversation…

[#492] There’s A Light Up Ahead

Take this heart of darkness
I give it up
and all the emptiness
you fill it up
The times that I feel nothing
you bring enough
So I can live for something
You lift me up!

Further Seems Forever, ♫Light Up Ahead

June is now upon us and it seems like time sure does fly because it just feels like the year just started but we’re already halfway through it. The start of a new month means the restocked events that we love like FaMESHed, The Men’s Department, and of course for those of you Gachapon addicts…THE ARCADE! I hope that while I’m working to get caught up with things that I’ll have items from all these events so that you can get a taste of them from my perspective.

It’s been a while since I’ve covered anything from the Shiny Shabby event so I find myself in luck that my good people at Modulus have released a new hair at the event that honestly has me super excited. It seems a bit suspect that I’m totally gaga over a product by a brand that I’m a blogger for but if you know anything about me then you know that I blog for brands that I love and believe in and Modulus is one of those at the top and I’ve been a blogger for them from just about the beginning and it can easily be verified with little effort.

Okay! The details about this latest Modulus release from Shiny Shabby…the hair is named “Godfrey” and what makes this different from most of the releases is that you really do not need a hairbase for this. It is a parted hair with the side part built right into it without needing a hairbase as I just mentioned. Sometimes I have to resize hair to fit and make it look like it should on my head but I had to do very little with this and it’s made the “Godfrey” one of my top 5 faves of the hair releases in the last 6 months or so since Modulus started releasing products in the Alpha hair line.

40 different color options to choose from broken down into 5 different color HUDs all with an integrated color picker to add an extra bit of flavor in a sense. Of course you can purchase the packs separately or you can get all of them in a FATPACK for extra savings and then not worry about that moment when you wish you had bought more than one pack because you’re feeling like a change. I honestly think this hairstyle is old school cool and a bit vintage as well as unique because you don’t see anything like it out on the grid (but I have a feeling that it is going to trend but you saw it from Modulus first!)

Shiny Shabby is currently going strong and you have until the 15th of June to take a look at this great hair and add it to your style closet.

Go&See has released quite a few products lately including several eye packs as well as the skin that Brena is wearing, who as you can see has tagged along for this photo because I thought it would be a fun idea to throw her into the mix a bit more when I can and the ideas are there. I’ll get more to her in a bit but first I will tell you all about my peepers.

“Sparkle” is just one of two packs of the same name that you can currently find at the SaNaRae event and it is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul; it could also be said that these eyes are a good visual to prove that fact. There are 10 different color iris’ to choose from and I went with the closest blue to what my real eyes look like. The detail of them is super stunning and I’m not sure any photo taken in-world can do them justice, it is just something that has to be seen for itself.

They can easily be used for every day or you could use them also for any kind of role-playing situation you might find yourself in (if that is one of your hobbies). SaNaRae has just recently opened so there is plenty of time but in case your wallet has taken a pounding from The Arcade, you still have until the 18th of June to catch these eyes.

Lately I’ve been using a lot of poses from the store, WRONG, but with good reason as I really do love the poses that are made and also the collabs they do with The Owl store as well. It helps me create things that I have in my head a little bit easier which makes putting things together slightly less manic and stressful. I’ve been to several events they’ve released new products at and couldn’t resist picking them up knowing that even if I didn’t use them right that second that I would have a use for them.

I’m not sure how the numbering really works with them but this pose pack is the “Bento Static Male Poses – 37” which if they’ve come out with 37 different pose sets…that’s really super impressive! The somewhat funny part is that I likely have 3/4 of them and likely would go to their store and claim the ones that I previously didn’t own. To be perfectly honest I’d love to blog for them someday and maybe that could be a reality but for now that’s not a point. This pack contains 4 different bento static stand poses of high quality.

You can find this pose set at the current round of Ultra which the doors will close for this round on the 10th of June which gives you over a week to go take a look at their booth which has other pose sets as well so there’s plenty of posing options for you and your photography.

Brena has come out to assist me for this post and she has a little bit of everything going on with her look, some things older and previously blogged as noted and a few things that may not be new but are new to her along with one new product at a current event, so let’s dive into the specifics shall we?

Earlier in the post I talked about new releases from Go&See which one of them were the eyes I am wearing and the other is “Tina”, the skin that Brena is wearing. This is the first time I’ve used a skin from Go&See that was not male and I’m rather impressed by all the options that come along with them as far as brows and freckles for the face and all the body skin options.

The face skin works for both Catwa and Omega enabled mesh heads which is great for me because Brena’s noggin of choice is LeLutka’s “Chloe”. I felt that when I was putting her together I didn’t want to give her a CATWA head because I know so many people with them that I wanted to diversify from it. There is also a plus that the HUDs for the head are ridiculously awesome and are jam packed with features. However, with that said there’s always pro’s and con’s to everything which I won’t get into here because then it would turn a simple blog into nearly a manifesto of some sort.

Getting back to the face, it comes in 8 tones (Albi, Goth, Pale, Summer, Tan, Dark Tan, Tropic, and Cola) with 5 brow options (No brows, white brows, light brows, dark brows, and brow with freckles) which gives you a lot of options to find that right combination to make your girl face super pretty! The body appliers in the same 8 tones as the face skins are sold separately and have so many options that it just blows my mind and would take me forever to try to explain them all so I’m going to give you the abridged version. There are several styles of breasts as well as butts which also gives you a lot of customization to work with all on an Omega applier which will work for just about every body out there.

For attire she tagged the lucky boards at Petit Mort and came home with a flowery camisole and some jeans. She did also get some really great rose printed flats but those didn’t make it into the shot so I may have to photograph them down the line because they are really nice and well worth hanging around the store for the first letter of your name to spring up.

By now I’m sure you’ve either skipped to the credits or just got tired of reading altogether and I don’t blame you because I do tend to get wordy when I get on a roll with writing these things but if you managed to make it here to the end I applaud you and thank you for taking the time to see what all I had to say. Hopefully soon I’ll be getting back to a more regular schedule with blog posts, it’s been a seemingly wild past month but the ideas are still inside my brain and I look forward to sharing them.

Until our paths cross again…onto the next conversation

[#486] And What Of My Soul?

All those things that you couldn’t say
You should’ve said
All those I-love-you’s lost
Weighed more like lead on your chest

Atreyu, ♫The Remembrance Ballad

WOW, it has been some time since I’ve done a “fantasy” type blog post.

Pulling this together took more than I want to go over the details of considering that there were several outfit changes (not by me personally but for Brena) to make this come to life (or is that unlife?) Image Essentials released a group of different poses that focused on vampires and this is a topic I’ve always been interested in that began when I was much younger than I am today.

Whether it is books, movies, or even rpg’s or video games that have to do with these creatures, be sure that I’m all in (though I’m not the biggest fan of Twilight because vampires do not sparkle…sorry!) It even reminds me of something some of you in-world might have heard of called Bloodlines. When I first started out my virtual journey I remember the game/rp and I entertained the idea of getting involved with it but the more research I did, the more I found out what a blatant money soak it was and for me there wasn’t enough of a TRUE role-play experience for me so I took a pass on it. I come from a very extensive RP background well before my time in this virtual world and felt that I would be selling out to something I felt was against what I stood for creatively.

There are some of you that might have played it (or still do if it is still a thing) and if I have offended you then I apologize sincerely but I do not feel like there is anything wrong with having a difference in opinion.

During the process of staging the photo and getting everything prepared it helped that several products other than the “Bloodlust” bento 2 person pose by Image Essentials. Go&See’s latest skin “Theo” is also available at Men Only Monthly and let me tell you when it comes to skins that allow an avatar to look gothic or vampiric, Kristyna Wikifoo does the best job. I’ve used the “Goth” tone of skins by Go&See for several photos and they’ve all come out the way I’ve wanted. With the way the lighting came together I certainly have the undead creature of the night down pat.

Besides the Goth applier (which includes two HUDs for both CATWA and OMEGA), the skin is also available in Pale. Summer, Tan and Dark Tan and feature options for brows/no brows as well as facial hair options mixed in. The body skins are sold separately for OMEGA compatible bodies and only work with the latest versions of Go&See products.

Men Only Monthly runs from the 20th of April until the 15th of May so there is still plenty of time to check it out.

FaMESHed is also back again and for those of you fortunate enough to have been able to make it in there you’ve seen plenty of new fashion, accessories, and decoration. It was a fruitful trip for both myself and Brena as we both found new items to use in our wardrobes as you are about to find out in a moment. The event is celebrating it’s 6th anniversary which seems CRAZY to think it has been that long since the very first event took place. Even before I started blogging I still was very much into all sorts of things like furniture that I could find at the event so it’s really great to see it still going strong with so much support.

Once again I’ve been hit by the Deadwool bug. Their latest item at FaMESHed is the “Lorenzo” shirt which is a half buttoned tucked in shirt that gives you the option to wear it with or without an undershirt both of which can be colored by HUD if you’ve purchased the FATPACK (which is the only real way for me despite the elevated cost). If the FATPACK is just a little bit out of your limit there are three different packs (Light, Medium, and Dark) that you can certainly get your fill if there’s a certain grouping of colors you can’t live without. I do see myself wearing this shirt in different stylings over time so it validated my choice of going all the way and getting the FATPACK.

Finding the right dress that really worked with the theme was definitely a challenge for me to get Brena ready but while I was at the FaMESHed I came across the “Embroidered Strap Bodycon Dress” by Rebel Gal. I chose the wine color because it matched the red highlights in her hair and so I coordinated her dress to that and it worked out perfectly. The dress has two faces to it (the shirt and the dress itself) and an included HUD allows for you to change the color of the top with a variety of different options so that you won’t have to worry about it being stale after a while for those of you who like to wear things more than once (and I hope you would otherwise it would be a gross misuse of funds).

With my last new piece of my look (to which I am slightly behind but am going to be caught up with very soon and humbly apologize) I have a very recent hair release from Modulus which is named “Mateo”. It’s a short length hair that I personally think would work best with a shaved base but you can still go with a normal base if you are not truly a fan of the shaved style.

As with previously releases there are 25 different colors divided into 5 HUDS (all 5 are available in a FATPACK to save you some dough) and each one has an integrated color tinting section to give you unlimited options. This item can be found at the Modulus store as well as online at their marketplace location both of which you will have access to down in the credits below.

This was definitely quite the enjoyable challenge but for now it is time for me to wrap this up so I can begin to stage my next photo/look as there’s always plenty to wear and feature; I’m looking forward to seeing what turns up next and what location or backdrop (whichever the case might be) becomes the next visual. Hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend and until our paths cross again,

Onto the next conversation…
