Plan Three, ♫The Otherside♫
With less than a few days before Halloween I thought I would do somewhat of a scene that might reflect it but it’s intentions are maybe a bit outside of it; I didn’t even mean for it to be even spiritual in nature but it seems to be having that effect with the end results of what turned out as a final photo.
Upon first listen of “The Otherside” by Plan Three (who in their original lineup happened to be one of my hidden gem bands as they are mostly known overseas) I did my best to try and interpret what it meant lyrically; as of yet I haven’t been able to figure it out but there are lots of different meanings that could work especially in the virtual community such as the one I am a part of.
Truthfully we can be on the other side of a lot of things but I really think that for this it wound up being more spiritual as no one truly knows what is on the other side after our time on earth is finished. It’s honestly a heavy and deep topic that I didn’t think I’d ever really get to but in no part am I trying to make this about any one kind of religion as I tend to do my best to keep clear of that kind of thing, as well as political views as those are conversations I wouldn’t have in the real world if I could help it. Everyone has a right to feel the way they do even if it is deemed wrong on the opposite ends of the viewpoint.
Moving along as I think there is plenty to cover here especially with being on the back end of the current round of TMD (for which I have a few items from the event). I’m going to start at the top literally with my hair and it is another new release from Modulus named “Caspian” which is medium length on one side and cut shorter on the opposite side (depending on which version you choose from).
One of the ideas that Modulus’ brand owner and creator, Chucky Hollak had brought up is that with the hairs that have the left and right versions it would be best to wear the side that fits whichever angle our bodies are moving/leaning towards and I took that very much to heart as it is an idea that most of us if we hadn’t thought of it should have by now so I am grateful to him for extending that knowledge as it only helps us better our work.
As you’ll be able to see I have worn both in each shot as my body is positioned different in each photo.

My other item from TMD is the Salt + Pepper “Father Sanguine” robe in brown and this thing has a lot of cool features to tell you about. It is interactive like many of the products from this store (most commonly the clothing that becomes see-through when you go into sim water) but on a different level….a much much different level.
There is a blood stoup which is sold separately that you can collide into and the cloth of the robe becomes bloody for 90 seconds before it “dries” and disappears. If you wish for it to become clean sooner included in the package is a flask of holy water that you just add to yourself and it will take a drink and your robe will be clean again. It’s a rather imaginative way for items to be interactive which I find is something the grid needs more of so I will be keeping a closer on on this brand to release more male centric items in the future.

In my last blog entry I didn’t want to run too long and as a result I didn’t talk about the latest skin that I am wearing; I’ve decided that it would be a disservice not to properly feature the Session Skins “Ian” skin in Tone 02 that is currently a part of the latest round of the Dubai Event. The moment I saw it I grabbed a demo because it reminded me of someone and even though it it slightly darker than the tones I normally go with I felt it was the time to give this a legit shot as I love how it looks and also gives me a bit more of a maturity level that I feel is a part of who I am.
It works with both Stanley and Daniel (which I am wearing) and has an option for brows and no brows (along with two types of eyeshadow (or we’ll just call it “guyliner” as that is the term most people know. The skin does have facial hair but if you wear a bento beard as I do it doesn’t cause much of a problem truthfully.
This is one of the first skins in probably a long time that I’ve truly felt looked like myself and how I wanted to be represented on the grid. The body applier (sold in both Belleza and Signature applier HUDs) can be bought right there at the event making it easier for you and takes the pain out of having to buy the skin and then run to the store to get the body applier.

For the background and pose I combined two items from the current October round of the Pose Fair which has a few more days left before it closes it’s doors until January. The pose I am using is from the Vanity Poses “Yo” pose set which I used in a recent blog post and ILAYA’s prop “The Gate” and upon further information there are supposed to be poses included in the prop but when I tried to use it in that manner it did not allow it which something odd happened so I apologize in advance as whenever props are a part of the fair and have poses in them I make sure to use those which would have given this photo a slightly different look but it would have turned out very similar.
“The Gate” allows you to color change it so that you can have the look you want it to whether it be yellow (the color I used as it looked like it was a bit more golden to me and fit the idea) or even black, white, or pink among a few other choices. I connected the prop with an old brick wall that I had found on the marketplace that is no longer available sadly or I would have linked it in the credits as well (but I don’t believe it is mesh so defeats the purpose mostly).

As I wrap this up one thing that I am feeling lately as I’ve regained most of my creative feeling is that I’m continuing to change things up as I have been but challenging myself even a little bit harder all while not sacrificing quality over quantity because if I don’t or can’t feel it then it should get published onto the site. My skills are adapting and working to get better also because not wanting to strive for me is essentially running in place (and that never gets anyone anywhere).
Having fun though is a huge thing and I have been working hard and enjoying myself which helps stave away the feeling of it being a chore or a “have to”. I am thankful for the readers I do have and even the ones who are watching silently from all different corners of cyberspace (you are appreciated too!) Time for me to take this show on the road and get ready for at least one if not two more Halloween inspired scenes.
