[#491] The Waiting

Well yeah I might have chased a couple women around
All it ever got me was down
Then there were those that made me feel good
But never as good as I’m feeling right now
Baby you’re the only one that’s ever known how
To make me wanna live like I wanna live now

Tom Petty, ♫The Waiting

After a long holiday weekend I hope everyone is recovering from whatever they might have been doing and hope they enjoyed it along the way. I had every bit of the intention of posting this yesterday but sometimes schedules conflict with what you plan and that is very much why no one is seeing this until today and as it stands I’m not going to make it a huge write-up because there are very little pieces to my look to cover as you can see.

But what I do have for this post I think are pretty cool so let’s delve into this a bit more.

Cold-Ash has joined the ranks of other designers by releasing their first undergarments in the form of boxers which is a trend that seems to be happening a lot right now. You could almost say for the sake of this blog entry that I’m taking on the role of an underwear model…maybe. What I can say about the COLE boxers is that they aren’t egregious in the way that they don’t over enhance a certain area of the male anatomy as you tend to see on other products out on the market. Personally I don’t feel that there’s a necessity for it but everyone likes what they like and that’s great because it gives everyone an option and we can all go home happy.

There are 10 different fabric colors with fits for Belleza (Jake), Signature (Gianni), SLink Physique and TMP bodies and are not only sold separately but also in a FATPACK option which includes a HUD so that you can change between all 10 different fabrics as you please. This item is currently available only at the Ultra event but will be in the main store shortly after the event ends.

For the second time, Modulus has released a new hair for the Equal10 event. When I got my hands on “Richard”, this hair reminded me of a sans-snapback version of their “Calvin” hair but with slight differences so it would be easy to wear “Calvin” for a bit but when you are in a situation where a hat just might not fit your attire then it would be easy to wear “Richard” and have a similar style and that’s what it’s all about.

I like that this hair is just the right length and doesn’t cover the eyes because I know that in the real world having hair over my eyes bothers me and why my days of having long hair are long past. The hair is resizeable by clicking on it and you get 40 different colors distributed through 5 packs with an integrated color chooser in each HUD. This style does not have the roots pack available so I’m going with my usual browns which I feel suits me pretty well.

Equal10 runs until the 5th of June so there is plenty of time to give it a look and see what you might be able to find to take home.

Lastly for my super casual lay pose, it’s from WRONG and it is part of a set of 4 laying poses. When I see these poses I almost envision the comic book character Deadpool as I’ve seen many drawings of him stretched out in a similar manner but instead it’s just me in my boxers so don’t try to be disappointed (even though you probably are).

These poses are just one of the new releases you can find by WRONG at the Sense Event which is currently running until the first week of June. Go take a look and bring your wallets (or man purses or just purses whatever suits the reader).

It is that time again for me to wrap things up but I enjoyed taking a little detour out of my normal with the lack of clothing in this photo which is not something I’m known for but when products come my way that are as cool and well made as the Cold-Ash boxers I certainly have no objections to showing them off in the best way I possibly can. Be on the lookout for new posts with products from Go&See, NativeUrban, as well as Image Essentials. Plenty of things to work on and put my touches to.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#490] That’ll Be The Day

Well, you give me all your lovin’ and your turtle dovin’
All your hugs and kisses and your money, too
Well, you know you love me, baby
Still you tell me, maybe
That some day, well, I’ll be blue

Buddy Holly, ♫That’ll Be The Day

blog490_01

Time for a little “TBT” in this blog post (I’ve always wanted to do a Throwback Thursday) as I gather inspiration from the late 1950’s and the tunes of Buddy Holly. There were a few other songs I thought about as a soundtrack to this theme but I just couldn’t shake the feeling I got with the this song. So I ran with it and didn’t turn back.

FaMESHed is almost about to close it’s doors soon but there is still time to get there to not only get the limited edition hair from Modulus that I previously blogged but you can also lay your hands on this pretty sweet suit from David Heather. When I saw a preview add for it somewhere on social media it was clear that I wanted to blog it and I already had the background in mind with having the FOXCITY “Show Time” limited (and now extinct) backdrop that I got at a previous round of Limit8.

The whole scene just speaks about classic and a time that’s long gone and likely will never be seen again. Yes I wouldn’t trade most of the things today for anything but there is also something about that time period that was interesting and catches my eye. The music scene was certainly a different landscape than it is today but if it weren’t for artists such as Buddy Holly a lot of the music that came after him and the musicians they inspired would not molded some of today’s acts.

blog490_02

The hair I am wearing is a recent release from Modulus and is now in the Mainstore as I did not get a chance to get this idea together and posted before it transitioned but it’s new to the store and worth checking out. It is one of the last few hairs that were released with just 25 colors and maybe the brand will update some of their previous work but even if it doesn’t happen the style of this hair is really cool. I like how you can pair it with shaved sides and it looks stylish. One of the other things I like about it is that it is a slicked back style which is something I’ve always been a fan of when it came to hairs and also why it fit into the grand scheme of this pic.

The pose that I’m using is from a past Gacha from my pose maker friends at Image Essentials (a very big thank you to Kay Weston for providing me this set in hopes that I could pull something off which I did!). I couldn’t think of a better way to show a scene that was similar to capturing the magic of the Ed Sullivan show which was many many years before my time but seeing clips of episodes made an impression that I just don’t get when watching stuff like American Idol or The Voice (or any other talent/variety show out there).

All it needs to be is a man, his microphone, and his music.

This was intended to be a short blog post which means I am going to be wrapping it up and I know there wasn’t as big of a write-up for this post but with there not being that many new or recent items I felt like covering the most important things was all it needed and having given a bit of a backstory about my inspiration would do that trick and I hope it has. I feel that I’ve been long winded a lot of the times so someone reading this post may feel like they are getting a break. There is more to come as I enter the final stretch of my milestone so I urge you to check back in soon to see what my next look might be and what inspired it.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#489] With A Little Help From My Friends

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes I get by with a little help from my friends

The Beatles, ♫With A Little Help From My Friends

Anytime I get to use a song by The Beatles as the soundtrack to a post I definitely jump at the opportunity and with the latest pose from Image Essentials, this was perfect for it.

Gimme A Boost is a bento pose with tree prop where I’m trying my best at climbing a tree but have enlisted Brena’s help to give me that little extra push to get up there. Now the question is when I do get up into the tree what am I going to do there and even more importantly how am I going to get down? I’m not a fan of heights so that could prove to be a bit of an issue!

You can find this unique pose at the current round of eBento that is just at about the halfway point but you have until the 31st of May to head to the event and take a look for yourself.

The current round of FaMESHed is still going strong and I managed to dig into my haul from the event on the second trip I made to it by putting on the DUFAUX “Jordan” tanktop. I buckled and because it had FATPACK only options that is the route I went as it’s getting to be that time of year where I might utilize tanktops in my photos and this is clearly a well made product that has several features that I find to be interesting.

The straps on the tanktop have tongue closures like you might find on a fanny pack (yes I know I’m reminding people of a horrible trend that seems to be trying to snake its way back into popularity). To my knowledge I have not seen anything like this in any of the fashions that I own but it makes it different from any other tanktop that I have in my wardrobe.

One of the coolest features about the “Jordan” tanktop is that it has the ability for you to import a design and apply it to the front of the tanktop. That way if you have a blog logo or some kind of branding you want to show on the front of your tanktop then you could proudly display it for all you encounter to see. This is the second release from DUFAUX that I believe uses this and it’s definitely something I think is cool.

The Men’s Department by far is one of the staples for male fashion, accessories and furniture and probably one of my most frequently visited events. I may have said this before or I may repeat it again in the future but that is only because it is the truth and one of the sources to help me find new brands to add to my arsenal or keep up with brands that I love.

During this round of TMD my friends at Modulus released a new hair that I instantly knew would be just right for the look I was putting together. “Danny” is the latest in the Alpha Hair line from the brand and it gives me a real chill vibe which is what I wanted my look to portray and for the second time I am using the “Roots” HUD which is one of the new features that was recently added to Modulus products.

I have been a part of the Modulus blogger team for a long time, since the beginning I’d say and one thing that I can say as an observer of things is that the quality has always been top notch but the fact that it continues to get better with each passing moment is a testament to the fact that when it comes to releasing products you are getting the very best out of anything Modulus releases no matter if it is hair, skins or once in a while clothing (which it’s been a long time since a clothing item has been but never say never about them returning).

As I wrap this up I definitely want to express that I really enjoyed putting this scene together as it was light, funny, and humorous. I never know what is going to inspire me at a split second’s notice and I start snapping photos and the range of feelings and emotions vary on these pages and that is something that onlookers will come to know from my work. Though I certainly enjoy hearing about putting smiles on people’s faces or knowing that something I might have written or a photo itself has given someone a topic of conversation. Anyone who may be observing and would like to have a conversation feel free to contact me because I’d really enjoy hearing from you.

It’s been a pleasure once more and until our paths cross again,

[#488] The Nights

Once upon a younger year,
When all our shadows disappeared,
The animals inside came out to play.
Went face to face with all our fears,
Learned our lessons through the tears,
Made memories we knew would never fade.

Avicii, ♫The Nights

While I may not be the most knowledgeable about the life and music of Avicii, I do know that whenever a someone from the music community passes away it has a profound affect on those whose listen and feel their work. I’ve been an audiophile for most of my life and there have been many brilliant lights that have dimmed for a variety of reasons and the effect of their loss is very profound even if we as fans had never had any real correspondence with them.

They all sting and they all hurt.

Lately I’ve been taking a listen to Avicii’s work and the genre is not a specific favorite I can see why he had so many fans because you could feel the passion in what he did and the theme I chose for this post was something I took a deeper look into and the words in it which really get you to think on a higher level. It was a tragic end to a dream come true for someone so skilled and talented at what he did and on behalf of your fans I thank you for your contributions and for having been able to share the universe with you.

At Uber, Native Urban released a jacket in memory of Tim Bergling (Avicii) and I think it is a fitting and fantastic product that I definitely have enjoyed wearing. The “Bergling” Jacket comes with quite a few options such as 12 different colors of leather and the included t-shirt has 10 different color options including an graphic tee with an excerpt from “The Nights” which serves as the soundtrack to this post and I suggest if you have not heard this song to click the link and give it a listen with an open mind and an open heart.

You will find the “Bergling” Jacket has sizes to fit Belleza, Signature (Gianni), and SLink Physique male mesh bodies.

The pants I am wearing can also be found at the Uber event and are from the Lenox store which I’ve featured a time or two in previous blogs. I enjoy their work and most of the time when they have a new release that I like I tend to always buy the FATPACK because I know I will use more than one option than what I bought it for at the time.

The “Moto Jeans” come in 6 leather types and are sold both as single pairs or as a FATPACK that includes all the colors. As you can see I am wearing the black version of the pants because I felt that is what worked best with the type of leather I chose to wear on the jacket. These leather pants come fitted for Belleza (Jake), Nyramith (Aesthetic), and Signature (Gianni) male bodies.

Uber runs until the 21st of May so you still have just under a week to go check it out. The “Bergling” Jacket will move to the Native Urban main location and marketplace on the 22nd of May in case you miss out on the event.

The hairstyle that I am sporting comes from one of my longest standing blog partners, Modulus, and this is one that you will not want to miss.

The “Shawn” hair is currently available at FaMESHed but there is a catch, it is a limited edition so once the event ends you will not see this product again ever. It will not be sold on the marketplace or in their store. This hair is the first to also introduce new hair tones which have gone from 25 to a whopping 40 in all which gives you that much more flexibility when it comes to getting that right color for your style. What is also new about this release is it debuts the “roots” color pack which I am using in this blog entry and is only available for this release that raises the total to 48 hair tones in 6 HUD appliers with integrated tinting.

Future releases of Modulus hair will include the three extra hair tones which raises it from 5 to 8 in each hair coloring HUD. Just when you thought you were getting the best out of this brand they continue to up the anti and that is cause for some excitement. I also have heard rumblings of there being a new HUD that will allow alternate styling which if is true will really make them even more of a juggernaut in the hair market.

FaMESHed runs through May 27th so there is plenty of time to grab this one of a kind Modulus hair and I strongly encourage you to do so!

I think that while I am at a good point I am going to wrap this blog post up so I can start work on the next idea but before I do I want to make a mention that for the second straight blog I am using a pose created by WRONG. Seems that lately I have been finding a lot of uses for them and I enjoy using them as part of my posing repertoire. I also found myself photographing with one of the scenes at the very nicely put together Whole Wheat sim, which if you haven’t visited as a photographer you should. There are many great scenes which you could interpret your works and joining their group not only gives you the ability to rez out extra items (make sure to clean up afterwards!) but there are also group gifts to be had.

Once again I thank you for checking in on the blog and look forward to bringing my next visual and until our paths cross again,

[#487] Wrong…

I was marching to the wrong drum
With the wrong scum
Pissing out the wrong energy
Using all the wrong lines
And the wrong signs
With the wrong intensity

Depeche Mode, ♫WRONG

Most of you probably have no idea how long since I’ve been blogging items from the pose store, WRONG, that I’ve wanted to use this Depeche Mode song as the theme for a photo and today was that opportunity so I grabbed the ball and ran with it!

Truly this brand has really great male poses and they’ve done some fantastic collabs with The Owl that I’ve also featured in photos not only by myself but with guests as well and there is so much care that goes into these poses and I am rather glad that they’ve helped contribute to my visual creations and certainly encourage you to check out their new store location that has recently open and find out for yourself.

Now that I’ve gotten that thought out of my head there’s plenty of great things I’m wearing that helped make this photo possible and most of the time I save the best for last but I am going to work from head to toe and start off with my my hair which is called “Mason” and is from my friends at Modulus. This release is a longer length hair (just past the ear/neck) which I’m always a fan of and a lot of the time you don’t see that with guys hairs, they are usually more of an above the ear length and swept to one particular side.

Of course I’m using the HUD with the brown tones in it because that’s just been the mood I’ve gone with as you usually see blonde hair or black so I tend to go middle of the road. I definitely do not see myself as a red/ginger type guy though I have thrown that in a time or two when the direction of my photo needed it. There’s 5 different shades in the pack which make up part of the 25 hair colors the hair comes with; they are also all available in a convenient FATPACK option which includes all 5 color HUDS and each of them provides an additional integrated color picker so that you can give additional color tinting to your hair.

You can find this hair at the main store which I’ve provided transportation to in the credits below!

Men Only Monthly is halfway through its current cycle and the shirt I am wearing by {FE Style} is currently available at the event right now. The “RUDEKEM” t-shirt comes in 10 different graphic designs and also has 8 solid colors to choose from which you can purchase separately or altogether with a money saving FATPACK. As much as I love this shirt and most of the styles offered I had to make a decision based on budget and I chose to go with the graphic shirt that has “Mr. Chaos” on the front of it and this was before I ever chose any of the rest of the outfit or my setting but it seems pretty fitting in hindsight.

Men Only Monthly runs up through the 15th of May before they close for restocking their shelves with new products.

Cold-Ash is back with brand new footwear for a second straight TMD release! This time it comes in the form of boots (the Valkyrie sneakers that I enjoy so much were last months release). These work style boots come with the option of the full version or a half version which fits under pant legs (and is how I’m dislplaying them in this look). The WOODCREEK boots have 8 color options to choose from and have sizes to fit Belleza, Signature (Gianni), and TMP with an Unrigged size for classic avatars included for good measure.

The Men’s Department is open until the 31st of May so there’s still a LOT of time for you to head over there and check these boots out and browse through other equally as good designers and their products.

Another blog post is in the books and as I wrap this up I continue to look at the number of each post knowing that I am drawing closer to a goal I never thought or expected I would get to… 500 posts. I’ve definitely learned a lot since I made my first blog entry back in 2014 and continue to learn and grow with each passing day and photo I take. The one thing about blogging and artistry is that it is not always everyone’s cup of tea and for every 1 or 2 people that dislike something there may be twice as many that like it or vice versa. Trying to please everyone is not something that works and trying to do it is only a fools mission. Enjoy what you do because if others see the pride that you take in yourself it might just be infectious enough to spread around.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#486] And What Of My Soul?

All those things that you couldn’t say
You should’ve said
All those I-love-you’s lost
Weighed more like lead on your chest

Atreyu, ♫The Remembrance Ballad

WOW, it has been some time since I’ve done a “fantasy” type blog post.

Pulling this together took more than I want to go over the details of considering that there were several outfit changes (not by me personally but for Brena) to make this come to life (or is that unlife?) Image Essentials released a group of different poses that focused on vampires and this is a topic I’ve always been interested in that began when I was much younger than I am today.

Whether it is books, movies, or even rpg’s or video games that have to do with these creatures, be sure that I’m all in (though I’m not the biggest fan of Twilight because vampires do not sparkle…sorry!) It even reminds me of something some of you in-world might have heard of called Bloodlines. When I first started out my virtual journey I remember the game/rp and I entertained the idea of getting involved with it but the more research I did, the more I found out what a blatant money soak it was and for me there wasn’t enough of a TRUE role-play experience for me so I took a pass on it. I come from a very extensive RP background well before my time in this virtual world and felt that I would be selling out to something I felt was against what I stood for creatively.

There are some of you that might have played it (or still do if it is still a thing) and if I have offended you then I apologize sincerely but I do not feel like there is anything wrong with having a difference in opinion.

During the process of staging the photo and getting everything prepared it helped that several products other than the “Bloodlust” bento 2 person pose by Image Essentials. Go&See’s latest skin “Theo” is also available at Men Only Monthly and let me tell you when it comes to skins that allow an avatar to look gothic or vampiric, Kristyna Wikifoo does the best job. I’ve used the “Goth” tone of skins by Go&See for several photos and they’ve all come out the way I’ve wanted. With the way the lighting came together I certainly have the undead creature of the night down pat.

Besides the Goth applier (which includes two HUDs for both CATWA and OMEGA), the skin is also available in Pale. Summer, Tan and Dark Tan and feature options for brows/no brows as well as facial hair options mixed in. The body skins are sold separately for OMEGA compatible bodies and only work with the latest versions of Go&See products.

Men Only Monthly runs from the 20th of April until the 15th of May so there is still plenty of time to check it out.

FaMESHed is also back again and for those of you fortunate enough to have been able to make it in there you’ve seen plenty of new fashion, accessories, and decoration. It was a fruitful trip for both myself and Brena as we both found new items to use in our wardrobes as you are about to find out in a moment. The event is celebrating it’s 6th anniversary which seems CRAZY to think it has been that long since the very first event took place. Even before I started blogging I still was very much into all sorts of things like furniture that I could find at the event so it’s really great to see it still going strong with so much support.

Once again I’ve been hit by the Deadwool bug. Their latest item at FaMESHed is the “Lorenzo” shirt which is a half buttoned tucked in shirt that gives you the option to wear it with or without an undershirt both of which can be colored by HUD if you’ve purchased the FATPACK (which is the only real way for me despite the elevated cost). If the FATPACK is just a little bit out of your limit there are three different packs (Light, Medium, and Dark) that you can certainly get your fill if there’s a certain grouping of colors you can’t live without. I do see myself wearing this shirt in different stylings over time so it validated my choice of going all the way and getting the FATPACK.

Finding the right dress that really worked with the theme was definitely a challenge for me to get Brena ready but while I was at the FaMESHed I came across the “Embroidered Strap Bodycon Dress” by Rebel Gal. I chose the wine color because it matched the red highlights in her hair and so I coordinated her dress to that and it worked out perfectly. The dress has two faces to it (the shirt and the dress itself) and an included HUD allows for you to change the color of the top with a variety of different options so that you won’t have to worry about it being stale after a while for those of you who like to wear things more than once (and I hope you would otherwise it would be a gross misuse of funds).

With my last new piece of my look (to which I am slightly behind but am going to be caught up with very soon and humbly apologize) I have a very recent hair release from Modulus which is named “Mateo”. It’s a short length hair that I personally think would work best with a shaved base but you can still go with a normal base if you are not truly a fan of the shaved style.

As with previously releases there are 25 different colors divided into 5 HUDS (all 5 are available in a FATPACK to save you some dough) and each one has an integrated color tinting section to give you unlimited options. This item can be found at the Modulus store as well as online at their marketplace location both of which you will have access to down in the credits below.

This was definitely quite the enjoyable challenge but for now it is time for me to wrap this up so I can begin to stage my next photo/look as there’s always plenty to wear and feature; I’m looking forward to seeing what turns up next and what location or backdrop (whichever the case might be) becomes the next visual. Hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend and until our paths cross again,

Onto the next conversation…

[#485] I Hope You’re Somewhere Praying

I hope you’re somewhere praying, praying
I hope your soul is changing, changing
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, praying

Kesha, ♫Praying

Recently I was given a name and a taxi to a location by a friend who had used it in one of their photos because I wanted to see what I could do with it myself. That’s one of the great things about photographers, they can come up with their own vision using something that might have already been photographed but done in a different way.

2elwe is an interesting location and very good for mood; it’s what I would consider to be post-apocalyptic based on the fact that it is desolate and rainy. When I roamed around and found my exact spot. The direction I thought I could take this was maybe a bit of a prequel/sequel to my blog entry “After The Storm” with the rain being so far away. A way to look at it is the story could go from being in the middle of the storm and traveling to finally get out of it.

The last time I posted I shared that I have become a partner with the Native Urban brand, which I am happy to be a part of their blogging family. There are so many great and different styles of clothing and accessories to choose from and the quality is excellent. I remember the first time that I encountered products from them was at the SWANK event. I stopped right away when I came to their booth and knew that I had never seen them before but I liked what I saw and instantly made a purchase.

For my first blog post to feature them as a blogger for their brand, I am wearing the limited edition version of the Anjuna Sweater from the Limit8 event. I really love the style of this product and I’m going to refer to it as a hoodie because that’s what it is to me. I’m wearing the Belleza Jake version which comes in two different “sizes”. There is a version with a more open hood for people who want to wear hair with it and a closer version like I have on for those who choose not to. One of the things I like best is the varying lengths of the sleeves as most items you see are always the same length which makes this a bit more unique in design. For non Belleza body owners this also comes with sizes for Signature (Gianni) and SLink Physique mesh bodies.

Only 100 copies of this are being sold and it is still available but you need to act fast because once they are gone, they are gone forever. The Limit8 event runs until the 13th of May but you may not want to wait until the last minute because this great item will be gone.

Given the location I was photographing at and the main item of my look was the Anjuna Sweater, I figured that I would go with a bit of an urban look mixed with a bit of nerd (I’m all about fusion…well maybe). Jeans are always something I’m looking at when I am out shopping and there are always a lot of different options and styles of denim that make it hard to decline.

During the April round of The Men’s Department I grabbed the FATPACK of the “Loose Straight” jeans by ::K:: (by Kitt Ragu). I love the look of these and having the option of wearing (or not wearing) a belt is a cool option. A lot of the times with jeans you don’t get a choice of being able to add or subtract the belt and it is harder to pair it with things for fear of clipping into one another (which is a pain as I’m sure anyone who has ever been a blogger/photographer can attest to). The FATPACK includes 6 different denim colors that fit Belleza, Signature (Geralt & Gianni versions) and also SLink Physique mesh bodies.

You can pick these up at the mainstore and if you are a jeans collector like myself, you’ll want to go take a look at these.

As I wrap this up I have some really good ideas (or what I think to be at least) for some photos in the next little while so stay tuned for cool fashion, hair, and poses from my favorite brands such Cold-Ash, Native Urban, Modulus and Image Essentials. Also throw some things in from events like Kustom9, Men Only Monthly, and The Men’s Dept (which opens Saturday the 5th!).

Until the next time our paths cross, onto the next conversation…
