Some fun was in order for this look as I busted out my time machine and took a trip back to the 90’s and some old school hip hop. During this time one of the hotter acts was Coolio, who is best known for his song “Gangster’s Paradise” which I used the cover version of for one of my blog entries during the early stages of blogging when I was running under “The Saints Of Fashion{ation}”. This blogs soundtrack takes a look at one of his first songs that I remember seeing on MTV quite a few times after I’d come home from school with the free time I had before hitting the homework.

With the heaviness of my last blog, I thought it would be more fun to try and get into a groove while reminiscing about some of the music (not just rock) that was a part of a time that was most critical to me in an influential stage in life. During the time that Coolio was on the airwaves movies like “Lean On Me” and “Boyz In The Hood” were bringing to light what being on the streets were like.

As part of my look I once again am wearing the “Harper” hair from Modulus because I like it that much; it’s something that I enjoy wearing even when I am not in blogging mode so it’s possible that you will see it again in the future in other blog posts. However, there are newer styles coming out (some that are out now as well) that I’ll be featuring. Modulus has found their stride and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.

Go&See is also participating in this current round of Men Only Monthly with their “Firm” pose set. As one of my brand partners I was able to obtain a review copy and I’m pleased with the poses in this set. One thing I can say is that with joining the pose genre, I hope that Kristyna doesn’t abandon doing eyes or skins because she does a good job with them as well.

There is a lot of mixing and matching of things in style of this blog. Sometimes I find things that have been laying around in my closet (inventory to be technical) and feel bad that I have not used them yet or if it is something I really like then I feel bad that I haven’t revisited it in some time. One of those items are the shades that I’m wearing from 7mad;Ravens that is from the Men Only Hunt 6…yes I know you are thinking “WOW he really does have some classics in his closet”.

Man Cave is on the last day of it’s current January round and I decided to get one last item in from it so that if you like it you can make a mad dash for the event and grab it up before it’s closed and then you’ve got to wait until the brand puts it in their store (IF they even release it at their store and doesn’t make it an event only item). ExalteD has some interesting shirts (including the flannel I’m wearing) and some pants (I picked up a pair but I won’t be able to get to them before the event closes sadly). More on the shirt in the credits below.

Upcoming projects for the blog are something that I’m seriously excited about. There will be collaborations with some people that I truly like and admire for the work that they do and hope that our time working together will reflect that; more than likely there will be a few more blogs that I have my wife help me with as I couldn’t really do the idea without her.

There are also some funny ideas I have in the works just so I can kind of keep up with the reason I was nominated for “Best Humorous Blog” at The Bloggies. Not everything I do is serious as is not everything I do comical…I do like to try and balance things out as best I can but sometimes mood or the influence of whatever music I might be listen to at the time tends to steer me in certain directions.

It’s about that time to wrap things up again but this blog is going to continue striving with each post to not only provide information but quality images.

Flannel has always been one of my favorite types of shirt dating way back to the time that the song featured in this blog post was new. I feel that it really is a fashion that can’t really go out of style because it represents so many different trends. ExalteD did a spectacular job with making this product and it comes in not only flannel styles but also other types such as Camo. It is only available until tonight when the Man Cave event closes its doors to get ready for it’s February round so take a quick run and see it for yourself and the other great things to purchase at the event.

JEANS: mind carlberg – Tight Jeans – RUINED Pack

While these jeans are not quite able to be called a “new” release, they were a part of the round of Men Only just before the one we have now so they are a recent release. Sold individually, packs of 3, or in a FATPACK (these I bought the specific pack instead of all of them due to budget). The “RUINED” pack contains three different destroyed denim choices (rain, rust or rubber).

Previously I’ve worn the low top version of this show by the same brand (which I love to death) and I bought this when they first came out but it was hard pairing them with anything so I kept them safe until I could use them and I found the right pair of jeans to put them with. This style which is patterned after a very popular skater shoe is just the kind of thing I like wearing in-world.

This particular version of the backdrop is no longer purchasable as it was from a round of Limit8 and once the designated amount of poses was sold it would no longer be. The store may carry the other version of the backdrop which is well worth the look as it is highly detailed and has more than one spot where you can set up a shot and get a great scene capture.

DOG: AMITIE Doberman (No Anim/Collar)

I plucked this furry friend (or is he unfriendly?) from a pose set that includes other versions that go with each pose. This little guy was an extra piece that doesn’t have any animations or poses so I could set him out to be in the background. As much as I don’t like to point out my mistakes of flaws I think I missed some of the rear part of his body which is something I’ll keep in mind for future photo shoots and items in the background.

Go&See * Firm * ✦ NEW @ M.O.M

It’s the halfway point in this current round of Men Only Monthly and as my first item to blog from it is the review copy of Go&See’s “FIrm” pose set. There are 10 poses to choose from that are bento enabled so if you do not have a body with bento it will not show up properly. The poses in the set are well done and have a variety of different hand gestures (which is something I like to see compared to the old type poses were you were limited to what your hands did).

After the fun I had with the last blog I’m back to a more serious tone for these scene. Many people suffer from depression and it can come in all shapes and sizes and degrees; it doesn’t discriminate based on gender or nationality or if you are young or aged. The people that fall under this category may go UN-diagnosed or lack the ability to pay for any kind of treatment due to lack of insurance or their insurance not covering what is needed to get better.

Getting help is not an easy thing but if anyone that might be reading this is either suffering from or know someone who is….there are people to talk to and are willing to listen. It’s easier said than done but getting things off your chest or your mind could really make a huge difference in fighting some of the demons that might be pulling you down.

After hearing the song I chose as the soundtrack for this blog post and doing a little research on it I felt compelled to kind of build upon the feeling of being isolated and that everything seems to be falling apart at all the wrong times. The feeling of wanting to get away from everyone and everything seems to be one of the many parts associated with this disease.

Loss of interest in things that are normally enjoyed, not wanting to leave the home (or apartment), it takes a toll not only physically but mentally. I feel like I may be going on like a broken record because most of this is commonly known but not everyone including myself knows everything about how the brain functions and bringing awareness with the reason of wanting to help people is one of my goals being that anyone could stumble upon this at any given time.

Long hair is something of a personal preference when it comes to my avatar. It’s one thing that I’ve wanted to retain from my real life younger adult years and in the virtual world it is maintenance free. I don’t have to worry about it growing or getting stuck in the shower drain and I can choose to color it just about any tone I like.

“Harper” is one of the first long hair unisex version from Modulus and their M-Cuts division (which is also considered Alpha Hair as a part of the brands new era of products). I’ll say more about this below otherwise I’ll get way too wordy in this space and have nothing to write about in the style credits. However, I can tell you that I really enjoy this style and could easily be one I go back to plenty of times in the future.

The Man Cave event has been one that I have been bringing home a lot of products from in this current round. Once more I’ve found myself wearing the “Neil” sneakers from EQUAL because they seemingly go with just about any look I’ve put together lately and with owning the FATPACK and being able to change colors and parts the combinations are nearly endless.

As I wait for the next new product release from {COLD-ASH}, I came back to an old friend as the “RILEY Straight Jeans” have been updated to fit the Belleza body. One thing I can say is that I really love when creators see items that stand the test of time and get and updated treatment to new mesh bodies and such. Jeans are one of those things that just about everyone wears but when your favorite ones fail to match the current body you are wearing they tend to get pushed to the back of your closet (and your mind).

I know this blog entry was a little heavy in tone and I hope my next one isn’t as much. Hopefully I can put together something fun and there are a few things that I have in mind but we shall see how easy they are to pull off.

Maybe it is cliche but personally I don’t care, I hope that everyone takes care and is kind to others.

When you have an idea in your head that you want to make as close to what you envision as possible, you tend to wait until the absolute right time to put it all together and that is what I did with this blog entry. I could have waited to do it when it was a significant post number or a special occasion but with all the pieces I needed to create what I saw in my mind, the time was at hand to unleash it.

I’ve done several space themed entries before with a song by the band Starset as its soundtrack. Once again I have gone that direction as this particular song has been one that I wanted to for a very long time (I keep notes about things I want to do and I have had it in my notes for ages). While the band has their own concept through their songs and albums, I didn’t want to copy their ideas and wanted to come up with a story of sorts to back the photos up on my own.

While I wanted to keep the intergalactic theme for the series of photos, I also didn’t want to do anything with Star Wars or Star Trek. In my head I thought maybe more along the lines of the video game, Halo, but maybe not set in a world where humans are fighting aliens.

In my head I thought it would be more like different colonies of humans (the world became overpopulated and so mankind sought out the stars to find sustainable places for life) are at war with one another. The protagonist in this story is a soldier who during one of the battles is fighting alongside the love of his life and she is wounded and he is fighting to get her to where she can receive medical aid.

As the story would progress our soldier manages to escape the battle and get his love to a medical station on a moon base where she is being attended to in the picture above. For this I used the RARE Body Scanner item from the “Experimental” gacha set from Disorderly which is a part of the current round of The Epiphany. I used several other items from this set but unfortunately those photos did not make it to this blog entry as I had taken many photos from different angles and chose the best ones to use.

The outfits that myself and Rosalie are wearing are from the Shu Mesh store (which I’ve used for my other space posts). I really like the detail that their products have and the reason why I went back to them to put together looks for this post.

With the other photos used here it’s not as easy to see the hair and eyes that the protagonist is wearing which is why I am including this close-up (as I do with all new featured hair and eye products). The eyes themselves are key because they were the beginning of what prompted me to start working on this entry. Go&See released the “Galaxy” eyes for The Season’s Story winter edition. It was hard to decide on which color eyes to use because they were all so beautiful to look at.

Once again I’m wearing one of the latest Modulus Alpha Hair releases named “Tommy”. I really thought this worked well for a soldier or military style haircut and envisioned this could very well be what they wear in the future.

This hair is currently available only at the Man Cave event.

Normally I don’t show close-ups when I have guests blog with me but this blog post feels a little different and extra special so I’ve included a closer look at Rosalie’s face and eyes. I stylized the left part of the photo to show that not every story has a fairytale ending. In the future of the world this post is set in the love of the protagonist suffers mortal injuries and succumbs to them (the part of which “dark on me” means to me in this case).

I had this thought that in that particular world when someone passes their life force diminishes and they turn ashen (a lot like Optimus Prime did in the animated Transformers movie from 1985). This depicts her body starting to change as her essence leaves her body. It seems like such a wild concept but I thought it was rather cool and could be something I actually write about when I get a wild hair.

As I move to wrap this up, I want to thank Rosalie again for helping me put together a fun photo session that turned out better than I even hoped. She ran with the idea I was going with and put together a look that along with the armor she wore, gelled about as perfect as you could possibly get. The hair and eyes as well as the makeup fit the thoughts I head swirling around in my brain.

Also I would like to thank Lucie Bluebird-Lexington for providing me some space (no pun intended) along with the dome with the out of this world sky; I could not have put this together as close to my particular vision without those little details.

I look forward to the next adventure that I embark upon but I want to live in the moment of this one for a little bit before I push forward.

This hair reminds me a little bit of a style that you would find in the Roman Empire time period. It’s short with a little length hanging in the front just above the eyes. This futuristic armor is awesome (at least in my mind it is) and has several different features that make it a great addition for any cosplay or role-playing event. The helmet fit perfectly without me having to do any adjusting to it (with my hair on as well). The included HUD allows you to change different color parts of the suit as well as different features on the helmet.

Please note that I am also using an Add-On HUD that is purchasable at the store to give the armor it’s battle damaged appearance.

This item was not only hard to obtain (because it was likely because I wanted it so badly haha) but it was a crucial piece of the story. The best view of it is in the second photo above and in the close up shot of Rosalie. The perfect pose for the story shot where the protagonist is carrying his fallen love off of the battlefield in order to get medical aid. I had seen this in another bloggers work and did not realize that I already had it in my unused arsenal of poses. With one of the biggest (American) football games coming up in nearly two weeks, I thought I’d do something a little fun in honor of that. Seeing as how I have several decades of music knowledge to go on and the 90’s were essentially where my complete love of music was born I thought I’d take a little gem from that time frame and use it as the theme for this entry.

While I already had my look already figured out, it was more of a challenge of what I was going to do to surround myself with the atmosphere of what one might consider a “jock” culture which if I’m not mistaken is still a thing today. Football players are highly regarded and sought after within their respective classes and adored by cheerleaders and other girls alike.

It was either going to be that I looked around to find bits and pieces to make a build myself which I am self-assured is not my forte…or I could try to find a backdrop that would befit my vision. All it really took was a quick trip onto the marketplace where I found the awesome locker room backdrop from RAMVII (which I admit was perfect for what I had rattling around in my head). The finishing touches were the football helmet from Tartessos Arts and the football that you see which is from a pose set from NANTRA’S “Touchdown” pack (which I will link for you because I did not credit it due to it being a part of a set I did not use in this blog post).

After I put this look together and was had my song choice picked my wife thought I was going with a basketball theme because of the track suit; I explained to her what I was doing and she said I looked more like a basketball player. While that may be true I distinctly remember during my time in school that all the football players wore track suits during the school assemblies.

Regardless of whichever one of us is right I may have to purchase this outfit in another color and do a basketball pic just for the fun of it.

Image Essentials has released a new pose set called “Lightbulb Moment” and while it is intended for use by the ladies, I managed to make it work using some out of the box thinking as I’ve been known to employ from time to time. This pose set is available at the Designer Circle event through the 3rd of February.

For the second consecutive entry I am featuring a product from Modulus but this time it is the latest skin in the M-Bare line that is a mainstore release. “McMillan” is his name and he appears to be a confident fella as I’ve portrayed him in these photos. I’ll talk more about this guy down in the credits so I don’t run out of things to say.

I feel like I did a fairly good job of putting a look together to capture the essence of “Johnny Football Hero” as the lyrics in the song suggest. One of the things that I try to do more than anything is to make my avatar look and feel the part of whatever vision my brain comes up with for me to conceptualize.

Within the next blog entry or so I am going to be featuring Modulus, Go&See and some items from The Epiphany event which I’m looking super forward to and hope that the final touches are exactly what I thought up in my head. The next adventure is just up ahead and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes me.

I picked up the Fifty Linden Friday version of this hair with a mix of colors combined (like a smaller version of a variety pack). There are several color packs to choose from as well as a variety and FATPACK for those who tend to wear several colors of hair and want to stick to one hairstyle for a while. Now known as just Wasabi (previously known as Wasabi Pills), I feel as though I was not as thrilled with this purchase as I originally thought but is at least worth the price I purchased it for during FLF. With that said, what is not as good for one may be better for another and I do not want dissuade anyone from trying it out for themselves before making their decision.

Track jackets have been a part of sports culture for as long as I can remember and it’s trickled down to what most guys wear to relax or go to the gym in (for those who work out). The track jacket comes with an attachable shirt with a HUD that can change the color/texture of the shirt. I find this to be very fashionable and could even be paired with jeans if you are not feeling quite like putting the whole track suit look together.

I really love the quality of these pants and as a fan of track pants because of their comfort when you don’t want to be in adult mode, these are just what any man could ask for as far as chill apparel goes.

These shoes appear for the second straight entry as I felt that they were perfect for this look as they are sporty type shoes. I just colored them appropriately to match the colors of the track suit.

With a little bit of editing (I removed the attached football in favor of the one that you see as well as the shadow) this helmet comes with two options. Inside is a helmet you can wear or the one that I used that you can place out for decoration (and is modifiable). The decoration helmet has a resize feature as well as several color textures so that you it will fit the type of decor you have in your home or man cave (no pun intended!)

BACKDROP: RAMVII – The Lockers Backdrop

I found this backdrop while scouring the marketplace for items that would help me in setting up a scene. There are not many items in the store but the mesh really seems to be made with quality and this backdrop’s textures are pretty good as well. The chalkboard can be edited to allow you to place your own picture inside at your discretion.

This pose set includes 5 different poses (each with mirror poses) and is bento enabled so if you do not have a body or hands that have it, they will not work. These poses promote the idea that the person posing has come up with a thought or idea and I can see people doing these kind of poses in everyday life. As previously stated, these poses are female oriented but can be used by males due to the parity of them.

When I started putting this visual together my original vision was different.

My first thoughts were to go with a gory visual but as I kept thinking about it I wanted to make it more about the mental aspect of the scene. You can add blood to anything and just leave it at that but I wanted a little more that would be more about the logical aspect. There are some elements based off the book/film “The Shining” as the backdrop that I am using is based off of it as well.

With my look I wanted to give the feeling as if the person in question had not shaven or cut their hair as well as suffer from insomnia and or paranoia; this person has completely shut themselves off from the world. Putting this together was a lot of fun even if my vision changed a little once I started to put all the pieces together; I think that what I did finish off with came out better in the long run.

I feel that my song choice also fit perfectly and allowed me to dig into a rarity by Pearl Jam that not many knew about before their “Lost Dogs” unreleased tracks album came out. I first encountered this song when I purchased a cd single of “Jeremy” (this is when that was a big thing to do to get songs not put on albums). Listening to it carefully it gives me the feeling that it is about someone who is suffering from some kind of depression or mental illness; it could even be dealing with the loss of someone and the aftermath of it.

Lately I can not say enough about the new hairs being released by Modulus. The brand may be a partner of this blog but as a reviewer of items I have a duty to be honest with the products I feature on this site. I’m not here to blow smoke up anyone’s rear end or praise someone because I know them or are friends with them. I genuinely love this brand and have from it’s beginnings as a skin store by the name of Fruk. Fast Forward to present day and the hairs that are part of the Alpha series, they are not only styled well but have great textures and design.

Many brands are fighting for your money which obviously you know. I do have access to Modulus and the brands creator, Chucky Hollak, and I can tell you that I have never met anyone so dedicated to making products that you will enjoy and use over and over. If it isn’t up to his strict specifications then it doesn’t see the light of day and that tells me something.

This brand does not phone it in.

Lately I have had some fruitful shopping trips, one of which was to the recently opened Man Cave. After two trips leaving with things I feel like I could even go back again for more but I have to keep in mind that Men Only Monthly just started as well as Hipster Men’s Event which is coming up this Tuesday. Times like this with so many things I feel that I can use in my photos it makes budgeting a pain in the backside.

My love of shopping is not a very good thing for my wallet.

For the second straight month in a row, The Men’s Jail has been fortunate to have Modulus release a new hair at their event and I have it on good authority that the “Adam” hair has been styled after the man behind the character Kylo Ren, Adam Driver. Mid length to longer styles are always catching my eye because it allows me to have the kind of hair that I do not have in the real world. Beards are something I like quite a bit and in varying styles depending on my mood. This beard is a bit thicker than a lot of the other styles I have worn (though I have been known to sport some really heavy beards). One of the styles allows for you to have a salt and pepper style beard if you want to look a little more seasoned as some do here on the grid.

There is HUD for both the flannel and also the inside shirt (which would also be in single packs). If want to wear the flannel open without the shirt there is a toggle in the HUD where you can remove it or add it back on whenever you want.

Wallet chains may not be the in thing as much these days as they have in the past but it’s a feature I love seeing in jeans which is why this product was a must have. Gabriel makes not only quality products but makes them super affordable even for their FATPACKS which I splurged on with this as well and as I said, I did do a bit of damage at Man Cave as you are now discovering. There are three colors of denim (dark, light and black) with the wallet chain as an attachment.

Even if the wallet chain is not your cup of tea, you can always get these jeans and not wear it because they are still great with or without the addition; if you decide not to jump on these you may just regret it at some point and that’s just my opinion.

There’s definitely more than one reason for the Man Cave event’s name. Not only is it making a reference to being a male only event as well a room in a house where males hole themselves up in on the weekends or during possible sporting events. Personally I think it also refers to one’s ability to not pass up a great item and they “cave” under the pressure to buy things like FATPACKs. EQUAL is a newer brand out on the scene but having come across their brand in several events in the last few months I am becoming a fan with the quality and styles they are releasing.

The style of these shoes really caught my eye and there were so many great colors that when I priced the ones I wanted and looked at what it would be for them all it was a no brainer. The HUD that is included with the FATPACK allows you to customize sections of the shoe with all the available colors in the pack and there are a total of 10.

Inspired by the hotel featured in “The Shining” I have seen some really cool movie scene recreations and I wanted to do something just a little different from all that I have seen and I feel I hit the nail on it. The build is put together very well and photographs great as I tested several different windlights while I was trying to find the right mood for the session (which I used two different ones). When it comes to building backdrops, Bad Unicorn is one of the tops in that genre and I always look forward to seeing their work at events and new store releases.

Regardless of how funny this might sound, the inspiration to do this shoot came about during one of the last times I played the game “Rock Band”. The song inspiration had just become available to purchase and play and it’s been one of those songs that feels timeless for someone who grew up listening to it. Crazy hair rock is something that started my love of music but didn’t quite tip it over the scales. Having a sibling who was a musician and always listening and playing to different things helped broaden my horizons.

Yes there is such a thing as good and bad music but at the end of the day even if we don’t all agree what is what, if it has meaningful lyrics and or beats that is all that matters. It helps us get through tough times and also helps pick up our spirits when we are a little less than ourselves. I have no doubt beyond belief that the saying “There is power in music” is absolutely true.

A good portion of the look I put together here is from items that I’ve had sitting around in my closet (my reference to inventory), my main feature and focus for this blog entry is the “Miles” skin from Modulus and their  “M-Bare” collection. What is different about this is normally I wear the fair version of their skins but this release is comprised of mostly darker tones. Gives me something different to work with and I like that. There will be more of my thoughts on the skin below in the credits so be sure to take a look after you finish reading (or skip down to them because people do it…I have been guilty of it too!)

Above is a close-up of the “Miles” skin and I originally was going to wear a bit of facial hair but I thought that may compromise it too much on my first time featuring it so I held back from doing so. I did accentuate a little bit with the facial tattoos to give the look more of a hard time criminal feel which I think worked out well.

I‘d like to take a moment before I wrap this blog entry up to give a huge thank you to Kendra Parfort and the Avi-Glam brand for being a brand partner for over a year. They recently went into a new blogger cycle and I chose for personal reasons not to apply. I love the products Avi-Glam makes and I’ll continue to be supportive of them the best way I can as I move forward in my blogging career. On a personal note I feel I did my best to promote the brand and I hope that the sentiment is reciprocated.

Tones that are for sale at this event include Caramel, Latte and Sand (which is what I’m wearing). This skin definitely gives a rugged feel to it but yet also has that hint of softness to it. Reminds me a little bit of that one guy that was in the news for a while who became a model after his mugshot started showing up all over the place. This tattoo set is one that I purchased quite a while ago as I found it in one of the folders from 2016. After I put it on I thought it would work well for a prison tattoo to give my avi some edge to him.

These pants originally debuted at the first round of The Men’s Jail and due to time and other projects I didn’t get a chance to use them while the event was open. With there being so many events nowadays it is harder to get everything you want to use out in a timely fashion with deadlines for brand partners due and the real world getting in the way as well. Now that I have been able to wear them in this blog entry, they work perfectly for the tone and mood of what I was trying to relay….life behind bars.

These poses were also from the inaugural round of The Men’s Jail and include 4 poses (also with poseballs) as well as a cage which I did not use in the scene because it just didn’t fit my vision. Normally if an item has poses in it like furniture I use the poses included in it but the case with the cage is that it was not really a prison type but more like a fetish cage and that was not what I was looking for when it came to this scene. Instinct does a pretty good job with poses and props so I encourage you to go check them out and see if you can find something to aid you in your photography and or blogging.

With today’s blog post I tried to capture the essence of youth and being in love with the help of a fresh new face on the music scene. It wasn’t until new years eve that I heard a young man named Khalid singing on the television and instantly I was intrigued. After finding out who he was by doing a search of some of the lyrics I could remember I came across him and listened to a few tracks. The style of music is something I do not normally listen to but it was catchy and it has been stuck in my head almost every day since.

This post is based around my featured item from Image Essentials. The couples pose is called “Awkward Christmas” but we’re almost two weeks past that and I could not in good conscience create a scene that was Christmas themed. I took what little decorations that were down in my house so there was really no way I was going to do it. Going against the grain and using some out of box thinking, having had the song in my head I thought what better way to use this pose than to create a type of high school atmosphere and I already had this backdrop.

Obviously the wife and I are definitely not of High School age but for the sake of reason and for this blog, we’re playing pretend. The theme for today’s blog post as I alluded to earlier is young love. It’s honestly just as complicated when you’re in High School as it is when you’re an adult out in the world. Sure the way it’s pursued and seen out is a bit different mechanically but outcomes still generally turn out the same way on both sides of the scale.

In the above shot I wanted to get a closer look of the back of my other featured item for this blog post. The “Scott” hair from Modulus which is a cool slicked back mid-length with no sides. I’ve seen similar styles like this that came out after so it’s likely a trend that is taking off but I really think the textures really make this the champ. It’s definitely a great hairstyle that I think many fellas will enjoy.

When I was doing a search in my “closet” for a backpack, I came across this item and it worked perfectly. I am surprised that I even still had it as it is from a previous Arcade event from the year 2013. While it may no longer be purchasable at the store there may be some floating around in other people’s closets as well or through various other channels.

A featured product from Image Essentials, this couples pose is actually being used at is was intended and I’m not trying to use some out of the box thinking. Though I think it was meant to be more of a holiday thing but just like the holidays, I’m over it and trees and all that kind of stuff. So I found an even better setting and ran with it and I feel like this photo shoot turned out successful.

AUTHENTIC Poses – Several Things (05)

When I started to do the alternate close-up shots near the door I was going through some of the pose packs that I had purchased but hadn’t used. This particular set is recent from one of the male events in the last several months. I had purchased it for a different setting I had in my head which I still intend to do but I found the perfect pose and angle to get my desired photo. The quality of these poses are very nice and I’ll be looking more into them in the future as I am not all too familiar with them.

♫Ride♫ – Twenty One Pilots

My last post I feel was likely my greatest contribution to this site and anything coming after it might not quite measure up but there is the will to try and I’ve got another look for you. This one is actually inspired by the vocalist for the music group, Twenty One Pilots. I’ve just started getting into the band since about maybe a year and a half to two years (well before they broke up with “Heathens”). I first recall hearing their song “Heavy.Dirty.Soul” on the radio or somewhere and I thought it was unique but I didn’t pursue learning about them further until I started hearing “Stressed Out”.

I really enjoy the beat and took time to start really paying attention to the lyrics and they grabbed me. Some of the words to their songs can be a bit odd or silly but a good chunk of them hold a message and a meaning and that’s why today’s look and song choice is dedicated to the band and their music.

While I know it’s likely not the idea that is being conveyed, the scene I set up depicts someone falling to their likely end; which I feel is loosely part of the ideal in the song based on some of the lyrics. My interpretation is someone is thinking about their life and it flashing before them as they are falling which seem logical doesn’t it? If I were in that situation myself (being that I’m afraid of heights I’d not want to be in that predicament), I’d be thinking of all the people that would be left behind and how I’d rather my end be sacrificing myself to spare them.

The only new item I have in this look is the “Mikel” skin by Stray Dog. It’s available in appliers for both LeLutka and Catwa but I choose to go with LeLutka because I haven’t used it much since purchasing “Victor” and getting a skin for “Daniel” that I really like a lot. I’m trying my best to be fair to all the products I have but there’s always one that is going to suffer from negligence.

The “Blurryface” look may not be 100% accurate but given what was out there to work with I feel like I did pretty good at least meeting it halfway. The Urkin Body Smear was the closest I could find and it’s a cool group gift if you don’t already have it; the Clemmm brand has some really unique things at their store as well. I can be a bit strange at times so stores with unique items like that come in handy.

I think that the oil type smear on the neck and the red beanie are more of the trademark look of “Blurryface” that I wanted to capture and it looks like I managed to do okay with it; the photography session from setting up to finish was satisfactory which I’ll take as another small victory.

Above is a close-up of the “Mikel” skin and for the first time in a while I am pairing the LeLutka head with the Gianni body by [SIGNATURE], which happens to be another product I have been neglecting but that’s because I’ve really enjoyed what the Belleza body has to offer.

There are always pros and cons to every product you use and purchase on the grid and maybe someday I’ll go into them in better detail but I think as far as using Omega Appliers for tattoos and makeup, these to products use them best. I did try using the Urkin Body Smear with CATWA/Belleza but the seem on the neck just did not mesh right and I didn’t feel like trying to edit it out as it would be a false representation so I went with the safe bet and paired this head and body together and it worked great.

Once more it is time for me to wrap things up and get you to what is probably the best part (and if you are in a hurry the part you skip to right away anyway haha). I really like that the skin doesn’t look super young and has some maturity and grit to it as if you might not want to cross paths with this person down a darkened alley. Another quality product from the Stray Dog brand in my estimation.

This basic pocket tee has just a little extra with it, you’ll find that in the pocket are a few cigarettes for added effect. However, if you decide you do not want them in your pocket there is an included HUD that gives you the option to remove them or add them at your own desire. Even though I personally do not smoke it is a cool added feature to separate it from t-shirts that are similar in style.

This post is definitely not as edgy as the last one but it is of a very serious nature. A lot of people around me have suffered personal losses and I myself have suffered some that have impacted me over the years which is why I am dedicating this particular blog entry to anyone out there who has or is currently dealing with a loss. It doesn’t have to be blood, it can be a close friend or even a furry member of the family. It all counts one way or another because it’s in our hearts and in our memories.

The idea for this shoot was meant to be simple and it didn’t have to contain items from new events or anything like that…I just wanted it to be me and whatever location spoke to me. Going through my thoughts about different places I’ve been, I looked to see if any of the Trace sims were still kicking around and found that the Fall Trace was still intact. I traveled there and roamed around for a bit when I found my spot and I feel that with the shots I’ve taken and some of the after magic thrown in, I really captured something emotional and fitting of the topic of the conversation.

Only two things in my look are new, the skin is a new and much overdo release from LV Designs (Thank you Lee!!!) and the hair is from my good brother Chucky Hollak of the Modulus brand. Putting them together with the rest of the look just gelled very well and I felt really good about the look and the location of this shoot. The turnout of the entire process is something that I’m in a bit of wonderment about. Things just click sometimes and I think because I wanted this to make even a small amount of impact. When you truly feel it deep in your bones that’s when some of your best work shines through.

You might have noticed that in the photos I’ve changed the wordmark, which is something I opted to do with the new year and also with some of the newer things I’ve been learning I wanted to refresh things up a bit. I’ve also done so with the headers of each of the different item categories in the style credits area. If I get enough of an inclination I may even freshen up the main site header (it’s been a thought I’ve entertained over the course of the last few days).

HAIR: Modulus – Jake Hair – BROWNS @ District20 ⚜ NEW

This short, messy hairstyle is one that you can use with a variety of different hairbase types and still look good. As with other hairs in the Modulus Alpha line it is available in 5 different colors packs with 5 colors in each pack or all together in one very affordable FATPACK. Lately I’ve been kinda of switching back and forth between all different styles of hair but for those of you out there who are not bloggers and are a fan of the short skater/surfer messy look this is definitely a hair that fit the bill.

It’s been some time since a new skin has been released by LV Designs and I was luckily enough the first person to get my hands on it (and also was fortunate enough to even have it named after me…which is a very huge honor). This skin was created for the CATWA “Daniel” head (which is what it looks best on as I did try it on Victor). This is just the facial applier only but it is compatible with Stray Dog body applier (Tone 4). I’m used to wearing a lot lighter tones but being that this face looks very striking I may have to give this a good run for a while.

Ana Poses – Ljubljana @ Shiny Shabby ⚜ NEW

While I’m not super familiar with Ana Poses, I do know they make really good ones that I’ve seen at events all over the grid. While I was at Shiny Shabby looking into another pose I found these male poses that I knew could be useful. There are 5 different poses (two of them being a kneel an a sitting pose). They are bento capable for those of you that do not have a body that is not bento compliant these poses will not likely be useful to you in the way they are intended.

It’s 2018…just a few days in and here’s the first transmission from yours truly for These Conversations Kill. I feel like I started out on an edgier note with this first entry but I feel like as the world continues to change in whatever way, sometimes doing different things is a necessity. This post came about when I came across one of the main pieces of the scene, the Choices backdrop by FOXCITY. It poses a great question that many of us are probably stuck in the middle of every day.

Build or Destroy… I think that is likely a central theme in 2018 and likely beyond. Personally I believe the world has been destroyed little by little every day without any consequence or regard. I’m not stating it to try and be political because it’s not only politicians who are part of this, it is every single person and likely even myself included. In my mind this year is one I want to improve upon…to build. To help build myself towards something better and help build those up around me and to strengthen the chain.

For the last several entries I’ve been employing some newer skills that I learned in my creative process and I feel like it is helping me with the little bit of a block that I had for several months. Maybe with these new things it will help me create even better photos that not only tell a story like I’ve done since day one but also help those who design the items I am featuring prosper better as well.

Trying to stay on track here, I want to encourage all you fellas that are fans of Clef de Peau to go to their store and pick up the great gifts that have been left for members of the in-world group. If you like what you see and are NOT a member, it’s easy all you have to do is sign up when you reach the store (the taxi will be in the credits below).  I’m not sure which item out of the three I’m excited about the most. The baggy pants are really great and the shirt with the skulls on it is really cool as well. There is another shirt included in the gifts that has a design on it as well but the skulls spoke to me more even though I did like the other design as well.

A new (and the second) round of The Men’s Jail is coming up soon and I am proud to say that the feature is the “Blackbridge Bracelet” by {Q-Essentials}. What some of you might not realize is that the principal owner and creator of the brand is also my father. Seeing his work in an event like The Men’s Jail puts a smile on my face as I know how hard he works to try and build his brand much like I do trying to build upon each entry of These Conversations Kill. This is why I had to feature the bracelet and not because it is from my father’s store, it’s because I think it’s awesome and think you’ll enjoy it too once the event opens and you have the opportunity to take a look/get your hands on it.

HAIR: No.Match – No Bling

This hair was originally purchased during a round of Cosmopolitan and I had ideas for it to be used in but they never materialized. Once I started putting together this kind of post-apoc look it reminded me that I had that hair and that it might fight the look I was going for. I purchased the variety pack so it has the basic colors in it that you would normally associate most people having for hair color.

What drew me to this shirt instantly is the skull design as it is kinda my thing. The shirt is rather long compared to a regular t-shirt and I’m probably incorrect but it seems like the type you would find a raver wearing (don’t shoot me if I’m wrong). I like the shorter than normal sleeves as well as it allows more of the bicep to show and allow anyone who has well toned arms to show off what they’ve got.

PANTS: Clef de Peau – Jogger Pants Black (Group Gift) ⚜ NEW

Super baggy jogger pants…what can I say about them? They remind me a lot of a style of pant called “bushido” pants and I actually own a pair of them in the real world. I practically live in them during the warmer months because they aren’t quite like pants but they aren’t exactly shorts either. It’s a perfect blend and they flow really well when you walk (unless it would be really close to a machine then you might want to be pretty careful not to get caught up in it).

While I could probably throw this into the actual accessories section, it is a wearable so I’m going to leave it where it is in the apparel area. As you might have read above, my father is the Q behind {Q-Essentials}. I was granted an advanced copy of both versions to help test them out and during the process I really noticed how cool these were. Bracelets and rings are something I like to wear and in-world it is a lot easier than wearing necklaces as they are so darn hard to get to look right on a permanent basis sometimes. This item is at The Men’s Jail but the round is not quite open so I’m not going to leave a taxi right now but I’ll come back and edit this once the event opens (hopefully I remember!).

BACKDROP: FOXCITY. Photo Booth – Choices (Group Gift)

This backdrop I’ve seen in various different works by other fashion bloggers and I wanted to try my hand at putting something together with it. I feel like the “Build or Destroy” concept is a really good one as I alluded to before (unless you skipped right down to the credits which is okay too). Probably one of the more recent backdrops of this scale happens to be quite a favorite. I’m not sure if I’ll find a use for it again but maybe I will find a way to revisit it in the future.

RK Poses – Jacob (6, 4)

Some time has passed since RK Poses returned from a bit of a hiatus to start creating poses again and me picking any of them up. This set seemed to call to me when I was browsing around so I thought it would be good to use and I’ve used two of the six poses in the set during this photo shoot so I feel I’ve gotten my monies worth. Definitely will find a way to incorporate these poses into future sessions.
