Lately it seems I’ve been running back to Netherwood to do shoots because there are just so many places I can go at the location but what helps matters is that if you are a paid group member, you can put down items to help your scene. In this case it was the really cool plane wreckage that I found on the Marketplace. While I am not going to officially credit the item, I am going to give you the link to it here so that you can check it out yourself and some of the other items available.

Most of my items in this entry are not entirely new or from current events but they are from recent rounds of events that make them semi-new. I just can’t label them as new because that would not be telling the truth. In case you were wondering what exactly I consider new when I tag it that way in the credits is if it is currently available at an event or is a recent main store release during the particular month. Once the item is no longer at the event or the month ends I do not consider it to be new.

Most of the outfits I have had on lately I’ve really enjoyed putting together and this one is certainly no different. I managed to find a great hair, awesome clothes, great tattoos, and a good setting to paint a picture. Keep in mind that you should always take demos before buying, broken record or not, I am covering all the bases so you everyone who reads this (male or female) enjoys a great shopping experience and bringing home great clothing and accessories (and furniture in some cases). When I was thinking of a way to describe this hair it took a while for me to come up with something good until I thought of the fact that it reminded me a little bit of Travis Barker at one point in his blink-182 career. In a way I supposed you could also consider it a punk rock style as well. Either way it is one that I really have enjoyed and it really helped define this look. It comes in several color packs or you can purchase them all for an adjusted price (which if you were thinking of more than one would it be that bad of an idea?)

Somehow I managed to let these slip past my radar. These Catwa enabled applier eyes are a bit on the brooding side which is why they appeal to me and made putting them with this look a good choice. There are 10 iris colors to choose from with two versions.

When I saw this tattoo while I was browsing around during the opening of the current round of Man Cave I knew deep down I had to have this. A lot of times I tend to neglect tattoos which I know is not fair but sometimes it is hard to find looks to put them with. This was one of those times where I needed something to add a little extra edge to my look. There are three different opacity types and there are appliers for most major mesh bodies.

This tank was a part of last months TMD and I just couldn’t find the right pair of pants to pair it with until I remembered I had the Washed Combat Joggers from REPRESENT which I’ll get to in a second. This graphic tank has regular and worn versions with a graphic that has several different color variations to it so that you can choose what works best for you. What made this promising is that it has a fit for the Belleza body which right now is hands down my favorite; it does come with other sizes as well, SLink, and Signature to name a few.

I try not to rely too heavily on sweatpants or “joggers” as they are sometimes called but it seems my wardrobe lately has seen its fair share. Though it is good to be able to take a break from shorts or jeans and even dress pants because that kind of thing can bring you at a fashion impasse (or at least I think so). These come fitted for the usual mesh bodies but I would still suggest making sure you try them before purchasing just in case.

Easily one of my top 5 favorite shoe designers as I’ve probably stated in past entries (I am more likely to say top 3 without hesitation). The fact that you can purchase a FATPACK for the price of what two single pairs of shoes might cost and have the ability to nearly unlimited customization makes it a no brainer. It is good that the Belleza body has the ability to work with SLink feet until designers start to release products for it outight. That way I can still wear the body and still continue wearing some incredible footwear.

Imitation – Miguel

When a new pose maker comes across my radar I usually check them out just to see if they are going to have something that is going to catch my attention/interest. I came across the Imitation brand while doing a walk through of FI*Friday (Fifty Five Linden Friday). The poses looked good and for the price at the time seemed like a great deal. I am really impressed with the brand and have since purchased more poses (I believe they are also a part of the Animosity Pose brand as well) that I’ll be using coming up in future posts. Keep an eye out for this brand if you are looking for nicely made poses for guys because they are done very well.

Some time has passed and I’ve had time to process some things but first and foremost I wanted to pay tribute to a musician that has had an impact not only on myself but on countless others. Regardless of whether you like the music of Linkin Park it’s hard to deny that they hold a place in the annals of music legend. Creatively written lyrics and a combination of soft vocals and raw guttural screams they came a long way from the beginning of the rap/rock scene.

When the news broke that Chester had passed a large range of emotions had filled my head. It just seemed like so many people that I admired from a music fan standpoint were suddenly just disappearing. Unfortunately I won’t ever be able to see the band in concert but I will still have the music that was created at my disposal to listen to and remember fondly. My heart truly goes out to his family, friends, and bandmates. The world is missing one light that seemed to flicker bright even when shrouded in so much darkness.

There were a few songs I could have used for the theme of this photo shoot but I think what I chose as the final is the best to represent how I feel and many others as well. If you find yourself needing to talk to someone because you are having a tough time do not be afraid, there is always someone out there with an ear to lend even if you do not think they do. Full credits are below so I will let you dig into those but I also have to say that I did edit one of the record sleeves on the pose prop just in case you like it enough to buy it and see that it is not as it appears here. Due to some of the issues I had lately it took me longer to get these put into a look. ROMP is in its last day of being open for this round but there is still time to run out and get these pants. Some time has passed since FLite has come out with a new release but at the n21 event they have come back with a vengeance. The NoMads sneakers are really cool. Being that I am an audiophile (a lover of music) this pose/prop really caught my attention. It was originally at the Cosmopolitan event but I had purchased it just before the round it was in closed as I had almost forgotten that it was featured there. There are poses inside the prop for the gals as well as unisex poses and each of them are adjustable so you can get the best angle/look that fits you. This was one of the defining parts of this entry as it gelled with the emotion that I was going for.

It’s been a little bit of a tough week. Since I last made an entry I had some slight setbacks with my rig and it put a slight damper on being able to blog (which of course when I have time to and really wanted to it was impossible). I’ve also celebrated another year of birth this past weekend so that was pretty exciting but now that the dust has settled it’s back to business as usual. A new round of Men Only Monthly opened which I am excited for, I had a sneak peak of it before it opened but I definitely need to get back there for more items. There has been little time for shopping as of late but I intend to hit the events hard in the next week so I can put together some cool outfits and visuals to share with all of you.

Silky Eyes are the latest product from Avi-Glam. There are 6 different iris tones and each one comes with a HUD to change each eye (or if you want to go with a different one for each side you can choose another color). I really like these, they photograph well but then I’ve always enjoyed this brand’s eyes.

Lee Valentine is at it again! This new skin is based off of that one guy that’s in a show that just about everyone watches (except me because I’m late to the party). For this skin I went back to the Daniel head because it looked best between the two that I own. The package does include and eyebrow and body shape respectively but I did not use the body shape this time around.

I’ve been a fan of Kitt Ragu’s work for a long time, the ::K:: brand often has interesting clothing even if it is not my style or fits the avatar I might be wearing at the time. This shirt is definitely a casual one with there being a bit of open space in the front. Normally I do not wear unbuttoned shirts like this but I figured I’d take a walk on the wild side and give it a try; believe me I was not disappointed. More than likely I have probably mentioned before that it is more difficult to find shoes for the Belleza body unless you use the SLink feet fit and wear shoes that are fitted for them (which doesn’t necessarily always work well). That is why I was excited to see these low-top sneakers at Men Only Monthly. Native Urban is a brand I’ve known for some time and have purchased things from them with a high level of satisfaction and these are no different. Just to let you all know, I purchased the FATPACK just because I know I can use a different color for another potential outfit in the future or just to wear around when I’m out shopping or hanging out. I‘ve returned after drawing some inspiration from the olden days of music but adding a little bit of TCK twist to it to make it work. I’ve always been fascinated by the music of The Talking Heads from back when I was younger and still kind of finding my way through what I liked music wise. I think it is because of artists like this I have found an appreciation for many different kinds of music.

Artistically I like to create images that may seem different or odd to some but are perfectly normal to me. That’s the beauty of art, you don’t really have to like it if you don’t want to because at some point there will be someone that will and I am quite alright with that. I know I enjoy it at least so it starts from there.

I managed to find a really great background prop to use for this photo session that made the idea that I had in my head a little easier. At first I was not sure how I was going to pull it off or if I was going to try and use post production but I found an item that fit perfectly.

This Catwa applier has several options to choose from (no brows to several colored brows as well as clean shaven to two different lengths of stubble). One thing I never anticipated was actually being able to find a house that was actually on fire. With some scouring over the marketplace I was able to find this build which worked perfectly as a back setting in which my theme was based off of. It also gives off that kind of eerie vibe to it as well if you are able to look close enough.

Sometimes when you become inspired by fashion or even a pose set and you are eager to get right into it you hope that when you finish the final result meets whatever expectation is in your head. I feel like with this particular session that it turned out as I expected and more. I really truly honestly love the raw emotion that flowed through when I put this together. You may even agree with me that it could be one of my best offerings in a while. Everything I used made this come together just as I had hoped it would.

Even though I haven’t put these items in the full credits I wanted to give honorable mention to the little items that helped make up the scene for this photo shoot. The round table I used is the “Barrel Table Redwood” by Trompe Loeil, the ashtray is a part of the “Lyla” bar set from [Fetch], the bottles are from a set by {Theosophy} which is no longer available, the store sadly is no more. Lastly the lighter is a part of a pose set called “Blow Smoke” by WetCat Poses. All of these items set the tone for what I was looking for as part of the theme. As I said it does have a bit of raw emotion to it and we’ve all at one point in time or another have felt like pain helps take away other issues surrounding us and some display it differently and in harmful ways which I do not condone, I’ll just put that out there.

Drot has mostly been associated with being a creator of hair and other accessories but they’ve gotten into the build game and have been releasing prefabs and skybox’s such as “Apt Zero” for the Man Cave event. I really loved the old abandoned look of this. It had that dark effect that I wanted to utilize as well. Major kudos to Drot for putting out a really cool skybox seting.

This was the center piece of this photo/look/blog. When I first saw the advertisement for this it caught my eye. It gave me the chills a little bit because of all the unhinged type of things I could create with it. While you can buy each pose separate why would you when you get the exclusive pose with the Fatpack. I remember at one time watching a movie where someone was putting a knife between their fingers really fast while drinking to see if they would make a mistake and put the knife in their hand; this pose replicates that image. I am sure a lot of interesting pictures can be created with this set and there is also a female version as well to purchase.

After some hectic days in the real world, I am back to have a little fun with some cool clothing, poses, and backdrops. When I first saw the advertisement for one of my sponsors, Image Essentials, it instantly popped up in my head what I wanted to do with it. I grabbed a few people to help me and feel like I made some magic happen.

I didn’t notice at first but when you look closer, there is a slight scar on his lip which adds to the uniqueness of his look. This is a CATWA only applier and includes brow and body shapes for the three current mesh heads. The applier also has the option to add freckles if that is a part of your look. TMD runs until the end of the month so there is plenty of opportunity to take this skin for a test drive.

I have been hearing things about this brand for a while now but had never really taken a look into it until recently. EXMACHINA is the clothing division of the Egoisme brand. After taking a stroll through, I find they have some really cool clothing but I was being particularly picky because I wanted to wear something that fit the Belleza body and I found that in this shirt and the corresponding pants. This graphic shirt has 10 different designs you can choose from so there is extended value to it. Combined with the pants I am wearing you can have almost unlimited choices and combinations. Sizes also available in the package include Signature and SLink.

After finding the HIPSTER shirt, I came across these sport pants. I happen to think pants like these are comfortable based on the fact I wear them in the real world sometimes. Combining the two items together make for a really casual look for just hanging out or going out on a shopping excursion. I’m also wearing the Belleza version of these but also included are Signature, SLink, Standard Sizes (XS-XL) and TMP with a HUD that gives you 10 different style options. These would even work well if you exercised or did any kind of sport activity.

Sometimes finding shoes to go with an outfit is difficult based on factor of style and also what mesh body you might be wearing. At times with the limited amount of footwear for the Belleza body (which is beginning to chance) it makes the task a bit more difficult. Though I managed to put on the SLink version of these (as the Belleza body has a SLink foot converter in the HUD). I always enjoy Vale Koer products because they are stylish and always putting out new items that keep up with real trends in footwear. Of course I always by the FATPACK’s because of the endless customization that you can achieve with them (and the price point won’t break your band too badly). With the impressive quality of mesh backdrops these days, it’s making it easier to create an impressive scene without having to worry about going to a pre-decorated location (which is still preferred and fun) to create a good looking visual. Pseudo’s gacha machines always seem to have inspiring places to try to play for so that you can put together a great setting with very little fuss or frustration. I encourage you to check out what they have to offer and even visit their booths in current events which you can find transportation to from the store itself.

Photobombing has become a trend over the last couple of years and has become quite an art for people in both the real and virtual world. Some have even made it part of their “gimmick” if you will. Image Essentials has captured the essence of this fad by creating 8 different sets featuring many incarnations of photobombing. What you see in this entry is v.4 which is sort of a ominous way of creeping up on someone while they are being photographed. I really had fun with this and appreciate the two clowns that had a hand in helping out with the visual presentation. Looks like the joke was on me this time out.

This is the last weekend of the Indie Teepee event and I hope you’ve been able to get there and enjoy all the sights and sounds as well as shopping that the event has to offer. This is my last post covering the event and I hope that you agree with me that it is going out with a bang. The item I chose to feature here is a fun one, and considering I don’t do decor (or landscaping) items very much I thought it might be one of those times where I snuck one in. While I didn’t create everything you see in the background, that would go to the wonderful sim known as Netherwood. I just provided a little extra touch to complete my idea/theme.

Most of my overall look remains the same from the last few posts but I am featuring a new skin by Modulus which you will be able to find at the Mesh Body Addicts Fair that just recently started.

The next photo you are about to see is an overview shot of the BROKEN BOY giant doll by NOMAD. I submerged it in water as if it was a part of an old civilization from long ago that has simply been left dormant and decaying around what has come after it. I really liked this shot too much to edit it into the secondary features shot so I left it as was originally shot.

I‘d like to thank everyone from the event coordinator down to all the artists, speakers, musicians, and item creators that took part in Indie Teepee. NOMAD never disappoints me when they release an item that catches my eye, which is why I chose this item as part of my blogger product reviews for Indie Teepee. I really get the feel that this large doll was inspired somehow by the Fallout games and also reminds me of something personally. Many may be way too young to remember Big Boy restauarants or have ever had them in their area. It was pretty big in the midwest and outside them was a huge doll in a similar style holding a hamburger. At first I tried to find a post apocalyptic location to shoot at but I could not find any that I was able to put this item down at but I do feel that it turned out nicely as it ended up.

This pose set is one I had stored away from a while back from an event and when I was looking for something I thought would fit, I found it in my unused poses but I am glad that I was able to because I do enjoy Le Poppycock and their poses. After having seen so many wonderful photos being taken at Surfers Bay, I decided to see what it was like for myself. Now I have to give you a little disclaimer before you click the link down in the credits if you want to check it out for yourself. It is a beach sim that allows you to wear beach attire or you can go in the buff if you are daring enough. There is also a fee to get into the beach area but it really nicely put together so I didn’t see much harm to pay a fee so that I could get a really good shot with the theme I was working with.

My secondary shot which you’ll see below was actually a retake because I felt like I didn’t get as good of a view of the main product I was trying to feature. I honestly feel like this shot turned out better than the primary one. Don’t get me wrong though I like how they both turned out, just the second one is a bit better after a little touching up. Of course you can form your own opinions of which you like better.

One of the main reasons I chose the theme I did for this entry were these eyes. The name alone reminds me of the song and I thought that since I like being diverse with my choices for themes and music that I would take a run with this. Included are mesh eyes and a HUD to change the size of the pupil as well as a HUD for Omega enabled eyes for those of you that have them. As with all the products in the MESANGE line, they are vivid and look really well when photographed.

[#393] I’ve Created My Own Prison

After all the fun I had with the last entry and being goofy/nerdy, I am back doing my regular thing for this current post. I caught a new location to shoot at and found a nice little spot that fit an idea I have had for some time. Featuring items from the Hipster Men’s Event as well as the newly stocked SaNaRae, there is plenty to get you ready to run out the door and shop til you drop.

I normally do not do photos with as dark of backgrounds as this but when I was playing around I thought the shadows with the use of LUMIPro just made the mood exactly the way I wanted it. I feel the finished effect with post-processing turned out nearly as good as I had pictured in my head.

Sometimes I feel that I am a broken record when I encourage those reading to grab Demo’s but it’s definitely something that I think people should do so that they do not waste their hard earned money on something they will grow to dislike or that does not fit as they might think it should. A remnant from the July round of The Men’s Dept, this latest release from Dura put them back on my radar for hair. Not every style they put out is right for how I feel about my look but this reminds me a little of the 90’s which is a bit part of me in the real world. This hair has several different HUDs for the various shades but also available are two MIX HUDs with combos of each of the other tones. Kind of like two mini FatPacks in a sense.

There’s no surprise that I like facial hair as a part of my look. It has been something that has always been a part of my look in both worlds for as long as I can remember because it suits me better in my estimation. With a HUD for Omega enabled heads as well as tattoo layers for standard avi’s, there are 6 different tones from your typical hair colors to some nontraditional looks (Wild and Ice). If you are looking for a beard that is very kept and styled this is worth taking a look at.

If not for the great sim build alone, heading to SaNaRae is a trip on your shopping list you should make time for. With great items such as this tattoo, which had me with the roses on the upper chest. BODY MOD certainly has my eye as well though I don’t really feature tattoos as often as I’d like. This could be more of a reason to in the future.

After seeing an ad for this item as well as being someone who likes jewelry, rings especially, I found myself taking a trip to check it out. For me it was extremely worth it in the long  run. It’s a great bento ring and is a very good quality gift from a store that is just starting to get going on the grid.
