[#708] D.O.A.

On our knees we pray
As we waste away
And we dig our grave
Dead on arrival
In this mess we made
Fill our lungs with hate
Just to numb the pain
Dead on arrival

I Prevail, ♫D.O.A.♫

One of the best things (which I have said plenty of times over the course of being a Pose Fair blogger) is being introduced to new creators. Such as Darcio creations, who during this round of the fair has released the “Guns & Roses” pose. The pose has both props included the moment you sit on the pose stand. This has me definitely debating about why I’d be holding a rose and a gun at the same time. In this case it is better that things are left unsaid and leave an open narrative.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! I’ll be back again soon with some more fun items from the Pose Fair which you still have until the 22nd to visit and boost your creative photos.

[#702] The War We Made

Waking up from myself
To a life outside this hell
No more lies, no more pain
You can’t fight the war we made
The war we made

When I mentioned in my last post that this was the final days of Pose Fair I completely misspoke and want to correct that really quick before I get into anything. The final day for the event is the 28th so there is still plenty of time to get to the event to get those poses for your photography creations before they transfer to their creator’s stores (or get retired as so may possibly). I realized that after I’d posted it and figured I had an opportunity to correct it and here it it is! I have seen a lot of fellow event bloggers making really great posts and even bloggers that I follow on Flickr. Everyone is creating great scenes with the products from Pose Fair.

The pose set that I am using a pose from in this photo is from R.Bento called “Lui”. There are five poses in the set (including mirrors) and are packed into a convenient and easy to use HUD. It makes it a lot easier for those of us who find a location that we cannot put out pose stands at. Major props for anyone who utilizes this type of system. They do come in handy far more than some realize.

I’m also wearing a set of clothing items from the L&B Swear “Sweartech” line which includes the bomber jacket, cap, and mask. These items together remind me a little bit of the video game “Watch Dogs” and could quite possibly be a nod to the game franchise. If so, I can tell you that these products are supremely well made as you can come to expect from Lapointe & Bastchild. There are a lot of options as far as color ways and the jacket has the option for the hood on the sweatshirt to be pulled up or down or even completely removed. How’s that for customization?

But am I alone, am I alright
Am I insane, am I alive
What does it take to
Stop waging war with
All I thought I wanted
All I thought I needed

[#701] Not Dead Yet

No, I’m not dead yet
I’m losing myself to the darkness in my head
Suffocating
Getting hard to breathe, everything is caving in
I won’t let it
I keep weighing me down but this isn’t how it ends
I’d regret it
No, I’m not dead yet

Fame On Fire, ♫Not Dead Yet♫

Just a couple more days left for the September round of Pose Fair. I encourage everyone that hasn’t been there for some reason or another to take a look at the multitude of excellent pose creators participating in this event. There are too many good ones that I wouldn’t want to take away from any of them by only listing a few. That would just be discourteous.

In the scene I’ve photographed today I’m using a pose from the “In My Head” set by XTC Poses. It’s a set of sitting poses that for me is great because I tend to want to do more poses where I’m sitting but usually never find the right one and I give up way too easily. This particular set really caught my eye so it all just came down to which pose would win out and be the one I used.

While I’m not much for decor, I found myself really liking the “TimeRoomSet” by Kazza that is available for a really inexpensive price for Happy Weekend. It is also something worth checking out too for anyone who might be looking for some furniture that looks great. There is not much to say about my look other than most of it is comprised of some of my favorites like my hair by Stealthic and my clothing by Cold-Ash. The only other new item besides the pose is the “Seth” skin by Stray Dog which can be found at this month’s TMD (The Men’s Department).

[#699] Not Tired Of You

I want to feel a change
I don’t mind if it hurts
You take away the pain
You’re the only thing that’s pure

The Exies, ♫Tired Of You♫

It’s been a long time since I’ve had the pleasure of taking a photograph with guests posing for me so I thought it was time to change that. Thankfully the timing was right that I was able to snag my brother Lucky and his lady, Aria, at their home for what I feel turned out to be a really great photo. Both Lucky and Aria both are photographers as well so for them to do this for me is a big deal.

Lucky for the last few months has been spinning tunes at The Burrow Co. every other Saturdays (his next gig is this weekend on the 12th). Sometimes he’s got themes going and did a memorable tribute to Chester Bennington (of Linkin Park) on the 18th of July. I was there in attendance and there were lots of people there for that. Overall it was a great experience. If you enjoy Rock music and sometimes a few surprises thrown in between then you definitely need to go check him out.

Aria when she’s not taking photos is a phenomenal landscaper and decorator. I’ve seen first hand what she is capable of and I cannot express how good of an eye she has for it. Being someone that has very little patience for this type of thing, I respect anyone who devotes their time into creating awe-inspiring lands for her clients.

The couples pose I’ve chosen comes from a fairly new pose pose store called “PosaRosa”. I myself like to show love to some of the new kids on the block when it comes to poses so that with the light shining on them people get to know them better. I feel with the photo I took of Lucky and Aria, it made for a really sweet fall type moment. Those looking for couples poses should take a look at “Support Me!” at the PosaRosa booth at Pose Fair which runs until the 21st of September.

Also be sure to check out Lucky’s blog here and also Aria’s blog here for more great photos and fashions.

[#698] Maybe It’s Time

Nobody knows what waits for the dead
Nobody knows what waits for the dead
Some folks just believe in the things they’ve heard and the things they read
Nobody knows what awaits for the dead

Bradley Cooper, ♫Maybe It’s Time♫

When it comes to an event like Pose Fair I find that it allows for you to essentially take photos of all sorts of scenarios or find a way to be anything or anyone you want. Whether it be a wizard, a warrior, a gymnast or even in my case for this post: a cowboy. Very rarely have I done shots like this because I’m from the city so I don’t really have the mentality it would take to be a cowboy. It doesn’t mean I dislike them (because I totally think anyone who is a cowboy is alright with me).

CuCa Designs has a great pose set for men for this round and is appropriately called “Going Country”. It comes with the black Stetson hat that you see in the shot along with mirrored versions of each pose. Want to take things a step further? At the booth there is also a backdrop called “Hickory Barn” that you can give your photo an authentic country feel.

Pose Fair just opened a few days ago so if you happen to try to go and the region is full? Don’t give up because a lot of photography treasures await you. There’s plenty of time to get to the event so don’t stress out.

[#696] I’m Throwing Caution

I’m throwing caution
What’s it gonna be?
Tonight the winds of change are coming over me
If I don’t get out
Out of this town
I just might be the one
Who finally burns it down

The Killers, ♫Caution♫

Pose Fair begins in just over a day and I’m looking really forward to getting into a lot of the great items that this round has to offer. Not only am I featuring the “Breathing Pack Orion” by Beras from the event that begins on the 7th, but I’m also wearing the brand new “Alessio Suit Blazer” by Cold-Ash which has just dropped at the Anthem event that began just a few short days ago. If you already have the trousers of the same name then all you have to do is pick up either the open shirt style or the button up with tie style. If you feel ambitious then go with both because both of them are really sick. I felt like using the open version would go along with what’s going on in the background. Turning up the heat if you will.

Lock&Tuft also shows up in this entry with the new “CHAMPION” hair which can be found right now at The Warehouse event. For anyone that ever wanted a mullet style on the grid now you can get it. Business in the front and party in the back as they say! The style I pulled off for this pic was immensely satisfying. Keep an eye out for more featured items from the September round of Pose Fair.

[#695] Stand

Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around
If wishes were trees, the trees would be falling
Listen to reason, season is calling

R.E.M., ♫Stand♫

The September Round of Pose Fair is fast approaching and one of the things that they’ve encouraged us to do is a challenge where we take a photo without the use of a pose and relied on just background and clothing. I can already tell you that without the use of poses or animation overriders, the grid would be an awfully boring place with everyone wandering around aimlessly like robots. So my advice to you is if you happen to run into a pose creator take the time to offer them some kind words and possibly even thank them for what they do.

Without them we’d all just kind of look like goofs. As you can see with my secondary shot below, there’s a lot more going on then because of the appearance of movement. So here’s to you pose creators and animators, you sincerely have my adoration!

[#692] I’m Not Your Gameboy

Don’t play with me
I’m not your toy
Oh can’t you see
I am not your Gameboy

Freezepop, ♫I’m Not Your Gameboy♫

One of the things I’ve been passionate about for as long as I can remember is video games. In a recent discussion, I had with a friend I rattled off just about every gaming system I’ve owned since I was small. That all started with the Atari and even though games back then were nothing like they are now, they still offered hours of enjoyment to not only myself but to my family members.

As time went on things improved from the graphics and sound but to the way they were played. Until the late 80’s everything had to be played connected to a television and while that is still very much the case now, gamers would get a taste of something different: Handheld Gaming Systems. The Gameboy was like one of the single greatest things of its time when it was released and as one of those kids that owned one. I was in cloud nine.

One of my favorite games that I enjoyed playing more than anything was Tetris, which as far as puzzle games go, is still one of my all-time favorites. This was before Jewel Quest and Candy Crush which for anyone that is a fan of those games should find some version of Tetris and give it a try. I would stay up trying to beat whatever high score that was previously made the time before and on school nights I would have to be sneaky with a flashlight. Maybe that is where I started to become a night owl?

Lock&Tuft has released a virtual version of the original Gameboy and have called it, POCKETGIRL. It comes with a small handful of poses and a HUD with a dozen or so colors that allow you to personalize it in a way that best fits you. I chose the OG style because that’s what I most relate to and am fond of.

This release can be found at their in-world store so for game buffs or just someone that is into nostalgia or pop culture. I encourage you to go and take a look because it can make picture-taking become a lot more fun.

I don’t have Spy Hunter

[#690] Where Were You?

Down the black hole
Hope is shallow
Tell me where were you?
Time can be so
Cold and hollow
Tell me where were you?

Flight Paths, ♫Shallow♫

Greetings! It’s been a while since my last entry and I hope everyone out there is doing well and staying safe in whatever part of the world they are at. I’ve finally found some inspiration with the newest release from Cold-Ash. The BLAISE Tee is at this current round of The Men’s Department. Be sure to also check its companion release, the LARKHAM Jeans.

I’ve also included a fun prop from lock&tuft: a nifty walkie talkie that has several hand/arm positions to choose from. I really like things like this (always have) because it helps makes scenes come together.

Another day fades out of time
Into nothing, pay you no mind
In outer space so paralyzed
It’s not too late
Open your eye
