[#588] You Don’t Look Back

When will you learn?
I’m not your boy
You don’t look back
Why do I pick up your slack?

Filter, ♫Jurassitol

I apologize for the lack of new posts but I’ve been under the weather for the last week or so and it caught up to me in the last few. To give myself a little bit if a needed break I decided to refrain from partaking in any kind of photo taking or blogging until I felt in the right state to do it and this is my way of testing the water a little bit.

I have a little bit of time before any new commitments blogging wise come up so I decided to try my hand at something I usually reserve for Halloween, which is do photographs inspired by The Crow. I’ve loosely associated this photo with the second film in the series, City of Angels and while nothing will ever come close to the originals I enjoyed it as best as I could because I wasn’t expecting anything so I wasn’t disappointed.

The version of the the character, Ash, was a mechanic who rides a motorcycle in the film so this is my tribute to it but not as closely based as my previous photos related to the original film.

Everything I used for this photo are non-current event items that I pulled together however there is a new release that is store specific in the form of the “Leather Leggings” that I am wearing from NOCHE. That’s right, I couldn’t pass these up because I am a fan of things that are made of leather…(wallets, jackets, shoes and of course pants or leggings as these are). There is also a latex version that came out at the same time if you’re more into that than leather which is alright too. But you can get your leggings fix on by going to the main store and checking these out.

NOCHE – Leather Leggings (Black)

  • Original mesh
  • Materials for advanced lighting
  • 3 different sizes for male “package”
  • Fitted sizes for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Geralt & Gianni) mesh bodies

Sometimes putting photos together can be difficult as far as poses go. Trying to find the right thing to make the setting perfect so while I was trying to find the perfect motorcycle prop and pose set, I ended up combining the bike from WetCat’s recent “Young Blood” couples pose with Poseidon Poses “Action Bike” pose set (took them out of the bike and threw the pose I wanted into a poseball). Combining them worked out for me because it gave me the look I wanted from the start; sometimes improvising is the best answer to getting the results I’m looking for.

I love long coats (duster’s and trenches or anything in that family) and through a photo I saw on Facebook, I was introduced to one I’d never seen before by Lenox. It surprised me because I’m usually pretty good at keeping up with releases from the store with many of them residing in my closet already. I made a run for the store and instantly grabbed all of them because who knows when I may need this in another color down the road (pun intended of course). The fit is great and it also has materials to give it an extra special look with advanced lighting much like the leggings I paired it with.

On that note though I think I am going to leave you all with the credits and at least say that if anyone might be interested in the face pain I have on it is one that’s been retired for quite a while so it’s something that unfortunately cannot be purchased. Hopefully though someone will come along and and perhaps make an newer version that could be even better.

I am going to go find some more things to bundle up with and be back again soon providing I don’t freeze to death in the great freezover of 2019. Hope you’ve enjoy my brief little post and I look forward to getting back more into the swing of things in the next few days as February is now upon us. Until then be will, stay safe and treat others as you’d like being treated.

Best regards,

Brennan

[#587] The Devil’s In The Next Room

Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up
Pick up the phone
You said it yourself you’re scared of being alone
You said it yourself that you can crack the code
But the static you hear automatically keeps you exposed on your own

Shinedown, ♫Devil

Not many television shows have had the longevity that Supernatural has had for the last 14 years. It is one of my favorite shows and that fact they can still keep my attention this long tells me that they are doing something right. I’ve started some shows in the past that I never ended up finishing (The Vampire Diaries which I was gladly able to pick back up on Netflix). The adventures that the brothers Winchester go on are very exciting no matter what they or their acquintances (friends and family as well) get into.

I have done several posts displaying my fandom for the show from the perspectives of Sam & Dean as well as done on where I had a friend play Castiel. However, not once did I ever think about doing something that pays homage to one of the many antagonists on the show: the demons. During my post processing I had an issue where the black smoke I wanted coming out of the meat suit (the vessel the demon is hiding out in as referenced by the show). It was too dark so I decided to go with red, which man of the higher ups in the demon world have when “smoking out” of a vessel. Notably Crowley and I believe Lucifer himself have displayed the crimson version to my knowledge. There have probably been others but having been on the air for 14 seasons (and rewatching them from the beginning would take forever) it is easy to forget things.

Pose Fair ends tonight and I am hoping this is the equivalent of going out with a bang. I’ve enjoyed this tremendously and am likely going to take a day or so break from posting to recharge (maybe) before I start to see things from the February special edition for Valentine’s goes into effect. I would like to thank Ruby and Jason (as well as everyone else behind the scenes) for creating such an awesome environment to blog for. It is an honor to have been chosen by you for this event and I cannot express how much it means to me.

Getting down to it my last pose is from CORPUS Poses and is easily enough called “Him”. It is a varied set of standing and a sitting pose and one of them happened to be one where I am looking up which was perfect to get in just the right angle where I could simulate a demon vacating my avatar with a little bit of help from the LeLutka face hud (the facial expressions are not a part of the pose just to let you know). There are five poses to this set in all and they are all really usable in just about any situation you can think of.

To take a catchphrase from another show “TREAT YOSELF” and stop by the Pose Fair one more time or for the first time before it ends tonight. Your photography will thank you for it and that is something I can genuinely guarantee.

Corpus Poses – Him Pose Set

  • Bento enabled pose (bento viewer needed)
  • 5 different poses to choose from
  • Static poses for you to put in your own poseballs or pose stands
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19 (Ends tonight so hurry!!!!)

For this blogs style, I decided on casual while combining and older release with a brand new one. My shirt comes from Deadwool and is called “Lorenzo”; it is a tucked in button down with shirt underneath. It’s one of those pieces of clothing I like to revisit and it just happens to pair up well with the “Roll Up Pants” by Native Urban which just hit the racks  at Uber a few days ago.

Gentleman if you like dress up style pants with a bit of a roll up cuff at the bottom then these are definitely your new jam. While single color options can be nice I can only stress how much of a value it is to get the complete FATPACK and give yourself many options to allow for pairing it with about any of the shirts in your virtual closets. To be able to change parts of it such as the belt, the pants and even the slight little bit of boxer shorts poking out I can’t find a better reason not to go all in.

Native Urban – Roll Up Pants

  • Original mesh
  • Single options sold seprately
  • FATPACK includes HUD to change 7 parts (14 colors available)
  • Fitted for Signature (Gianni) and Maitreya (Lara) for the ladies
  • Currently exclusive to Uber until 02/23/19

On that note I think it is time to finish this up with giving you all the style information that pertains to this look and of course if there is something here that you see that you are interested in that is not listed then first check my Credits page which lists what head, skin, and body that I am presently wearing on a consistent basis. If it is anything else then get a hold of me through social media or by email which is on my about page.

Time to go celebrate all the creativity I’ve had with the Pose Fair and maybe relax with some games and time with great people. I will catch everyone again hopefully very soon but until then be well and start a conversation and keep it going.

Best regards,

B

[#586] Slow

But it’s you who brought me here
You, through all these years

Grouplove, ♫Slow

Today is the last day for the Pose Fair and I have two posts that before the end of the day that will complete my coverage for the event. Overall I feel like posts I made with the poses have been some of my most inspired work lately. A third (maybe more like half) of my photos have been done with Brenna who has been really helpful in this whole process. In the past I never really did many couples poses because of timing or just ideas but whenever I ask her if she wants to do it there is never a complaint.

We came together to use a pose from a store that I am not familiar with. Lyrium Poses’ “Right Here” is a sweet couples pose that the name could not be better stated. During the process of taking this photo there was no place I wanted to be other than with her and I hope that the finished picture reflects just that. The closeness that this pose depicts really gave me a feeling as if time was standing still.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for future releases from Lyrium now that I know that I like what they’ve put up for sale at the fair.

Lyrium Poses – Right Here

  • Bento enabled couples pose (bento viewer needed)
  • Linked poseballs (can be edited to adjust for avatar difference)
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19

My outfit is fairly simple and I combined one of the things from my closet (the “Ethan Tank” by Salt & Pepper and the “Steampunk Skinny Jeans” by Joker’s Asylum). I truly like the work done Joker’s Asylum and have purchased several items from the store in the past and I am friends with the owner so by featuring his work, I am showing my support the best I can. The tank goes well with just about anything and I like that it isn’t one of the thin strapped type of tanktops as in real life they bug me (not sure why but they do).

Brenna has been doing a lot more shopping then I have as of late and I’m kind of slacking when it comes down to it but I’ve been having a good time with some of the clothes I already have. It’s better to show that I still enjoy them instead of just blogging them when they are new and never looking at them again or ultimately tossing them away.

We both did our fair share of shopping at the new A+ event that just opened recently which has a diverse selection of items in just about every genre type you can think of. Her dress, the “Office Dress” by Kaithleens is really nice and is a proper attire with just that little hint of sexy going on. Personally I like that she chose the pink version because as nice as black would have been it would be too plain and dare I say boring.

As I write this it’s pretty late in the evening/early morning for some and I am considering just setting this up to post later in the morning but I am going to throw caution to the wind and get out there and then those who are enjoying their weekend will rise from their sleep and have something to look at. One of the things I enjoyed doing before I became a blogger was to check my favorite sites the moment I settled in at the computer after breakfast (or sometimes lunch).

On that note it is time for me to leave you with the credits to go get some shut eye so I can get started on my final post for Pose Fair. This has been a really fun thing to blog with and I am looking forward to the February “Pop-Up” Valentine’s Edition of Pose Fair to visit more great poses to take pictures of Brenna and I with to put in frames in our home.

Take care until next,

B

[#585] More Than A Feeling

It’s more than a feeling
When I hear that old song they used to play
And I begin dreaming
‘Til I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin’ away

Boston, ♫More Than A Feeling

My coverage for Pose Fair is close to completion as the event closes up tomorrow night but I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve before all is said and done. I grabbed my brother Paul for a shoot that reminds me a little bit of when I was younger in the real world and I used to spend time with my brother. Memories like this are fun to try to portray virtually because the internet is able to hold onto them for a long time.

Space Cadet’s pose set “Teen Spirit” is a fun one that has five different air guitar poses. Not many people I know of do it today but it was a pretty big thing to do for fun when listening to music in my younger years (This was before video games took over). Both Paul and I have different poses from the set and I cannot tell you how much fun we had with this and the coolest part is that the poses are named after musicians such as Axl Rose and Slash from Guns N’ Roses.

Many of the poses that I have used for blogs from Pose Fair are great (as are ones that I have not as well) but this definitely is a lot of fun and I think that anyone that gets this pose pack could live out their rock star fantasies.

Space Cadet – Teen Spirit Pose Set

  • Bento enabled poses (bento viewer needed)
  • 5 different poses

Modulus has quite a few new releases going right now and in this post the style I have on is the “Pete Hair”. It is a short to mid length style that flows to one side of the face or the other depending on which version you wear. I have seen a lot of musicians have similar hairstyles to this and using it for this photo works out for me because I feel like I choose the right direction for the hair to fall as I jam out to some Boston.

It goes without saying that if you’re a guy looking for new hair that you should check out Modulus not only just their store but also at the events they participate in which they are attached to some of the best out there including male specific ones.

Modulus – Pete Hair

  • 100% original “nex-gen” alpha mesh
  • 5 color packs with integrated color tinting HUDs
  • 40 color FATPACK is also available
  • Exclusive to Man Cave until 02/11/19

I‘ve been sticking with my closet and wearing clothes that likely have been featured a time or two here but I decided to do a little shopping this afternoon; visiting both The Men’s Department and Men Only Monthly to put together an outfit that I really like. I’ll start with my shirt which is from Chuck Size and called “FABIO”. Graphic shirts are probably my most favorite type of shirt there is and the designs that this store has on theirs is super cool to me. It only makes sense that if I am doing a photo where I’m playing air guitar to possibly one of the most well known songs of the last 40+ years that a shirt with a skeleton holding a guitar is appropriate.

The jogging pants I am wearing come from etham and can be found at Men Only Monthly. Taking into account all of the previous things I mentioned, jogging pants made it clear to me that I have kind of a retro look going on that is pretty 80’s or 90’s inspired. Might as well be comfortable while I’m doing my best impression of just about any famous guitar player out there wailing away at a guitar solo.

Paul is attired in past releases from Cold-Ash and takes after his brother when it comes to knowing good clothing when he sees it.

On that note I think we’ve jammed out a good while and you all know what’s what. Time for some credits to get you out there shopping and if the weather is anything like it is here…staying in and going on a shopping trip is a lot more exciting. If you must venture out please be safe and warm and do NOT lick frozen light poles, you’ll live to regret it!

Best regards,

B

[#584] Mama’s Got A Girlfriend Now

But mama’s got a girlfriend now boy
Mama’s got a girlfriend now
Mama’s got a girlfriend
Mama’s got a true friend
Mama’s got a girlfriend now

Ben Harper, ♫Mama’s Got A Girlfriend Now

When I take photographs, I like to try and do a little bit of everything. More often not it often it is a serious shot and the rest are a random mix of romantic and now and then I take a few that are comical and not meant to be serious at all. This entry is one of those moments because I didn’t want to make the content of the photo sad because it could be depicted that way.

CH Poses have two different pose sets that feature three people in them and the one I am using is called “Pizza Is Life”. The situation my character is in is that the woman in his life decided she prefers the attention of her own gender which leaves him with only pizza to console him. This reminded me of the old Ben Harper song, “Mama’s Got A Girlfriend Now”. The situation in the song is perhaps a little different as it is told from the viewpoint of a child whose Father is not very good at being a husband so the Mother in question turns to the comfort of another woman who makes her happy.

I cracked up after I put the scene together thanks to the help of Brenna and Brooke who modeled for me while I did all the work taking the photo (and eating a slice of pizza). It was Brenna’s quick thinking to find the Pizza Parlor for us to do the scene in and for the price I could not beat it at all. Probably one of the least expensive props I’ve used during my time as a blogger.

Keep in mind that with this triple pose that there may be some adjustments made as I had to work with the height and closeness between the two girls but it isn’t bad at all but I may as well say something because lots of different avi’s on the grid are of different shapes (and heights). The pose also comes with the mesh slice of pizza which is super awesome.

CH Poses – Pizza Is Life Pose and Prop

  • Bento enabled 3 person pose (bento viewer needed)
  • Adjustable to suit different sized avi’s
  • Mesh Pizza slice included
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19

Considering my attire is a collection of items I have blogged in the past, I will tell you all about the latest event to hit the grid. From the people that brought us Collabor88 comes Soiree, which is listed as the “after party” to C88. The prices vary unlike the latter which usually has 88 somewhere in the price and are more on the edgier side compared to it’s sister event.

Brenna is wearing the new dual release shirt and shorts by Emery named “Dante” and “Magnus” which are a long sleeved cropped shirt and booty shorts respectively. Her hair is also from the event and is Exile’s latest style called “Hana”. I got made fun of a little for saying that she should be a blogger in my last entry so I won’t go that route again but I will compliment her on her style because I’m always impressed with what she wears (her style is eclectic).

Brooke’s items from Soiree include her hair from Monso that is called “My Hair Terri”. Her dress is from C’iest la Vie, the “Sinea Dress”; as a fan of stars I really like the star print that is on the lower part of the dress. The combination pink upper and lower blue with yellow stars would have probably done well also in the dance blog I did last (because of it being what I’d say is retro).

Once again I’m wearing more Cold-Ash because I really love the “CARSON Hoodie” which I picked a lime green color that is very out of the ordinary for me but I wanted something different. For my hat and hair style I’m giving another look at Modulus’ “Sam Hat & Hair” to go along with the hoodie. The jeans I am wearing come from Kitt Ragy’s ::K:: store and are the “Slim Fit Jeans” in indigo that I have used before somewhere in blogs past. To me the scene called for a chill outfit and and that did the trick as far as I am concerned.

On that note (which is now my favorite way to begin ending a blog) I am going to provide you with all of the visual things you can see in our styles and of course if I might have missed out on something that you need to know about because you can’t live without it, simply drop me a line by finding my contact information in my bio and I’ll be glad to assist you with anything in this post or any of the previous ones the best I can.

I hope that you’ve been entertained by this post as much as I was taking the picture. We all need a laugh as much as possible because when we don’t it builds up and the results aren’t as fun as humor can be. There’s a massive cold front coming and for those of you that I know who are going to be experiencing it, I urge you to stay indoors if you can and if there isn’t a way around it to bundle up. Getting sick this time of year does not take a lot of effort I promise you. I hope to see you back here again soon and be well and enjoy whatever you do until next time.

Warmest regards,

B

[#583] I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Clock strikes upon the hour
And the sun begins to fade
Still enough time to figure out
How to chase my blues away

Bootstraps, ♫I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Originally Performed By Whitney Houston

One of the things that excites me about Pose Fair is all the ideas that come from the items official bloggers receive to help promote the stores and the event itself. I am taking full advantage of this by doing something fun with the Vol. 1 Male and Female Dance Poses by CuCa Poses. From the exact moment the ad was released I had a solid idea cemented in my head.

It is an added bonus that “All Night Long Bacdrops” by illuZion are both gifts to visitors to Pose Fair. The poses and the backdrop that I am using in black (pink is also available) work hand in hand to provide a great scene for club life. My days of going to clubs have long since past (though the desire to go to them when I could was fairly low) but at least it is much different in the virtual world.

My first thought going into using these poses was that I wanted to showcase both the male and female ones and gives me a reason to include Brenna. She has a great style and could easily be a blogger if she wanted to be but I respect that it is not her thing; at least I can ask her to pose for me and she does it without hesitation and offers inspiration that is valuable.

Each of these sets has 6 poses with an added bonus pose for purchasers of the FATPACKS with mirror versions included also. I had fun going through the sets to choose the two best poses for Brenna and I to ensure that our motions look as fluid as possible.

CuCa Poses – Male Dances Vol. 1 / Female Dances Vol. 1

  • Bento enabled poses (bento viewer needed for proper use)
  • Pose Stand and Static Poses in each pack.
  • Single poses sold individually as well as in a FATPACK option
  • 6+1 Exclusive FATPACK Poses (Mirrors included)
  • Vol. 2 sets are also available
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19

Another sure thing when I began planning this scene is I knew what song would be the theme for it but I decided to go with a twist. “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” was the only true choice that I could go with and it’s one of the songs that put Whitney Houston on the map but I decided to use the cover version by Bootstraps which pays tribute to the original in an amazing way.

Either version would have been great to use but going with the more recent version was easier to decide on because everyone knows Whitney’s original version and I wanted to share with readers the cover because I am a fan of Bootstraps and if others find his work through me and enjoy it then it puts a smile onto my face.

There are very few things that are better than discovering new music.

For the ladies who love gachas (and I can safely say that many as well as us fellas do) there is the {Date Night} dress set from Vanilla Bae. If you are not familiar with this store and it would surprise me if there was someone who didn’t, they offer clothing that through scripting can be removed to show what I would politely refer to as unmentionables. They do offer unscripted versions for women that are not into that kind of attire. This set includes several versions of the Corset Dress which Brenna is wearing the short version (there is a much longer one with a slit along the side). The two RARE versions are both of the dresses in the adult version in all the colors offered, however, they are called Lootbox 1 and 2 because of the event they are in (which is called LOOTBOX).

On that note I think I have left you with enough information on this blog entry and look forward to the next few as I start to wind down my coverage for Pose Fair. This has been a very productive month for myself and the blog and if recent developments pan out (vague I know) there will be even more exciting things to share with all of you.

Keep your heads up and also the conversation (topic doesn’t matter!) It has been my honor and I will be back again very soon with another installment.

All the best,

B

[#582] Can’t Forget You

When anybody says your name I wanna run away,
I keep remembering I can’t forget you
It doesn’t matter when I try it happens anyway,
It’s been forever and I can’t forget you

My Darkest Days, ♫Can’t Forget You

From time to time I create playlists for my iPod (yes I still do that and don’t even know how to use Spotify) and these songs potentially serve as audio accompaniments for blogs based on the photos I have taken or vice versa. It just so happens that the mood that came from my visit to the MoB sim helped me choose the song to base this post on.

“Can’t Forget About You” is the anthem for anyone who has been in a relationship that has for some reason or another ended and has left a profound mark. As in one of those that has you reeling for a long time on both the good or bad side of the spectrum. I can safely say I have been in one of those in my lifetime so what about you?

While I was exploring MoB I came across the bar that helped me round out the image in my head of how I wanted to photograph the scene. It goes along with the lyrics in the song about essentially drinking your life away because of the hurt (which obviously I wouldn’t recommend). I also wanted to give it a last call kind of vibe as well.

Depending on what items I want to focus on in the blog I take more than one shot but with this I took a few with different lighting and worked them together to get one picture that I feel stands out on its own without having a need for another photo or close up.

The pose set featured in this post is by KMA Poses and is called “Standing Pose Set”; it is designed for male use but I see the potential of going out of the box and maybe with minor adjustments a woman could utilize it as well. It has five poses in the set and also includes mirrored versions to find your best angle and lighting which is definitely a plus.

Finding new pose stores is what I think is core for the Pose Fair itself it gives designers that may not be widely known a chance to shine their brightest and connect with photographers and bloggers to help them reach their vision for a certain scene, profile shot or even just something to throw up on social media. My list of new stores is increasing which is alright with me.

KMA Poses – Standing Pose Set

  • Bento enabled poses (bento viewer required)
  • 10 poses in all (5+5 mirror versions)
  • Static and poseball versions in the set
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19

My outfit has nothing as far as new releases but the top I am wearing recently became a part of my wardrobe. FE Style has a long sleeved shirt that when I bought it was a part of the Saturday Sale a few weeks ago and had I tried it on sooner I would have went back and purchased more of them. I don’t have a problem with going back and getting more off sale if need be but I’ll see how things go.

The jeans I have on are becoming a staple in my current favorite list. Cold-Ash’s “HOLLOWAY Ripped Jeans” just look great on me and with the option of several denim colors I can wear them for different photos and not be overly repetitive; it also makes sense that they work well with the “ROVIDH Shirt” that I was just writing about.

Lately I have been coming back to the “Slicked Back Hair” by Deadwool and “Bristle Beard” by Birth because the combination seems to help me feel the most like how I want to represent myself virtually. I go through phases much like many others with style of hair or beard with nearly unlimited choices at my disposal but familiar doesn’t hurt in my book.

On that note I think the bar is closed up on this blog and unlike the old saying “You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here”, you are allowed to browse through previous entries and possibly leave some words of encouragement or just say that you stopped by. I should certainly take my own advice on that and visit some other wonderful bloggers and let them know that their work is fantastic. I am signing off now but keep your heads up, stay positive, and keep up the conversation.

Warmest regards,

[#581] A Conspiracy

Can you tell me wrong from right
Do you know when to freeze or take flight
Can you tell me more or less
I got to know-confess

The Black Crowes, ♫A Conspiracy

Sometimes starting blogs this late in the day could turn out interesting. I say that because the later in the day it gets the less razor sharp my mind is and I’ve determined that a lot of my blog writings tend to be rambles and I apologize for that. I’ve also been thinking about the way in which I’m writing as well and weighing the pros and cons of how to address certain things.

At times when I am writing I feel like I have an audience but using the word “you” bugs me for some reason. It runs along the same lines as using the world sponsor and yes the brands that I blog for are essentially sponsoring me by allowing me to feature their products in my blog but it just seems impersonal to me. Why I seem to dislike using “you” as a form of acknowledging readers is something I should take a more in depth look at.

I believe that I can get better at doing these write-ups without making them sound as if they drone on over and over potentially losing the audience I am trying to connect with. Bare with me while I continue to work all of this out and I appreciate everyone’s support in not only helping me become better as a photographer but also a writer. I will resume using the term “you” again to see how it goes and if I decide it is not working for me then I will continue on with the way I have addressed people before using the third person method.

Last night during a brainstorming session, I was thinking of the music of artists that I have not used before or sparingly used as soundtracks when it dawned upon me that I have given very little attention to The Black Crowes. Their music holds good memories for me as I recall spending time with my real life brother listening to them and it was always a good time no matter what music we listened to, however, it gave me a greater appreciation of different types of music.

Their brand of southern rock was something that as a younger man may or may not have played air guitar to (that was a big thing back then so laugh if you must!) I remember even getting the cd that this song is on and the pressing of it I have is one which the cover had been modified as the original one was taken from a cover of Hustler magazine (for those of you and I doubt there are many are uninitiated is a dirtier version of playboy). Of course I did not realize this until a long time after but it didn’t make any difference to me.

The music is what mattered the most.

My look for this blog is comprised of what I feel best resembles The Black Crowes frontman, Chris Robinson’s appearance in the video for “A Conspiracy”. Call it a combination of The Crow meets The Serpent and The Rainbow, gothic in nature so I put on some guyliner, black lipstick and painted my nails to create a look that is close enough.

X.T.C PoSes’s “I Don’t F@#k Wit You” is the pose set featured in today’s post; the attitude these poses bring is the precise mood I want to display. Coming up with the idea to use the nostalgic television “Standby” as my backdrop for added effect is a nice touch as well. Five poses make up this set and I used two different ones between the photos I have taken.

There have been many good single male poses for the Pose Fair but truthfully this particular one has been the most fun to photograph. I have become more of a fan of X.T.C PoSes as time has gone on and look forward to having an opportunity to feature them again in the near future; I would also like to mention that there is also another single male pose pack exclusively at the event as well.

Check it out because I’m sure you’ll be glad you did!

  • 5 different poses to choose from
  • Exclusive to Pose Fair until 01/26/19

As a blogger I get to discover new stores all the time but it is also nice when I find something I like from one that I have not worn in a long time. For example I cannot remember the last time I wore something from Breath. It is a store that I would consider myself a fan of because they cater more to a dark style of clothing (staying within the monotone range).

The thing to do now before events open (if access to the outer area of an event is possible) is to use your camera to look inside to browse items that have already been put up for sale; it’s a great way to beat some of the rush and also full regions (such a pain!) Breath’s latest outfit caught my eye because of the pocket chain that attaches to the pants as well as the abstract design on the style I am wearing. I knew I needed to have it and at the time I did not know what type of photo I would take wearing it but the timing worked out great.

Breath – SPset (B+HAND GARA)

  • Original mesh
  • Included chain add-on
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Geralt & Gianni)
  • Exclusive to Man Cave until 02/11/19

The long hair I have on is “Aaron” by Vango. When I tend to have my hair longer like that for photos or just every day wandering this is my first go to unless I choose to wear something with a hat for outdoors (winter) photos. It’s one of my favorite styles that I know won’t let me down whenever I use it. Also the guyliner I mentioned at the beginning of the blog is a part of the “Ian” skin HUD by Session Skins and the lipstick/fingernails a part of the CATWA and Signature Gianni body HUDs respectively.

On that note I am at a spot in the blog I feel comfortable ending on. I have a few more days with items from Pose Fair that ideas keep running through my head so I’m going to take advantage of it the best I can (which means possibly doing a female single post as well for a change). Once the big Pose Fair finishes the February pop-up Valentine’s Edition starts the second week which before I likely would not have been excited about but I admit that I am looking forward to it…what a difference a year makes.

Warm regards (especially to those of you in the path of the winter vortex),

B

[#580] Blood In The Water

We’ll never get free
Lamb to the slaughter
What you gon’ do
When there’s blood in the water

grandson, ♫Blood // Water

At first I had not planned on doing a blog post today but I felt a little bit inspired by a few things which meant a super quick post for everyone to look at. Once again I’m stepping out of my normal boundaries as I’ve always kind of wanted to shoot a photo like this but never had the courage to do so. It just took a tattoo, pose set and a shower build for me to complete it and maybe it’s about time?

One thing that I know for sure is never show it all just give a little bit and leave the rest to the imagination. I feel like my secondary shot also perhaps may have gone outside of my comfort level but if I am ever going to get over the fear of always playing it safe then I have to take risks (albeit tasteful ones). As I said a few key items helped me move towards the darkside a little closer, one of them being the “Dragon Lord Tattoo” by MooLoo Body Art.

I also thought I was finished with covering items from The Men Jail but I remembered this tattoo is a part of the January round so with about a week left of the event it was the right time to show it off. I like the incorporation of the flames mixed in with the skulls and what I would liken to Japanese masks which leads me to believe that it is an Asian inspired design. I’m not the creator of the item but that is what I would care to guess if I were asked about it more in depth.

Given the choice between the fresh and faded applier types, I chose to go with faded as it gives it a more worn look and I’ve also spoke about my feelings for fresh tattoos on the grid. This definitely looks awesome from front and back which I made sure to give equal showing of and hope that it is a good enough reason to take another trip to TMJ this month.

Recently within the last few blog posts I used a pose set from Lush Poses for The Men Jail and I’m once again using this stores pose set that is currently a part of the Pose Fair for January. Everyone knows of the old calendar’s with females in them (they still have them today so to speak) but this pose set is based off of what an all male calendar would be like and is appropriately named “12 Months Of Hunkiness”.

The prospects were good with finding the right pose (well poses since I used two for this shoot) and angles that ensure that I wouldn’t be showing anything extremely naughty because it would make me have to label it a certain way when I post to Flickr and that’s just not something I enjoy doing so it’s safe enough and that’s good enough for me.

As the name also implies there are 12 different poses (with mirrors for 24 total) that vary from laying, sitting and also standing which gives it not only a variety but also value as well. I like the concept of the pose set so I’m giving props to Lush for making another solid set of poses for men to use and for others to enjoy after the photos have been taken.

  • Bento enabled poses (bento viewer required)
  • 12 different poses (each with mirror versions)

N21 starts it’s January/February round today and Modulus is releasing a new medium length hanging style, the “Adrian Hair”. When it comes to hair there really isn’t much out there that has a wet look and I figured that with this hair hanging down in the front that it gave the best appearance of the water from the shower hitting it just right so that I could wash it.

As a fan of the store and their releases, this is really high at the top of my current favorites list next to “Leo” which I have enjoyed that style as well. I also realize that Modulus has a style for just about every scene I come up with an idea for so that tells me that our partnership was meant to be and I hope that whenever I do blog the products that it shows in what I say and also how the photos present themselves too.

Modulus – Adrian Hair

  • 100% “nex-gen” alpha hair
  • 5 color HUDs + integrated color picker (sold individually)
  • 40 color FATPACK also available
  • Left and right mirror versions included
  • Exclusively @ N21 until 02/12/19

To aid me in completing this scene I used the “Wet Body & Face” by Izzie’s to give my skin more of a wet and glistening look but most importantly the background in the scene is the new “Minimalistic Walk In Shower” by Fourth Wall that is a part of the freshly opened round of FaMESHedX. For those who are not initiated it is like the original FaMESHed event but with a more adult selection of clothing and furniture.

I would have used the animations in the shower itself but it would have prohibited me from using the pose set; usually I don’t use builds or furniture with animations unless I use the included ones but I had to make a sacrifice to get the shot I wanted. Also I didn’t think it would be that great of an idea to do a video showing some of what it did as it would likely not be kept on YouTube very long.

On that note I think this is all the mileage I am going to get with this particular entry but I will be back with some more Pose Fair goodness before the time runs out on that. I appreciate everyone who has left comments here or on social media as of late because it’s been a great motivating factor for me which helps me keep working at kicking down the doors to new opportunities.

For all of the people that have had cold weather events recently stay warm, dry, and safe and know that I’m in the same boat as you. Keep the conversations going until we all converge on this page again!

Warmest regards,

B

[#579] Snowblind

Let the winter sunshine on
Let me feel the frost of dawn
Build my dreams on flakes of snow
Soon I’ll feel the chilling glow

Black Sabbath, ♫Snowblind

I‘m back to my usual kind of blog after experimenting a little over the last few posts; was my venturing past my boundaries successful? The jury isn’t in yet but I think if I sprinkle a little bit of this and that in my work and not do so much of the same old same that it could be beneficial to me and my creativity. Pose Fair has really been helping me out with that as well giving me the ability to do all different kinds of photos (singles and couples, and before the round is over maybe even friend or group ones).

HCXII has been on my list of pose stores to blog for a while now and I wasn’t able to swing anything from the October ’18 round of Pose Fair but I made darn sure that I wasn’t losing that opportunity this time. They’ve released a series called Hellgrind and there is a set for males, females, and a male friends set all with guitar props. The set I am using is the Hellgrind “Haedulus” which includes 2 different versions of the guitar that when poses the users avatar when worn. There are 6 different poses to choose from so that rocking out in a photo never seemed sweeter.

This pose combine with the arctic type background gave me the opportunity to crank up some Black Sabbath and use “Snowblind” as this blog posts theme. I also wanted to make it look like one of those old school 80’s or 90’s videos where the lead guitarist is in some remote location just grinding away on his axe like it wasn’t out of place. That’s my bit of nostalgia for the time being and it was pretty fun getting this together in little to no time flat.

HCXII – Hellgrind Haedulus Prop and Pose Set

  • Mesh guitar prop (two variations)
  • Wear guitar to activate pose
  • 6 poses in the set
  • Exclusively @ Pose Fair until 01/26/19

One of the cool things being a blogger for different brands is that I get introduced to new events that one of the stores I blog for is participating in; the most recent of which is Salon 52. This is an event strictly for hair stores and while most of what I have seen so far has been geared towards women I feel that in time the amount of male items involved will increase (hopefully that is). Modulus is one of the stores involved in this event and gladly for me is that most of their production is being the stylist to the fellas on the grid, myself included.

The hair that they have at Salon 52 is something I thought definitely works for the rockstar vision I had for my look; the “Tony Hair” which is a medium length flowing hair does the job. It helps me give the appearance that I’m shredding away in a snow laced middle of the arctic where it is fairly windy; my hair blowing around. This is a prime example of what I was writing about as it pertains to Modulus hair, it’s not just a flat boring hairs and gives the appearance of moving (such as the wind blown look).

Modulus – Tony Hair

  • 100% “Nex-Gen” Alpha Mesh
  • 5 color packs + integrated color picker HUDs
  • 40 color FATPACK also available
  • Left and right mirrored versions
  • Exclusively @ Salon 52 until 02/04/19

Besides the pose and hair, the only other item that I haven’t previously blogged is the jacket I have on from a store named Kio. I was going through the items list from The Saturday Sale and it interested me enough to take a closer look. The store itself is pretty new as there were only a few items there but I figure it will expand more as new things are made; after testing and making sure it fit I quickly snapped it up.

I returned to the platform where I place down backdrops and get dressed for blogs more often then not and this may be considered a lazy tactic but I like how the Gabriel pants and boots from the motorcycle blog I did with Brenna looked so I put those on and called it good. I wanted to my friend Lucky’s place (which is in the arctic) and began working.

This post came together rather quickly which was nice because I have been tired the last couple days from RL stuff. Anytime I can take a photograph and get it ready and write so that it is ready to post the next morning is a blessing and helps to keep the workflow steady like a stream (much like the near frozen lakes behind me in the photo).

On that note I am going to close this up and leave the credits behind. Plenty more to do but for now I am going to set this to post in the morning so I can get a fresh start and share it with the social medias while most of the world is still conscious. Keep the conversations going and I shall catch everyone again real soon!

Warmest regards,

B
