I thought I would do a fun little entry this time and poke a little bit of fun at the 80’s genre which was a part of my childhood. Looking back on a lot of it and seeing how trends and things are now it kinds of makes me chuckle a little bit.

Two of the items featured in the photo today really helped inspire the theme and I got them from Indie Teepee (which I am a proud blogger for) and from The Epiphany event.

I‘m not sure if those of you that follow the blog ever take a look at the song choices that go along as theme inspiration but I encourage you to click the link the the video and for the younger crowd experience what was big at that time in music and style. You’ll also notice in the full credits below that there was not a pose used for this scene. The keytar has an animation HUD which makes it glow and has sounds and animations for you to jam out to; with careful patience I managed to snap a still photo without needing any kind of posing which for me is very rare.

This suit (which is one whole mesh) was perfect for the 80’s look I wanted to achieve. I had purchased it initially at a previous round of TMD where it kind of got pushed into my closet and it wasn’t until I was putting this look together that I remembered it. Once I put it on and changed a few things on the included HUD, it all came together. Sizes included for the suit are Signature, Standard Sizes (XS-XL), SLink, and TMP.

Nothing is more 80’s than a keytar. Many of the musicians from back then had these in their repertoire of instruments and were prominently featured in many a music video. I thought this was a very clever item for Balaclava to create, as many of their great items have a bit of quirkyness to them. As I had briefly mentioned above, this item comes with a HUD that you can use to animate your avatar and it also has included sounds that you can take hours to discover. A great item and while you are at it, check out some of the events while at Indie Teepee. There’s so much to do and see there!

When I remembered having had a neon type backdrop I had to look no further than this item. #4 in the Illusion III backdrop gacha set. MINIMAL does a very good job with detail on their backdrops and one thing I can tell you is that a lot of them do have neon inspired elements to them which make them very unique and able to stand out. This was the perfect and last final touch to the photos you see here in this post.

With the San Diego Comic-Con just wrapping up this past weekend, I thought I would get a little geek out going by putting together this themed shoot that I think turned out extremely well. With the undead being a huge thing in pop culture these days I couldn’t resist as it has been a while since I did anything like it. So here you go folks, I’m going to let you take a look at the visuals and then after that you’ll get a break down of the things that are recent or new at current shopping events! This item is a remnant of this year’s Hair Fair. I hadn’t been able to feature it due to time constraints but it was one that I was really excited about. It’s kind of a wild style with shaved sides and back which the hairbase does come included with the package and I recommend using it unless you already have something you prefer better. For the latest installment of the themed event, GENRE, I received a review copy of MESANGE’s latest product: “Borealis Eyes” Said to be of a sea faring theme I thought it made sense to try to bring tranquility to the main character of my visual as he’s dealing with a world that has turned upside down. For the event, there are three different packs of five colors which are special priced for the event only. The contents of the box provide you with mesh eyes and HUDs for the mesh and also Omega enabled products. All of the colors are very vibrant and snazzy and could easily be used for regular every day or for role-playing purposes.

My first featured item from the recently re-opened Men Only Monthly event. This shirt reminds me of a concert shirt which is something you don’t see much of these days but is starting to make a comeback. There are several colors available but I chose to go with the white one. This shirt comes with sizes for Belleza, Signature, SLink, and TMP which most people have one of if not several of these bodies so it should work rather well.

I came across these jeans as a special being advertised and I thought that I would just give it a shot and I’m not sorry I did. These jeans have a great fit and now that I’ve started wearing the Belleza body more it’s great when a store makes items for it. It comes with a HUD to change the denim color and also the belt and even if it is no longer promo priced by the time you find this entry I encourage you to check them out anyway. For those of you who do not own the Belleza body, it also comes with sizes for ADAM, Aesthetic, Signature, SLink, Standard Sizes, and TMP. These jeans are a great addition to your wardrobe.

This item was first introduced at a previous round of TMD along with four other backdrops that you could either purchase alone or all together. I naturally liked all of them so I got the full package at a cheaper price. When I was putting together thoughts for what I wanted to do with the theme for this entry, this backdrop stood right up out of the crowd and the rest as they say is history. You can go check out all of the backdrops in the set and many others that are equally high in quality at the main location. You won’t regret it, I promise you.

The focal point of this scene, the pose. There are two versions of the “Batter Up” set and the first version caters to the gals while the second caters to us fellas. Inspired by a few comic related references this set includes regular and mirrored poses along with a bat prop. One small issue I have with this set and it isn’t a very big one as I do love it but I wish there would have been bat props provided for the mirrors. It took a bit of extra work to make the bat look presentable in the mirrored format. This set just might make Lucille a bit jealous or cause you to want to hang out with Mr. J.

After spending some time with the last entry shooting in and around Indie Teepee, it was time to get back to work or well for me time to go to the beach. It’s been a while since I’ve done a shoot like this so I felt inspired after hearing the song that serves as the theme of this post. As you’ll witness, there are more items from the Hipster Men’s Event and also The Men’s Department. There were a lot of good finds at each place for me so I’m trying to feature as much of them as I can before I start doing coverage of Indie Teepee items as well as from Men Only Monthly that opened for a new round on the 20th. The moment I arrived at the Hipster Men’s Event, I was greeted by the “Johnny” sleeveless shirts. Call it a tanktop if you like (as I certainly do) this is another product by Legal Insanity that I couldn’t pass up. There are tons of different designs to choose from but seeing as I am a big fan of lions this is the one I stuck with. There is a black version and also a dark blue version of this shirt. I didn’t want to overload my look with blue considering I have blue hair and my surfboard and trunks both have blue in them. This product has sizes for Aesthetic, Belleza, Signature, SLink, and TMP mesh bodies for those of you that own one of those. Legal Insanity does also offer at FATPACK of the tanks if there are several graphics that appeal to you.

It was simple and for those photographers on a budget that want to create their own surf memories can head to the Marketplace for my second MP selection of the entry. The Indie Teepee event starts on the 21st of July and has everything you could ever ask for. I was granted early access to see what the scenery looked like and I even took a few pics other than the blog picture that you’ll see later in this posting. The photos I took honestly do not do this place justice as you need to come look for yourself and experience some of what Indie Teepee has to offer.

The above photo is the greeting area/landing point to the event, past this line there is magic that awaits you. There are three parcels that are visually stunning and whether or not you are an avid photographer or just like to snap pics in your free time, you’ll want to make sure you capture some memories of yourself and anyone you bring with you (groups of friends are certainly encouraged).

Other important things to mention about the event are:

– The Landing point (providing teleport HUDs and gift bags for the public)
– 3 beautifully designed parcels, each representing one imagined future.

I know it’s been a bit longer than I would have liked between my last posting and this one but things out in the real world seemed to have grabbed hold a little tight as they have been as of late but I still have the desire to bring you great visuals with style and fashion. In this entry I am bringing you a few Marketplace items and giving you a quick look at Summerfest ’17 before it ends on the 20th, as well as newer events such as the Hipster Men’s Event and returning for a new round: The Epiphany. Time to give you the dish on what I’m wearing in this look!

Exile is one of the few hair stores that rarely if ever disappointment me and their item for this years Summerfest is no exception. The fact that the name aligned with the idea of what I wanted to do with my visuals makes it that much better. A nicely combed back look is very handsome and well kept. You have a little bit of time left before the beach closes for the year at Summerfest ’17. It runs until the 20th of July so make a mad dash if you haven’t already been there to get your fix.

While there is not a main store for Mirage NA in-world, they do have this item up on the Marketplace. It’s a small growing store but I hope to see more from them in the future. Sizes included are Signature, SLink, and TMP but with the use of alphas, I was able to make it work for the Belleza body as well without issue. These jeans also have a special use but I’ll leave that for you to discover on your own if you choose to look into this product further.

That time is once again upon us, the magic of The Epiphany is back to enchant our wallets. What I like about this event is that unlike most Gacha events that you play a machine a billion times just to get one little item and are left with a bazillion extras, you can turn those in for prizes that you can only get while the event is running. NOeditOn is offering a slick sneaker based off of one of the most classic shoes of all time. The SuperStar sneakers are offered in sizes for the ladies and for Signature and SLink for the fellas. There are 15 different colors you can with with chance to also win the white “Classic” and one that has a HUD to change the shoe with all the colors available in the set along with black which are both the RARE items in the machine. I really love these sneakers and they are definitely for that laid back casual guy.

The cherry on top of the sundae for this entry. It helps create a visual within one of the lyrics of the song chosen to be the theme of the entry. It comes with a pose prop of wires but also has the singles poses included so you can use it freely with any setting you choose. Very well put together which makes me extremely happy I found it to be able to use in this visual.

I decided that I’d dip into the nerd pool for this post and channel some of the inner me that was lurking around. I found some really cool items to put this look together, with some of them new and some of them just items I had laying around. This turned out to be a really fun and inspired shoot from one of the most hilarious parody musicians of all time, “Weird” Al Yankovic. I’m not going to be like one of thos Chat Room Yakker’s he talks about so I’m going to get right to the breakdown of what you see here.

This item first showed up at a previous round of ROMP. While it ended up getting lost in my closet for a moment, this nice neck lenght hair was just the thing to start creating my hunky nerd look. The box comes with two different versions (the one you see here and one with a blindfold with written words you can choose via a HUD). There are also three color packs but can also be bought as a FATPACK if you can’t pick just one and save yourself some money.

These eyes are for Catwa eyes only so for those of you that aren’t using those and like these eyes you may want to look into the Catwa eyes.

Normally I’m not fond of buying skins from the Marketplace nor am I comfortable with it but I’m slightly familiar with Lee Valentine’s work and saw and adverstisement for this skin that sent me to look at the demo for it and when I found out it was compatible with Stray Dog body appliers it was all but a done deal. I really just like how this looks with the Shaheen head and the shape that I also found on Marketplace which I’ll get to in a moment or so.

As I was browsing through The Men’s Department I came across the set of beards by Beausame and thought that maybe it would fit my look if not just for this post but for more day to day purposes. I had also considered using this beard for a John Wick inspired photo session which may still happen but we’ll have to see how things flow creatively.

From the mind of fellow blogger, Jos Crumb, this shape was somewhat of a test for me because I’m really picky about things like this and with there not being an available demo to see what it might look like with different skins it was something of a gamble but I feel it paid off. I like the facial features as well as the body part of it as well as I’m not super tall nor am I built like a tank. I think that with Mr. Crumb being a blogger he understand things a bit better so kudos to him. After the celebrated release of the Jake body, Tricky Boucher and the Belleza brand are at it again. The “Nathan” shirt (that comes with options for tucked and untucked as well as a tie in three colors) is just the thing for the nerd in us all or just someone who wants a cool dress shirt. I couldn’t decide which of the colors to choose so naturally I bought the FATPACK because it was a great deal and now I have options for when I need something like this for a social setting or even another photo session.

The collaboration between [Deadwool] and Blueberry that has the world in an uproar. Two different versions made for males and females, these jeans really do kick butt. There’s a regular leg and also rolled up leg version for those who may want to wear hi-tops with their jeans without the fear of having them clip through (and we all know that’s a bit annoying). With sizes for Belleza, Signature, SLink, TMP and Standard Fitmesh it covers just about all of the bases for mesh bodies and takes the excuse of getting them off the table. Also if you feel adventurous and dare to buy the FATPACK, you get an extra pair of jeans not sold seperately. I chose the WASH version there is also a standard denim version which is almost tempting enough to go back for…maybe I will!

An item I’ve previously covered on the blog but thought it would be great to pair them with the Jeans to stay within the same brand and also because they look pretty cool together. That’s about all that I have to say about these shoes other than go check them out!

One of my old standby pair of specks, they come with several options (one with the tape and one without) and have gotten plenty of use over time and felt like a great addition to my nerd look.

Once a Gacha machine featured at Shiny Shabby by the now re-branded CMYK store, this office skybox was the perfect setup for what I wanted to do and it was already just sitting in my cluttered mess waiting to be used. Sometimes gacha items end up going into the abyss to die but it was great being able to pluck it out and give it life in this photograph.

Seeing this set at The Men’s Department really made my day. I thought it was super detailed and was the cherry on top of the sundae with the setting and theme I was going for. What’s cool about this set (which you can buy in pieces but it’s way too awesome to not just buy the full set) is that you can change the clock on the computer. The chair which you can see a little bit in the photo has poses in it which I’m sure at some point I will because it’s so well made.

Several posts ago I featured a pose from the V2 set of the Mellow poses from Image Essentials. Both sets have varying sit poses that can be used in a multitude of ways (such as on furniture that does not have poses). After taking a look into the nice things from my excursions to the Hair Fair and to The Men’s Dept., I have another great look for you that also has items from Men Only Monthly and a preview of what is coming from the Souled Out Event that starts on the 10th of July and just so I don’t get caught up in getting too wordy I’m going to jump right into it with my thoughts on what made this blog entry complete.

Going with a hair that is a little ear length and combed off to one side with shaved undersides is one of the current trends in male hair. The one thing I can say is that everyone has their own vision for the style and Speakeasy is certainly no different. There are 5 different color HUDs you can purchase or you can get all of them in the available FATPACK. It does come with it’s own omega compatible hairbase unless you have one that you like and is just as suitable.

Included in the package are the standard mesh eyes with a HUD as well as HUDs for Catwa, LeLutka, and also Omega appliers. These eyes are very vivid and life like and if you are a fan of eyes as I am you’ll want to have at least some of these in your collection. They will be available for purchase on July 10th, I’ve included transportation for you to get there when the event opens.

“Tony” is the latest skin from Clef de Peau that you can find in the July round of TMD. There is a lot of customization with this skin as provided in the Catwa applier. You can have freckles as an option as well as facial stubble. There is also the choice of using the included brows or forgoing them and using one you might prefer more. Another nice feature is that there are body shapes for each of the current bento Catwa heads; I find that wearing it in conjuction with the Shaheen head that my avatar looks a little like Rami Malik, the actor who is known for his roles in the Night At The Museum movies and also the television show, Mr. Robot.

Now I will admit that I’m a huge baseball fan so when I saw this item at Men Only Monthly I really thought long and hard about it because in little under a week the MLB All-Star game will be played in Miami. While this jersey is reminiscent of the old Florida team’s logo that moved to Miami (and not my favorite team or least favorite team by any means). I figured I’d give a little nod to one of my favorite sports by throwing this on and featuring it in a photo.

What’s more casual than a baseball jersey when hanging out? Wearing chino shorts with it to maximize the comfort while still looking good at the same time. {COLD-ASH} has new CHINO Shorts at the current round of The Men’s Department and there are many great options to choose from. There are two different sets (Plain and Colors) with HUDs to change the color of the shorts as well as the belt. There is also the ability to change the belt to a striped version if that is more desireable. The two color sets are sold together as a FATPACK if you are having a hard time deciding between which on you like better and want it all. Sizes included for this product are Belleza, Signature, and TMP. Sadly there is not a size for SLink Physique users or Standard sizing.

[ VERSOV ] is back with another new style of sneaker at The Men’s Department. The NICEOV sneakers are just the thing to complete a look such as the one that I’ve put together. What is great about this is there are sizes for just about all the major mesh bodies for the fellas and the gals so if you’re looking for a new pair of sneakers this would be a good place to start.

After a successful shopping excursion to Shiny Shabby and The Men’s Department, I pulled some other items from my closet to put together a look to go with the one of the items from Modulus’ blogger pack from Hair Fair 2017. If you haven’t been to the fair yet and are able to easily get in, you’ll find there are a modest amount of male hair styles but not nearly the same amount as the gals. With that said, you’ll still find something to bring home with you in your shopping bag to wow those around you and without any further interruption here’s the credits for this entry.

As I previously mentioned, these items came as a part of a blogger pack straight from Modulus. Though to be honest even if I wasn’t a blogger and saw this at Hair Fair, I would have bought it for the simple fact it is a hairstyle I like and have worn before by other designers. It fits Catwa heads pretty well so that is a plus but I haven’t tried it on anything else. Good news is that it is re-sizeable so for those of you that do not have or are currently using a Catwa brand mesh head it should still fit for you.

Catwa Clip is at it again! After the release of the “Stanley” mesh head last month at the ULTRA event, she’s bolstered her male bento head collection with a new face. “Shaheen” is a little more subtle with his features compared to the previous release and fits somewhere in the middle between it and the first release, “Daniel”. I like that it isn’t as rugged but still has great masculine appeal for those who are not high on rock hard jawlines. You can get this at the CATWA main location right now!

Having a new mesh head made me think that I should make my next entry with a new skin to go along with it and I did not have to wait long. The newest round of The Men’s Department features several new skins but this go round I decided to start out with one of my new favorites and the latest release by Stray Dog. “Lewis” is definitely one of those charming fellas that has an intelligent yet sexy look to him. As with most releases from Stray Dog, it is a Catwa applier and is packaged with a shape and brow base but you can always use an alternative of your choice.

This item is one that I had originally purchased at one of the rounds of the Signature Event but did not get to during it’s initial run but I do like to try to give things that are still relatively recent an opportunity to fit a look that I’m putting together and the opportunity came for this sweater. It’s one of those that you could wear on a cool day or evening at the beach and wouldn’t just limit you to wearing it in the winter time. I like how the left arm is pushed just up to the forearm while on the right side it hangs a bit baggy at the wrists. I am wearing this for the Signature body but the package also includes sizes for Classic Avatars (Fitmesh) and also TMP mesh bodies.

Another item that managed to slip into my closet and get lost when it was released at TMD in a previous round. I like that these aren’t your typical rolled up cuff jeans or skinny jeans. They have a little bit of bagginess without looking like you’ve filled your pants as it were and they come down to about the calf in length which gives you the option to wear low or hi-tops or even boots that are ankle length. They’ve got standard sizes for classic avi’s and sizes for Belleza Jake, SLink Physique, as well as Signature Gianni (which is what I am wearing) and TMP.

Finally there is an item from NOeditiON that I know will work well for mesh bodies because there are several fits for this classic low-top sneaker. Several colors to choose from (unless you pick up the FATPACK as I did) with a light mesh side panel which has a little bit of transparency. It does also have a version for the gals which has a bit of a floral pattern in the side panel. I really like this shoe and with it actually having sizes for Signature Gianni and SLink Physique for the guys as well as Maitreya and SLink for the gals.

IE – Mellow v2 (9) ♯ ☆NEW☆ @ Square 1

Square 1 is one of those events that is newer on the scene and I’m still getting acquainted with it but I did receive a blogger pack from Image Essentials containing the “Mellow” V1 and V2 pose sets. Each set has 10 poses included (5 regular and 5 mirrored). They are great for any kind of scene where whoever is posing is in a seated position. These poses are bento so depending on the size of your avatar frame you may need to do some adjusting to ensure that it looks the way it is supposed to.

I hope you enjoyed this post which in a way is basically a post 4th of July setting with my outfit consisting of red, white, and blue items. I welcome everyone back to another look from yours truly, where this time I have goodies from events such as UBER, Designer Circle, Cosmopolitan, Man Cave and also Men Only Monthly. I’m going to try something a bit new with this entry and for the new items that are being featured I’ll write a little bit about each of them. Let me get into what went on in this one so I can get you out there to enjoy a shopping experience.

Burley is a well known name in the hair game in the world of Second Life, most people reading this will know that but just in case you haven’t found this fine example of stylish tresses then I am glad that I am able to give you a taste. The recently released “Gabriel” hair is a nice mid length side combed hair but what makes this just a bit more special is that it comes with a styler HUD and gives you the option to choose if you want the full hair or a version where the side is shaved which is something of a major hair trend that I’m noticing. For this item I went with the variety pack as there were more than I would possibly use with the full FATPACK, but there’s still a generous amount of colors included. You are also getting an included Hairbase for Legacy users, and also applier HUDs for Omega, Signature, and TMP respectively.

Provided in this package are mesh eyes as well as HUDs for Catwa, LeLutka, and Omega applier enabled eye products.

Kauna, a brand known for their clothing such as their suits and more recently jeans/boots combination have stepped into new territory with their release of new bento facial hair, a beard and a moustache. The “English” Moustuache is a very old style handlebar that works really nicely with the “Shape A” beard. Both of these come with a HUD with 9 pre-selectable hair colors but also has a tintable feature if your style choice is not one of the ones included. For a first effort, I think Kauna nailed this and is a product that I’ll certainly feature again in the future. It must also be noted that this beard is for users or Catwa branded heads. If you have something other than Daniel and Stanley it is advised to try the demo first. You can find both of these at the inaugural round of Man Cave, and from one fella to another, I definitely recommend it to any beard lover.

I’m really excited about the latest release by Aitui that is currently available at UBER, which just started a fresh round several days ago. The “Mountaineer” shirt is best described as a graphic tee with the added benefit of suspenders thrown in. There are 8 colors to choose from and fit Signature, SLink, and TMP mesh bodies. I’m wearing the “Ash” version which is a mid to dark gray color. I partnered it up with the companion item that can aslo be found at the same event. The “Mountaineer Waist Wrap” is a cool flannel shirt that goes around the waist and works for that potential evening chill one might experience hanging out at the beach. The waist wrap has HUD with 8 different choices and fits the same three body formats the shirt does. I really knew I had to have these the moment I saw them and I certainly hope you get that same feeling.

I found myself browsing around Shiny Shabby when it opened and came across some high tops by a brand I was not familiar with. At the event, The Own has the “Must Have Chucks” in a variety of colors and also a few themed ones based of television shows and also characters. The ones I am wearing have a really cool image of the Caped Crusader and his nemesis on one side and on the other an image of The Clown Prince of Crime. I’m a sneaker addict so it didn’t take a lot of convincing for me to snag up the FATPACK; the included sizes are (Maitreya and SLink for Females) and (Signature, SLink, and TMP for Males). ⊰BACKDROP⊱ [Bad Unicorn] Barbers Backdrop ♯ ☆NEW☆ @ Limit8 (Sold Out)

Limit8 is a great event that gives shoppers the chance to own one of a kind items that even before the event ends could be sold completely out of stock. One of those items that is being featured here is the “Barbers Backdrop” from Bad Unicorn Clothing. These scene depicts the front of a closed barber shop and comes with a secured door and even has a barbers pole to give it that true authentic shop look. Bad Unicorn did really well with this and just like their other backdrops made it fun to pose in front of. The neon signs even cast off a reddish glow to them; I’m glad to say that I have this genuine one of a kind item.

Designer Circle is not often an event that I’m able to find items but I just happened to find one of the latest pose sets by Image Essentials, in which I am able to review copies of. The GothNIC pose set was designed for the female in mind but I was able to find a way to take one of the poses from the set and use it to help create my scene. I have to say I really enjoy being able to take poses that aren’t specifically for guys and put a spin on them and make them work. For those ladies who might be reading this, these really are great poses to use for such occasions as creating profile pictures. Why not head to Designer Circle and take a look for yourself you may be surprised how much you like them.
