Won’t you believe it
It’s just my luck…Nirvana, ♫School♫
I am noticing now that with streamlining how much I feature in blogs has not only helped keep my thoughts fresh but my creativity on level where I expect it should be at. Another thing that I have also been doing is finishing posts later in the evening and setting them to post the next day and all I have to do is finish promoting them to social media (which has also helped).
Many of the items in this blog are carry overs from things I’ve purchased from events that have long been over (though none of them are from brands I represent) along with one new item that is and can be found currently at Uber.
Small bit of insight into creating this idea is I have done a few scenes that have pertained to high school or school in general but this time I turned it up just one more notch and with the help of “School” by Nirvana which is one of their songs before they hit the big time (it is on their first album “Bleach”) with simple lyrics but it hits the point.
By the time you reach high school and the start to feel some of the pressures of becoming an adult you realize the days of having recess and fun times are behind you. Then that time hits after you’ve graduated and you’re an adult and see social interactions between people and they fail to act their age and makes you feel like you’re back in high school.
In my school days I wasn’t popular or a sports hero of any kind I stayed under the radar and was friendly with just about anyone but didn’t overstep in circles I didn’t belong in (nor did I want to belong in a specific group). For this look however I found myself wearing the “Ethan College Jacket” by ExalteD and even though it has college in its title it fits more with the high school setting as it is essentially a letterman’s jacket. The jacket only comes in sizes for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) but the advice I would give (which I rarely ever take) is to grab a demo before purchase just to be on the safe side.
Then I threw on the quickest pair of jeans that I had access too as that is the standard high school wardrobe. The Deadwool “Broberry” jeans that I have the washed pack version of works in a pinch just about every time which leads me to the final piece of the outfit puzzle….
Native Urban’s most recent sneaker release “Another 1” is a great low-top sneaker and reminiscent to a classic shoe from a brand I’m not going to speak the name of for likely legal purposes (and because it isn’t a 100% facsimile). The custom options in the fatpack are more than well worth it when you break down how many different combinations you can manage with it as well as it would offset the cost of more than one single pair if that was in consideration.
Usually I do not keep the tag visible in my photos but for fun I thought it would be something different to give a better look at an option I don’t normally show. The fact that it can be colored differently as well just raises the cool factor for virtual sneakerheads out there (I consider myself one of those but that’s not anything new).
Native Urban Another 1 Sneaker features:
- Original mesh
- Unisex
- 14 customizable parts with 17 colors (FATPACK Only)
- Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni)
- Exclusively @ Uber until November 23rd
Back in March there was an event honoring the anniversary of The Breakfast Club movie (I blogged a few items from it that I liked) but I had bought this Classroom set from Anxiety and I hadn’t found a purpose for it yet and while the original idea that I had for it was probably a little bit better I think that how I put this scene together works for the mood that I was after.
There were a lot more accessories from this set I could have (and should have) put out but I didn’t want to over clutter but I’m hearing some of my decor blogger friends scolding me a little in my mind which makes me laugh a little bit considering decor is not my world and I certainly couldn’t do it on the level many of my fellow bloggers can; I’ll stick to what I know I excel at but maybe one day way down the road I can give it a more serious try.
After my last post I realize that one of things I need to work on more is how to sign off on a blog post as I am confident mostly about how I start and the flow of things throughout the middle go well but when I get to the end I just feel that what comes out is lacking. It’s probably something I should discuss a little bit in detail with those closest with me to see if there is an easier solution because right now it is not a strong suit.
Coming up in the next blog (subject to change of course) I think I’m going to work with something from The Men’s Jail and I have a feeling it could go over well but we’ll see.
I‘m going to sign off on this post and I will be back soon for another conversation.
