Normally when I put together a post I have plenty of things to credit and only do what I call a “story” shot to get the overall mood of what I’m trying to express and a “close-up” of all the things you can’t see or see as clearly in the first photo. This particular entry is a little different as I deviated from my normal comfort zone in order to try and tell more of a story than make it primarily about fashion. But you might say “but this is a fashion blog is it not?” The answer would be yes, however, sometimes doing things different is good and gives a bit of levity.
Not that the items featured in this post are not fashionable as they definitely have their practical uses for various types of in-world communication such as role-playing.
I had wanted to do a sort of science fiction type entry for a while, I have done them before in the past but I wanted to do one that was a bit more memorable. When I first heard the song that I’m using as the template or “theme” I just knew that I had to try and put something together to do it justice. To me it speaks about a person’s journey in which they feel like they have found the person they are meant to share everything with and then seemingly out of nowhere it falls away.
These Conversations Kill was put together with several ideas in mind, one of them being to bring the fashion of the grid of Second Life from a male perspective more into the open as at the time there were very few and there still are nearly not as many as you might see from the female perspective.
Secondly, I wanted to bring about all the emotions one might feel at any given time: hope, loss, happiness, sadness, triumph and tragedy all under one virtual roof. We all feel them, it’s what makes us who we are and if any of what I do inspires someone in whatever way then so be it.
Also when I saw the wings from Bauhaus Movement at The Crossroads I knew I had my bridging piece to put this idea from thought to reality. It also helped that -SHu Mesh- made a really great suit to match up with it. You should definitely check out their store by taking the taxi in the credits below.
