[#539] All The World Is Waiting For The Sun

Rain, rain go away,
Come again another day,
All the world is waiting for the sun.

Breaking Benjamin, ♫Rain

Every blogger has their own process in how they go about taking photos and staging their sites and many can managed to churn out several posts in a day there are others who can come up with maybe two or three a week at most. I am the latter and depending on my creativity and drive my workflow varies and I think that this month in particular has been one of my most productive in some time.

With this very post I have brought to this site 100 different blog posts in just 9 months which is a few weeks ahead of last year and I am astonished with that fact and also happy for the little victories I have had so far this year including being nominated for The Bloggies. Everyone that was part of that ceremony (nominees, runners up and winners alike) have all put their own personal take on what we all do in a variety of different categories. To be among that group is something I personally cherish and look forward to the next few months and coming new year have in store for These Conversations Kill.

For this photo, I took an autumn feeling with my shot along with fall showers which are something I’m experiencing in the real world lately. Naturally it was logical for me to take a song that I’ve loved for a long time to use as the soundtrack to this blog post. Breaking Benjamin is a band that has gone through some changes over the years but they’ve constantly been in my ear and playlists and I can say that I was a fan of them before they even became nationally recognized and saw them live before their days of headlining bigger venues.

Rain (which I am using the 2005 full band version here) is a song that can really grab you and has elements from an old nursery rhyme that I’m sure many of us had sung to us as children; it has a lot of emotion that I hoped I captured here in this entry.

The beanie/hair combination I am wearing comes from Modulus and is currently available at N21 as a part of their October/November round. The textures in the beanie are very high quality and I did not have to adjust anything for it to fit on my head which is always a plus. There have been several beanie/hair combos in Modulus’ past but I feel by far this is my favorite and was released at a time when I needed something to get my rugged look to the top.

This release only has the hair flowing to the right side and there isn’t a mirror but for this I don’t feel like it is necessary; it looks good as is. The knit texture options for the beanie itself are high quality as I previously mentioned and there are a few different types through the choices you get. Customization is a big part of what Modulus does and easily shows why they are a very popular brand among males on the grid (myself included).

Modulus Sam Hat and Hair features:

  • 100% alpha nex gen hair and mesh beanie
  • Beanie HUD includes 10 color options
  • 5 color HUD options + integrated tinting in each
  • 40 color FATPACK also available
  • Exclusively @ N21 until 11/12/18

My eyes are just one of the several new eye releases from Go&See and while these are available at the Girl Power event, these are very much unisex and can be worn by anyone and they are very nicely put together. I find when I wear eyes from Go&See and can capture a nice close up shot that they make a statement for the composition of the photo.

I feel that the choice of tones are well rounded and easy to find a new favorite if deviating from the norm. The quality and work put into these is something I appreciate greatly as well. Anyone looking for something new in regards to eyes should consider giving the “Enchanted” eyes a shot because they will not disappoint.

Go&See Enchanted Eyes features:

  • 10 color styles to choose from
  • CATWA applier HUD
  • Mesh eyeballs also available
  • Exclusive to the Girl Power event until 10/30/18

For fans of Lapointe & Bastchild there is a new group gift for guys and gals (a t-shirt for him and a tied top for her). Each item has a HUD with both plain colors and graphic options which make it a great pickup for those looking for something new to wear. Keep in mind though that if you are not a part of the group already it is not a free gift. The owners have done this so that long time group members get a treat and to be fair to them but personally I feel that if group members continually get gifts like this the join cost of $350L is very much worth it and I personally look forward to future releases.

Being a group member also gives you the latest news on releases and also updates to your fave designs (either bug fixes in size fits or added options and new body sizes). I am personally glad I chose to join this group and look forward to the benefits that it will provide as I have been a fan of this brand for as long as I’ve been a resident in-world and they have been running strong for many years.

L&B Swear Group Gift T-Shirt features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • Included HUD has 8 plain colors and 22 graphic options
  • Fitted sizes for Aesthetic, Belleza (Jake), Signature (Geralt & Gianni) and SLink Physique male bodies
  • Available at L&B Swear location as a gift to group members (non-member join fee of $350L)

My final thoughts for this blog is that with this particular scene I did a few things differently as far as angles and also a secondary close-up which I hope shows as well as the thought that went into trying to capture the emotion of the soundtrack choice I’ve made. With the weather being gloomy and crisp lately I wanted to mirror that feeling even though I prefer to stick to warmer weather shots because it makes me a bit happier.

There’s less than a week to Halloween now so I’m looking to fit in a few more entries that reflect that spirit which is so much a part of me (even in a year round capacity). For those of you who do visit the site that also follow my Flickr feed, I want to say that I appreciate all the love and comments I’ve received lately that have energized me even more to create and make posts.

Please also take some time if you haven’t yet to visit I Am [SL] Amsterdam as it is one of my favorite locations to visit as well as photograph scenes. It’s a lovely place and for those of you bloggers and photographers there is a group you can join to be able to place down poses and props (just be considerate in cleaning up when you are finished!)

That is all for this installment and until our paths cross one more, onto the next conversation…
