For those of you who are unaware, the February edition of the SwagBag is going to be the last one. Luckily for those of you who were wanting to get some of the past boxes or have yet to get this month’s box you can go to their headquarters until the 6th of March and pick up any of the SwagBags for $2000. I’ve enjoyed receiving these boxes and I am a bit sad about them not continuing on but at least some really cool ideas and items came from them.

Inside the February SwagBag are two different pose sets from Come Soon Poses that feature boxing themes, one a singles pose set and the other made for couples. The gym backdrop is included and it’s just one of another well made releases from Come Soon. I enjoy their work and thought of an idea for using it and was finally able to put visuals to it.

Modulus is a contributor to the February round of Shiny Shabby with the “Ty” skin. This is a little bit different from their previous releases as there are three new different tones that have been added to the ones we already know. New to the brand are the Almond, Caramel, and Espresso tones and also have separate Omega or Signature appliers for the body. When I first saw the ad for this I thought it looked exactly like Tyrese Gibson but I’ve found out from a very good source that it was actually model/actor Tyson Beckford who the skin was designed after. Either way, it is surely a great looking skin.

I also picked up a few things to complete my boxing look, the INHUMANE shorts from BLACKX come in 5 different colors and to go with the next item I purchased from the marketplace I went with white.

Every boxer (no matter if it is professional or otherwise) needs to tape up their hands. There are not very many out there on for purchase that will work for Omega or [SIGNATURE] and that is what lead me to the MP. I picked up the white version of Mel Essence’s “Short Hand Wraps” They come in 3 different opacities (Light, Normal, and Dark).

It’s time for me to put the “wraps” on this entry so I will leave you with the credits and the transportation to get there so I can get to work on “knocking out” another entry. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

[#341] A Hero’s Gonna Save Me Just In Time

It doesn’t take much to realize that I am a big fan of super heroes, whether it be on the small screen, big screen, or in print form. I just can’t get enough of some of my favorites and like to learn as much as I can about them or pay tribute to them whenever possible.

One of my favorite shows on television right now is Arrow, even after 5 seasons I am still just as much of a fan as i was then. The people at Nobel Creations came out with a Gacha for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival that had an essence of The Green Arrow character so I took the chance to jump on it. While getting all the pieces took a bit of work I finally was able to complete my mission while also being able to avoid any sort of copywrite infringement.

I created a fight scene where the Emerald Archer faces off on a rooftop against the Dark Archer (or even quite possibly more recently…Prometheus). By the time I was finished with my idea from conception to finalization, I was very happy with what came to be.

Other than the pieces from the outfit, the only new item currently at an event are the “Capriccio Eyes” from MESANGE that were also featured in the last post but I thought they were just so awesome that I needed to feature them again.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, yeah I know it’s already Tuesday but it still isn’t past the point where you can think about the previous weekend…at least in my mind anyway.

For this current entry I thought I’d do a little relaxing with some light reading and a beverage. And I achieved just that with a little help from Image Essentials and their pose/prop that is exclusively at The Hipster Fair right now. The “Coffee Sophisticate” comes with a chair prop and also comes with a cup of coffee and a magazine that you can wear while in the pose; I also think that is well made and while you can adjust the pose, it was perfect right out of the box for me.

Modulus also has a new release at their mainstore that is worth checking out. “Damien” comes with beard and eyebrow styles together or individually. You can also use your own favorite eyebrow appliers and beards if you want to. You can choose from 5 different skin tones as well to find which one best suits you.

One of my most favorite eye creators, MESANGE, has a new set that is currently for sale at the APPLIQUE event. The “Capriccio Eyes” are very stunning and come in 15 different iris colors. If you’re not familiar with this brand from my previous entries, each single pack comes with a standard pair of eyes, a mesh pair, and also a HUD to change both the mesh set and also omega appliers for those who have those type of eyes. If you purchase the full set, the HUD also includes appliers for Genesis Lab eyes.

[#339] Get Ready ‘Cause This Is War

Often times when it comes to doing a photo shoot, depending on what kind of artist/blogger/photographer you are etcetera, finding a background composition can be a bit of a challenge. Some just use plain backgrounds to show a look, others like to incorporate places they have decorated themselves (which I’ve done before myself) and some like to find a location that’s been put together by someone with a knack for it.

After scouring various media for a place on the grid that I felt would fit my composition, I found the Sabotage sim. I didn’t get far into exploring it when I found my spot to start shooting. It’s a very nice looking place from what saw of it. I set up in an alley between some buildings and just went to work. I’ve left the location down in the credits below and suggest when you have some free exploration time that you go check it out just to say it’s a place you’ve been to.

Recently released for the February round of The Men’s Department, Modulus is offering the “Sander” skin in it has a very nice rugged look to it and isn’t one of those fresh, young, model looking type guys. This particular fella looks like he’s seen a few things in his time and can handle just about any situation which is exactly what I was looking for. I am wearing the cream tone but it is also available in Beige, Bronze, Dark Tan, Olive, and Tan and you can get body appliers for both [SIGNATURE] Gianni, and Omega for those of you with the Vista Animations PROHANDS like I do.

The great people behind Depraved Nation are holding a little Pre/Post Valentine’s Day themed event called “Love Interruption” and there I found the “V-Day Splatter” version of their Method Snow Boarder Pants. I really love the design on this and was something I knew I had to show off in a look. It comes with sizes for Standard Fitmesh, SLink Physique, and also the TMP body.

I paired these pants with and old pair of the FLite “Long Beach Low Tops” that were a part of The Arcade last year. You can still play the machine at their flagship store in case you missed out on it previously. I can truly never get enough of this style of shoe as you could probably tell from some of my other looks over time.

For my upper body I’ve got on the Legal Insanity “Blade” tank that was originally first released at the [SIGNATURE] event last month. It’s actually really cool with all of the spikes coming out of the neck and around the arm holes. It also includes a HUD in which you can change the color of the metal blades from two different types of gold or silver depending on your preference.

[#338] Just Look At All That Pain

It seems almost like a lifetime ago that My Chemical Romance announced they were calling it a day as a band. I’d like to say that I consider myself a fan and anytime I get the opportunity to pay homage to a musician or group I jump at it. It seems that a lot of the products in this installment just called out begging to be put together. Let me give you a little insight.

It started out at FaMESHed where I saw the “Napolean” Jacket by Aitui. This was something that easily reminded me of the “Black Parade” era for MCR and one that was probably my overall favorite. Without hesitation I grabbed it to start the ball rolling on putting this look and photo shoot together. The jacket comes in sizes for [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, and TMP. There are also many other color choices/combinations to choose from and all you have to do is take the taxi down in the credits to check them out.

My next step was to find a hair to match the jacket with the idea I had in mind. That’s when I went to The Men’s Department and found the “Micah” hair from +elua+. It’s a nice short little style that works absolutely great for what I wanted to achieve. It chose to buy the fatpack but used the “Blacks” HUD to find the white color hair that was worn by the frontman of the band, Gerard Way.

Modulus just released the “Griff” and I chose to wear the cream tone as it was the lightest available from the brand. I really like how it looks, strong yet brooding which is the mood that I was looking for. It is available now at their mainstore, I encourage you to check it out or any of their other new skin releases.

The final touches came from items I already had in my closet. The MGmen’s Sven pants were originally at one of the previous rounds of the [SIGNATURE] event. They were the kind of trouser that I knew would fit exactly what I wanted exactly. Lastly I threw on the “Innsbruck” shoes from A&D. I feel like these are ones that I can use because they are versatile as they are a combination of both dressy and casual.

The “Soft Caress” poses recently released by Image Essentials for the Designer’s Showcase had one in particular that I thought was very useful for the feel I was going for with the theme. You might say that it is a pose set that would best be suited for the gals but I made a way to make it work for me as could any gentleman that needs an intricate close-up photo.

There are so many great events currently going on and some that are just around the corner. It’s been such a crazy time trying to keep up with it all but I hope that I’ve chosen some of the best new items mixed in with some great ones I’ve shown you in the past to make another great look. Of course you can mix and match your favorite things like I do just to put your best look forward. In this installment, I have two new items (one from The Fetish Fair and the other from 2nd Level), and also a look into one of my newest sponsors: Reach, who create Bento Shapes to surely put some sizzle in the steak if you catch my drift.

The Fetish Fair has been going for a while now and there’s only a few days left, but I finally managed to showcase the “Andreas” skin from Stray Dog; I paired it with the Mathias shape from Reach which was made specifically to enhance the look. I’m really impressed with Stray Dog, and not only do they give you a regular skin but also include variations like freckles and in this case hickeys for those guys who get a little wild around town.

Image Essentials, who is also one of my new sponsors have a really neat pose prop that can be purchased at the 2nd Level event. It is a Segway that contains 6 unisex poses and a HUD in which you can change the color of the two wheeled joyride machine. Though just so you don’t hurt yourself, it is a static pose prop and cannot move like your normal vehicles can.

Normally when I put together a post I have plenty of things to credit and only do what I call a “story” shot to get the overall mood of what I’m trying to express and a “close-up” of all the things you can’t see or see as clearly in the first photo. This particular entry is a little different as I deviated from my normal comfort zone in order to try and tell more of a story than make it primarily about fashion. But you might say “but this is a fashion blog is it not?” The answer would be yes, however, sometimes doing things different is good and gives a bit of levity.

Not that the items featured in this post are not fashionable as they definitely have their practical uses for various types of in-world communication such as role-playing.

I had wanted to do a sort of science fiction type entry for a while, I have done them before in the past but I wanted to do one that was a bit more memorable. When I first heard the song that I’m using as the template or “theme” I just knew that I had to try and put something together to do it justice. To me it speaks about a person’s journey in which they feel like they have found the person they are meant to share everything with and then seemingly out of nowhere it falls away.

These Conversations Kill was put together with several ideas in mind, one of them being to bring the fashion of the grid of Second Life from a male perspective more into the open as at the time there were very few and there still are nearly not as many as you might see from the female perspective.

Secondly, I wanted to bring about all the emotions one might feel at any given time: hope, loss, happiness, sadness, triumph and tragedy all under one virtual roof. We all feel them, it’s what makes us who we are and if any of what I do inspires someone in whatever way then so be it.

Also when I saw the wings from Bauhaus Movement at The Crossroads I knew I had my bridging piece to put this idea from thought to reality. It also helped that -SHu Mesh- made a really great suit to match up with it. You should definitely check out their store by taking the taxi in the credits below.

Towards the end of my last post, I had mentioned that Vista Animations were set to release their Bento PROHANDS for the [SIGNATURE] Gianni body. I’m happy to report that sometime shortly after publishing it, the hands are indeed out and available for purchase. What’s even better is that for those who already had the SLink version you could buy them for a reduced price of half the cost as an “UPGRADE” option. It has the same features and animations as the SLink Physique version and I recommend either product for those of you who want more functionality with your virtual digits.

This time out I combined a little old with the new that I’ve acquired and mixed it all together to make a casual look. I’m excited about some of these items so I’m going to get right into it.

The Men’s Dept. is back once more and I’m wearing the new “WADE” jacket from {COLD-ASH}. It’s a nice open leather jacket that has an optional shirt that you can turn on or off as well as colorize it if you want to; the package includes the aforementioned HUD along with Classic Fitmesh, Gianni, SLink Physiqe and TMP sizes as well as a non-materials version you can unpack if you would rather wear it that way.

Last time I had on the Go&See “Kevin” skin that you can pick up at The Crossroads event. I have another new skin from the event by one of my favorite skin designers, Modulus. You may be wondering why they might be a favorite since they’ve only started selling skins. It’s fairly easy, before establishing the Modulus brand, Chucky Hollak, was the creator behind Fruk skins. I was very excited upon learning he was returning back to his roots which I may have mentioned in a previous entry as well. With a great attention to detail, Modulus is most certainly a hard working brand. There have already been modifications as Chucky is a perfectionist and as a consumer, I can’t help but admire that he wants to make sure that everyone gets the best.

The “Oskar” skin comes in the usual shades that are synonymous with the brand (Cream, Nude, Beige, Olive, Bronze, and Tan). I have also learned that at the their flagship store, they have released the appliers that are compatible with the Bento PROHANDS. What also differentiates this release from the “Milo” skin that was previously released is besides the eyebrow/no eyebrow option, you also get a beard option and a combination of all three as well. Also included is a shape to make you look your best while wearing it.

Making their returns to complete out this look are the RIOT “Lennon Long Line Jeans” which have a great fit for the Gianni body that I am wearing and also the fame femme “Kori” sneakers that were available last year at The Men’s Department. Considering that I bought the full pack of these shoes I’m bound to find other great colors to use with jeans such as these. It’s the perfect look for a night out with the fellas or even a date night to make a good visual impression. Also still available from Men Only Monthly for a few more days are the “Ardor” eyes from Avi-Glam. The blue iris tone is pretty close to my own real eyes so I wanted to go with them one more time.

One of the things that I like about blogging is the thought and creativity that goes into it. From putting together items you might already have in your “closet” or from things you’ve recently picked up at an event right down to those that are provided by sponsoring Stores.

I always think of things and I jot them down as I generally base my photos off of a song or even a music video. Sometimes even things come to me on the fly which is one of the best things about the creative process. This posting is proof of that.

When I started putting my look together I started thinking to myself “Wow, I’m channeling Boy George a little with this”. Which is when I knew that I had to pick either a song from the Culture Club or by George himself (by George…slap your knee if you are old enough to get that one). Having been a part of the decade of the 80’s it kind of makes it sort of memorable for me. I’m a person who appreciates music in all forms because it takes creativity of one person or a group of people to make things come to life. Pop music was a major player in the 80’s as was Culture Club. It was something that was kind of fresh and new and that’s how I would like to think of myself as when it comes to making posts to this site.

Before I get too far off track, I want to tell you about some of the new releases featured in this entry starting with the Stabler Hair/Hat combination from lock&tuft. It is part of a Gacha machine but it is unisex so both the fellas and the gals can utilize it if you have extras or just want to give gifts. The hat portion comes with a HUD that gives you a choice of 3 different cloth choices (Contrast Wool, Wool, and Linen) in a variety of colors. There are also three different colors that you can change on the band of the hat. This is available right now at SaNaRae until the 18th of February.

The Crossroads returns with a new February round and a new look. They’ve done some renovating but you can still find some excellent items as you’ve come to expect from the event. I’ve got a double dose of goodness from G0&See. The “Kevin” skin comes in the usual tones from the store which include: Goth, Pale, Tan and Dark Tan. It was created with Catwa Bento and [GA.EG] in mind with an included shape, but it also comes with a shape for LOGO bodies as well.

The second item you can get from Go&See from The Crossroads are the “Garden” eyes. There are 10 tones included in the HUD but it is only for the CATWA mesh eyes. These eyes are quite different from my normal but I like the choices that are included.

For the outfit, this is one that I had tucked away for safe keeping, PRISM’s Leroy outfit. I chose the black version because that is what I feel suits me best. It has sizes for Standard Fitmesh, SLink Physique, and TMP with options for Materials or No Materials. I do have to warn you that I did try on the version for SLink (as that is the body I am wearing) but the shirt seemed to poke through the vest portion so I chose to use the Standard Fitmesh and it seemed to work a lot better. I love the look of it despite the slight fitting snafu.

Vista Animations released a pair of Bento hands not long ago and I was on the fence about getting them as right now they are only in the Beta stages but updates are free for life if you choose to purchase them. I had not heard any complaints through social media or on the grid so I broke down and bought them. I must admit they are pretty cool and they come with preset skin tones for Akeruka and Clef de Peau skins (which I wear pretty often) but also have the option if you choose to buy the Omega System Applier, any skin can be applied to it giving a seamless look. It comes with 12 preset hand poses (gestures). You can also find poses from various pose stores that have made animations that work with them. It is very neat some of the things you can do that you couldn’t previously with standard hands or their mesh successors. I’d encourage you to go check them out and they cost about $999. If you are not a SLink body fan, they should be releasing a [SIGNATURE] Gianni version as soon as sometime this week so stay tuned for that.

Alright now for the last thing, we have new shoes from Kauna in the form of the “Monk Strap” shoes that are currently for sale at this month’s FaMESHed round. It comes in standard and [SIGNATURE] Gianni sizes and has a HUD to control coloring for 6 different areas on the shoe, also the included built in socks, and also the buckles. They are definitely a must have as far as dress shoes go for the fellas. Everything is well made from the textures down to the functionality of the HUD.

I would like to take a quick moment to give a shout out to Adalynne Romano of {Picturesque Poses} for giving me a review copy of her “Paul” pose set. I think all of the poses in it are nicely done and I hope at some point to be able to get to use them all. She’s just started the venture but I have a feeling great things are going to come so keep an eye out for poses from her store. If you look below you’ll find a taxi ride to take you there!

I have returned with some more goodies from events such as Men Only Monthly, Ultra, and The Chapter Four. After a small break due to yours truly being a bit under the weather, I come back with a little inspiration.

A little bit behind this photo shoot…not long ago I went to see xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. The original movie is one of my guilty pleasures of sorts when I feel like I want a lot of action. So I thought I would see what I could do to represent that in the virtual world. I think that I caught the overall feeling of an action type movie in the photo and I hope that you agree.

I’m one again wearing the Modulus “Milo” Skin that’s still available at the Ultra event up until the 15th of February. However, I went with the “Nude” variation to appear more darker complected than what I normally wear.

{Fe Style} has the “Orlov” jeans for purchase at Men Only Monthly, which is also running their current round until the 15th. There are 8 different denim choices to pick from and has sizes for Standard (xs-xl), [SIGNATURE] Gianni, and SLink Physique mesh bodies.

At N21 you finish out these winter months with the !Aphorism! Winter Parka. I feel it really goes well with the jeans, they both fit perfectly and did not clip into one another when I was shooting for this posting. The coat has an option to add a fur trim to it as well as the ability to change the fur in a HUD. A shirtless option is also included within the included HUD as well in case you decide you want to show the world that you truly are fearless. It comes with sizes for [SIGNATURE] Gianni, SLink Physique, and also TMP.

The Chapter Four has just begun its new round for February and with that I bring you the “Jasper Eyes” from MESANGE. 15 excellent color choices for you to pick from along with a HUD that gives you the option to change the size of the pupils from xs to large. If you purchase the entire BEAUTY PACK with all of the above mentioned colors, you are able use them with Genesis Lab eyes along with the Standard Mesh and Omega Appliers it already comes with.
