[#451] Fly Like An Eagle

Feed the babies
Who don’t have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the people
Livin’ in the street
Oh, oh, there’s a solution

β™«Fly Like An Eagleβ™« – The Steve Miller Band

Most of the free sports loving world was glued to their televisions and sitting at the edge of their seats on Sunday evening during the NFL’s 52nd Super Bowl. While I profess I am not from or a hard core fan of either team (in fact New England is one of my least favorites), I can appreciate a well contested game. The Philadelphia fans have waited so very long for their team to bring home a championship which they have come close to on a few occasions. Finally on the 4th of February they secured the Lombardi Trophy for the “City of Brotherly Love”.

One of the things I like about sports is seeing a team who is considered a long-shot that has overcome the odds. Through injuries to key players that could have crippled any team, the Eagles persevered and a man who once was their future at Quarterback but found himself passed around other teams (when the team gave up on him in favor of a younger up and comer) found his way back and made not only his dreams, his teammates dreams, and the dreams of a city that eats, sleeps, and breathes their sports teams come true.

That is why I’m dedicating this blog entry to them.

The putting together of this scene and look came fairly easy with bits and pieces here and there. I found some private land near my home that belongs to a friend of mine and used their cliffs to stand upon while I found myself entertaining a majestic bird.

A few things about my look before I get to the credits is that I am wearing the latest group gift from the etham brand. It’s a sweatshirt in which you are getting the fatpack just for being a member of the group. As far as group gifts go there’s not much better then receiving a full product just as a thanks which I am quite okay with.

Once again for a second straight blog in a row I am wearing the ::K:: Soft Cargo Pants in the Olive color which works perfectly with how I chose to wear the sweatshirt. I’ve also got my eye on some of the new products that Kitt has released at the freshly open February round of TMD so keep an eye out for future posts as you just might see them in one of my looks.

On of the main features for this blog which you will get a closer look at in the image below is the newest face in the M-Bare line from Modulus. This new CATWA exclusive release comes with an applier HUD that allows you to apply just the face itself or with brows (as well as an optional beard which I did not add for this blog). It comes in Fair, Rose, Latte, Caramel or Chestnut and a fatpack is also available if you like more than one skin tone and would like to save a little extra spending money (to hit up those latest events).

Lastly my hair is one of the latest additions to the Taketomi Club which is a combination of both the Taketomi and Burley brands. For those of you who might not have read one of my previous blogs about this club I’ll be happy to tell you about it again. You join the Taketomi Club group in-world for a small fee and they release 2-3 hairs from one or the other of their brands and you can get an entire fatpack for 50L for the first two weeks of it’s release. Once it is “retired” they put it on the wall and the fatpacks are sold for 450L a piece.

For such a small fee and excellent prices this is definitely a great way to get your hair fix. Currently though the majority of releases to the club are female oriented but the male releases that are out are ones that you may not want to miss out on.

As I wrap this up I will give you a hint of what is to come to the pages of These Conversations Kill. I’ll be featuring new items from the Hipster Men’s Event as well as the newly opened TMD (as I previously mentioned). Brands you will likely see will include Modulus, Image Essentials, {Cold-Ash}, [Gild], Go&See just to name a few as there are likely more that I might find while I’m shopping so I can’t give every detail away.

My work as a blogger is never done so time for me to get back to it and get ready a to shoot and post a new entry.

Onto the next conversation…

HAIR: BURLEY – Thor – Fatpack ✦ NEW ✦ π”—π”žπ”¨π”’π”±π”¬π”ͺ𝔦 β„π”©π”²π”Ÿ

While it is nice having a full assortment of hair colors to choose from one thing I can say is sometimes it can be too much. I decided to go a route that normally I do not take with most hairs and that is with this Burley product I selected the Dips HUD which has a lot of different options to it of base hair with colored streaks/ends. As I debated over the different ones I decided to go with a darker color base hair and green highlights to match the rest of the theme that I was going for. Perhaps I’ll go down this path again sometime in the future when a look requires something with just a little extra kick.

FACE: Modulus – Richard Skin ✦ NEW

Earlier in this blog I gave you a little bit of information about this latest skin from Modulus and in addition to that you also get an eyebrow shaper as well as a body shape to give you an idea of how it’s intended to look. Of course if you decide to be creative with it or you have a shape of your own that works there’s nothing wrong with that.

To me Richards face looks to be a bit hardened and mature which helps balance out the market between younger looking and more aged faces. While he may be cooler than ice you might not want to cross his path after a hard day if you catch my drift; I also think his features definitely do remind me of someone that might live on the east coast of the US.

SWEATSHIRT: etham – Scotty Sweater – All Colors ✦ NEW ✦ π”Šπ”―π”¬π”²π” π”Šπ”¦π”£π”±

When a group gift is available and comes in the form of a fatpack it definitely has added value because at some point in the future they may add it to their regular stock and if you didn’t grab it when it was a gift you might kick yourself. This sweatshirt features a HUD which you can color the top and bottom halves of with the assortment of colors provided (12 in all) and you can do mix/match any color combination or keep the entire sweatshirt uniform. Something to consider picking up while it is still available at the main location.

SHOES: [VALE KOER] USAGI TRAINERS – FATPACK

These have been stowed away in my inventory for a while after I purchased them at an event (which at this time I cannot remember exactly what one). Usually when it comes to the Vale Koer brand I go out all because I know that I’m going to get plenty of use and also customization out of their fatpacks. One of the only things that I would change about this is the ability to be able to customize what looks to be a striped part of the show which is all a part of one section. I think it would make them even more versatile but at this rate with as many different combinations you can have with what is already possible there is not that big of a complaint.

YKZ4.- Man & Eagle

It just so happened that I was originally looking for a pose where I would be flapping my wings but on my search of the Marketplace I came across this well thought of pose and figured it would make my idea even better if I went with this instead. There are two poses included as well as two mesh eagle birds that correspond with each pose and for anyone who may do medieval pictures this could work for your compositions as well.
